Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1) by Debra Parmley

Finding Bryce is the first book in the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII is a Military Romance that I read in one sitting. This is a fairly new author to me and one thing I noticed with this story is it jumped around and at times was a bit hard to follow and some parts felt a tad rushed but with that being said I still enjoyed the story. This is a story about Pippa and Diesel, she is working full time and taking classes He’s a Seal and these two meet at a costume party. She’s not really a dater but she decides to relax and have fun for once. Dressed as a fairy and him a gladiator they have their one night and neither one gets the others names. Fast forward a couple of years and she bow has a big secret. But when she finds herself in a situation will she be saved before its to late? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to the next book in this series.

Finding Bryce is the first book in the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII series by Debra Parmley. It is an engrossing military romantic suspense with SEALs, drama, danger, tension, chemistry, sizzle, emotion, unexpected developments, angst, and finding love unexpectedly.
This is a short, quick, and easy read- though the story was complete, I would have liked to have read a longer, meatier version of the story… because who doesn’t want to spend a longer time between the covers with a hot and hunky SEAL? That being said, I did enjoy the book and I am looking forward to continuing the series.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debra Parmley!

I love the action, intense suspense, excitement and fierce passion of seal team books, so when I saw this one pop up it was a no brainer to grab and get going.

Finding Bryce is the first book in the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII series and has it all. I cannot wait for the next book. I think I found my next book boyfriend. Well at least until the next book.

A Gladiator and a Woodland Fairy share one night of glorious passion and that was all it was meant to be. Now two years later he quickly finds out that their lives had changed irrevocably. When her past catches up to her can he keep them safe?

This story will have you swooning and hot and bothered whilst on the other hand it has you sitting on the edge of your seat in suspense.

Noooooooo, it is toooooo short of a story and I wanted more.

This book was a fantastic read from start to finish! I seriously was hooked all the way through! The author had a way with their writing skills and creating characters! Seriously, an amazing read!

Loved this book it had its steamy moments, action, drama, and the importance of family was greatly shown. I was held all the way through. I felt for Pippa and fear of men, and Taylor was a great guy. I loved when he discovered what came of their passionate night, he stepped up and would do anything to make his family safe again! The book pulled me in with the delicate writing, that flowed so nicely. Great character development as well. I was drawn in, and held to the end! This book was amazing and so much more!

Again, this is not a book to be passed up by any means, seriously! I highly recommend this must read book and author! Very much eager to read book 2! This was a must read! So glad I got to read it!

Pippa is a battered woman who is fleeing from an abusive ex-husband trying to escape. When she meets a man one night and has a one-night stand, she ends up pregnant and does not know where her mystery man is. When Bryce comes back in town from being deployed, he is thrust back into her path to have her, and his child taken from him. Will he be able to save them in time? I was on the edge of my chair reading this book and was obsessed with it! I cannot wait to read the next books in this series!

Isabella Bride of Ohio is an charming, quick-read with a happily ever after. Part of the American Mail Order Brides collection by Debra Parmley this book is a stand-alone installment. The main character, Isabella, is a quiet and shy transplant to America from Sweden who has struggled through the transition. The book follows her journey West to marry Donald after tragedy strikes her yet again. The new adventure she embarks on is an emotional roller-coaster. The author uses subtle foreshadowing to help the reader along the way to Isabella’s perfect fairytale.

This story had me on the edge of my feet the entire time. So many twists and turns. I wish the story was a bit longer but I feel satisfied wish the ending. This story moves fast. There were so many red flags with Donald. From the first letter he sent her. I kept finding myself screaming at Isabella to not do certain things nor go with certain people. Tom is amazing. So glad he was around when she needed someone the most . I’m also happy that Isabella was able to move from the traumatic events and have exactly what she’s always dreamed of. I highly recommend giving this a try.

