This book was just okay for me – it was hard for me to get into. The story is a romance with a lot of suspense. There are mafia ties, violence, and danger. The characters were well developed, but I just couldn’t connect with them or the story. Viviana has a vendetta against the people who killed her best friend – this is where the storyline begins. It takes us on her attempt to get revenge. There are some very spicy scenes in the book – for those who like that.
This author never disappoints! Viviana was on a mission for vengeance for her friend. Nothing would stand in her way. Nazario was on a mission to kill his father, but he would need to stop her from doing before he was ready. She should hate the son of her enemy and she did, but there is a fine line between love and hate. Would they come together or destroy each other?
I always get excited when I see a new book from this author as I have read and enjoyed so many of hers and this was no exception. I will admit with was a dark romance read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well written with a great pace and flow to it. I loved the twists and turns and the characters were great to read about. This had a really gritty storyline that kept me turning the pages so I could see what was going to happen. The characters Nazario and Viviano were both really strong – I found them really interesting to read about especially Nazario – he was certainly different to what I expected! I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy the romance on the darker side! You won’t be disappointed!
This was a great read. I have enjoyed everything this author had written in the past and this was no different. This story is very dark as well as steamy. What I love about the characters is just when you think you have them figured out you realise you don’t at all. The attraction and chemistry between Nazario and Viviana is strong and instant. Viviana is a strong female until she is with Nazario the she becomes so submissive to him. Viviana is a big surprise in this story. Nazario is a hard character to figure out, one minute I loved him and the next I hated him. One things for sure once you meet these characters you never forget them.
Viviana is set on a course for revenge. After Nazario’s father kills her friend Viviana will stop at nothing to make sure he pays. Even if that means pretending to be his mistress. All she thinks about is revenge until something gets in her way Nazario. Nazario wants his father gone too but at his hand. He knows how much he stands to gain from his father demise but also how much danger Viviana is in even trying to get revenge herself. Will they work together to rid the world or his father or will Viviana be hell bent on doing this her way? And what happens when his father is gone? Will they live HEA? Or will the new found power go straight to Nazario’s head? Will getting revenge against his father help Viviana heal or will it send her down a road she can’t escape from?
This story has it all, danger, secrets, lies, passion, revenge, and is a story you will not be able to put down or forget.
Anise storm is legendary, this specific book wasn’t my favourite which is understandable due to the fact that so many of her others are. The plot was great, the characters complex and held all the chemistry. There was just something missing for me, which is a personal problem and not something that reflects on the author or the book! It is well written and gives all the spice and thrill. I read in one sitting because like all of her others in my library, I needed to see what happened! Was not disappointed with the ending!

Deadly Intentions by Anise Storm is a dark romantic suspense with a quest for revenge, mafia ties, drama, secrets, violence, danger, intrigue, agendas, angst, intensity, steam, emotion, chemistry, sizzle, and suspense. A quest for revenge turns out to be far more complicated than Viviana had planned, especially when feelings get in the way. What happens makes for a tense read. I really wanted to love this story so much more than I did, as Ms. Anise normally delivers a captivating read… and for a while there I thought I might love this. But along the way I fell out of ‘like’ with our MC, and he left me feeling conflicted- not in a good way. Then there were the flashbacks and re-recaps that rehashed details that we already knew, pulling me out of the story and breaking the flow, which frustrated me to death. Maybe I have just had an ‘off’ reading experience here- and I certainly won’t hold this against the author, as she has written some great stories. This story has the makings of a movie. It has the action and adventure of love. A classic revenge plot but with a twist of falling for the wrong guy. Viviana is just trying to get revenge for her friend but she gets that tingly feeling about Nazario. Could she get her revenge or end up dead? Maybe she’ll find love? Worth the read to find out.
Deadly Intentions is a deliciously erotica romance tale that lives up to its name. Anise Storm has magic fingers when it comes her writing. I love her work that I have read most of her books. It is raw, dark and gritty and it is a captivating read. The darker, the grittier the better I say. A dark mafia thriller romance gets the heart pumping. With enough danger and violence, secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear, intrigue to keep the pages turning. I did at times find there was repeated information as with the flashbacks then reiterating it again wasn’t necessary. Nazario is a character you will either love to hate or hate to love. He becomes quite a different man not someone likeable. His moods are like being on a rollercoaster. Just when you think you understand his actions he proves you wrong. Viviana was a strong and sassy woman but that all changed when she was around this man. She did surprise me though and didn’t see it coming. Revenge is sweet or is it?

