This was a great 4 star read. I love dark Mafia reads and this one did not disappoint. My emotions were all over the place. The characters were great, you could feel their connection coming off the pages. Viviana wanted vengeance and Stefano wanted revenge. Will these two coming together help them get what they both want? We get action, steaminess and so much more in this read. I really enjoyed the ending. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I look forward to reading more from her and this series. 1-click and get started today.

You ever opened a book and gotten a few lines in and just get a chill? Like you know you’re about to go for a wild ride? That’s what happened for me with this book. This author hits some very trigging subjects very well. Triggers aren’t for everyone and that totally fine but I do appreciate how well the author does them. My only real draw back are the flash backs but that’s more of a me hold up than the author so don’t let that stop you. The characters are complex and pulled me in right away. The storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time. I’m giving this read four stars and highly recommend. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next!

(Spoilers)
I’ve read a lot of other books by this author, and she’s an author I recommend to a lot of people. I was really excited to start on this book, and it hooked me right from the beginning. Make sure you look at the content warnings before reading this book, as it does have some graphic scenes regarding SH, suicidal ideation, as well as SA and conversations about terminating pregnancies.

As I said, this book had a really strong start- revenge plot, against the MMC’s dad, Mafia romance, dark romance, forced proximity, and instant attraction. However, as the story progressed, I honestly kept disliking the MMC. I’m a fan of red flags waving in the review mirror, but honestly the MMC of this book almost made it hard to enjoy. He treated the FMC like utter trash up until like 90% of the book. And the way he was going to force her to terminate her pregnancy? No ma’am, no ham, no turkey!

I’m not a stranger to dark romances, heck, I’ve read most of the major ones on BookTok, but the way he just kept treating her throughout the book just made me disinterested in the romance sub-plot. The spice is there, but the plot just wasn’t for me. It might be your cup of tea, once again just read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, but it wasn’t a book I overly loved. However, I do still recommend this author and her other works! Go check them out!

**READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS** This is my first time reading this author, and I will surely be looking into some of her other works as well. I am not usually drawn to mafia romance, but the trigger warnings made me curious. (And if you DO have triggers, definitely don’t skip past the warnings on this one) Vivianne’s life changes when her best friend is murdered on a trip to New York. Seeking revenge, she infiltrates the mafia scene to seduce (and get close to) the head of the infamous Vaccaro family. Her plans to get close to her enemy seems to be going well….until she meets Nazario, the son of the killer (Stefano). Lucky for her, Nazario knows exactly what type of man Stefano is, and also wants his father dethroned. The two fight their passion for each other, but inevitably things get rather complicated as they give in to their love. I loved the characters and the plot, and how quickly this book was able to draw me in. Deadly Intentions is very dark and has plenty of twisted pages to keep you on edge, and if you can get past the hard parts, is definitely recommended.

The fact that this is a mafia romance, dark and disturbing moments are expected. Definitely read the author’s note to make sure this isn’t a book you bit off more than you could chew. If you decide to move forward and give it a shot you will definitely be rewarded in the amazing masterpiece this book is.

Vivianne’s life is going pretty well until one night changes everything and her best friend Donnatella is murdered on a girl’s trip in the big apple. Set upon revenge Vivianne hides the girl she once was, the quiet studious one for a more alluring vixen to attract the man she knows murdered her best friend. He just so happens to be Stefano, head of the Vaccaro crime family and notoriously despicable. As his mistress she is in a position extremely close to him to enact her plan of revenge, until Nazario, his son, enters the picture and reawakens desires she thought long gone. Nazario knows what kind of man his father is and the beauty on his arm is playing a dangerous game. Is Vivianne in way over her head? Can Nazario continue with his plan to take his father’s place as head of the crime family while also protecting a girl who turned his world upside down?

This is definitely a dark and twisty book with lots of romance, intrigue, mystery, and violence that will have you rooting for Nazario and Vivianne as they try to overcome the despicable Stefano. If you like mafia romances then definitely give this one a try you won’t regret it but definitely take the author’s warning to heart. As some dark moments may be uncomfortable to get through.

I am never disappointed by Anise Storm’s books, and this one is certainly no different! I really loved the amount of depth for each character as they each brought something to the story that felt necessary. I didn’t feel weighed down by details that could’ve easily been left out. I enjoyed the darkness of the story, but as always, the trigger warnings are deeply appreciated. Deadly Intentions is emotionally charged, full of revenge, and plenty of incredibly steamy scenes. Reading about Viviana’s elaborate quest for revenge elicits plenty of emotion…and not all negative by a long shot. I highly recommend picking this one up and giving it a chance because Anise is a brilliant author that has delivered yet another exhilarating story!