This book is set in 1890. It begins in Lawrence, Massachusetts with Isabella Britta Stolt. Her parents died while they were all immigrating to the United States. Isabella took a job at a factory to support herself. In a time where young women did not live alone, she was left bereft when the factory burned down. She felt she had no choice but to become a mail order bride. She felt like she had a connection with Donald Jenks, and he came across in his letters as a sweet, loving man. Once she moved to Ohio to be with him, she discovered he was quite the opposite. He was cruel to her and had begun to get physical. She met Tom Allenby on her train ride to Ohio when he saved her from being abducted. Could Tom become her saving grace once again? I enjoyed this sweet story. It was short, easy to read, and quite enjoyable!

Isabella knows that bad things happen in threes. First her parents die, leaving her alone in America. Then a fire takes the factory she worked in. What could happen next? It wasn’t uncommon for bachelors, in the 1800’s, to search for a bride through advertisements. Isabella answered such an ad in hopes of finding someone to love and who would love her back. Mr. Donald Jenks sweeps her off her feet and gets her to agree to head to Ohio to meet him. Her travels to Ohio didn’t come easy, her wedding day to Donald came quickly. So, did she find true love? Yes, but not where you thought she would.
This a a sweet historical fiction love story. It is a quick and easy read with very likeable characters (well, the nice ones anyway!). If you are looking for an adventure, Isabella will give you that!

This was a really good book! It was fast paced and short, which made it a quick read and was full of hope, insight and perseverance. Check triggers for this one, as it does contain some domestic violence and assault. I really enjoyed this one (even though I’m not much a fan of mail order bride stories) and I would definitely read more in the future. This was a really written book as well! I felt like I was right there with the characters in that time period, right before the 1900s.

This is quite a quick, sweet romance about Isabella and her journey. So much has happened to her that you find yourself wanting her to get a happen ending. Isabella Bride of Ohio, American Mail Order Bride is not the type of book I normally read, but it sounded interested. I admit, I didn’t know American mail order brides was a thing, but it intrigued me. The topic being quite taboo, made it all the more interesting. I liked Isabella, but also felt quite bad for her situation. She has had a hard life, and she is only still a teen! I was at first astonished for her to be all alone, but then had to remember it was a different time. I enjoyed reading the book but found her very naive, falling in love too quickly. I kept waiting for something to happen. She made me think of the movie Frozen – “You can’t marry a man you just met!” But yet, Isabella met, got engaged and wed very quickly. Again, the time and situation was different then. I wasn’t much surprised by the encounter on the train but if left me wanting to know more of Tom. Who is he? What did he mean by “like a constable” but yet wasn’t one. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? The mystery behind him kept me intrigued. The author kept sprinkling more facts as the book went on, and I kind of saw the ending coming, but still enjoyed it. It wrapped up all the loose ends. The book itself was a short quick read, so I didn’t get too invested in the characters, but it was enjoyable.

My first question is why do you want leave Sweden , it’s a beautiful country but at the same time I also understand folks are looking for change and a new beginning….

Isabella and her family are now fresh in America and her folks have to go into quarantine when they get sick and the job she has she lost when the building burnt down and now she and her family are in dire straits ….

Things take a turn for the better when she finds work as a housemaid and then she starts communicating with a “gentleman “ via a mail order bride magazine on the way she has a nasty experience and the man who comes to her aid stirs her heart but she can’t loose her heart Un him as she’s promised herself to the so called gentleman “ Mr Jenks “ I use the term loosely because the man is really far from a gentleman , he’s an oaf 😡

Isabella is wish I could whisper in your ear to have run with your rescuer when you had the chance ….

Isabella has faced a lot in her life and there were a few twists and turns in the story but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical romance and mail order brides 📚🥰

A new immigrant from Sweden, Isabella arrives at Ellis Island only to be separated from her parents. When her parents became ill they were forced into isolation at Ellis Island. Little did Isabella know, that she would be permanently separated because her parents ended up dying while in isolation. New land, new language, new everything all but America has only brought Isabella sadness. Settling down in Massachusetts, Isabella finds a job working in a factory but that is also short-lived, the building burned down two weeks after she started. Deciding to join her friends in becoming a mail-order bride, she starts to write to a man named Donald Jenks. Things move rather quickly and within a short time, Isabella finds herself on a train to Yellow Springs, Ohio. The train ride was not a safe one for a young solo traveler like Isabella but as you can guess the twists and turns of Isabella’s story only have just begun on her train ride from Massachusetts to Ohio.
I really enjoy mail-order bride stories, especially ones that take place in the early years of America. This was a great book, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Definitely recommend this book!!