I was drawn to this book because of my love for this authors writing, mafia stories and lets face it we all need something a little dark from time to time but I have to admit I went on a real rollercoaster of like and dislike with this book for a little while at first but I 100% came out on the side of like! The complex characters and storylines will definitely hook you and have you turning page after page with the need to find out what on earth is going to happen! This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. This is not my first book but it is one of my favorites. I enjoy her writing skills which bring life to her stories. They are engaging and hard to put down. This book is no different. The characters pulled me into their world from the start. They add so much to the story which makes it easy and entertaining to read. They are connectable and supportive of each other. They have great growth throughout the story which just added to it. The twists and turns are like no other. They had me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. This is a story you don’t want to miss for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.
This book started with steam right out the gate. It has everything that you would expect from a dark romance with mafia. The FMC was set out for revenge and found a lot more than that. The MMC is your typical broody mafia guy with a chip on his shoulder concerning his dad. He also has a huge heart and even though he is seeking a revenge of his own he is always wanting what is right for the FMC. Even if that means going through some things. It is the “I will do what is best for you even if it kills me,” type of vibe. It has page turning adventure and twists that you don’t really see coming but once they are there, you wonder why you didn’t think about that to begin with. The steam is there and it is intense at times but it doesn’t deter from the story line. It enhances the love that you feel growing between that characters. I highly suggest reading this book for some steamy, twisted, traumatic, adventurous fun. It is a page turner that you won’t want to put down. Reviewed by: @bbohls

Wow! What an intense mafia romance. Viviana’s best friend is murdered by the mafia. Nazario, son of the murderer, is hot for her. I can’t tell you anymore. You have to read it to find out. The story is full of romantic suspense and drama. A definite story of good vs evil with some steam on the side. I loved the flow of the story. The characters were well-written. I was shocked to see some go dark, even as a undercover thing. Fantastic book that you should read. This author writes romantic suspense that just grabs you by the hand and says “Let’s go on a little trip.”

Book two of the series and only getting better. I was so pleased with how well balanced this book was. There was a perfect storm of steam and drama. The characters were well thought out and phenomenal. You couldn’t help but be drawn right into the book unable to step away even for a moment. Overall this was a very good book. The plot moved along that it did not become stale but had twist and turns so that it wasn’t easy for the reader to guess. The beginning started out just a little confusing, I think more context was needed but that was very easy to overcome! Even having not read the first one it did not take away from this book!

This is one of those Mafia stories that shows it all. The inner workings of the Mafia families, the fights, the shootouts. The author does an amazing job with character building too. Emelia is a badass spitfire who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. While Dominic is the underboss who is protective of her from the jump. Enemies to lovers in one of the most dangerous worlds possible. Definitely worth the read.

This story follows Dominic and Emelia, who get tangled up after a battle between the two crime families in Las Vegas leaves Emelia in the hands of her enemy. The good is that the overall plot and character development are decent; it’s an interesting storyline. There are some things I wasn’t all that impressed with, though, and some of it bordered on annoying. The use of “capiche” to emphasize certain statements struck me as a bit tacky in the dialogue. Some of the push-pull between the main characters felt forced or just not entirely plausible. There were a few points where the characters get flirty or frisky shortly after some big tragic event takes place, so it feels like the reader is getting steamrolled a bit for the sake of some manufactured sizzle.

