Prissy’s deep seeded determination for revenge after she was attacked, puts her face to face with a blast from her past. Riordan, her old crush and the man that saved her life all those years ago. This Mafia romance had me flipping the page for more. Danger, drama, suspense, forced marriage, and lots of steam. What more could you ask for. I am giving this book 4 stars because there were parts that were a bit difficult for me to read. Other then that, I appreciated the character development.

This book is one of the most gripping that I have read this year. It was dark, intense, fast paced, exciting and so well written. I could not put it down once I had started reading. I was pulled into the characters and their story. It felt so gritty and real. They are definitely two of my favourite characters. This author knows how to write such varied and interesting books. This one feels so different to some of the others I have read by her but it is just as good. I could have read this book for so much longer. I would highly recommend this story.

Riordan and Priscilla’s story had me right from the start. Man, the action was there. Her tragic story from her teen’s ripped my heart out (the author does give a trigger warning. Make sure to read it). These two come back together and the action is sparking and full of chemistry as they try to avoid but can’t. I haven’t read the first two in the series but you can bet I will now. I loved the characters. They just fit the mafia stereotype so well. Priscilla didn’t quite fit the mafia daughter type but she’s trying to overcome so much. The story can be graphic but it’s a good romance that is worth reading.

Hot 🥵, spicy, sweet, steamy, action packed, suspenseful, and thrilling would be words to describe this one! From the first few sentences it grabbed my attention and I was hooked by the first chapter. Some very delightful twists and spin offs then your average romance / spicy novel. Will keep you coming back for more and wanting more! This was a very enjoyable read! The tension between the characters could be felt off the pages and the steam factor was present! It was any easy read and fun to get lost in! It was my first read by this author and I would definitely read more!

I love reading brother’s best friend’s love story. This book had a nice darker twist compared the typical storylines. The scenes were so steamy! I loved the tension between Callie and Noah. Really great book!

Omg!! This was the first book I have read by this author and let me tell you if you are looking for a steamy series this is the one for you!! I could not put the book down. This is the second book in the series but you can read it as a stand-alone. With that being said I am going back to read the first book to the series. Callie and Grant haven’t had the best childhood but when it came right down to it Grant stepped up to take plate to take care of his little sister Callie. When the opportunity came for Grant to open his own PI business with a silent partner funding the company. Callie and her friends decide to have a little fun at the local adult club Callie had no idea she would end up seeing the man who has occupied her dreams for the last six years. When Noah locks eyes with Callie he can’t take his eyes off her. He knows he should turn away from his best friend’s little sister but he can’t help it! He finds it very hot that she is enjoying herself while watching him enjoy himself. But could this mean she has the hots for him? When Callie gets attacked on campus and Grant finally is getting to take his honeymoon, can he trust his best friend Noah to keep her safe while resisting the temptation that has been growing between them for six years? I can not rave about this book enough!! It was absolutely phenomenal.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Hard Lover had me hooked from the beginning and it was fantastic. I loved every minute of it and couldn’t put it down. This is the second book in the Houston After Dark Series.

Hard Lover is the second book in the Houston After Dark Series and man what wonderfully written Romance Suspense. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed characters that are relatable and fun make a epic Romance. There’s a few twists and turns that had me turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is a fast paced story and once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. This is Noah and Callie’s story. These two have great chemistry there’s definitely mutual attraction. Sometimes our pasts try to crash our present life and we have to face things we don’t want to head on. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Hard Lover is a spicy romance I couldn’t put down! A best friend’s little sister romance. A forbidden fruit romance. The author wrote a story about Noah and Callie Rose that has so many roller coasters you don’t want to get off one to get on the next. The dynamic and chemistry between the two characters is off the charts. So what’s the problem? What’s keeping them at arm’s length? This is my first time reading a book by Deborah Garland and can i say woooowza thriller love story with some extreme spiciness to it lol i love it. I know it’s weird to start on the second book but the sexy cowboy looking dude got me and pulled me right in. This story did not disappoint. Noah and Callies chemistry that it was almost tangible and also OMG eww Erik is a real psychopath. I cannot not wait til October 18th to get my next fill of this erotic series. Look at this cover, hot damn that beard.

