Souls Collide (The Collide Series Book 3)
By Kristina Beck
5 Stars

Souls Collide by Kristina Beck is the third installment of The Souls Collide Series. It is a romantic suspense about Alexa and Kent, that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I saw that this book is a romantic suspense, I didn’t expect some comedy. There are some really funny parts, as I was not able to put my Kindle down until I was done, I read this ebook in one sitting in just a few hours. Alexa is a ray of sunshine, independent, smart and beautiful to boot. Men are constantly dropping at her every step but unfortunately she has had no luck finding the right guy. The nicknames she makes for her past dates are hilarious i.e. Joker the Poker. Kent is a hot cop who has had to deal with grief and a sick sister, which has made him quite an angry and bitter person. When these two souls collide at a nearby hospital, their worlds will change forever. Will Alexa be able to break down Kent’s walls? While these two are getting to know each other better, Alexa is in danger and has stalker making her life a living hell. All the supportive characters in this book are great and will have you suspecting who the mystery stalker is. Kristina Beck wrote a seamless storyline that was difficult to put down, I truly enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book in the Collide Series that I have read and will be going back to the first two books and read them.

This novel was amazing. I loved how Alexa and Kent went from one extreme to the other. Hate to love. All the craziness that happened in between was scary and had me at the edge of my seat. I also loved Abby. She was strong and courageous while battling breast cancer. I could not believe who the real antagonist was at the end. I was surprised. Such a great book!

Souls Collide (Collide Series #3)Souls Collide by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I love a good romance with suspense but she exceeded all my expectations. A few times this story gave me chill up my spine. This is the third book from the Collide series. They don’t need to read in order but prior characters will be in this book. I read this book first and I didn’t have any trouble following the story. I now will be starting from the beginning to meet the other characters. I could not put this book down. I fell in love with these characters right from the beginning. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.

Alexa is a beautiful and smart young woman that has it all. She has men at her feet at all times. Alexa love her family and friends. She runs into a very handsome cop that doesn’t give her the time of day. Alexa is determined to find out why this man hates her. She has friends in common with him and she just wants to find a middle ground. Alexa then starts getting some crazy phone calls that starts to spook her out. She is shocked when Kent steps up to protect her. They quickly realize that their souls belong together. Will Alexa and Kent find their happily ever after or is someone waiting to destroy them both?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. You can’t help but to fall in love with all of these characters. Alexa is a beautiful woman that has a good head on her shoulder. She sometimes takes things for granted which can get her into trouble. Kent has had a hard life. He lost his mom when he was younger and now he needs to protect his sister. Kent has walls up due to his past so he doesn’t get hurt again. This author brings up some delicate subjects but it is in a beautiful manner. I’m now going to start this series from the beginning. I will be reading this talented author from now on.

Souls Collide is the final book in the Collide series. I’ve been waiting for Alexa’s story and it did not disappoint! Alexa is intelligent, funny and not afraid to put you in your place! When her and “Superman” meet I was literally laughing out loud! I think this might have been my favorite story in the series. The characters are wonderful and I love how they are all so connected. This is series that you definitely need to read!

The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)The Confectioner’s Truth by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The story The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana is a mix of fantasy and thrill ride. The story continues with Wren and the members of the guild. There is a new ruler who is beyond bad. He rules like a madman and things are not stable for anyone. I recommend reading the other books in the series. The characters have grown and matured through the course of the series. I enjoy Wren because she is not cocky or self-centered. She is unsure of herself and does not always make the best decisions. She is rash at times and at other times she is centered and in total control. These traits make her easy to relate. There are many past characters who are back and some new ones as well. This is a great series that I enjoyed reading. I am sad to see it end but will be watching for new books from this author in the future.

5 +++++++++++++++ Stars

I can not believe this series is over 🙁 This story had me a hot mess and started right in on page 1 and never let go till the end and then it stayed with me for a bit after.

There was a lot going on in this story, we met a lot of new people and visited many new places..I loved this part and I felt as if I was right there with Wren as she was making quick decisions and having a lot of inner battles…I found myself trying to help her and felt like I was feeling everything she was. This character has grown so much through these books and I have totally fallen in love with her, and poor Hale…I miss what feels like the old days with Hale and now there he is regretting so many things, this made me sad.

