Oh, this was a fun read. Lexie is caught in the middle of Book Club drama. A dear family friend passes due to homicide and she ends up getting in the middle of it trying to find the killer. The writing in so engaging. I couldn’t put it down. The drama is kind of like watching a train wreck. You can’t look away. I’ve never read Agatha Christie so those references went over my head. I found all the characters quite easy to relate too. Such a unique town full of personality. A few twists and turns kept me guessing as to who the culprit might be. The author even tossed a couple love interests in there for Lexie. Sweet, this is a must read. Excellent cozy.

Perfectly Framed is the second book in the Mobile Cat Groomer Mystery series by Ruth J. Hartman. As expected, this is an intriguing cozy mystery with a bit of a whodunnit feel. Ms. Hartman’s signature wit and humourous touches, along with the intriguing mystery, make this a very enjoyable read. Even though this is the second book in the series, it could be read as a standalone, if you wanted- without feeling like you are ‘missing’ anything. Having said that though, I recommend reading the first book as it is a fun story in its own right…. Molly, the mobile cat groomer once again finds herself thrust into a murder investigation when she has photos taken of furry friends- and the pictures reveal more than expected. But someone certainly doesn’t want Molly, or anyone else, looking too closely- and so lets it be known that to do so will come with great risk. What happens makes for a bit of a suspenseful tale. Another great instalment in this fun cozy mystery series. Looking forward to the next book. Happy Reading…

Brushed Up On Murder is the first book in the Mobile Cat Groomer Mystery series by Ruth J. Hartman. I always enjoy Ms. Hartman’s stories, and this one was no exception. The start of a new series based around a mobile cat groomer, Molly, who in this adventure, becomes a bit of an amateur detective when she discovers a body on one of her house calls- and her Uncle becomes the prime suspect. Add in some cute and funny furry companions, witty banter, humor, interesting quirky characters, murder, crime + investigation, drama, danger, and intrigue—- and the result is an entirely entertaining cozy mystery. Well woven with plenty of intrigue, drama, tension, suspense, puzzling developments, interesting characters, and crime & investigation- makes this whodunnit an engrossing read. Lexie Driscoll’s first murder mystery book club meeting goes a little awry when murder comes calling- and all too soon the bodies begin to stack up. Murder a la Christie (Golden Age of Mystery Bookclub #1) by Marilyn Levinson. This is such a fun read that is very reminiscent of Agatha Christie books. Its the story of Lexie Driscoll who leads a monthly book club called the Golden Age Mystery Club. Lexie loves Agatha Christie books so she uses them to try to solve her mystery. While at the club meeting one of her members dies so Lexie decides its up to her to figure out if it was a murder or not. Lexie had heard someone threaten the victim right before the meeting so maybe they had something to do with it. The person that passed away was also her friend and she was going to live in her home that summer so not only did she lose her friend but she lost her home. Frustrated and sad Lexie knows that her friend didn’t die of natural causes so she is determined to find out what happened. Read this fast paced cozy mystery to find out what happens. You won’t be disappointed.

Purrfectly Framed: A Mobile Cat Groomer Mystery by Ruth J. Hartman. This is such a good series. They can be read as standalones by I always recommend reading them in order because you get a better knowledge of the characters. In this book the murder starts right at the beginning and Molly and her feline friends are hot on the trail. The victim was not a well liked person so its going to be even harder for Molly and her gang to solve it. Molly is a hoot and I laughed out loud several times during this fun read. The trouble she and her feline friends get into are often times hilarious. If you love cozy mysteries that will make you laugh out loud and can read in one sitting, then you have found your series. Such a fun read!

I accidentally grabbed the second book instead of book one, but it was written in a way that I didn’t feel that I had missed out on a lot of important information. That being said, I plan to read book one, because I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I want to read more about Molly and her fantastic felines. I am definitely starting to really enjoy the cozy mystery genre and this series is a wonderful fit. It definitely draws you into the action right away and it’s a laugh out loud story with all of the hijinks between Molly and her felines as they attempt to figure out who did it. Molly is a great main character and she is extremely loyal to her friends and her felines. If you like hilarious mysteries with the added bonus of cats, you will love this series!