I thought that this series couldn’t get better then this book came out. Dominic and Emilia as a couple surpasses Salvatore and Adrianna. Both are fiery, headstrong and passionate. Their loyalty for those that they love, unsurpassed. Emilia is caught in the crosshairs of the war and lucky for her, Dominic crossed her path. From the moment that Dominic set eyes on her, he knew that she was the forbidden fruit but he couldn’t help himself.
Action, betrayal and lies fill the pages of this book, along with passion, attraction and love. Dominic is no nonsense, truthful and ruthless. Emilia is headstrong, sexy and sassy. What a couple! I definitely recommend this book. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Dominic and Emilia are not supposed to be together, members of competing crime families. But plans change and lives rearranged. There is no way there won’t be blow back if they are ever found out.
This is book 2 in this series but can totally be read as a stand-alone. There are references to other family members from book one but not enough that the reader would have unanswered questions. Do you want to read the first book? Of course. No reason at all not to read this authors book. Period.
Unable to put this book down I could have easily finished it in one day. But something about my family needing me and having to go to work always interrupts my reading time.
The Larussios are an Italian Crime family, their enemies are the De Rosas. When one family believes they have been insulted or crossed, there will be a bloodbath in return. This story has no shortage of anger, blood and violence. Luckily though it also has a good share of sexy times and alpha protection.
This book is not recommended for sensitive readers or those under 18 years old. But definitely for those readers looking for excitement and a wild ride.

This is book 2 in the Sicilian God’s series. I am completely in love with these books. There is so much going in the stories that you feel like your holding your breath to find out what happens. There are so many twists and turns that always keep you guessing. There is danger and action as we learn about the war between Mafia families and their need for revenge and retribution. As well as all this we have the passion and desire we get from our main couple in the stories in this case it’s Dom and Emelia.
Emelia is the daughter of the De Rosa family. She was born and raised a Mafia princess. Dominic calls her a wildcat and he is not wrong. She isn’t the meek and mild princess people think. She has guts and can handle herself and she won’t let nothing or no one stop her from protecting her family. Even the enemy.
Dominic was never ment to fall in love with her. She’s the enemy after all. Nothing good can come from it but there is no denying the attraction and feelings between them. Dominic is prepared to risk it all, even disobeying his own family to be with Emelia. No matter the cost she is his.
What unravels is a whirlwind of a tail where deceit and secrets start to unravel, enemies are everywhere and you don’t know who you can trust. Will Dominic and Emelia’s forbidden relationship stand any chance of survival? Or will the waring families end it before it begins?

The fight that Emelia has within her is outstanding. The trauma she has endured and still to be strong enough to push herself is inspiring. As a mafia bosses daughter, she is used to death and deceit, but I do not think she was prepared for the havoc she had to endure after watching her family die before her eyes. I cannot express enough the jealousy I have of the fight she has within her. THEN, you get into this romance that comes in like a wrecking ball. To be able to love and trust after everything Emelia has gone through is even more inspiring.
Now about Dominic.. who would not be attracted to the strength that Emelia has? It is really no surprise that he falls in love with her. The strong and rather possessive soldier that Dominic is makes the enemies to lovers fantasy that much more enjoyable. From the characters to the plot, from beginning to end, this book is fantastic. You do not need to read the first book to understand the second, but I plan on going back and devouring the first!

This is book 2 in the series, and I loved it just as much as thee first if not more. So much happening that keeps you hooked and guessing what happens next. I think you should read book 1 before this one so that you get the full story. It was easy going from book 1 to book 2 and I am so glad I got to read them back to back and didn’t need to wait. Dominic Larussio is the underboss for a vicious Italian Mob Family. Enemies of the Italian Mob Family will suffer in the most brutal ways at his hands and he has a reputation for showing no mercy to their enemies while settling scores. When a rival Italian Mob Family wages war against the Larussio family Dominic kidnaps their daughter, Emelia, so that he can obtain information from her about her family. What he does not expect is to find himself attracted to her and feel the desire to keep her safe.
Emelia is not the delicate little flower that Dominic expected and instead turns out to be full of surprises of her own. She can stand her own ground and puts up a fight that Dominic is not prepared for. Emelia also finds herself attracted to Dominic and tries to fight her feelings. Against their better judgement Dominic and Emelia find themselves in a relationship that they must keep secret from both of their rival families.
A war between rival mob families turns into an unexpected romance between members of each family as enemies turn into lovers. I found this to be an interesting twist on how love can suddenly come at the most unlikely time. The characters were well written, and the story was crafted beautifully with vivid descriptions that made me feel as though I was there with them as the action and romance unfolded. Dominic had a reputation for being cold, cruel, and ruthless as an underboss but as the story unfolded, we saw that there was a tender side to him. Emelia had a reputation for being a pampered princess but as it turns out she can protect herself when needed and can be as savage and merciless as any of the men in her mob family. This book was full of action, suspense, mystery, romance, and passion. A great read!