I’m not going into any more than that. You have to read this, the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat the whole book. This author has done an amazing job with this series. I’ve loved every word and every page of all of these books. I absolutely can not wait to read them all again!! She ended this series beautifully and in my humble opinion sets the bar high for any other books in this genre.

Brilliant and I can’t wait to read what is to come from this author!! This is one of those books/series that deserves so much more than 5 stars.

The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands StoryThe Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story by P.A. Wikoff
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THE PROGENY ASSASSIN is book two in the “Forgotten Woods” series. While I think it MIGHT be able to be read as a stand-alone, I suggest reading it in order because the writing is amazing.

This is one of those stories that transported me to a place that I never could have imagined. It is so creatively written, that I was able to watch a movie in my head as I was reading. It is also one of those stories that I read really fast and breathlessly, much like the action taking place.

In addition to LOVING this story, I have also learned some new cuss words (“…you gross piece of fundle snop!”).

I recommend this story and this series to young and old alike.

“The past never thinks about you. Why should you show it such importance?”

Leaving Jackson Wolf by P.A. Kane. This is a new to me author and I truly enjoyed this book. This is a coming of age book. Jackson and McDougal bond over a lot of negative things they have in common: bullies, being social outcasts and they both have drunks as fathers. All Jackson is trying to do is figure out his place in life.
This book will have you turning the pages unbelievably fast, trying to see what happens next. You are guaranteed to love this book and get choked up along the way. I can not wait to see what this author has up his sleeve next.

Degrees of Power (Prestian Series, #4)Degrees of Power by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Degrees of Power is the fourth book in Via Mari’s Prestian series. Do not read it as a standalone! You will be lost in desert without any compass or water! Obviously, I have read the whole series and I have to say it has been one of the best series I have read in 2018 – I loved the progression of the story and the relationship between Kate and Chase, I loved how each book seemed to top the previous one and that is simply unbelievable as you think this is the best the writer can do when you are reading whatever book you are at.
Degrees of Power picks up where the third book left off – Kate and Chase are determined to have a life together, despite the danger that is growing more intense by each day. Kate has to look even deeper into herself in order to face the truth – can she fully trust Chase? Can she become part of the partnership where she controls some of the aspects of their life and Chase controls the other aspects … it is so bloody hard…? Will Kate learn in time that in a relationship it is about give and take to keep the relationship growing! Love is not enough; you need to nurture your relationship! So, come along on the journey through danger and find out for yourself if Kate and Chase’s relationship will grow and they stay together through thick or thin … or will they be pulled apart …

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story (Forgotten Woods Book 2) By P.A. Wikoff. These books are completely outside of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I took a chance on something new because this author writes a story that’s so vivid you feel a part of the journey the characters are on. From page one you are drawn into the book and trust me you’ll be totally fine being in it until the very end. It’s a bit of a darker read but that won’t stop the enjoyment you get. You can read this as a standalone but I recommend the other book also because it’s really good. The author has a way with the magical land and writes stories you crawl inside of and forget your only reading the story not living it. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reading this anthology has had me well and truly captivated and pleasantly surprised with how brilliant the stories were in this read, each of them gave an extra depth to this anthology in which I couldn’t put down. These reads have incredible characters and captivating plot lines that are each well written.

A Kiss Under A Blue Moon – Tamara Ferguson
Once again, Tamara Ferguson never disappoints with her writing style, plot line and wonderful characters. This read is captivating and you can’t help but feel every emotion flowing off the page coming from the past these characters had, to the undeniable connection they have now. You really can’t help but route for these two and hope they get a second chance, this one really holds you and steals your heart and makes you believe in things that could be.

Foxxy Christmas – Allyson R. Abbott
With Allyson R.Abbott being a regular go to author of mine, I always believe I will know how good her reads are, but once again she continues to prove me wrong. This book is steamy, romantic and has two characters with a sizzling connection has you captivated and on the edge of your seat with its level of suspense that just makes this read even better, then to top it all off, it set around Christmas time.

You will not be disappointed by getting totally captivated with this read, you will find something within this anthology that suits all your go-to reading needs. I highly recommend this read, and enjoy it just as much as I did.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Debt Collector by India Kells was my first book by this author and Holy Hottness are the first words that come to mind to describe this book. If you’re looking for a fast-paced book that has equal parts of mystery and steamy dirty bedroom scenes then this is your book. Tessa an ER Doctor gets mixed up in a sex slave ring while helping a girl out of a bad situation. Locke is a man who is trying to take down the ring one girl at a time until Tessa might be the only one to help out.