This book is so good! One of the best mafia stories I have ever read. However, it definitely comes with plenty of dark moments and a trigger warning that should definitely be read and taken into consideration. Nazario and Viviana are very complex characters and I really enjoyed reading them. They were definitely one of the most complex couples I have ever read and I definitely was unsure how each was going to act at any time. This book was full of passion and emotion and of course revenge. I definitely recommend this!

Even after reading the warning that this book came with, it was much darker and more intense than I expected. It pulled me in as soon as I started reading it and I just had to know how things would turn out. This author always knows how to create a memorable story and this is easily one of the best that she has done. I loved how dark ad gritty it was and could have read more.
The characters were all so integral to the storyline. They were strong and all really added their own mark. You could see their development as the book went on and it was genuinely fascinating to watch. I loved this story and I cannot wait for whatever is next from this author.

Phew! Make sure you read Ms. Storm’s trigger warning note before you begin! If, after that you still are in you won’t be disappointed. Our FMC lost her vivacious best friend in a NYC girls trip. In an effort to get revenge she transforms herself from studious and shy to a femme fatale with the help of a mafia family. Using her skills she becomes the mistress of the head of the Vaccaro crime family but has feelings for the son. The MMC doesn’t want to be distracted by his father’s mistress. He has goals, take down his father then take over as head of the family. Both are at odds with one another while fighting their desires. While it does get dark and does have a couple of slow parts, ultimately the story is 1000% worth the journey!

Deadly IntentionsDeadly Intentions by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this! It wasn’t entirely what I was expecting, it was a lot darker, but I enjoyed that it was different and not the same typical story I was used to reading.
The chemistry between the two main characters, Viviana and Nazario, is charged and well written, you can feel it come off the pages. They are both such strong characters, written so well and even though there were frustrating moments where you want to knock some sense into them and scream at them to just communicate, these ‘flaws’ in the characters work for their personalities and the story.
There are elements to the romance (and other plot points) which can be very dark and I would not recommend this as a read for everyone, but if you enjoy dark, suspenseful, steamy novels, then this book is for you. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading and seriously consider whether this book is right for you.
The book is very well written and flows nicely. My only criticism would be that on occasion things could feel unnecessarily repetitive, relaying information already obtained etc. but this was such a minor issue, it didn’t detract from the story for me.
The author has a great way of writing that pulls you in so not only do you see yourself in the settings, but you also find yourself feeling the emotions of the characters which was both thrilling, and heart-breaking.
This was my first book by this author, but it most certainly won’t be my last!

I recommend this book, but as previously stated read the trigger warnings first! This book is not for everyone.

Viviana was a happy teenage until one night her best friend was killed in the street in front of her. Viviana then devoted her life to tracking down her murderer and exacting the same outcome as her friend but can she infiltrate one of the most deadliest worlds and come out the other side.

Nazario is the son of a mafia boss, ruthless in nature and unyielding and unforgiving when it comes to his business, the night his father killed the Mayor’s daughter was the night that Nazario saw her, meek and mild, utterly heartbroken over her friend but he needed her to escape as he should have killed her also there and then, but she awakened something in him which has him dreaming about her now. Until one night he sees the blonde woman with his father.

Viviana has trained for this moment to seek revenge for her friend and killing Nazario’s father is her soul mission even if it means death.

Oh I love a good Mafia novel and this one is brilliant. I have read many by this author and they do not disappoint, with the driven storylines and brilliant writing you are emersed in the dark world of the Mafia and it is fascinating to read. I loved that Viviana was a strong character with determination to do anything to seek revenge but showing the passion she had in the end for Nazario was an emotional rollercoaster. Nazario’s vulnerability towards Viviana and how she has the power to destroy him but that she is worth the risks. There are some hard parts to read regarding abuse and violence, but I think this adds to the characters of the leads in this book.

I can’t wait to read more books by this author going forward.

I love myself a good mafia read and this is just what the doctor ordered !!!!

Viviana and her best friend had their lives ahead of them until she was killed in cold blood in an alley and a dark stranger with memorable eyes told her to forget everything but how can she , her best friend was killed in front of her in cold blood and while she may not have been able to save her she’s determined to avenge even if it means sleeping with the devil himself and that is just what Stefano is …..

Stefano has a son and he knows who she is it’s his “ alley girl” and he’s still wanting to protect her at any cost and there’s nothing like a mafia boy with heart to melt me into puddles , yes yes I’m a sick puppy I know 🔥🤷‍♀️🫶🏼😉

Nazario and Viviana have an extremely tangible chemistry it just pours off them and I had to jerk a fan nearby so my kindle didn’t melt 🔥

These two not only had me on fire but my nerves were shattered , they’re dark ,, beautiful and dangerous !

