This has got to be one of the sweetest books i’ve ever read. Reese and CC were an amazing set of characters with a completely magical romance. The setting was beautiful and oh so Christmassy. If you are a big fan of Hallmarks Countdown to Christmas this book is right up your alley. This book was so beautiful to read.

I tend to start and finish books like this quickly, but this story was so good and life got in the way so it was a slow read for me this week. Laurie Lewis did a fantastic job making characters that were so easy to fall in love with. We meet CC who has gone through a horrible breakup and is caught in the worst possible situation with no idea how to get out of it. Insert her knight in shining armor – equipped with cowboy boots and a rancher’s hat – and maybe there is a way her horrible situation can turn into a blessing in disguise. I loved the timid feel from both main characters and the love that was felt between Carlos and Emmie. It spoke volumes that there was so much to be uncovered and that it happened slowly. It felt like a true love story, rather than a rushed one. Reese had gone through a major loss in his life and had some demons that he needed to work through while CC was learning to face her own. The comparisons between the ranch and their lives were beautiful and heartwarming. This story was well thought out and well written. It made me want to read more from this author and learn what else is to come, not only for the main characters but for the families and the ranch itself. If you haven’t started your Christmas reads for the year, this is definitely a great one to start with!

Oh what a sweet romance! This story brought such joy to my heart. I absolutely love CC and Reese. In chapter 5 when Reese talks about the pond it reminded me so much of my husband and how he renewed my faith in love. This is one of the feel good reads you can’t help but enjoy! Its a great book to curl up with a chilly day with your favorite fuzzy blanket. Its even sweeter to read about hearts being repaired and trust being built! This truly is the perfect sweet romantic read! I did not want to put this book down!

A beautiful holiday romance that brings two lost souls together through circumstance. With heart felt moments and a wonderful setting this book had me hooked. The characters were relatable and mature with both facing their own baggage and hoping to make it through together. Will definitely check out more from this author.

Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie Lewis

This is the first book I’ve read by Lewis. I will definitely be on the lookout for more by Lewis. This story had me hooked from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down.

CC is offered the job of the century. She thinks things are going great for her until she crashes. Not only does she crash her car, but she also crashes into a man’s life. The quote I chose for CC is: “Give me a list of what you’d be doing if you weren’t studying.”

Reese wasn’t expecting company and not the way he got it. Christmas isn’t The man’s favorite holiday, but when he lets CC stay things change. The quote I chose for Reese is: “Hold on a minute. I’ll have to dig you out a bit.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This story written by Laurie Lewis was a breath of fresh air after a long stressful week. I absolutely loved Cross-Country Christmas! Beautifully written and wonderful characters to boot.
It all started with an accident that brought 2 lost and broken souls together!
CC contracted to drive a brand new Tesla from Chicago to Las Vegas received some devastating news, which caused her to make a bad decision, landing the car crash and being buried under a snow drift. Reese received a call from a neighbor saying there was an issue with his fence. An issue that would forever change his life.
With the trials and tribulations of the holiday season, plus the accident looming over her head, CC and Reese spend this story navigating life and being around one another.
Will this adventure heal them both? Will it break them further? Will CC have to pay for the ill advised decision she made?
Everything gets answered throughout this story, not without tears(which I myself shed at points) and heartbreak. This is such a sweet Christmas Romance to indulge in by a fire cozied up with a mug of hot chocolate! I dare you to do just that, because that’s the exact homely feeling this book represents!

There is great chemistry between CC and Reese. This was a good mix of romance with life lessons along the way. It gave a good picture of why it is important to not let the past hold you back from moving towards your future. I liked the part that Emmie and Carlos played in the story and the setting was a bonus for the story. This was a cozy Christmas read for sure. I would definitely read more by this author.

