This might have been the author’s first foray into the mafia genre, but Damn! What a first shot!! I was invested, hooked, thrilled from the first page of Chapter One. The story was fun. The characters are real and believable. The banter between Aly and Luca is witty and funny.

Luca Rossi has never had an easy life. Luca had the fortune of meeting Mafia Boss Nicoli Rossi on one of the worst days of Luca’s short life. The only good to come out of it was that Nicoli adopted Luca. That day and the change of fortune would ripples in Luca’s life forever. When Luca was trying to make his bones and protect his family, he stumbled across her. She was young, strong, beautiful and addictive.

She is Aly Mancini, illegitimate daughter of the Rossi’s family rival. The day she met Luca, Aly didn’t know who he was but she knew he was dangerous and deadly. Luca kept turning up whenever Aly needed him for the next 6 years. Aly claimed that she hated his intrusion into her life but, secretly, she felt safe and protected knowing that he would be there for her.

When Aly’s father decides that she has to marry to keep the family strong, Aly doesn’t want to do it. Luca agrees. Luca takes Aly. Is Aly just another pawn in the ongoing feud between the families or does Luca really love her?

The story has so many twists and turns. My heartbroke right along with Luca’s when he thought he was betrayed. My pulse raced when Aly was in danger. The pages flew when plans were being made. My screen got all foggy during the steam! Please tell me Book 2 is coming soon!

I enjoy a good Mafia-based book. This book, however, just didn’t do it for me. The writing was decent and the story kept me interested. It was just that it wasn’t my cup of tea when it comes to Mafia-based books. Luca and Aly were cute.

What a brilliant start to a new series. I was hooked on this book from the moment I started reading. Aly and Luca were so addictive and captivating. I loved their chemistry, the connection was just so strong. The story seemed to mold itself around them. It has been quite a while since I have read a series with such a strong start. Luca Rossi takes what he wants at all costs. So when he finds out Aly is about to be married. He does what he needs to do, kidnapping Aly to stop her from getting married. He loves her and she feels safe and protected with him, that’s all that should matter. But now a war has set into place between the Rossi’s and the Mancini’s. Two rival mafia families fighting over this young couple is only one reason they clash. This young couple stands between them, is their love strong enough to endure this war? What an exciting and high energy read. I love this story and the characters. This author is new to me, therefore I have found another great series to read. I will be looking forward to seeing where this series goes. Be prepared, this story will take you through many emotions as it did me. NO Spoilers!

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins, #0.5)Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve recently gotten into mafia books, and this was a great addition to the collection. The book starts out with Luca as a young orphan who runs the streets with his friends, pickpocketing unsuspecting victims. After getting caught in the act by a couple of mafia bosses, one of them takes him in as a son.

As an adult, Luca encounters the teenage daughter of an enemy boss as he’s leaving the scene of a crime, and Aly’s pass on ratting him out to her father forges an unlikely alliance between the two, which grows over time with random encounters.

As Aly grows on the fringe of the mafia, not quite fully under her father’s protection since her mother was his mistress, and never taking money from him to avoid his rule, she’s able to build a successful business. But, when her mother falls ill, she turns to her father to help with her medical care and finds herself sucked into her father’s business.

Things take a turn for the worse when her brother, the heir of the business, is killed, and her father decides it’s time for Aly to step up and marry into another mafia family to forge a stronger alliance. Held captive by her father until the wedding, Luca shows up to rescue her, but neither are sure how much to trust the other.

Luca declares he’ll marry Aly, and she finds herself still trapped, but in a different setting. Things heat up between the two and their bond is tested when Aly’s father gives her poison to kill Luca. Faced with deciding between allegiance to her family or the man who’s somehow always shown up to protect her when there was no one else, Aly must decide her own fate.

A great slow-burn romance with lots of twists and turns!

I loved it and couldn’t put it down. This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites to read.
I was drawn in right from the beginning. Love this series.

We get dual POV, I really loved these two. We get a little back story and start when they are younger and go through the years. At one point Aly meets Luca, her silence earns his protection even though he is the enemy. Then when Aly is 21 things take a pretty big twist and she finds herself in a position she never thought she would be in. Luca has a plan and that includes Aly, will he be successful?

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t get through the book fast enough to see what was coming next. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great mafia series, I highly suggest this one. 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

If you love a good mafia romance you would absolutely love Sinful Vow. Luca and Aly are quite the duo. They both have their own past that comes to haunt them, but together they can get through anything. This is an unpredictable enemies to lovers story with fierce banter, rival mafia families and steamy romance! A little dark and dirty 😉 What is not to love <3

Aly meets Luca when she is 16 years old, and he is already a killer in the Italian Mafia. Romeo and Juliet are referenced and it’s accurate in saying that their two families hate each other, and blood will be spilt. We get to see Aly grow up and make choices that no woman should ever have to make. Family or Love? She’s not the only one that has to make that choice by the time the book is finished. A few twists of fate, bad decisions and some unpredictable moments had me turning pages eagerly to see what comes next.