Having just read the first book, I was excited to see what book two would hold for Molly and her feline companions. This book is just as good as the first one and I loved Molly possibly even more. I couldn’t wait to see how she would navigate her way through this new mystery and I was not disappointed at all. Books like this are definitely becoming more common and yet this author has created a series that will definitely stand out from the market. They are funny, entertaining and hold enough twists and turns to keep you engaged and wondering what might happen. This book was thoroughly enjoyable and I can’t wait to see what is next in Molly’s adventures.

This is a fun and entertaining murder mystery story that is definitely made even better by the feline help the main character receives. Molly was brilliant to read about. She was the perfect lead for this kind of story. I enjoyed how the author introduced enough characters who could be the suspect to keep it interesting. This kind of story I usually find quite predictable when it comes to guessing who is responsible but there was enough mystery involved, with a few twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am going to read the next book straight away.

We get to visit Molly, her friends and her cats to help solve another murder. I always enjoy coming back to visit characters from previous books that I enjoyed. This one did not disappoint either.
I enjoyed it as much as I did the first book. This time Molly and her cats were trying to solve the murder of Agnes Temple that the Sheriff thought Evan, their friend and photographer committed because it took place in Evans shop.
I enjoy the storyline and helping solve the mystery but in both this book and the one before it I did not quess correctly who committed the murder. I think you will enjoy the story and trying to solve it yourself.

Molly owns a salon for cats. She also has a mobile service that she takes when she goes to her clients house and grooms their cats at home for them. This is good for the Seniors who, for whatever reason, are unable to go to the shop to get their cats groomed.
Mr. Durbin stopped by the shop and got a text while he was there so he left his cat their and asked Molly to bring it home for him when she was done. Which she did, or at least tried to do until she went around the back of the house and found him stabbed and deceased.
Molly and her cats with the help of some of her friends are solving mysteries. Since they can’t count on the Sheriff to do it. Check out the book I think you will enjoy it.

I love cat cozies, from Lilian Jackson Braun to Ruth Harman. These stories are funny as you are trying to figure out who the murderer is. The author doesn’t make it quite so easy but it is still an enjoyable story to laught and try to solve. I love the cat hijinx. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

Purrfectly Framed is the delightful second entertaining book in the A Mobile Cat Groomer Mystery series by Ruth J. Hartman. I really enjoyed the first book Brushed Up On Murder that I had to read this one. Molly loves her furry footed friends and wants to preserve moments in time with them. Unbeknownst to them they inadvertently capture more than they realise. Which leads to Molly and her posse once again trying to find clues that will lead them to a killer. It is the perfect cozy mystery adventure book for cheering you up because I found myself laughing out loud at the banter, mischief, and mayhem. There are many quirky characters of all shapes and sizes, but it is the furry footed kind that are really the showstoppers in these books. If you are a lover of cosy mysteries and love the feline kind, then these wonderful books are sure to melt your heart.

Brushed Up On Murder is the first book in the A Mobile Cat Groomer Mystery series. It is a fun and entertaining cosy mystery. There are a host of characters both furry and human alike and it was often the furry four-footed kind that had me laughing along with Molly and Hanks witty banter. Molly loves her job as a cat groomer, but she equally loves playing amateur sleuth. So, when she finds the over-fastidious Mr Durbin Haines murdered, she and her posse can’t resist to expose the truth and catch a killer. It was easy to spot the murderer, but it was fun watching the quirky characters and puzzle pieces come together through the twists and roadblocks. I have read a few or Ruth’s feline friend’s books and have been delighted to read each one. If you like furry friends and super sleuths, then Ms Hartman’s book should go on your TBR list.

Murder on West Main is the second South Shore Mystery series book. While I enjoyed the first book, I enjoyed this one even more.
In this book, Kathleen’s brother, Colin, finds himself the prime suspect in his boss’s murder. His boss had threatened to fire him mere days before. Colin is certainly not perfect, but Kathleen knows he is no murderer. Daniel, the assistant coroner tasked to investigate, doesn’t believe Colin could do it either. He is determined to find the killer, but his feelings for Kathleen complicate matters, especially when she wants to investigate independently. As they try to solve the mystery, they discover that almost no one likes the victim, Brice. In fact, Brice may be the true villain in this book.
The author did a wonderful job of revealing even more about the characters, and each is still growing throughout the pages of this novel. In addition, the book is well-written. Her town descriptions made me feel like a part of the book myself. She kept me guessing. I had a suspect in mind, but I kept second-guessing myself.
Her secondary characters were some of the most developed I have seen before. I liked getting to know Daniel’s sister, Isabell, and Kathleen’s brother, Colin. I’m hoping these two are on the cusp of their own romance.
Foster created a perfect little historical mystery. She combined twists and turns, a little romance sprinkled in, and some historical facts (the beginning of fingerprinting and a new toy, a teddy bear), giving her readers a book that was hard to put down. I look forward to the next mystery these unforgettable characters have to solve.

