This is a great start to a new series. The story is an interesting and well written story that holds your attention from the start. However, for me, it is the characters that really make the story. They have auch a strong connection right from the start and i found they were the ones that caught my attention.
This is a new author to me but I enjoyed the pace of the book. She knew when to push the story forward but also when to hold it back for the sake of progression.
This is an enjoyable story that I would definitely recommend.

All the while Xavier is investigating Lexi, his job is to see if she can do her job as a detective. While Lexi is on the job to stop this horrible killer. She is also fighting an inner battle. The loss of her husband is only the beginning for Lexi. This author has a way of getting you caught up in her story. The story is non-stop action, keeping you on the edge of your seat. The characters are the true story makers, people I would have loved to have known. Let’s not forget the attraction between Lexi and Xavier. Can these two people do their jobs, all the while trying to keep each other and their families safe? You really do need to read this story, and take a chance with this author. She is a new to me author who has got my vote. I look forward to reading more from her.

Unit 4 fills up with patients who believe an apocalypse is eminent. Neve finds that her patient Amos is involved with these patients. Neve must determine if Amos is experiencing a psychotic break or if he is truly onto something when he shares his Book of Amos with her.

No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily. This book was amazing! Its not based on a true story but inspired by events that took place. The book is set in 1965 and takes place in a Maternity home hospital in New Orleans. Three women meet in this hospital and this is their story. This maternity home is the place they send unwed mothers to have their babies and then they are taken from the mothers and given to others to adopt. The mothers have no real choice. The women are not given any information about their children and are told not to ask. They have to live with this choice the rest of their lives. When someone threatens the three women who meet there and give birth on the same day secrets begin to come out and the now successful women could be ruined by this secret. Will the women ever be the same after these secrets come out and or will their lives blow up? This book is so full of emotions and is very tragic in ways. Do yourself a favor and read this amazing book!

Queue the muscle and tension! I haven’t read the previous books but I think even though i didn’t know the backstory, I could still make sense of everything! I’ll definitely be going back to read the others though!
I really loved that Sasha and Lazarus didn’t want the attraction – it made for some good banter and tension throughout. I am so happy that Lazarus ended up with Sasha. They seem to be a great fit for each other!

This story would have to be one of the most moving and harrowing tales I have ever read. The content is heartbreaking. It centres around three women who become pregnant out of wedlock. Being based in the sixties, it was common practice for unwed girls to be shipped of to a home, give birth and have their babies stripped from them and put up for adoption. Their terribly sad journey moved me beyond words, as I found it impossible to comprehend the turmoil that these women faced. It is inconceivable to think that these barbaric and unfeeling monsters ripped these babies from their mothers. No choices were given. No conversations had regarding options. Nothing but heartache and to be sent back home as if nothing occurred and life was supposed to carry on as normal. It was such a reflective story. I cannot imagine what these women endured and am so thankful that I will never know. I can only feel compassion and hope that they lived their best lives under the circumstances.

Incredibly well written and extensive, this story gives a glimpse into life for unwed mothers in that era and the unimaginable events that were experienced by many women. A touching and unforgettable tale. 5 stars

Priscida is an alley cat who ends up being adopted by a wonderful family. The writing was a little choppy however it was very easy for my 10 year old with dyslexia to read through. Each section is maybe 3-4 short sentences and the illustrations were very kid like. My daughter loved it! As a Children’s book, I can see this being a huge hit in a classroom especially Kindergarten to 3rd grade level or those struggling to read.

I found this book really interesting to read. I was presently surprised when I read this book as I imagined it would be full of spells and tricks. However the ‘spells and rituals’ all revolved around a new way of thinking and a way of taking time to think and appreciate the life you have.
It was really special to read about how to find magic in every aspect of your life, even mundane everyday tasks can produce magic if you look at it the right way.

This book was informative and definately makes you think about the way you see and approach your life. It’s full of stories from the authors experience but also has tips for people to use to implement these teachings in their own lives.

Piasa is the third book in The Legends series by Maggie Adams. It is another intriguing paranormal romance, with shifters, magic, mystery, drama, emotion, chemistry, interesting quirky characters, shamans, sorceresses, vampires, soul mates, secrets, danger, tension, intrigue, mystery, suspense, and wonderful world building.
What happens when two worlds collide. One a beautiful shaman and the other a rare and powerful dragon shifter. Fate is about to take them on the adventure of a lifetime. The author had me at dragon shifter- the rest was a wonderful bonus!
I am definitely hooked on this series now and am looking forward to Book #4!