Author: Laurie Lewis
Five Stars
Sweet Christian, cowboy romance.
The magic and charm begin from the very start. This book was hard for me to put down. I managed to read it fairly quickly even though I have had a bunch of personal life stuff take me away from reading for a little while.
The story between CC and Reese is built on trust and almost destroyed because of broken trust. But more importantly they find they have to get back to their “true selves” before they can work on them as a couple.
The family relationships and their spiritual relationships are wonderful fillers in this story. The way Reese and CC connect spiritually in chapter 14 was really sweet and meaningful.
I am assuming that since Reese is the oldest of eight brothers that the Silver-Buckle Brides Romance may continue with the other Brockbank brothers.

Cross Country Christmas is a sweet, clean romance from Laurie Lewis. This was the second time that I had read any of this author’s work and I have enjoyed both books so far, I would definitely read more in the future.
The author does a great job of pulling you into the story with a dramatic first chapter that grabs your attention and makes you want to read more.
I really enjoyed reading Reese and CC’s story. The story is quite angsty (is that a real word?) as both struggle to keep their budding relationship/ attraction chaste and not progress to quickly. It was actually nice for a change for the two main characters not to jump into bed with each other straight away. I really enjoyed reading their progression from strangers to friends to realising their feelings for one another.
As well as Cc and Reese I loved the main secondary characters of Emmie and Carlos. They both add so much to the story and I really enjoyed reading about their relationship too.
Cross Country Christmas is a really great, heartwarming romance that is just ideal for cosying up on the couch with a hot drink to lose yourself in.

What a great Christmas Book. CC
Resse. This is an amazing book by Lauire Lewis. Can two people do broken love each other can they trust each other. Resse is a man I really connected to. CC I enjoyed her character and the interaction between these two people. I love CC bubbly personality and her way to cheers up. Cross Country Christmas really takes in the sport of Christmas with healing, love, warmth, forgiveness. Furthermore its witty humor, real life situations made me totally invested in the story.

This was a wonderful Christmas romance which had me hooked from page one. CC Cippolini takes a temp job to drive a custom car, a Tesla, across the country but following a crash into a cattle fence finds her plans changing, just over Christmas. CC finds herself at the home of the owner of the now broken cattle fence, rancher Reese Brockbank. Reese is happy for CC to stay with him but he’s determined to keep his distance and not let another women upset his life. However, when CC begins to decorate his sterile house for Christmas and turns it into a real home with her warmth and joy, Reese finds his defences are being worn down. But, CC’s story doesn’t quite add up and as Reese questions her, CC puts up her own defences. Both of them are still harbouring pain from their pasts but will they take a chance at love with each other. I loved CC and Reese as they are likeable and relatable characters who just have instant chemistry. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life and I felt engaged with the story. The storyline had me happily turning the pages and the plot twists and turns kept me gripped until the end. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this festive novel, and I was cheering the couple on hoping they would get their HEA.

CC Cippolini gets an opportunity to leave her past behind to drive across country to deliver a luxury vehicle interstate. Should be easy. Right? Well things don’t exactly go to plan and she ends up on a bit of a detour of sorts.
Reese Brockbank’s world is about to get a serious shake up when CC comes crashing into his life. He has trust issues that run deep, but circumstances see him taking her into his home, and it’s here that things really get interesting! With both having past pain to deal with, will they risk a chance on love? The story is definitely worth the read to find out!
Cross-Country Christmas is the first book in the Silver Buckle Brides series by Laurie Lewis. I have read quite a few of Ms. Lewis’s books now and there isn’t one that I haven’t loved. This is a wonderful holiday romance- with Christmas and cowboys, Ms. Laurie provided two favourites in one book. There is definitely more to this story though- there is an emotional element to the story with the characters dealing with their own pain which adds drama to the story, but there are lighter aspects too- witty/ funny banter, sweet scenes, and heartwarming moment; as well as family, friendship, second chances, new beginnings, spirituality, and hope.
I can really see this making a captivating Christmas movie- I’d love to see it come to life on the big screen!!
Looking forward to the next book from Ms. Lewis!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Laurie Lewis!

