Miller is a fantastic talent and I loved this book. I really enjoyed listening to the book I had become found of and found that it opened up the world even more immediately to my senses. I loved this book and enjoyed listening to the audio performance. Recommend both highly.

This is a fantasy story with a lot of action and adventure. Nesa Miller is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing style flows gently throughout her story. There were enough action and adventure to carry through to the end of the story. This is the first book in this series and I cannot wait to see what is coming up in the next book. I felt as if was on a roller coaster ride because of the twists and turns, ups and downs, and action to keep me turning pages until the last page. The characters are engaging and fully developed. There is so much depth to the characters that keep the story going. This story is about Etain. Throughout her life, she was told fairy tails about Alamir. Like some fairy tales in our world, it was told to her to teach lessons. She was learning about her destiny in the fairy tales. Will these stories help her with her current situation? This story is a must-read especially if you love fantasy stories as much as I do.

I knew I had to find out what this book was all about the moment that I set my eyes on the cover! It is gorgeous and pulls the reader in without even needing a word read. I was so excited to find that the adventure inside was more than enough to live up to the enticing cover. This is a dark fantasy read that keeps the reader engrossed in the characters from the very first page until the very last word. We delve into a world of fairytale with creatures that hold magic. We see dwarves and humans clashing and Valentina and Nisse will have to work together to bring them peace that both sides desire. I really loved the adventures these two found themselves in and how I was transported to this magical world so much so that I felt as if I was walking right next to them as they made their way. I couldn’t get enough of this book and found myself reading well past my bedtime to find out how it would all come to an end and now I anxiously await more from Pippa J. Frost!

This book was great! It is my first book by this Author and also my first book by this Narrator. I thought this book was attention grabbing and I was excited to see where the story would go. Etain is our main charcter and she is an interesting one. She is strong and determined and you can’t help but like her. The author did an awesome job at keeping the story going and I enjoyed that this had some originality to it because I’ve never listened to anything like it. I will say it took a while for me to get use too the narrator. She had a very high voice at times and it threw me off a bit but it didn’t take away from the story and I still liked it a lot. I am looking forward to listing to more of this authors stories and I would recommend this to a friend! Happy Listening!

This is the first book in the Blood of Kaos series and what a first book. It gripped me from the first page. The characters are so well written and the description of the fantasy land really drags you in. The story itself is heartbreaking and dark. What I really love is the lead character Etain is a really strong fiesty female character who will stop at nothing to get the answers she wants.
After her family was murdered by a demon Etain starts the journey to find out who was responsible for their death. She seeks the help of the Lord DarkKnight Dar to find the answers. But by joining his clan she has become a warrior so her mission is put on hold to serve Dar and the clan.
Their relationship is strong and deep but when they both start having feelings that are more than just boss and employee things start to get complicated.
The twist and turns of their relationship and their relationships with others such as Etain’s sister Faux, Dar’s evil brother Medir and the unknown element which is FreeBlood is gripping and captivating.

Etain is looking for the assassin, hunting him down before he harms her family. All those years her father told her fairytales and made up stories. But we’re they really made up? Seems she will need some of the knowledge she gained while listening. Her family is gone and she is all alone.

Frost has really outdone herself with this book! Fantastic writing and realistic characters. House of Illusions is a great story with all kinds of twists and turns.
Valentina is a normal human girl. Well, she thought she was. The one she is in love with has left, but she isn’t sure if he feels the same. Left to deal with her parents death and her brother’s bad habits things aren’t as they seem. The quote I choose for Valentina is: “They keep my mind busy and off what lies beyond these walls.”
Nisse has left the village to travel among the world. Adventures he can’t wait to go on. When the thoughts of a young girl keeps entering his mind he comes home. What he sees angers him as he knows her brother isn’t treating her correctly. He loves her, but knows she’d never feel that way for him. The quote I choose for Nisse is: “If she will have me.”
Highly recommended for the dark fantasy and romance lovers.

My first read by the author and wow. Miller sure knows how to write a fantasy and romance. Alamir is a fantastic book and I can’t wait for the next book.
Etain came to Alamir when her family was killed. She wasn’t looking for love, but she was looking to have revenge against her family’s killer. She found friends among the people she stays with and has also found a family. The quote I choose for Etain is: “I have been your lady since we first met. As for the other… Give me time.”
Darknight, Dar, wasn’t looking for love, but he was looking for company. He’s a twin of sorts, but doesn’t want to live with his brother. Things get difficult when he starts feeling differently. The quote I choose for Dar is: “The destruction you saw was the demolition of a past that has held me back. I do not know what the future holds, but I am ready to face it. I see now I have made a mess of it. At the end of the day, it comes down to what you want.”
Highly recommended for romance lovers with a twist of fantasy and drama. I loved this and will be waiting for book 2.

Alamir is the first book in the Blood of Kaos Series by Nesa Miller. This is an exciting read and focuses on the character of Etain. She is an interesting character who is having to decide if the fairy tales she grew up on are real or fiction. Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. This is a pretty fast paced story built in a fantasy world. I enjoyed the characters and story as well as the world building. Overall, this is an interesting start to a series. It introduced a lot of characters, and I am curious where the story will go next. I like the conflict and the struggle Etain goes through which I think helps make her a believable character. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Alamir is the first book in the Blood of Kaos Series by Nesa Miller. This is a bit of a darkish fantasy- with plenty of action, adventure, danger, paranormal elements, drama, twists, mystery, romance, wonderful world building, and intriguing characters. As I have said before, Ms. Miller really knows how to weave an engrossing story- and has also created a really impressive, original, and entirely believable world in which to set her story. So descriptive and vividly detailed, it was really easy to ‘picture’ everything as the story was brought to life before my eyes. These characters are all very interesting, fully developed individuals with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws. There is a fairly large cast of characters, but each plays their part wonderfully well, and adds interest to the overall storyline. So, if you love a great fantasy, with intriguing characters, and a wonderfully exciting plot that will keep you engrossed the whole way through- then this is definitely the book for you. A superb start for the series.