No Names to Be Given by Julia Brewer Daily appears to be the author’s debut novel. It is an historical women’s fiction story that will tug on your heartstrings. It is set in the 1960’s and follows several characters through their experiences as unwed mothers in a time when society frowned upon such things.
This story is about unwed mothers, pregnancy, societal expectations, shame, scandal, bigotry, fear, abuse, challenges and adoption (forced and otherwise).
This was a bit of a confronting story for me, and my heart ached for what the characters endured.

The Traveler is the first book in The Traveler series, and debut novel, by Deborah Dugan. It is a fantasy/sci-fi with time travel, adventure, originality, imagination, and a touch of the bizarre.
What a wonderfully strange and unusual tale this turned out to be- in a good way. I am still thinking about it all this time later- so it definitely made an impression. It was quite unexpected- as I dove in blind, without reading the blurb- just going off the title, cover, and the fact that it showed up as a recommended sci-fi read. So, it took a beat or two to get my head around what I was reading.
The Traveler is an ancient ‘being’ who has travelled the universe and taken on various forms over time, as a means to gaining knowledge and power. We take a front row seat as he tells his lengthy story to Tristan, a human, with a few issues of his own. What happens when The Traveler finishes his story? Well worth the read to find out.
A unique, interesting, and fun read.

Amazing! The first book in this series is read by the same two narrators and they are both amazing! Their voices fit the characters so well, they must be in a biker gang! This story line was crazy! I knew as soon as I saw that K.G Fletcher had written a Christmas romance, that it would be wonderful- and she didn’t let me down. I would love to see this made into a movie- it’s such a sweet, swoony, and steamy story that made my little heart go pitter-pat!
I love everything about the Christmas season- but my favorite part is being able to binge Christmas books and movies- and this book has zipped to the top of the list as one of my firm favourites. Finding out that it is the fifth book in the Reigning Hearts series was just icing on the cake for me.
This is everything the blurb promised it to be- a warm, fuzzy, steamy, heartfelt Holiday Romance, with a touch of Christmas magic.

Murder Off Route 82 is the third book in the Eve Sawyer Mystery Series by Jane Suen.
This series follows Eve Sawyer who is a college journalism student with quite a talent for sniffing out a good story, and a bit of danger in the process. This story picks up just after the events in Book Two. Eve is back at university after her summer holiday at Lolly Beach- but we all know how that turned out- instead of relaxing she and her friends spent their time solving a murder mystery. Eve is glad to be back and is excited to start the new school year and get back to ‘normal’. But she’s barely had time to unpack before she’s drawn into a missing persons case that will have Eve racing to follow the leads to uncover what happened to the missing student. Throw in a few dead ends, a ticking clock, danger, an agenda, secrets, lies, and a bit of a twist, and we get a great little suspenseful cozy mystery.
If you have not read the previous two books, I recommend that you do, as even though you could read this book without knowing what happened previously- the first two books really help to set the scene, introduce characters, and contain interesting information that I feel will enhance your reading experience of this instalment.
I wonder what mystery awaits Eve, and us, in the next book?

This is the first book I’ve read by the author.

This book is the first of its kind that I’ve read. It has opened my eyes and I will be looking forward to more books. There were a ton of quotes I could’ve chosen, but one stuck out. The quote I chose for this book is: “Everyday magic is just that—simple, accessible ways to conjure abundance, happiness, and health.”

Highly recommended for non-fiction and self-help lovers.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I generally don’t read books like this, but I was drawn to it. I am dating someone who is pagan and the title drew me in. I was hoping for more information and was not disappointed. It kept me interested and answered questions, while showing different ways to see magic in everyday life. I have always believed that there is magic in the world and reading this book reinforced that fact.

With a past enemy rising to power seemingly overnight, he struggles with keeping his magic under control while trying to keep Rella, the country he was raised to protect, safe. As he begins the trek to save what he was raised to protect, he finds out that everything is not always as it seems. Much of his past is a lie and secrets are revealed! Will he figure out who he is and what he can do in time to save Rella?

I enjoyed this read. At times, I felt like there was a lot going on. I feel like the author did an excellent job in world building and weaving in its backstory throughout the story. I enjoyed how she wove together the relationships between characters. I appreciated how I didn’t always see the twists and turns coming, too. This was an excellent beginning to what promises to be a pretty epic trilogy! Looking forward to book 2!

