Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Angela Shirley

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When you fear your world as you know it will come falling down, what lengths do you go too to maintain the work and life you worked so hard for. For Caspian a visit to his uncle could have his world crashing before him unless he can come up with a way to for fill his Uncles dying wish.

Paisley has the ultimate dilemma, with her mom in a coma and the medical insurance running out it is up to her to find a way to look after her mother and live her life but will all the money problems coming her way she is at a cross roads and not sure which way to go, until she sees a blast from her past and can it be that simple.

This is the first story I have read by this author and loved the premise of the story a bit of “Indecent proposal” vibe to this but really enjoyed the story. I have to say at first the character of Caspian was not endearing, as a real playboy, love them and leave them but as the story goes on you get to crack the shell and delve deeper into him and his character which was fun. Paisley was a lovely likable character who you would love as your friend and although I was shouting at the book “no, don’t do it” to then see the slow burn of the relationship grow was lovely.

I enjoyed the flow of the book and that it did not make Paisley a weak person, you saw her courage and sass come through and put Caspian in his place a few times. It was a great first book in this series and would love to read more by this author and this series.

Cade (Default Distraction #3)Cade by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A second chance, rockstar, enemies-to-lovers, best friend’s sister forbidden romance, with a mafia tie-in….whew.

This novel seems to have all the romance tropes in it and while it’s a lot to consider in one book, I found it actually worked fairly well. The one aspect I didn’t feel was played out well was the BDSM/ Dom/sub aspect of it. I felt like it tried to set up that relationship but failed to fully deliver.

I did like Cade and Winter’s dynamic overall, with the push and pull. Winter has their past to consider and Cade is determining if he’s finally able to put the playboy rockstar persona behind him and commit to one person. I love how Winter is the depiction of a strong woman, what with overcoming life challenges and being tested in various ways while making a name for herself with the opening of the hotel. I also enjoy the banter that Cade and Winter have and how it can be hard at times it’s leading to each of them opening up to the other and building that foundation for more, and better communication.

Side note: what is it with romance novels and a huge fight occurring between the main protagonists all because of lack of communication?! -Maybe I need to step away from reading romance for a bit y’all.

Even though I enjoyed the book, I’m only able to give it a 4.25. There was something that prevented me from loving this book, though I couldn’t tell you what that is.

This book is book 3 of 4 in the series and does overlap in timeframe to book 4 (the only other one of the series I’ve read so far). We see a little bit of the other band members and them building on the relationship with their chosen lady, so there’s Easter eggs and semi spoilers about the other books, but I found it was enough to whet the appetite for the other books rather than ruin the other couple’s storyline. I’ll be searching out books 1 and 2 for sure!

Content warning: sexual training, BDSM aspects.

Finding love. Is it true love? Or just convenient for the time being? It’s a great read!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Conveniently Yours is the first book in the Titan’s of Manhattan series. It follows the story of Paisley and Caspian, two childhood friends that drifted apart and ran into each other again later in life- literally. Paisley, a broke artist trying to make ends meet when her mom is in a tragic accident and hospitalized couldn’t have a life much more opposite from Caspian- a wealthy CEO of a family company. As Caspian receives the news that his uncle’s heart has become weak, his uncle leaves him with an ultimatum- either marry someone, or risk losing the company he has worked so hard for.

So Caspian has an idea- one that will benefit them both. And she agrees.

This book is steamy, sexy, and heart wrenching all at the same time! This author fills her stories with romance, twists, and turns- and I am so excited for the second book to come out. If you’re a fan of 365 DNI (365 Days), of the Mafia Elite series, and of the Royal Elite books, you will love Titan’s of Manhattan. This book for sure left me wanting more, and is going to the “re-read” shelf of my Kindle library.

A Fab four-star read. This is number one in the Titans of Manhattan series, and I do want to read the rest as I think it shows good potential. I like a fake romance story, they always have that sweet romance, the will they won’t they. Paisley, I found a little grating at times, and her and Caspian took me a little while to warm too, but overall not bad, the character development was good and the story got there. I like this author and will definitely be reading them again.

This book is an amazing read. This author is new to me, so I didn’t know what I would find, but I’m definitely hooked after reading this first book. I can’t wait to jump into the next book in the series. This book is a fast paced read. The characters are detailed and easy to feel like you know them. The storyline is original and kept me reading long into the night. Paisley and Caspian have great chemistry and this story has some sizzling love scenes. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next one in this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind in her writing. This is the fourth book of the very addictive Default Distraction series. This book can be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not stop until the end and I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Luke was given up by both parents. He was raised in an orphanage by the only father figure he knew. Luke is now a single dad and band member to a very well known group. He wants his daughter to have the best life that he didn’t have. Luke is starting a tour and he needs a nanny to help out. He is shocked to find out that his new nanny is the girl he saw one day and he can’t stop thinking about it. Luke knows he is not good at relationships but there’s something about her he can’t get over. Will Luke be able to find love or will it slip through his hands once again?

A.S Robert’s does a good job of bringing you into this Rockstar romance novel. This is book 4 in the series but I think you could read this as a stand alone as well. The author really draws you in this story and you can’t help but really feel for Luke and his past. I honestly had to have a box of tissues next to me for some chapters. Roberts does an amazing job paying attention to details in the story and really makes Nikki and Luke come to life!

This book has contemporary romance and the fake dating trope. The way this is amazingly written.

Clothes, cars, property, and women are all within Caspian’s reach until the grandeur he’s become accustomed to threatens to crumble around him if he fails to fulfill his uncle’s last desire.
He has discovered real love and to be Committed to staying married for a year.