Steamy and mysterious? Count me in! If only these two had gotten together much sooner. However, the way this wonderful author has them get together, apart and back together is beautifully written. The bar scenes, and the cabin scenes, the best one could read!

This story certainly had me going with all of it’s steamy scenes and storyline. I am very particular with my smut, but this was absolutely a fantastic read to get my hands on! It certainly was a rollercoaster ride for between all of the things that were going on. The only thing that made me sad, was Noah thinking he was “wrong” for involving himself in the kink community. This had so much potential to do good, but it fell a little flat, but other than that the writing, storyline, curveballs, the set up were all done beautifully! I loved reading this book and I’m certainly going to go back and read book one!

I have had the pleasure of reading this author before and I’m unsure how I missed the first book in the series but so glad I was able get the chance to read this one.
Callie had a tough childhood, thankful she was too young to remember most of it. She has a pretty good life thanks to her brother Grant.
Noah is Grant’s best friend and co-worker. Had a pretty good life except for one incident in college which changed his life.
Noah and Callie are so hot together. The sparks between them from when they see each other a club up until the end don’t let up though the do evolve during that time. I thought the time away from everyone was the best of those moments.
This book was not ideal for my sleepless nights. I read the first third of the book in one evening because I was unable to put it down. Now that this series is on my radar I will be keeping my eye out for the next book.

Really enjoyed this story. It was hot hot hot and fun to read. This story is about Noah and Callie and was easy enough to read as a stand-alone, however, clearly there is a story before this one as there are slight references to Grant and Avery’s history. Definitely want to read more about these characters and their friends.
Callie seems innocent but she is more reserved. She doesn’t fly her freak flag for all to see. Noah on the other had works at a sex club. He is worried about his freakiness and his past. And there is the little fact that Callie is Noah’s best friend’s little sister. Noah doesn’t think they would be good together, he doesn’t even think about Callie that way…much, until the night at the club proves otherwise.
Lots of angst and lots of ways to relieve the stresses of life in this story! Not a story to read at work and not for those young innocent readers. Looking forward to the rest in this series!

This is the awesome second book in the Houston After Dark series. Although part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I was not aware that this was the second book in a series when I read it and I certainly didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information needed to enjoy this book. And I have to say that I really did enjoy this book. This book follows one of my favourite tropes, that of ‘brother’s best friend’. I love the angst that happens in these books and this book certainly follows that as Noah and Callie keep their relationship secret from Callie’s brother Grant. This book is HOT with capital H, O and T. Noah is a Dominant with barbell piercings in a very intimate place which add to the sexiness of the sex scenes. I really enjoyed reading Callie and Noah’s story. Callie is totally badass and takes no prisoners and is not afraid to fight for what she wants, And what she wants is Noah. This is a great read, which I definitely recommend.

Callie and Noah are amazing! Callie’s the girl who has had it rough, but she doesn’t ever let it hold her back. Noah is the one with a secret and when they finally give into their desires, their lives change forever. Callie is everything sweet and kind, and Noah is the rough and tough military vet that is almost never without his cowboy hat. I absolutely love them both, and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series!

I love a good forbidden romance, and Deborah Garland brought it with this book. This story is a brother’s best friend-love story Noah is best friends and a coworker of Callie Rose’s big brother Grant. Firmly sticking Callie into the off-limits zone for him, to the point that he never once thought of her more than the girl he watched grow up. But one night that all changes. This book captured my attention almost immediately. The chemistry between Noah and Callie was hot enough to set the pages on fire. I think this book is worth a read.

To put it simply this is a hot steamy read filled with great characters and a storyline that will keep you captivated from start to finish. The authors wonderful writing style creates very vivid images in your mind as you read, making you feel a little like the voyeurs she writes about. I found this author and this series in book 2 and having enjoyed it so much I will definitely go and find book one. It should be said that not having read the first book in no way affected my enjoyment of this book, it has simply made me want to read more by this very talented author. I am really looking forward to what is next in this series as well.