This is a beautifully written festive story. The author does an amazing job with setting the scene and the characters are relatable.I  really enjoyed this romance story and I loved the Christmas theme. It makes the book all the more romantic as the author paints her scenes.
This follows the story of CC and Reese.

CC takes the job as a driver to escape her life and move forward. Unfortunately her big plan of escape ends when she ends up involved in a accident. Stranded in a field covered with snow she had no idea how she did going to get out of this. U told her night in shining armour Reese turns up.

Reese has had his heartbroken in the past so when he rescues CC he vows not to get involved or to close. After all once the snow clears she will leave.

Both CC and Reese have bad pasts which have left them with scars but can being stuck together and the spirit of Christmas help them  both connect and find love again?

This was another great read for me from this author. I love her attention to detail in her storytelling – it really enabled me to imagine exactly what I am reading. I loved how the action in the story literally started on the first page – I was dragged into CC’s story immediately. I loved both CC and Reese, they were both great characters to read about – they each had their own stories to tell and I loved the connection that grew quickly between them. There were some sweet emotional moments in the story and a few twists and turns too! I really enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it to other readers.

I’ve been struggling with writing this review because I can not find the words to accurately describe how I feel about this book and this author.

I love this book so much, but I love every single book this author writes so that’s nothing new. I don’t know the words to use but her writing just pulls you in from the first sentence. Smooth flowing, the right words in every place that just flow together perfectly! This book, like the others took me inside and made me feel everything. I saw the scenes as they happened, and felt every single emotion. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I got angry and felt like I was watching it all play out in person.

I connected immediately with CiCi and Reese, and I have the ranch all set up in my mind! I love how this story took its time, I love how the characters morals were very important to each of them. I loved and laughed out loud at how they tried to keep themselves on course. “The De-stressing plan”. Baking cookies at all hours of the night, Axe-throwing. Their connection was undeniable and I was fighting for them to figure it out as hard as they were. I got worried at the end, but completely loved the ending! I can not wait to read this again.

Reeses family shocked me, I had worries that that was going to be completely different, and Carlos and Emmie won me over just as quick! Would love to have this story continue. I hated when the book ended.

This is one of my favorite authors EVER, I will read anything she writes and I try to have all of her books on my bookshelf, sitting at the top with my other few lifetime favorites!

Read this book, it is a comfortable, feel good story that will have you feeling all the feels!

CC Cippolini takes an opportunity to drive a Tesla from Chicago to Vegas for a client that won it to surprise his wife for Christmas. While heading there to a place her father always wanted to end up she has an accident and crashes into a fence of handsome rancher. He rescues her and as they spend more and more time together they begin seeing changes in themselves and the upcoming Christmas holidays seem much brighter. Will they be able to finally let go of their pasts and be together or will the past come back to haunt them and hold them back?

I felt that this was a super cute book. It almost reminded me of like a Hallmark movie in print. There was good character development and you were rooting for them the whole time. It was a very clean romance and the two main characters bonded over their love of God and their dark pasts that have shaped them into the people they are. He was a former soldier and she was trying to figure out herself after the loss of her father and the departure from her foster mom. There were a few times I was hoping for a little more spice, but that was a personal preference and it wasn’t what this book was.

I would recommend this book for anyone who would enjoy a cute love story with several characters that you would root for. If you like Hallmark movies where characters are trying to overcome their pasts as they are falling in love, then this would be perfect for you!

Cross Country Christmas by Laurie Lewis is a wonderful story about finding love when you least expect it. CC Cippolini takes on a cross country job driving a Tesla from Chicago to Las Vegas. She wanted to honor her late father by going to Las Vegas because that’s where he wanted to retire. CC never expected to find herself stuck in a snow bank surrounded by cows and saved by Reese a rancher in Utah!

I really enjoyed the way the author kept the story moving and sucked me in pretty quickly. The two main characters, CC and Reese were easy to relate to as they learn to trust each other and share their life while feeling mutual attraction. The book is a great reminder for those of us who have been hurt by those we love but have faith that we will find love again.