The story was well written and engaging I had no trouble at all with sinking in to it. I enjoyed reading about the characters. They were written in such a way that they complimented each other so well. Even though it is a fantasy story I could imagine them and felt like I was sharing in their journey. Alamir: Blood of Kaos by Nesa Miller is an exciting fantasy story with some really interesting characters. Etian is a strong and wilful heroine that is thrown unexpectedly into a world that she didn’t believe existed. For me this book was made by the characters. I thought each of them had a unique take about them and they all worked together to make the story stronger. The overall writing itself I found to be a little disjointed although the story was exciting to read. It definitely felt like the first book in the series and I am convinced that it will only get better as the series goes on. I am looking forward to see where the author takes this series and I am certainly looking forward to reading more of these brilliant characters.

I enjoyed this fantasy story. It brings action and an adventure you won’t soon forget. This is my favorite by this author yet. One thing I enjoy about this author is how I am pulled into the story right from the beginning and this book is no different. This is a well written story that has characters that bring the story to life. I had no issues connecting to them. This is a story about Etain. She grew up with the stories and what she thought were fairy tales about Alamir. In truth these stories were more of a teaching for her destiny. She was taken in by a clan after an assassin took her family from her. Now she is determined to find the demon. Will one encounter mean life or death for her? I enjoyed her character alot. She is a strong character that made the story entertaining and easy to read. This is a dark fantasy that I highly recommend.

This is a well developed story that kept me turning pages. The characters made the story easy to read and made the story feel realistic. This story is about Valentina and Nisse. Together will they find a way to bring peace to the dwarves and humans again? Will fate allow them to find the happiness they so deserve? They are great characters that I really enjoyed throughout the story. Together they brought the story to life. I highly recommend reading their story.

House of Illusions By Pippa J. Frost 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book House of Illusions by Pippa J. Frost. It is a fantasy story that pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the final page. I found myself lost in the pages and not wanting to put the book down. I loved reading about the characters of Valentina and Nisse. I grew to care about what happens to them with each chapter that I read. Other additional characters are also enjoyable to read about and some who are only out for themselves with their evil agenda. The author does a wonderful job in world-building and I felt like I was right there with the characters. This is a story that includes danger, a bit of romance, and a curse. The words and characters come alive from the pages and I found myself turning pages to find out what happens next. I just had to know how it all turns out. Don’t miss out on an intriguing and entertaining book that should be added to the top of your TBR list of stories. I highly recommend it.

It is a book that includes action and danger. The story is intriguing and entertaining. I loved both the storyline and the characters. Etain has to be my favorite character. Each has their part to play in the book and I found them to be interesting. The author does an amazing job of world-building. I found it original and I enjoyed how it is introduced and expanded up during the tale. I found the story to be written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with the characters. She’s hunting an assassin. A powerful chieftain’s acquaintance could be to her advantage. If she can outwit his dark secret and survive his blade….
Etain thought her dad’s stories of the Alamir as fairy tales, anecdotes about supernatural humans created to pacify the wild imaginings of a child. She never considered them an education much less preparation for her destiny.
Until a red-eyed assassin murders her family.
Scared and alone, she’s taken in by a small clan and learns their warrior ways. Moving up the ranks quickly, Etain soon realizes it will take more than a sword and her newfound powers to track down the demon.
A perilous encounter with the warrior chieftain, Lord Darknight, could be a life-changer or the death of her.
Alamir is the first novel in the action-packed Blood of Kaos Series. If you like not-so-perfect protagonists, action, and adventure, you’ll love Nesa Miller’s dark fantasy series.
I’m just a girl in the world – of writing. Originally, I hail from the great state of Texas but have been in jolly old England for the last few years. The beautiful UK has had an amazing impact on my writing, especially since the Blood of Kaos Series starts in Wales. How exciting it is to experience a real castle – whether it be a ruin or not. And the historical architecture is astounding. It changes your whole perspective, as well as raising a lot of questions. Usually, about this time, the author details all their writing accomplishments, awards, and honors. Me? I just write what I enjoy. I hope you will enjoy it, too.

4 Star Dark (The Dark Series #1) by Paul L Arvidson Dark is the first Book in The Dark Series and the first book I’ve read by this Author. I had a hard time getting into at first but the more I read and the further I got into it I had a hard time putting it down. This is not my usual genre but the more I read the more I’m starting to get into it. In this story there is plenty of action, adventure, mystery and even danger. Dun is having terrifying dreams and finds himself on a journey with a old friend, a new friend, and a mysterious Myrch. Will Dun find the answers he’s looking for? What does Dun’s future look like? Find out what happens next. I recommend reading this book. I will be checking out other books by this Autho

The first book in “The Dark Trilogy” DARK sets up a whole new world the likes of which I’ve never read before. It’s a really cool premise. New explorations and discovery.
The writing is detailed and confusing at the same time. At times it is very visual, but I’m not quite sure WHAT I was supposed to be visualizing (I know this doesn’t make sense, you have to read the book to “get it”.
I will continue with the series and I look forward to having my questions answered.