This book is the second in the series but the first one that I have read. It is definitely a book you can read at any time. This book has it all, suspense, intrigue, forbidden lovers, friends younger sister, and a crazy person. All these things lead to an amazing book. The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning pages as quickly as you can. The steamy scenes in-between will make you blush and then blush even more because it is written so well you actually feel ,like you are witnessing these events. There were times where I actually diverted my eyes due to what was happening on the pages. Will the main characters be able to end up together or will someone make sure that doesn’t happen? That is what I was constantly asking myself while reading this book. The past has a way of revealing itself and the damage that it can cause leads to page turning suspense. I highly recommend this quick read to anyone who likes to sit on the edge of their seat and loves some good steamy scenes. I am now going to go read the first book in the series and then probably have a book hang over.

This is the 2nd book in the Houston After Dark series, while I have not read the first book I didn’t really feel like I was missing anything. Callie has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Noah, for years. He only sees her that way, or so she thought. Noah is starting to realize he wants Callie even though he shouldn’t. Will he give into temptation or will he allow his past to dictate his future? I will most definitely be reading the rest of this series. Warning for glasses wearing folks, the steamy nature of this book might fog up those glasses. You have been warned.

Callie Rose has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Noah, for years. She decides to go to the sex club he frequents to see what happens, and sees more than she bargained for. Very soon after she is attacked heading into her dorm room, and her brother assigns Noah to guard her while they find the perpetrator. Noah tries not to give in to his desires for Callie, but quickly loses the battle with himself which leads to some spicy scenes!
I really liked Callie. She has had a rough life, raised by her brother, Grant, after both parents go to jail. She grew into a kind, but strong woman who takes no crap, and I loved seeing her stand up for herself and take what she wanted. Noah genuinely wants to do the right thing and struggles with what that is. I get why he didn’t want to tell Grant about what happened when he was in college, though I wish he had said something sooner.
Some of the things that happened with Erik and how some of the characters reacted to it didn’t fully make sense to me, but I was glad to see the resolution. Overall, this is a good book. It is the second in a series, but you do not have to read the first book to enjoy this book.

Will Noah solve his problems from his past and finally be with Callie or will his secrets bite him in the rear? OMG! This book is steamy! And the story was one that I enjoyed. This book was one that I could read over and over. Now the only question is, how do you find a man like Noah?!

This book kept me on the tip of my toes. Noah and Callie are so cute together, although Noah was a little frustrating because of his stubbornness. Callie Rose is a total baddie though, she was very brave and a good MC. The book was pretty entertaining and fast paced. A LOT of smut. A lot of GOOD smut. But it still has a plot, so it’s all around good

This is a very hot and steamy read. The connection and attraction between the main character is electric and jumps off the page. As a reader you are completely consumed by this couples feelings and attraction. You feel the fight that they go through to not give into their feelings but sometimes there is nothing you can do to fight the attraction.
Callie has lived a protected life with her over protective brother but she is a grown woman and feels its time to go after what she wants. And what she wants is her brother best friend Noah. When she goes to a club hoping to bump into him she gets more than she imagined when she witnesses him with another woman. This vision caused her crush to go from simmering to boiling hot and she knows there is no turning back.
Noah spots Callie in the crowd watching him. He is shocked but also completely captivated by her. His feelings for her change and grow and he wants her so bad.
When Callie is attacked, he takes her in with the intention to protect her as a favour to her brother but as time goes on he realises that he’s also doing it for himself. He is falling for her and can’t help himself. However, this romance isn’t going to be plain sailing. By being with him Callie is in danger and no matter how much he wants her he needs her to keep her distance to protect her from someone in his past.
Can they ignore their feelings? Can Noah risk putting Callie in danger for a chance of a happy life? Will this couple finally get to embrace their attraction to each other or will things from the past and Callie’s brother have other ideas?
This is one book that you won’t be able to put down and this couple will drag you into their story and they won’t let go.