It made me want to curl up in front of the fireplace with a cozy blanket and a hot cup of cocoa while I read it. CC and Reese are perfect for each other. They’re both running from their pasts and determined not to let their walls down but their souls immediately connect. There’s so much sweet romance mixed in along with heart break and action and lots of wondering where this story will end up. This book had me hooked from the first page and rooting for CC and Reese the entire time. The ending was so unexpected but absolute perfection.

Cross-Country Christmas By Laurie Lewis

The book was fantastic. I am a huge romance fan, and I love books that are clean and dirty :). This book was clean with no dirty scenes, I know some like that, and some do not. It even had biblical references a few times. However, once I started reading this book, I could not put it down, and that says something with my recently busy schedule. This book has two main characters who have pasts that affect them and their decisions, so I knew there were going to be ups and downs related to that, but even with it being predictable in some areas I loved every second that I spent reading this book. I will be recommending this book to my friends!

Though this book starts off rocky, it easily takes a turn for the better as these characters get better acquainted. I love their chemistry but hate when they try to tear into one another but love how or when they get closer. What keeps me glued to this read is the positive and warm energy that warms your heart as these characters get closer. A real page-turner as obstacles derail their experience but they always find love back with one another. These always make for the best love stories, at least for me.

Laurie Lewis just captivated me with this incredible romance. Great for getting cozy on a cool almost winter day. This book is a perfect example of what most wish for in life. It truly leaves you feeling so many emotions. I am often asked why I have a selection of books kept set aside if I have already read them, and I think its just books that made me feel everything as if I was the main character, or that I just simply didn’t want it to end. Whatever the case may be, this book is being added into that collection that I will read over and over for a very long time. Add it to your library quick, you won’t be disappointed.

This was an amazing romance read, on more than level for me. The writing and how the story plays out was more than amazing for sure! It was heart felt with a lot of emotion and beautiful in every which way. The moments that brought the main two souls together truly was a fated meet and beautiful destiny.

For me I truly loved how these two souls, CC and Reese meet under circumstances that were truly less than ideal, neither of them wanted to take refuge with Reese, but perhaps destiny had other plans. They are stuck together, but maybe this could be a new light both of them needed, but never knew they wanted. Through out my reading I watched not only themselves grow, but also their hearts. Things came to light with a lot of emotion and it really added to the story, it was so beautiful, and amazing to watch this romance to take flight. The story was very well done and very blissful I dare to say!

For me I loved most was the emotions that were behind the two souls and why at first glance they were the way they were. It really made the story real, and true in every way. I loved this story, it was just what I needed, I finished it smiling with great joy! A must read for sure, a very high recommendation from me!

This was a truly enjoyable romance. The story of CC and Reese requires some compassion and understanding because both have been hurt in the past. It makes them a little skittish when it comes to the possibility of another relationship. Starting right off with the accident that makes CC basically a “snow covered salt lick,” these two are testing each other out and seeing if they want to give in. CC loves Christmas. Reese has his reasons for feeling the way he does. But eventually, the two come together stronger. There adventures leave you chuckling and tearing up a bit. Come along and check this quick and easy Christmas read out. You’ll enjoy it as much as I did. Highly recommend.

So, this is the first book I have read by this author, so I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting my hands on. However, I am a sucker for Christmas stories and a friend was reading it, so I thought why not. I’m glad that I did. Since I have finished this book we have had a couple of conversations over coffee about how much we loved it. It’s a wonderful, heartwarming family story. The holidays seem to be a time in the lives of family with strained relationships that can make it hard on everyone. And sometimes the holidays are just what’s needed to bring families back together. This book is filled with some of that sort of family drama and how love can help mend broken hearts. This is a very “clean” book in that there is no bad language or sexual filled scenes. There are some religious undertones in the story but nothing more than some scriptures. I liked this book and recommended it for anyone looking for a charming Christmas story.
