Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Deb Robinson

Wildcat (MetroGen After Hours, #1)Wildcat by Carina Alyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. The way the author brought out the issue of women’s equality in the workforce was brilliant. She was able to show the good and bad of each side, leaving me as a woman angry at times and cheering at others. The relationship between two people who met accidentally at an art studio had fireworks bursting between the two. Both are very highly motivated in their field of work and show that if you fight hard enough and have the right support anything can happen.

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Deb Robinson

Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The author has hit it out of the park with this continued series. I can not get enough of this tight knit group of Italian mafia family friends. Elena has been in hiding for so long. At the end of the last book, her secret came out that she was still alive. The family went nuts. Now things have gotten too dangerous with the Russian mafia that she has to be found. Who will find her first? The Russians or the Italians? This book had so many shocks for Elena that your heart will be pulled in so many directions. If you have read the previous books, this is a must read for sure. The author brings these characters to life in each book, you feel like you would want to be friends and know them. Amazing writing.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a book I could not put down. This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I was not disappointed in any way. The author was able to grab my attention and keep it throughout the entire book. The mafia world is a scary down right competitive backdrop to this book. I loved the protective instincts of our main characters even though they come from different mafia families at war. You will find the story line very intriguing and well as keeping you on your toes with all the beautifully written plot twists. I will certainly be reading book two.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Deb Robinson

I can not even begin to say how much I loved this book.  The author has an amazing talent of taking 4 plots and seemingly knitting them together in one heck of a suspenseful tale.  Her way of bringing the characters to life makes you believe you know them or might want too.  The story begins with a bang of lies and perhaps misplaced trust causing trauma that will haunt you throughout the book. This is a heartbreaking story of pain, death, abuse, and unwavering loyalty to the MC brotherhood. If I could give this book 10 stars I would.  This is the best book yet I have read from this author.  The narration is superb and makes you envelope the story even more.  You will have all sorts of feelings as you listen to the story.  I even physically shuttered while listening.

This book was epic. It tied so many ends together in an extremely tense and dramatic fashion. The author leaves a slight hint of a possible book 4 which I would love. This series has been an intriguing tale of two love mates that should never have been. They fought together to unite all the supernatural forces against the hellspawn. We all know the war is in full swing, the question is who will win and who will remain alive. This is a definite MUST READ.

They go on an adventure that begins in India where her father works as a doctor to help the locals. Once his contract is done in India they are off for a vacation in the very cold Yukon. The story revolves around the bond between father and daughter and the strength it takes to be brave in the face of fear and the unknown. A guiding grace helps on this amazing journey.

This was such a cute and friendly book. The message of greatness is one all our children should hear daily. The author was on the perfect path in the book. I will keep this one close for when my grandson is a little older. If you have not read this book to your child, I recommend it fully. Life can change when you least expect it too. This is a warm and fuzzy book. Enjoy!!!

Master Trentino (Masters of the Consulate Book 3) by Sylvia Black – Review by Deb Robinson

Master TrentinoMaster Trentino by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. I can’t get enough of this series. Book 3 had me captivated in the first chapter and never let me go. The author has a brilliant way of making the story complex with twists and turns and yet not losing you in the details. I love that we are meeting new characters entwined with past characters that we have grown to love as well. Our main female lead is strong and doesn’t take guff from her new vampire protector. She has the unique ability to talk to the dead. Her gramma is her guiding light from beyond. In this novel you get to find out who is betraying the vampires. I was shocked. I can not wait for the next book in this series.

This author blows me away with every book I read. Bravo. I love this part 2 so much.At some point, I was ready to throw away my kindle. No, no, no. I was shouting. The way this book made me feel through was very determined to be very open minded about the people around me. The injustice that happens to people when they are different then the norm we have boxed for. This character was strong in his beliefs and wasn’t going to change for anyone. They were true to themselves. Thank you to the author for adding this perspective to the story. It was a little confusing at first but as the story progresses you get to understand and accept the differences. As always, there are so many twists and turns and drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. Love it!!

Loved Loved Loved this finale of this series. The eldest in the family and the doctor. The author was so dynamic in her story telling of this book. I literally could not put this book down. As always you get glimpses of all your favorite characters in this book as well. The closeness and struggles that come with most families. This book will have you riveted to your seat as you wait for the next foot to fall. The author does not disappoint in any way. This is a must read. I’m just sad that these wonderful characters have come to an end. I could read about them for much longer.

WOW! Just wow.  This was an amazing book.  I will state that some sexual triggers in this book. This book is based on our main female character who is strong and stubborn and brave as can be.  She stays strong even in the face of brutal fear.  She is at the MC to meet her dad after her mother dies.  She wants to know him.  The surprise of being told he had a child years ago is a shock.  The story takes several twists and turns and your emotions will be all over the place.  This author has captured my love for MC stories and the worlds she has built even between chapters.  I can’t wait to read the next one.

I so loved this series. So many answers revealed in this 4th book. All the main characters have obstacles in their way to overcome. The guys have their mothers to contend with and our strong tenacious lead character has her own task to fulfill. Quite a few surprises as well thrown in to have us cheering as well. The author has brought us full circle with a slight hint there could be a book 5. One can only hope. This series will keep you reading and enjoying every page. I don’t recommend starting in the middle of the series as you really do need all the backstory to really really enjoy these books. To the author, bravo on a wonderful book series.