I found this book to be a little slow for my liking. I thought it would be a little more fast paced, but I found I lost a little interest in it about halfway. Overall, the writing, the characters, the romance, the plot itself was all well planned out are amazing, but I felt like the book was not what I thought it would be like. It felt like there was too much just stuff thrown in there that didn’t need to be, which made it drag in some spots. I did read this book in one sitting. The ending however did not disappoint, and im happy I stuck with this book till the end. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, and I would recommend if someone wanted a not so fast paced mafia romance book. But for me I needed something more.

Viviana’s life changed in an instant when her and her best friend, Donnatella, took a girl’s trip to New York City. During the trip Donna was murdered by a member of a notorious mafia family. Viviana is overcome with grief and vows revenge on the man who murdered her best friend. She spends the next decade transforming herself from quiet and meek to a sleek killing machine. When the opportunity presented itself, Viviana set her plan into motion.

Fast forward ten years from her friend, Donna’s, death, and Viviana has infiltrated the notorious Vaccaro crime family as the head member’s mistress. Stefano Vaccaro is a force to be reckoned with and has a reputation for being cold and ruthless. Viviana feels that she has prepared herself to exact her revenge when the opportunity presents itself but Stefano’s son, Nazario knows otherwise. He fears for her safety and tries to warn Viviana not to follow through with her plan, but Viviana ignores his pleas. Viviana hates him for being part of the notorious mafia crime family and knows that he is as equally ruthless as his father but is unable to deny the intense chemistry she feels towards him. Nazario is equally drawn to Viviana and vows to make her his at all costs. Before long they can no longer deny the attraction and an intense, passion filled affair develops between them. Will Stefano learn of his son and mistress’ betrayal? Will Viviana get her long sought after revenge?

This book had everything one would expect from a dark mafia crime novel; deceit, revenge, lust, passion, and betrayal. Stefano was cold, calculating and showed no remorse in anything he did throughout his career as a crime boss. Viviana was once what someone might consider to be quiet and mousy but when tragedy struck it changed her. The only thing that she could think of was exacting revenge on those responsible for the murder of her best friend. The trauma she suffered turned her into someone else and she learned to shut off her feelings until Nazario resurfaced in her life. He was the son of the man responsible for her friend’s death and although she hates him she is consumed by desire for him. Nazario feels equally attracted to Viviana and knows what her true intentions are towards his father but it does not deter him from pursuing his feelings for Viviana. The attraction is undeniable and the two of them share some passionate and steamy moments.

Know your triggers. Read and Heed the content warnings. This one has a few. Despite the dark material the story is sound and interesting. What happens when the one that ignites your soul is the one that shouldn’t, the one that can’t, is your more than just your enemy?

Viviana’s life was forever changed when she found her best friend murdered. Viviana only had one purpose after that, revenge. She found someone willing to help her to get it. A mafia family trained her to be a weapon and withstand all the brutalities that her target exhibited. The only problem with her plan was the target’s son. He wasn’t supposed to look at her with those unique eyes and relight her long dead heart. He wasn’t supposed to touch her and set her skin on fire like she never knew she would feel. He wasn’t supposed to make her feel in any way because he wasn’t supposed to be there.

Nazario knew what he was supposed to do with his life. Keep it together long enough to take his father out and then take his father’s empire for his own. Nazario wasn’t expecting a kink in his plans. He wasn’t expecting her. When Viviana showed up on the arm of his father, Nazario was shocked and doubtful of her intentions. He told her to go. He told her to let him do what he needed to do. She did not listen. Now not only are his plans at stake, but his heart and her life.

The story is carefully weaved between Nazario and Viviana’s POVs with some flashbacks for good measure. I found myself wanting to scream at the characters just to talk to each other, to explain their feelings, not just to assume or overthink the situation. But I guess that is why I am a reader not a writer. I want to know if Nazario ever gets over his hang ups about his family history and they have a baby! Solid read.

Dark, twisty, unpredictable, sex and secrets…..this story had me all twisted up and second guessing myself….why Viviana would endure and put herself through what she did but yet I totally understood….

Viviana is devastated when her best friend is brutally murdered by the hands of someone very powerful. Grief turned into revenge. Viviana seeks out Stefano Vaccaro….so methodically…and Stefano wants Viviana as his own. One thing standing in Viviana’s taste for revenge…..Stefano’s son…Nazario.

Nazario has one thing on his mind…..taking power from his father, Stefano. Nazario knows how evil his father is, ruthless and heartless….taking away two women whom Nazario loved. When Nazario knows Viviana’s plans for revenge he heeds caution but Viviana has no intent to listen… but also leads to seduction, lies, mistrust but also mindblowing attraction.