She is so excited to meet her husband but she has a bad feeling something is going to happen to her once again. Isabella is being watched closely by Donald, who is on a case of a missing woman. I am familiar with this author and usually enjoy her work. This book was a bit difficult for me to get into, but it was insightful and interesting from a historical aspect. To imagine traffickers during that time and the fear of nearly being taken in a time without all the modern technology would be unnerving . The story itself has action, danger, drama, and deception. Isabel herself was a wonderful heroine who was strong and amazing. She persevered despite so much loss and tragedy. Donald was to be her chance at a better life and happiness but she still didn’t feel everything was right having gone to be his bride anyway. The more the story progresses you question if there are truth to her fears and if her life will take a turn for the better or worse.

What a lovely quick read, the author takes us to 1890 Massachusetts. We meet Isabella and her young friends. Isabella, a Swedish immigrant; made the journey with her mother and father to the new land of the Americas. Left orphaned she finds her way, makes friends and until a fire at the mill where she works she lives a simple life with her friends Lilly, Tabitha, Hope and Trinity.
As there is no sign of reputable work post the fire many of the girls follow the mail order bride route to what they hope is happiness.
Isabella writes and is befriended by Mr Jenks of Ohio, on the train journey to meet him Isabella has a near miss with kidnappers, she is rescued by a gentleman called Tom.
Upon meeting Mr Jenks, Isabella quickly becomes Mrs Donald Jenks, unbeknown to her this is a stipulation of a will, Mr Jenks shows his true colours.
After angst and violence, plots of murder and then attempted abduction Isabella finally knows the truth and finds her happy ever after.

She, like several of her friends learn about a mail order bride advertisement and so she finds an ad that sounds like a wonderful opportunity. After writing to the man several times she boards a train to meet him. This is where things start to take a turn.
There are a few triggers in this story, to list them actually spoils the story so just know this book is not for the faint of heart.

Isabella Bride of Ohio: American Mail-Order Brides SeriesIsabella Bride of Ohio: American Mail-Order Brides Series by Debra Parmley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging historical romance, which had me hooked from start to finish. Although becoming a mail-order bride can be a dangerous thing for a woman to do, it’s the only option left for Isabella. Who having arrived in America from Sweden, suffers the death of her parents and then looses her job when the factory burns down. Isabella starts to communicate by letter with Donald Jenks, a wealthy man from Yellow Springs Ohio who wants a wife. Donald describes Isabella’s dream home, and he appears to be a perfect husband for her. However, she has to reach Ohio safely before she can even meet Donald, and with white slavers abducting females from the train this puts her in danger. On the train she meets ‘Tom’, a Pinkerton agent, who is on the case of the disappearing women, and he’s Isabella’s only hope when she’s selected to be the next victim.
Even if Isabella is saved by Tom, it’s not guaranteed that she will get her HEA with Donald, as Isabella starts to wonder why such a successful and handsome businessman would need a mail-order bride. After all, he could have had his pick of the young ladies near Yellow Springs. This is a romance with plenty of drama and suspense, and the plot had many twists in it that kept me both gripped and guessing as to Isabella’s outcome. The descriptive narrative and added historical details brought both the setting and era vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. The characters were well described and I felt engaged with Isabella and her plight, and was hoping that she would get her HEA. An entertaining read and one which I definitely recommend.

Amazing! It is crazy to think that back in the 1800s a seventeen year old girl could marry a thirty-seven year old ma with no one thinking anything of it. I understand Isabella wanting to find something stable, especially after the loss of her family. Donald seemed really shady to me when they were out shopping, and he was making all of the decisions and quickly without giving any thought to what Isabella would want. I was broken hearted for Isabella on her wedding day, her wedding night, and her life for the next days after marrying Donald. She seems like such a sweet heart and should only be treated with all the love and respect she deserves. I was so happy when she met Tom and had a feeling he would be a big game changer in Isabella’s life. Excellent book, definitely recommend. Short and sweet with lots of emotions.