Tessa and Locke have some chemistry just between them but when they add a sexy underground fighter who just happens to be Locke’s best friend and side lover; things start to get real for Locke. Locke is a man that is hard to love thru out this book, but you slowly warm up to him by the end. I’m begging that India will write a book just for Gage, I want more of the sexy fighter.

The Something Series – Box Set Books 1-3 (Tell Me Something, Ask Me Something & Bet Me Something) by Aubrey Bondurant
Four Stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something Series by Aubrey Bondurant. This is the author’s debut book and the first book I have read by her. Ms. Bondurant did a great job with the character descriptions, she gave them some flaws to make them very interesting. The witty banter had me laughing out loud, but there was some emotional turns that had me sad and at some points mad. I enjoyed how the relationship built between Haylee and Josh, but some of the things she put up with I don’t think I would have. It is a great love story with lots of hot love scenes.

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. This series keeps getting better and better. You get an introduction to Sasha and Brian in the first book. This book flowed and I couldn’t put it down. To me the emotions you feel while reading tells me how good the book is, and this book had me laughing out loud and reaching for my tissue box. The character descriptions and the witty dialogue made this fast paced story so entertaining I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want it to end, but now I can start the next book in the series.

Bet Me Something is the third book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. The characters overlap a little, and so far all of the books in the series have been wonderful. I love the way Ms. Bondurant brings the characters to life and makes the reader feel like they are right there with them. I love how the flow of this book is so easy and takes me away from my real life into this world with the witty banter of Kenzie and Colby. They have known each other for ever, will this be their chance at love? I would highly recommend this book, series and author to everyone who love romance! I can’t wait to start the next book in this series. I’m hoping Ms. Bondurant continues with this series because the books are so good and I would hate for it to end.

Souls Collide:Collide Series Book 3 by Kristina Beck – Review by Karyn Taylor

Souls Collide (Collide Series #3)Souls Collide by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Souls Collide is the 3rd book in the Collide series by Kristina Beck. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn’t read either of the first two books in this series but after reading Souls Collide, I’ll definitely be looking to read the others as this was a definite 5 star read.
Souls Collide is an opposites attract story. Alexa and Kent are about as opposite as you can get but this is not just your typical run of the mill opposites attract story. This book is filled with suspense that will keep you gripped to the very end. There are also many twists and turns in the story. Just as you think you’ve sussed out what Kristina Beck had in mind for these great characters, the story will turn and leave you open mouthed, wondering what the hell just happened.
Police officer Kent Hayes has watched his mother die from cancer and is now going through the horror again as his beloved sister Abby is now fighting this brutal illness. One thing Kent hates is the pharmaceutical industry so when he meets the beautiful Alexa, who happens to be a very successful pharmaceutical rep, he really wants to hate her. Shame his traitorous body didn’t get the memo. While Kent is moody and not the most fun person to be around, Alexa is a complete ray of sunshine and totally lights up every room she walks into. When Alexa is threatened by a stalker, Kent realises that he will do absolutely anything to keep her from harm.
This is a fantastic read and the characters are so well written that you can’t help but fall in love with them. I will definitely be seeking out the first 2 books in this series.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore – Review by Tracy Wilkin

The Mother-in-LawThe Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Mother-in-Law is a shocking psychological thriller by Judy Moore. It is a story that will astound, anger and impress you. Astound you in the way a sinister mind works. Anger you because of the audacity and evilness that lurked on top of the surface, but is completely looked over by some. Impress you with the intricately twisted and spellbinding way in which it is written.

A young woman does the seemingly innocent thing of falling in love. It should have been the best time of her life, and it started out so well, but then she met the Mother-in-Law. Harsh and cold, it wasn’t easy getting to know her, but our leading lady persevered and wanted to have a good, healthy relationship with her. But things did not add up, and no matter what our lady did, it was frowned upon. The leading man just wanted everyone happy, and sometimes just did what he needed to keep the peace. A thrilling read that frustrated me immensely, but kept me riveted to these words.

The Mother-in-Law was astonishingly and powerfully written. Many eye popping scenes that defied human compassion and feelings for man and family. It illustrates the ugly nature of a psychopath, and the lack of conscience these monsters display. A mind twisting suspenseful drama that had me glued to each word. 5 stars.

