Another great book in this already great series. I have loved the Madeline Dawkins series since the beginning and every book I read is just as good as the last. This author knows how to keep me entertained and on the edge of my seat. This book can be read as a standalone without any issues but I recommend reading the rest of them because they are excellent stories. Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end. There are multiple cases being worked on by Madeline and her team and each one comes with its own problems and emotions. This story is full of danger, drama, suspense and so much more. I highly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed.

Many reviews said this could be read as a stand alone. I found I got so lost in some areas of the story that I wound up frustrated and not enjoying the story. I found the author to be very strong in creating detailed characters and giving us amazing storyline, so I decided to head on back and read the first 7 books. After that I found I really enjoyed this novel. I would definitely recommend reading this series as a whole and taking yourself on a laugh out loud adventure!

This was another good book in the Madeline Dawkins series. I like that the author has a few different cases being worked simultaneously but the way she writes never makes you feel lost. Any one of the books in the series can be read as a standalone, you don’t have to read them in chronological order to get any back story. This books deals with a divorce, someone sending poison pen letters to a senior living facility, and a father trying to find his daughter. The team has to split up so all the cases can be worked simultaneously and it will take some coordination and co-operation from each member to keep this well oiled machine running. Will the daughter be found safe? Will they catch the culprit behind the nasty letters and get to reveal his motive? How much more will the wife in the divorce be able to take before she throws in the towel? So many things were going on in this book but it was sure entertaining.

Other People's Money (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 7)Other People’s Money by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a big fan of this series of mystery crime thrillers and so was excited to be back alongside main character, the likeable and relatable PI Madeline Dawkins. In this storyline Madeline is asked by two old friends to help them with delicate and personal matters that could have lasting consequences, involving embezzlement and gold digging. In one case Madeline and her team at MDPI have to search for a missing bookkeeper after her employer is being blamed for missing funds. The team are also asked to do a background check on the much younger fiancé of one of her old friends widowed father. Madeline soon discovers that the women is definitely not who she’s claiming to be, but then has to find out who she is. The longer the investigations go on, surprising connections begin to appear, leaving both Madeline and the reader following the trail of other people’s money. Another fast paced, gripping story with plenty of suspense and plot twists that leave you turning the pages quickly to find out what will happen next! An enjoyable and engaging read, and I look forward to book eight!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this gripping series, I was looking forward to this eighth instalment and once again the author delivers. I loved being back with PI Madeline Dawkins and Mike and feel invested in these main characters now. Madeline has been summoned to the assisted living complex, Monte Verde, where Mack her father lives. However, instead of a personal problem, the facility director enlists Madeline and her team at MDPI to help discover who is sending poison pen letters to the residents, someone who seems to know their past dark secrets. If these secrets are exposed then it could have devastating consequences for those involved, however the deeper Madeline looks she soon learns that everyone seems to have something their hiding.
Another case is a client of the attorney next door to the office of MDPI, who’s going through a very ugly divorce, where the estranged husband is being particularly intimidating in order to wear his wife down. The husband wants to force her into relinquishing her share of the couples community property assets, but his tactics are almost criminal. This was another fast paced page turner which had me captivated from start to finish. The plot kept me guessing, and the wonderfully descriptive narrative brought the characters and setting to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. I’m already looking forward to book nine!

Breach of Trust (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 8)Breach of Trust by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this 8th book of the Madeline Dawkins Series, the team is taking on 3 new cases that keep them busy – a missing teen, a divorce case, and a senior living facility receiving threatening letters. The team must work their magic to help out with these cases. Although these cases are pulling the team in different directions, they continue to touch base with each other.

Like the previous books in this series, the author does a wonderful job world building, the characters are well written, work together like a well oiled machine, and overall make the story very enjoyable. I think it helps to read the series in order to really get a feel for the characters and how they come to be part of the MDPI team. If one didn’t have a chance to start at the beginning, they can be read as standalone books.

Breach of Trust (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 8 ) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Jamie Burns

Breach of Trust is the eighth book in The Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I picked this book out of a line-up and decided to read it because the description caught my attention.

While this is the first book I have read in the series, I can say, you will want to get out your notebooks and Scooby Snacks, track all the clues, and see if you can solve with case alongside the gang. If you enjoy books about Private Investigators, suspense, secrets and lies, mysteries, adventure, and secrets this is just the book for you. Cynthia Hamilton is now one of my all-time favorite mystery writers. That is saying something since I grew up reading Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys.