I went into this not knowing it was part of a series, but it still was a good stand alone story. Colin shows up to work early one morning only to discover his boss has been murdered, and Colin immediately becomes number one suspect. Luckily his sister Kathleen, and Daniel the coroner, believe he is innocent and they set out to find the real culprit. Of course this story happened before a DNA database or anything was made to help them, so it was tricky and provided many twists in the story. I’m not usually drawn to historic fiction like this was, but I do love a good mystery, and was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was a great cozy mystery that had me hooked from the very beginning and I’ll definitely be picking up the first book as well as anything else put out by this author.

Oh my gosh this giver is one of those you can just climb into and be transported in time 😉
So Colin arrives the office a little early so that he can get work and get into the boss’s good graces because he was taken to task for looking unkept after a night in the saloon 🙈so he still looks a mess 🤣 but instead of finding the kar work he needed he cones across his boss , dead , in his office 🙈
Look the man wasn’t very likeable and there are many suspects but poor Colin in the main suspect at the moment fortunately Daniel , the coroner believes he’s innocent as does his sister Kathleen so there’s that at least 😉
Anyhoo Daniel and Kathleen are out to prove Colin’s innocence and things do get a little hairy and you keep second guessing yourself as to who really is guilty and yes there’s a dash of romance to take the edge off 😊
A relaxing and fun read ! I love being an armchair sleuth 😉

This was a fairly fast place book and the author draws you in from the beginning. I picked this book up without realizing it was part of a series, but I feel like I still had a wonderful experience without the background. I will say that after reading this one that I absolutely must pick up the first because I loved it! The author has a unique way of subtly grabbing your attention and the next thing you know you’re up in the wee hours of the morning devouring the book. Within the first chapter I was hooked and lost out on sleep to finish (worth it)! The characters feel relatable and well developed, and the flow of the story had a very natural progression. Although this is the first book I’ve read by this author, I am hoping to pick up many more by them. If you love cozy mysteries that will keep you on your toes until the end, look no further because this is your next read!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and not the last. Full of twists and turns, it kept my attention throughout the book. It does not disappoint.

This is a series that I have enjoyed so far, even though this is only the second book. The author keeps you guessing with what will happen next! It brings a bit of nostalgia with the historical aspect and how they ever did any kind of police/detective work prior to DNA and all the technologies of today.
This could be read as a standalone but I always recommend having the context of previous books in a series to have a full comprehensive of all the players involved.

Having read and enjoyed the previous book in this series I was looking forward to being back with coroner’s assistant Daniel O’Halleran, and I was not disappointed. This is an enjoyable and engaging historical crime novel with plenty of drama and suspense which had me hooked throughout. Colin Brissedon arrives at work to find that his new boss, who had threatened to fire him, has been murdered and he then becomes the prime suspect. However, his sister Kathleen does not believe her brother is capable of murder and neither does Daniel, but the coroner’s assistant will need evidence. During his investigation Daniel learns that the victim, a prominent attorney was not very well liked and more than one person would have a reason for killing him. Meanwhile, Kathleen decides to conduct her own investigation against Daniel’s wishes and he is worried for her safety. Daniel needs to find the integral clue that will help him solve the mystery, if he doesn’t then the murderer will be free to kill again. Once again the characters and the setting were brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the story.

Murder on West Main is Book Two in the South Shore Mystery Series. It is a historical cozy mystery set in a small town in the early 1900’s. This book will grab you from the first few pages as the main character, Colin, is implicated in the murder of his boss. All clues, including an earlier altercation with his boss and his fingerprints on the body seem to point to him as the prime suspect. However, Colin’s sister Kathleen, and the local coroner’s assistant, Daniel, have their doubts as to his guilt so his sister Kathleen decides to conduct her own investigation. As she delves into the clues things quickly take a dark and dangerous turn. It is soon discovered that Colin’s boss was not a popular man, and the list of suspects grow. This book had strong characters, a great storyline, an amazing book cover and was packed full of crime, drama, action, suspense, mystery, murder, and old-fashioned sleuthing.