This was a thrilling 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. Lazarus (Oz) quickly became my favorite in this series.

Sasha comes to Chicago to work, she ends up getting a call from an old friend asking her to help with something. Little did she know who her friend’s son was, Oz. When they came face-to-face old feelings came flooding back. You can feel the attraction between them but Oz tries to keep her at arms length to try and protect her. His crazy father is still on the loose and until he finds him none of his loved ones will be safe.

Will Oz be able to keep her safe? Will he finally give in to his feelings for her?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was the last one in the series. It can be read as a stand alone but it’s much better if you read them all. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from her. If you’re looking for a great series to read 1-click and get started today on this one.

The Web of Humanity by Maria Turchin. This is an amazing read about history, mystery and families. It is a deep thought provoking read and its best read slowly. Its the story of Anna Venu who is very intrigued by her Grandmother. Her grandmother has traveled from Berlin, to Austria and back to the US during WWII and many things happened during that time. Anna is frustrated because her grandmother refused to talk about it and her grandfather knew very little about it as well. Wanting to find out more Anna travels to Austria to see if she can find out more and boy does she. She finds out things she may not even want to know. When she finds a photograph she travels from Austria to Berlin to try to track down people in the photo that can maybe tell her more about her grandmother. What she finds out is a lot! This read is very deep and is best read slowly so that you won’t miss anything. Anna finds out things that may have been better left alone. This book will grab you and not let you go til the very end. Great historical read based on true events!

A Cold Creek Christmas: A single dad, small town holiday novella (Reigning Hearts #5) by K.G. Fletcher

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to keep her readers entertained. This book is amazing and had me hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down.

Amber hasn’t ever had a Christmas that she has liked. When she meets Giovanni he opens her eyes to Christmas. The thought of him having a daughter scares her, but it doesn’t stop her. The quote I chose for Amber is: “He’s making breakfast? Of course he is. He’s a chef, Amber. Act surprised and enjoy every delicious morsel. And for God’s sake, don’t even suggest mimosas. Can’t have another repeat of last night.”

Giovanni is a single dad who is now living with his grandmother. He’s taking over her shop and needs to live up to her name. When he learns Amber’s story he vows to make it the best first Christmas she’s ever had. The quote I chose for Giovanni is: “I want to kiss you, Amber. I’ve wanted to kiss your pouty mouth all evening.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This isn’t a genre I read often but I thought I would take a chance on this one. It took me a little while to get into it but once I did I was hooked. The author did a great job building a world full of fantasy, action, magic, and great characters. This book is different from any other fantasy books I have read before and that sets it apart and makes for good reading. Ian Troy has spent a very long time running away from his past but people haven’t forgotten what he did. There is certainly a high price to pay for using magic. We are taken on an adventure in this story and left wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is the last book in this series and what an ending it was. Although I did not read all of the books (I think I missed the first two) I still fell right into the books, the characters, and continued from there. This book concentrated on Lazarus and Sasha. These two have been attracted to each other for a while but have pushed each other away because of personal priorities and misgivings. Finally they are doing something for themselves.
As with the other books, these characters pull you in and make you feel like you are a part of the story. And the connections these brothers have, although hard to grasp all the hurt and issues they have is amazing. The author did a wonderful job with this conclusion to the series.

Best Audio Story Yet

The author has done it again!!! I’ve read another of her series, so I was really excited to sink my teeth into another of her fantasy series. With her story, and the narration this is easily my favorite audible. The narrator did an absolutely phenomenal job bringing this story to life. I haven’t ever heard anyone do quite so many different vocals, and do them WELL.

This dark, intense, and highly action packed story is gripping from beginning to end. I picked it up and simply couldn’t put it down. It was a little raunchier than I was expecting, so I had to take some breaks. The main character can be a bit of a rake. I would have liked to see a little more character development, which may be happening in his next adventure.

All in all, I can’t wait to read the second book and find out what happens next.

This is my first experience with Eve Sawyer, but the 3rd book in the series. I’ll be going back to book 1! This book was easy to follow and a fine stand alone story, but I always enjoy the extra from reading a whole series and having more backstory to characters. This is a really great, fast paced, quick read.

In this book, Eve has just finished solving the mystery from book 2 and is returning to school – but her success as a sleuth has brought attention to her in the form of a mom looking for her college student child who didn’t make it home. Will Eve figure out what has happened? Will she stay safe and get back to her college student life?