Ashes of Aldyr (The Obscured Throne Trilogy Book 1) by Russell Archey – Review by Deb Robinson

Ashes of AldyrAshes of Aldyr by Russell Archey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting read about “The Rupture”. The sky ruptures and evil is unleashed on the land. The story is told in a fashion I have not read before. Each chapter or portion of the book is from the experience of the characters at that point and time. Although you are switching and reading the stories of varying people, the author keeps the basis of the story at the heart of the matter. It all really does come full circle. Some of the chapters are very gruesome and disturbing. This was a dark fantasy that makes you think of the evils of the world.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A short but poignant book. On the surface this book is a wonderful love story of finding a mated bond. When you look beyond the surface the story brings an awareness of racism and fear of others different then yourself. The author shows that love comes at any time in one’s life whether you are ready for it or not. The strength of our elders is given to the next generation to be brave and stand up for what they believe in no matter the consequences. A very enjoyable quick read.

I just finished No Way Out. Wow. How so many families intermix and become enemies and allies. Lilianna is the daughter of mafia boss Benito. She is property and nothing else. She is to be used as a pawn to ensure alliances and power are gained. In the background forces from another side are trying to bring Benito down and save Lilianna in the process. This book had so many twists and turns. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, you get turned in a different direction. Author Amy McKinley did an excellent job bringing you into the mafia world. Going to be reading book 2. That’s a guarantee.

Red’s Peril Part 1: The making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter) by Manda Mellett – Review by Deb Robinson

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Author Manda Mellett had me in tears about 3 or 4 times in this book. She spins the story so you are emotionally invested in the characters. You feel like you know them and you certainly feel their happiness and trials. Red’s story can be broken down in several categories. He has gone through so much, from losing his dad and others close to him. He finds himself leaving on the road to who knows where but somewhere with no snow. The feeling of freedom to get on your bike and just ride south with no destination in mind. That would be amazing to almost all of us. Even if just for a short while. Red finds himself in Tucson Az where the story really starts to take off into the land of MC. Loved Loved Loved this book. The characters interact with characters from other books which I love but are not necessary to read if you start with this book. Amazing amazing author. You will not be disappointed with any book from Manda Mellett.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Deb Robinson

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the continuing story of the Broderick Coven. All the brothers and sisters have such unique personalities, the author does a great job of portraying throughout all the books. This is the story of Mia and Edward. Mia grew up as a hippie/ flower child with an affinity for earth magic while Edward was a total loner after his dad died. He even pulled away from his growing family of siblings and their mates. Edward has the talent of helping others succeed. Mia and Edward could not be more opposite but when love is in the air, who knows what is going to happen to this dynamic couple. I’m not going to give the ending away but book 6 will be on the horizon. I’m excited to see what happens next.

WOW!!! This book had me on edge until the very end. I don’t usually read psychological thrillers but I have to say, that might just have to change. I loved this book. The author sure has an amazing grip on keeping your mind on twists and turns. I was trying to figure out who the murderer was and was stumped. This poor family went through hell and back over and over. I could not put this book down. If you are like me and don’t usually read this genre of book. This is a great place to start. I was thinking about this book even when I wasn’t reading it. I will be reading this author again and again.

Forever: A Diamond Doms NovelForever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Author Ivy Nelson never disappoints. Always so much action going on. She brings you right into the story immediately and keeps the tension alive throughout the story. So many characters to love and hate, this book is no exception. Russell and Gemma have sparks flying although Russell stays hands off because Gemma is married. He has strict rules about touching a married woman.

The Solitaire family finds themselves caught in the middle of a high -powered game of control and power. People are being kidnapped, framed, murdered, manipulated, put in arranged marriages to tighten bonds and keep people under control until the organization and revelations come to light. This is a book you will not be able to put down. THe Solitaire family is based out of a BDSM club but this book is so much more than a BDSM tale. Ivy Nelson has the absolute talent of mixing suspense and romance into one book of perfection.

Caine is wanted for murder and Emery is left penniless when her father is sent to jail. The trouble these two find themselves in is linked together unbeknownst to them. They meet at Syn Hawke’s BDSM nightclub. Sparks fly when these two are together.

The things that happen inside an MC club will have you shocked and more than a little disturbed. These guys are not to be screwed with as they will defend each brother or family with his life. Repair (Rescue Me Book 1) by Trish Williford – Review by Deb Robinson

RepairRepair by Trish Williford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the main characters in this book, Trent (Tank) and Charlotte (Charlie). The bond between these two is almost palpable. This book deals with so many important issues but in a delicate way. Trent and Charlie both lie to each other at the beginning of the book and now have them dealing with pain, shock, sorrow and heartbreak. Charlie goes back to school to finish her last two months of her Masters degree in Nursing and doesn’t return to Sunnyville until 8 years later. Trust is a hard commodity to gain once it has been broken. This book had some tough issues in it but the author is great at the balance of still providing a pleasurable read. Justin’s birthday was hilarious. This book was extremely relatable on so many levels, I fully enjoyed it.