Incredible mafia story
Strong alpha male lead, equally strong female lead and lots of action on between. The author did a fantastic job of building the suspense and letting things play out naturally within the story. The anticipation at times was killing me. Luca and Aly’s relationship was like a rumbling volcano. The writing and world building is brilliant. Highly recommend.

I have only recently started reading dark mafia books, man have I been missing out! This series sucks you in and doesn’t let go. My heart loved this couple, Luca and Aly, and I was rooting for them the whole time. The idea of rivaling mafia families with forbidden love, takes me back to Romeo and Juliet, just with a happier ending. Aly’s father arranges a marriage that is suitable for Aly, but Luca and Aly are having none of it. Will their love start a war between the two families are be able to bring their rivalry to an end?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. Luca and Ally have this burning chemistry whenever they are together. Both from rival mafia families and the cause of an upcoming war between the two. I couldn’t put the book down. I was obsessed with Luca and how he always watched Aly from afar and helped whenever she needed him. He actually wanted her and not as an arrangement or property. This book was a treat to read for me! I do highly love my passionate books as well as Mafia books. This one was a true engagement from the start, the spice and temptation it brought on, was more than amazing. It was a perfect blend. More like a dessert where you take one bite, and you know you want more.

Something I really enjoyed about this one, I loved the characters yes. They made the story, with out a doubt. The darkness in this book, between the events, as well as the characters really, and I mean really, made me get sucked into this gem of a novel. It was a good read, but not all lollipops and daises between the characters. There was the darkness I would say within a lot of the characters that had to be expelled out of them at different times. And to me that made the characters very relatable and real!

Also the chemistry between Aly and Luca was the spiciness I love and enjoy with all my heart. The moments they shared together, my kindle was needing a fan on it I swear. You really felt the lust and the passion between them. Knowing the darkness within each other, it did not stop the suspense of the feelings of when ever they were near. What I loved about that, was it was not just about that, there was so much more. Even though they did not want to show it to the world, it was there. Through the reading the characters development was perfectly done. I will be reading more of this series with no doubt!

I loved the writing style of this amazing author, and how they suck you in and hold you there as you live on every word, and wonder with anticipation what will happen next! A must read author and certainly a must read book! Highly recommend up Don’t pass this book up, you wouldn’t pass up dessert would you?

What happens when you are born into a world that does not want you, thinks you’re a cast off. Well, that’s me Aly the illegitimate child of one of the most powerful men in the town. No-one dares to touch me until one night I witness a stranger running away from a gunshot, but he turns and stands in front of me, although I am scared, he just captivates me. He vows to protect me even from my family.

Luca started life on the street a nobody, but one chance meeting and his life has changed forever. Now part of one of the biggest crime families in the town he is destined to become the Don when his father steps down, but one night he makes a mistake and saves a damsel in distress. Later, she captivates him, and Luca cannot give her up, the only problem she is the daughter of there enemy and will he be able to have his girl and keep the peace.

This story is full of action from the first page, seeing Luca’s start in life till now you understand why there is such rivalry with the Rossi’s and Mancini’s. Luca is captivated with Aly but he see’s away to get back at Mancini with making his daughter fall in love with him and this will be the ultimate betrayal. Although when Aly’s brother Jonny and the next in line for the Mancini line is killed, Aly’s father must find away to keep her the next in line to takeover the family but of course this goes wrong.

I love the character of Aly, she is full of sass and determination to become the woman she wants to be, within the mafia world she has seen how they have treated her mother and is determined that is not going to happen to her. Although when Luca comes into the picture, she is fascinated by him although at first, they are frenemies she then starts having feeling towards him and eventually they both can’t hide their true feelings anymore.

The characters in this story are so well developed and rich, the story is powerful but shows that there is a soft side to rugged men and that love does win out in the end. I can’t wait to read more books in this series and by this author.

This action packed and tension filled tale is full of twists and turns. It is dark, raw, and gritty, intense, and entertaining, and full of emotions. It is a little steamy, with chemistry, a lot of angst and plenty of suspense. He is addicted, obsessed, he is dangerous, deceptive, full of lies and secrets and oh so sinful. Their families are mortal enemies, and he takes what he wants, this time though in doing so there will be an all-out war. Falling for the enemy is nothing short of death, pain, and misery but in the end, he must make her his. No one else can have her. He makes her feel safe, secure. He is all consuming.