Will Viviana succeed in her revenge or will Nazario’s greed have him take out his father first?

This book was just okay for me – it was hard for me to get into. The story is a romance with a lot of suspense. There are mafia ties, violence, and danger. The characters were well developed, but I just couldn’t connect with them or the story. Viviana has a vendetta against the people who killed her best friend – this is where the storyline begins. It takes us on her attempt to get revenge. There are some very spicy scenes in the book – for those who like that.

This author never disappoints! Viviana was on a mission for vengeance for her friend. Nothing would stand in her way. Nazario was on a mission to kill his father, but he would need to stop her from doing before he was ready. She should hate the son of her enemy and she did, but there is a fine line between love and hate. Would they come together or destroy each other?

I always get excited when I see a new book from this author as I have read and enjoyed so many of hers and this was no exception. I will admit with was a dark romance read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well written with a great pace and flow to it. I loved the twists and turns and the characters were great to read about. This had a really gritty storyline that kept me turning the pages so I could see what was going to happen. The characters Nazario and Viviano were both really strong – I found them really interesting to read about especially Nazario – he was certainly different to what I expected!

This was a great read. I have enjoyed everything this author had written in the past and this was no different. This story is very dark as well as steamy. What I love about the characters is just when you think you have them figured out you realise you don’t at all.
The attraction and chemistry between Nazario and Viviana is strong and instant. Viviana is a strong female until she is with Nazario the she becomes so submissive to him. Viviana is a big surprise in this story. Nazario is a hard character to figure out, one minute I loved him and the next I hated him. One things for sure once you meet these characters you never forget them.

Viviana is set on a course for revenge. After Nazario’s father kills her friend Viviana will stop at nothing to make sure he pays. Even if that means pretending to be his mistress. All she thinks about is revenge until something gets in her way Nazario.
Nazario wants his father gone too but at his hand. He knows how much he stands to gain from his father demise but also how much danger Viviana is in even trying to get revenge herself. Will they work together to rid the world or his father or will Viviana be hell bent on doing this her way? And what happens when his father is gone? Will they live HEA? Or will the new found power go straight to Nazario’s head? Will getting revenge against his father help Viviana heal or will it send her down a road she can’t escape from?

This story has it all, danger, secrets, lies, passion, revenge, and is a story you will not be able to put down or forget.

Deadly Intentions by Anise Storm is a dark romantic suspense with a quest for revenge, mafia ties, drama, secrets, violence, danger, intrigue, agendas, angst, intensity, steam, emotion, chemistry, sizzle, and suspense.
A quest for revenge turns out to be far more complicated than Viviana had planned, especially when feelings get in the way. What happens makes for a tense read.
I really wanted to love this story so much more than I did, as Ms. Anise normally delivers a captivating read… and for a while there I thought I might love this. But along the way I fell out of ‘like’ with our MC, and he left me feeling conflicted- not in a good way. Then there were the flashbacks and re-recaps that rehashed details that we already knew, pulling me out of the story and breaking the flow, which frustrated me to death.
Maybe I have just had an ‘off’ reading experience here- and I certainly won’t hold this against the author, as she has written some great stories. I am curious to see what she does next…
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Anise Storm!

Deadly Intentions is a deliciously erotica romance tale that lives up to its name. Anise Storm has magic fingers when it comes her writing. I love her work that I have read most of her books. It is raw, dark and gritty and it is a captivating read. The darker, the grittier the better I say. A dark mafia thriller romance gets the heart pumping. With enough danger and violence, secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear, intrigue to keep the pages turning. I did at times find there was repeated information as with the flashbacks then reiterating it again wasn’t necessary.
Nazario is a character you will either love to hate or hate to love. He becomes quite a different man not someone likeable. His moods are like being on a rollercoaster. Just when you think you understand his actions he proves you wrong. Viviana was a strong and sassy woman but that all changed when she was around this man. She did surprise me though and didn’t see it coming.
Revenge is sweet or is it?

This book started with steam right out the gate. It has everything that you would expect from a dark romance with mafia. The FMC was set out for revenge and found a lot more than that. The MMC is your typical broody mafia guy with a chip on his shoulder concerning his dad. He also has a huge heart and even though he is seeking a revenge of his own he is always wanting what is right for the FMC. Even if that means going through some things. It is the “I will do what is best for you even if it kills me,” type of vibe. It has page turning adventure and twists that you don’t really see coming but once they are there, you wonder why you didn’t think about that to begin with. The steam is there and it is intense at times but it doesn’t deter from the story line. It enhances the love that you feel growing between that characters. I highly suggest reading this book for some steamy, twisted, traumatic, adventurous fun. It is a page turner that you won’t want to put down.