This is a great mystery read. This book features a private detective agency run by a husband-and-wife team. Three seemingly unrelated cases merge together in an explosive conclusion. I really enjoyed the characters of the private detectives, especially as they sought ways to let people have control and even dignity throughout the revelation of some pretty tough truths to handle. I wish that we as humankind in general sought ways to preserve the dignity of others.

Breach of Trust (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 8 ) by Cynthia Hamilton. This series and this author have quickly become my favorites! Each one of these books I read I say its my favorite. I do suggest reading them in order so that you get the best experience. In this book Madeline & Mike get three new cases. One involves her dad’s Senior living Center where mystery letters are going around and some are very dark. The next case is about a missing girl who has escaped from a cult and is trying to lay low. The 3rd and final case is about a man and woman going thru a ugly divorce and he is trying to hide all his money and belongings so that she won’t get any of it. Since there are so many cases and so little time they decide to split up and of course mayhem ensues. I have loved every one of these books and I can’t wait to read the next one. Be sure to be prepared to read until you are finished because they will suck you in.

I couldn’t WAIT till my workday was over to sit down and read this book. This is the first book that I read from Cynthia Hamilton and I am hooked. This booked kept me on the edge the whole time wondering what was going to happen. The characters were amazing! Having three stories in one was awesome, I was also surprised that it was SO easy to keep up with. Sometimes storylines like that can get confusing but this was laid out perfectly. I would recommend this book to anyone!

This is a part of series, but I read it as a stand alone. It was the first of this author’s books that I read. It is full suspenseful and mystery. I enjoyed the characters. Maddie and Mike are married and both are private investigators. In Other People’s Money they are working to solve three different cases. As they work through each case, they find something new and it adds more twists and turns. I didn’t figure out the ending until the end- which is a plus!

Other People’s Money (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 7) by Cynthia Hamilton. I love this series so much I don’t want it to end. Each book is so good and each one I read is my new favorite. These can be read as standalone’s but I recommend reading them in order to get the most out of them. In this book we find Madeline taking on 3 very time sensitive cases at the same time. These 3 cases are all intertwined with one another but they aren’t aware of that at the time. In one case Jane, Madeline’s best friend asks her for help because her husband has been accused of embezzlement. In another someone has come up missing and in the third a older gentleman has become entwined with a woman that his family and friends believe to be a gold digger. Of course anytime Madeline is involved things go awry and her husband has to always help her out. Missing people, money and a gold digger all in one book. What more could you ask for.

Breach of Trust is the 8th book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton and it does not disappoint. I have really enjoyed all the books in this series so far, the author consistently comes up with engaging and enjoyable stories. In this book the team at MDPI have 3 cases on the go; a messy divorce with an abusive husband, who reminds Madeline a lot of her own experiences; a missing daughter who had left to join a cult; and a poison pen who is terrorising the residents of the facility where Madeline’s father, Mack, has moved into. I love how the suspense builds throughout the book and that each story gets its fair share of attention. A definite page turner.

I love a series that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This one did just that, I could not put it down. As a night reader, This one had it all. So worthy of a night without sleep. Besides the fact that 3 different scenarios were all happening at the same time. No worries though, this author is through and keeps things unconfusing. You have a cry for help, a nasty divorce and poison pen letters messing with the mix. Which one will be solved first? Will the divorce hit home for one of the PI’s? Can help come soon enough? This author has a great way of writing a story to keep her readers entertained. Her characters feel like people we would be friends with. Everyday people with everyday problems. Although these problems I would not like to deal with. I love this series and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Other People’s Money was the first book I have read by this author. It is the 7th book in the Madeline Dawkins series, however can be enjoyed as a stand alone. There is references to the past, but with enough detail that I didn’t feel like I was missing important details. It was a pretty good mystery, that did not reveal all until the very end. The characters are well developed and the story was a steady pace. Madeline and Mike are married and private investigators. They are debating expansion, after a busy period, when they are landed with 3 cases at once. They have 2 missing women, and a possible gold digger after a friend’s widowed father. I liked how the cases wound together, but I didn’t like the ending. It was not what I expected, and I felt it wrapped up suddenly. Over all, it was a decent book that kept me engaged, and I would read more in the series.

Breach of Trust by Cynthia Hamilton is the 8th book in the Madeline Dawkins series. It is able to be read as a standalone though you would probably have a better understanding of the intricacies if you’d read the previous books. Madeline, a PI, and her team have three new cases dropped in their lap in a single hour – malicious letters directed at residents of a retirement village, a missing 18 year old, and a very nasty divorce. While the team seeks to resolve all three cases at once, readers are brought along for the crazy ride. It features a fast-paced storyline, enjoyable twists, and a well-written protagonist you’ll love to hate.