I love curling up to a great mafia, dark romance and this was a perfect read. Right from the beginning I was entranced with the dual POV of Aly and Luca. Two rival mafia families and forbidden chemistry make this story sizzle. Luca is intriguing, protective, alpha and part of the Rossi family. Aly is smart and strong and part of the Mancini family. When they meet, you can just feel Luca’s presence in protecting Aly, even though she is from a rival mafia family. Things turn when Aly has an arranged marriage by her father and Luca was not having none of that to the point the families were about to have a war over it. I loved the action, twists, turns and steamy chemistry between Luca and Aly!

This story finds Luca and Aly on opposite sides of the Mafia. Aly the “secret” daughter that no one acknowledges but yet they all protect and Luca, the orphan who was adopted into the Mafia and made a son.
Luca vows to always protect Aly and he keeps his word up to the day that he takes her for his own.
WONDERFUL character building, I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.

This is a great start to the series. It is dark in spots and the author’s writing style brings the story to life. I was pulled into the story by the characters and kept engaging to the end. The twists and turns made the story not only pop but also hard to put down. This is a mafia romance story where the characters are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. It is a fast paced story about what happens when an arranged marriage turns out to be more than what is bargained for. I enjoyed the characters’ connection and chemistry. Their growth as well as the plot growth throughout the story made the story easy to read. It is a great story that I really enjoyed and is worth the pick up. I’m going to start off by saying that this is not the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly is my favourite, in fact it’s actually my favourite mafia read to date!

I completely devoured this book, I read it in record time as I couldn’t get enough of these characters, I was so captivated by the storyline that I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. The chemistry between the main characters is so unbelievably strong it could be felt through the pages, I feel like I’ve never rooted for a couple more!

This book had everything I look for in a mafia read, it was dark, detailed, action-packed, tragic, shocking, steamy and of course over the top. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next mafia read!

Sinful Vow is the first novel in the Dark Mafia Sins series by Emily Bowie. Luca Rossi is an orphan who, after a chance encounter when a prank goes wrong, becomes the heir to the Rossi mafia family. Aly is the daughter of the head of the Mancini family, the Rossi’s rival. When Luca meets Aly she is only 16, he becomes her shadow for the next few years maintaining his distance but making sure she is safe. When Aly is betrothed to someone else, Luca decides he has had enough waiting and makes his move. However, lines become blurred when what initially was a power move against a rival family becomes more. This is a fast paced steamy mafia romance with very likable characters. I really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Steamy, action-packed and gripping! This book has it all. Sinful Vow follows a “forbidden” steamy love story, but is equally so much more. It explores betrayal, trauma and emotional turmoil through the eyes of top mafia families. I loved this story from the very start, I could not put it down! Particularly, I really liked the balance between sexy and action. Additionally, I became quite invested in the characters as they were very well developed throughout the story.

There was nothing that I disliked about this story, only that I want to read more about the timeline gaps early on. Although, this doesn’t impact the plot at all. Overall, this story was perfect for me. If you are a fan of complex love stories with twists and turns along the way, then this book is for you! I cannot wait to read what comes next.

These books are outstanding! I love the twisty story which filled me with hope, shock and a What? WHAT?! responses. I enjoy how the author drags me into this world with the simply wonderful character and fast paced story. We really get a deep deep dive into Luca Rossi. How he became a boy being groomed to take over, how his secrets and loyalty helped and hindered him but mostly how his family and their love made him the man he is today. Aly is the opposite. She didn’t have the support or love of her given name. She had to learn a lot just to survive in this world. Both of these characters had a lot of growth throughout the story.

I read this fairly quickly and I am eagerly looking forward to more in this series.

This is the first book in a new Mafia series. I had high hopes for this book as I love Mafia romance books and I had previously read, and enjoyed, one by this author. I’m so glad to say that it totally lived up to my expectations and more. I absolutely loved this book.
I was totally gripped to Luca and Aly’s story. The story gripped me from the very first chapter and continued to keep me gripped and entertained right to the very end. As with most mafia romance books there is a lot of violence, danger, drama and intrigue. In addition to this, it’s also a fantastic enemies to lovers story as Luca and Aly belong to opposing mafia families who have hated each other for years.
I loved reading about Luca and Aly. Both are fascinating characters and I can say that the author has done a great job in creating these characters. I could have read about them for hours and hours. Luca isn’t used to women being sassy and answering him back and that’s exactly what he gets with Aly.
If this first book in the series is anything to go by, then this is going to be an awesome series. Definitely recommend.
