Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Deanna Franks

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I tell you I RAN to kindle to read this book after reading No Way Out, it’s hardly an exaggeration. I love the characters in this series. I know mafia families are always close, considering how the men act as a family outside of the mob, but something about the way the families are in books makes me wish I was there.
Blood Oath is the perfect example of two people who were destined to be together with the stupid idea that they can stay apart, coming together! The tension is absolutely delicious. Enzo is an overprotective alpha male who tries to protect Sofia from anything and everything, but that just isn’t possible as a mafia princess. Thankfully, Sofia is more than some damsel in distress.
This book is full of action and will have you on the edge of your seat at the end. If you love mafia romance, you have to read this book!

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Deanna Franks

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book absolutely has it all. Mafia princess, arranged marriage, and a bodyguard with a hidden identity and personal agenda… No Way Out by Amy McKinley was an incredible read. Liliana is a strong female character who has a father who just views her as a pawn for his agenda. One of the things I loved most about this book was that she wasn’t a damsel, she was incredible. Max is a possessive alpha male (enough said).
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and found it easy to get into and it kept my attention the entire time. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves mafia romance as much as I do!

Shadows of Doubt (A Crawford Mystery) by Merissa Racine – Review by Deanna Franks

Shadows of Doubt (A Crawford Mystery)Shadows of Doubt by Merissa Racine

The story follows Lauren, a stenographer in small town Crawford, Wyoming, who uses the insight from her position to find the justice she wants to see served – but can her suspicions prove to be true before her friend’s nephew is charged with murder?
I had my suspicions on whether he was innocent or not. Merissa Racine does an incredible job making you go back and forth on your opinion.
What I wasn’t prepared for was for Lauren to uncover the truth at the perfect time.
The tension leading up to the final moment is absolutely delicious. This book will have your mind racing to find the killer and the motive but nothing can prepare you for the truth.

Silent Gavel (A Crawford Mystery Book 1) by Merissa Racine – Review by Deanna Franks

Silent Gavel (Crawford Mystery #1)Silent Gavel by Merissa Racine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Worth every star! I was hooked from the first line. Merissa Racine sets the perfect small town Wyoming scene when Lauren, a court reporter, enters the Judge’s house to see why she’s running late for a court appearance and walks in on her bloody body laying on the ground – making Lauren suspect number one.
I’m a sucker for a good thriller and this book is no exception. It was easy to relate to the characters and really cool to see the insight from someone inside the legal system work to prove her own innocence.
I highly recommend this novel for an intriguing page turner that you won’t be able to put down!