Breach of Trust is the eighth book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. Once again, Madeline, Mike, and team must hit the ground running as three new, complicated, cases land on their desks. From a very contentious divorce, a father’s desperate plea for help, to malicious poison pen letters- the team will need to divide and conquer. Facing challenges is all in a days work for this plucky team- but there are some emotional stumbling blocks, especially for Madeline, as unsettling similarities between her current case and her harrowing past personal experience puts her on alert. What happens definitely makes for a riveting read….. I devoured the book in one sitting as I needed to know how everything would play out in the end.
This is another exciting instalment in this fabulous series and Ms. Hamilton has, once again, upped the ante here by crafting fresh, new, exciting, and gripping investigations for MDPI (and us) to sink their (our) teeth into. This story is full of challenging investigative details, private investigating procedures, stalking, suspicious business dealings, danger, drama, malicious torment, harassment, undercover PI work, secrets, lies, desperate deals, tension, adventure, mystery, suspense, intrigue, and so much more.
As with the other books in the series, this could be read as a standalone- but having said that, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as even though each book is self-contained, and each delivers its own fantastic read- all combined, they really help to build detail, character information and development, and impart other important and intriguing information that builds a bigger picture and offers insightful crumbs, which will definitely enhance your overall reading experience. Trust me guys, it really is worth starting this series at the beginning!
Cynthia Hamilton is one of my favourite authors, and Madeline Dawkins is one of my ‘must read- no questions asked’ series that I have loved since devouring book one. I doubt if I will ever tire of her adventures- so, the next instalment can’t come quickly enough!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Cynthia Hamilton!

Madeline Dawkins and company are at it again with another mystery or three to solve! Just when things seem to hit a lull, MDPI scores three new cases in a day to investigate.

Case 1 involves a girl who is missing. She has recently escaped a cult and is wandering around trying to find a place to fit in while trying not to be found by the cult members.

Case 2 involves a series of mystery letters at a local assisted living home. One of these letters led to someone taking their own life….or did they?

Case 3 involves a crazy soon-to-be ex-husband who is hiding all kinds of treasures from his soon-to-be ex-wife. She’s the one who stands to lose everything but hopefully that can be avoided!

Things are getting a little busy so the team decides to split up to divide and conquer. This is going to take some coordination, lots of coffee, some patience, and maybe the rustling of some feathers to close these cases!

I have only read one other book by this author but she is quickly finding a way to my top list of authors. This book is fast-paced and full of adventure. I could hardly wait to see what was going to happen next with these cases. This book is part of a series but it’s not necessary to read previous stories to appreciate this one. I need to go back and read the first six in this series! If you love a great mystery involving a private eye, this is for you!

This series is fantastic and this is another great book to add to the collection. I always find it so easy to reconnect with these characters and pick back up with their story. I like that they are keeping my interest even though we are eight books into the series.
This particular story is fast paced with a lot going on. Juggling three cases at once would be challenging for most and yet the story, characters and author handled it with ease. I didn’t get confused by any of them and could follow along which each case. I looked forward to the resolution of them all. I have enjoyed this latest addition and will be looking forward to more.

Breach of Trust is the eighth book in The Madeline Dawkins series. This can be read as a standalone and enjoyed. I recommend reading the earlier books first to enjoy them fully. Madeline and Mike are back at it with a busy workload. Hit with three cases at the same time, and they tackle all of them. I know this can sound like a lot to handle in one book, but the author takes the storytelling well without leading to a confusing or bogged-down read. I always enjoy the dialogue between Madeline and Mike. One of the cases involves a horrible ex-husband that Madeline relates to all too well. Also, one of the cases involves a senior retirement village with a poison pen writer.
Even though we have the same primary characters in each book, they are still developing and have yet to get stale. Madeline has come a long way since the first book. I look forward to reading more in this series.

A missing person case, anonymous letters, and a divorce case that will give you chills…these are the fun things that Mike and Maddie get to look into in this installment of the Madeline Dawkins series. I found the story quite exciting and action packed. It’s fairly fast-paced and full of drama. The characters are all pretty relatable. I will be waiting to see what happens with a certain beloved senior citizen. For having three storylines basically going at the same time, I enjoyed how well they were all tied in together. It felt smooth and flawless. This is my third foray into this series. I will have to go back and start from book 1.