Only by completing those two crucial duties would he be able to claim his fortune. What he needs is someone who will agree to a convenient arrangement that will free him from the emotional bonds of marriage.

She didn’t believe things could get much worse now that she was evicted and destitute. Then they did it. Paisley will soon be saddled with the financial obligation of her mother’s care, with her mother in a coma and her insurance benefits running out. She has no clue how she’ll support both of them until a childhood acquaintance approaches her with an unusual proposition. She wants Her mother’s care to be taken care of and a penthouse in Manhattan as well as the sum of one million dollars.

She just needs to pretend to be blissfully married for a year, but a lot may happen in that time.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I absolutely loved this story! When I first read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be my kind of book and it absolutely was. Caspian is the kind of character I know I should hate but there was just something about him and I knew he would change as the story progressed. He is your typical alpha male, billionaire character but I think there ended up being much more o him. Paisley. Knew I would love her straight away, yes, she was probably your typical female lead in this type of story but she was such a lovely person and she actually wasn’t afraid to stand up to Caspian which I admired about her. There was the angst I wated between them but also a slow burn passion that you could feel building with every turn of the page.
Overall, a really great read, one that I would highly recommend and I look forward to reading more form this author again in the future.

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Alexandria Richard

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4)Luke by A. S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 4 in a 4 part series. I have also read book 3 these two seem to be written in roughly the same time period but focused on a different couple, so there are eastereggs from and about the other book(s).

In this book we get to read about Luke and his adorable daughter, Brielle aka Brie, and how they are both looking for a fun loving nanny to join them. I love how much of an adoring father Luke is. While he is still a rocker at heart, he has put his daughter first and focuses on her needs. He knows what it is like to have no parental figure as he was abandoned as a baby. Of course being a good dad, Luke asks what Brie wants in a nanny and she states she wants someone fun, pretty, and who can dance.

Enter Nikki, a specially trained nanny who is looking for a new placement, and who is a HUGE Default Distraction fan, specifically Luke’s.
I love that Nikki is not the stereotypical nanny. She has a few tattoo’s, is on the younger side, and has her tongue pierced. She’s also a trained ballet dancer, which Brie loves. While I really enjoy Nikki personally, I love her family, and how big her/their heart is for others. I also appreciate that we have a character with a major disability that is not talked about in passing, or that is just brushed aside.

The romance that builds between Luke and Nikki feels organic and well thought out. It is not rushed, and in fact there’s many instances that had me laughing out loud at the antics of the characters. I love how the band members are all also rooting for one another to find happiness instead of whining and complaining about it, which seems to be popular among musician romance books.

Having read book 3 and 4, I certainly need to go back and read 1 and 2 because I have questions, darn it! But I would also love to see more of Brielle and Flint in future books or novellas to see where they end up. Ah, the life of a rockstar child.

Content warning: alcoholism, abandonment, orphan, attempted sexual assault

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moving to a new country with his daughter, rockstar Luke, is trying to do right by his little girl. But his attraction to the nanny could spell trouble.

Nikki has had her eye on Luke for some time and she is living with him as his daughters nanny. When there’s a possibility that he might felt the same, will she risk her job?

I have not read any of the previous novels but I really enjoyed this. I don’t read rockstar novels often but I’m glad I picked this up.

It was a quick read, with great lovable characters but I could not put it down.

Nikki’s personality I just loved and Luke talking about his past just broke my heart.

I plan on reading the other books in the series to know more about the characters and their stories.

A wonderful romantic story
A little steamy and a lot of soul-searching. Paisley and Caspian’s story was very easy to dive into and I was very vested in their relationship. Caspian was a very alpha, dominant male who has had opportunities to create a better life for himself while Paisley has had to struggle all her life. I loved the backstory and also the multiple POVs as the added depth made me feel so much more connected. A solid story for romance lovers.

A romance where a girl next door meets the boy next door who becomes her hero as kids and later meet again when they are all grown up. They have experienced different worlds along the way but meet by accident when they needed each other the most. I loved the connection between Caspian & Paisley from the start. Although I’m not sure I would have agreed to the marriage if I were Paisley, I totally understood why she did. There are some interesting characters in the book and the story definitely kept my attention.

Caspian is a billionaire and in need of finding a wife or he won’t get to keep his uncle’s company. Paisley is having a rough time she is caring for her sick mum and is practically broke and has no where to live. Can they be each others life lines? A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richards – Review by Ashleigh Sherel-Kidd

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story would make a perfect Hallmark movie.
Olivia books a cruise for Christmas to get her mind off of her cheating fiance (who cheated with her supermodel sister). Once on board, things take a fairytale turn and she finds herself dining with Mr. and Mrs. Clause, meeting the man of her dreams, and quickly descending into a sugary sweet Christmas happily-ever-after.
This book was not my usual read and felt like it needed some more editing. I found the pacing to be really unrealistic, but it is with Hallmark as well, so I suppose it’s par for the course!
If you like light Christmas romances that are void of anything dirty, this might be the read for you!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 1) by Anise Storm

This is a new to me Author but was interested after reading the synopsis and decided to give the book a try, and I was not disappointed. I was able to shut my family out, relax and enjoy this book, which was not easy to do with my family around.

This book is a mixture of two different troupes and I liked that, you don’t often see them blended as well as this was.

Paisley and Caspian both broke my heart for different reasons, they both made the Mama in me need to hug them and let them know it will get better. My favorite part of this story was a pivotal part so I obviously won’t discuss it.  But the fireworks on the beach or the Def Leppard reference are two of quite a few that stand out.

I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next Titan to fall.