Finding JuniperFinding Juniper by Sadia Ash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Juniper is the third book in the Smoke series by Sadia Ash. I was so excited to find that this book had finally been released, as I had been waiting to continue Juniper and Kyle’s story. I loved the first two books, so I did have quite a lot of expectation for this one. I am happy to say that this story was worth the wait and Ms. Ash lived up to all my expectations, delivering a captivating story that had me hooked from the very first page.
As with the first two books, the characters are complex, well-developed individuals with their own quirks and flaws. They were completely believable, and very easy to get emotionally invested in. They were so well written, and I loved how they continued to develop and grow over the course of the series. There were times they frustrated me so badly that I really wanted to knock their heads together and tell them to get their acts together, but I adored them non-the-less.
The story has a lot going on in it, but in a good way- Ms. Ash masterfully choreographs all the elements into a smooth and engrossing read. There was plenty of emotion, suspense, tension, drama, chemistry, steam, and some humour- which made for an exciting read!
I really can’t wait to see what Ms. Ash does next!

Thank you, Ms. Ash!

Rising Star by Susannah Nix is a sweet romance book that has a wonderful storyline. It  is a romantic tale that is fun, cute and written. I loved the easy relationship and banter  between the main characters who I loved loved loved. They both have well imagined  backgrounds and strengths and vulnerabilities as well. It is a bit of an emotional read  as it hits on a tough subject but Susannah handled it well.     Alice is caring and smart and a beautiful soul and on her way to a Ph.D but that doesn’t  pay the bills, yet.     Griffin is on his way to stardom and offers Alice an answer to her problem. Trust is  hard for her but she says yes and that is when things change between the two but he  holds all the power to take it all away. That was when I wanted to smack him.    Don’t miss out on this sweet romance story.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Surviving the Storm is the second book in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. It is my favourite of the series so far. This is a great contemporary romance with an insta-love element, obstacles, suspense, tension, some action, secrets, lies, mystery, drama, great chemistry, danger, and more.
Alexander and Madison drew me into their story and kept me flipping the pages to find out how everything plays out. They really took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride- from anger, to heartbreak, and happiness- this story had it all. There were some parts that were a little difficult to read because I really felt for the character/s and what they had/were going through. I really got completely invested in these two characters and the outcome of their story. They really were so perfect for one-another, and I was cheering them on from the sidelines, the whole way, watching them deal with the obstacles they had to negotiate, wishing them to succeed- to find their happiness!
A great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more of this series.

Thank you, Ms. Wine!

The Debt Collector is An Underground Bad Boy Romance by India Kells is such an unexpected surprise story, it was awesome. I really like reading India’s stories, they are wonderfully written and this one is no different. There is lots of drama and danger, heartache and intrigue, suspense and pain, demons to be slain and pleasure and romance and boy oh boy does it sizzle. So much so that a cold shower will be on the agenda. I was so devoted to India’s written word that the world flew by as I became a part of the story and walked hand in hand with them. I devoured page after page and before I knew it, it was over and a couple of hours were behind me. These beautiful and complex characters are hopelessly flawed and and made my heart ache and felt their pain down to my soul.

They are both standoffish at first with Griffin being an actor he’s used to putting on a show for every one and everything. Alice however is the exact opposite when It comes to attention, she would much rather be behind the scenes. Watching Alice come out of her shell and revert to the fun loving character that she used to be is fun and eye opening. Griffin is entertaining to read about when it comes to Alice. Should he? Shouldn’t he? Seems to be the last common thought lately when it comes to anything related to Alice.

Finding Juniper (Smoke Series Book 3) by Sadia Ash – Review by Jenni Bishop

Finding JuniperFinding Juniper by Sadia Ash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Juniper is an amazing addition to the Smoke series by Sadia Ash and is the final installment of Juniper and Kyle’s love story. It is wonderfully written and is told in dual POV. I enjoyed the first book and this one is so much more. Sadia’s writing style was even better for this book.

Kyle is wonderfully flawed and complex and at times I wanted to strangle him. Likewise with Juniper, she forced so much heartache and sorrow that I just wanted to shake some sense into her but this tale of their love story is just epic. So much so I found myself thinking I could just skip to the end to know the outcome. But I didn’t I poured over every word, every emotion, every thought and loved every minute of it. We got to see the characters grow and see more of their background and what made them, them.

This unique and powerful story may frustrate you but it is so worth the read. It is one love story that should not be missed.
