This extremely well written and highly entertaining historical novel set in the 1600s definitely sticks true to the saying that no path to true love runs smooth. Both of the main characters, Jacek and Oliwia, who I love, experience many ups and downs along their journey and you feel them all right along with them. I for one can’t wait for the second book too see what awaits us!

I can’t believe this is the author’s first novel. It definitely doesn’t read like a debut novel. The story is beautifully executed, building well while still being fast paced. I loved how the main character wasn’t the typical perfect character. She was down on her luck, flawed, and relatable. I look forward to reading anything else this author writes!

Focusing on 22 year old Jacek, one of the best warriors of the winged Hussars, a feared and deadly Polish cavalry. Stumbling upon a bloody raid Jacek forsakes his stoic personality and saves Two Muscovy siblings,Oliwia a 15 year old girl and her younger brother of 6 Filip. Their parents and village slaughtered and with no known family, they have nowhere else to go than with these men who consider their people enemies…. A wonderful work of historical fiction that was really well researched. I really love how detailed this book was. The battle scenes were so vivid I could picture everything so clearly in my mind. I found myself drifting into the 17th century and feeling what it would be like to live in that time. I also loved the development of the characters and their relationships through to the end. A great choice for a date with a book!

Finally, I feel like I have waited my entire life to read this book. We have the original story of vampire verse lycan with a huge twist. There is another threat out there that can destroy everything near and dear. We continue the love story of wolf and vampire with Levi and Tasha….. And their child. I didn’t see that coming. This book is the absolute icing on the series. This is a breath-taking finale. The author managed to encase the lies, magic and love all into this story. I want more surprisingly. This was the best book of the three. I love Levi I have from the very beginning. I am giving this book all the stars. Read this series from the beginning and you will not be disappointed. Genius.

I cannot believe States of Grace is a debut novel! The complexity of the main character, Grace Locke, is multi-layered but relatable and I rooted for her from page one. The author writes as if she is well-seasoned with multiple best-selling novels under her proverbial belt. I flew through this book, hungry for the next installment of the Grace Locke Mystery Series. The story is filled with twists and turns that Grace must navigate to not only try and prove the innocence of her high-profile client but save her career. I cannot recommend this book and author enough and am looking forward to snatching up her next works as soon as they’re available!

This book was so perfect, and beautifully done it is incredibly hard for me to believe that it’s the authors first novel. I was originally drawn to this novel by its cover and the blurb on the back. But once I started the novel I couldn’t put it down. The authors writing flows just as beautifully as the plot. This book has everything you could want in a lawyering thriller filled with mystery, murder, lawyers, the Florida state bar and so much more. The plot flowed so beautifully that the pages just flew by and I couldn’t put it down. Grace’s character really spoke to me, even though she’s been knocked down several times she just gets back up and fights even harder. She’s really a character that you can get behind. But in the long run this story was so perfect that I can’t wait for the next book from this author.

Grace is at the last straw with life and her career, with a pretty big addiction can she help herself and also help the young girl she has just taken on as a client.
Grace is at a low point in her life, just been released from jail and needing to raise some money to survive she is more comfortable prosecuting the innocent not the perceived guilty, but as she works through the case. Grace starts to investigate and finds stuff that is wrong and she is starting thinking maybe there is more to this case than first thought.
I really enjoyed this story, this is the first book I have read by this author and it was thrilling and it grips you. I loved the way the book weaves through the clues and you piece together with Grace to find if her client is really guilty.
The characters are well developed and I loved the fact that Grace is a little flawed, being an army vet with a disability was brilliant to read, the interactions with the secondary characters are great and enhances the story.
I can’t wait to read more books by this author in the future.

Rebecca Steele Living the Dream is the third and final book in The Rebecca Steele series by Joanne Patterson. This is a sweet western romance- full of emotion, challenges, family, and dramatic developments. This book follows on from the previous two, and as such, I highly recommend reading the other books before starting on this one as the previous books contain important character information, back story, and other relevant details that will help you to better appreciate this story, as well as the series, as a whole. I have enjoyed this series, so finding this book is the final instalment made it a bit of bittersweet experience. Finding out how Rebecca’s story concludes was a bit of an emotional ride- the author didn’t make things easy for her- she was tested with new challenges that impacted everything she held dear. What happens makes for an emotional, angsty, and yet heartwarming read. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Patterson does next. Happy reading!

This was a sweet culmination to a series I have really come to love and enjoy from the very beginning. Rebecca has really come a long way from the first book to this one where we see her finding her way in the world as a new mom and wife to the love of her life. She doesn’t have the easiest path laid out for her though and will need to navigate some forks in the road as well as some growing pains. I loved following along through it all and only wish there was more to come. I am anxious to see what will come next though, whatever that may be. I will for sure be here for any of it!

Grace Locke is a woman with an interesting past and an uncertain future, she is an Army veteran who served in some of the most harsh environments out there until an IED went off beneath the vehicle she was travelling in and meant she lost her leg. That was a pivotal moment in her life, like others before then, but it was a pivot that started a downward turns of events including addiction, an arrest and nearly losing her license to practice Law, but despite all of these challenges while also living in a motel and going through a divorce, Grace is tough and does what she needs to, to get herself out of the hole she has made for herself through her indiscretions.
After she has successfully finished defending another guilty party, Grace despises what she has to do to get by, but has no other choice at this very moment in time, until she sees some breaking news in the bar she frequents while she is drinking her espresso and coke mix. It is a high profile murder case where the accused is a young girl from a rich family and she realises that the mother of said girl is the very same woman who is the reason she is going through a divorce. In this case, it is the opposite and as Grace starts to dig deeper to prove her client’s innocence, she discovers that the victim was not all that they were shown to be and that they were involved in the dark side of a underground pill mill system, one that Grace is all too familiar with, but will Grace be able to gather the evidence she needs to prove her client’s innocence in time, or will the police remain one step ahead and garner the conviction they so desperately seek? This is a thrilling mystery which will keep you guessing as you follow the case along amid misdirection, secrets, revelations, grudges and guilt where nothing is as it seems and everything is on the line.

Even though this is the third book in the series it’s the first book I have read in this series. The characters are well written and amazing strong willed with little quirks that make them feel real.
Master Trentino finds Angel the sister of their mortal enemy lying in a pool of human blood, and damn the consequences, takes matters into his own hands. He needs to turn Angel a psychic to save her life.
Angel has been taught to despise and fear the dark fanged dwellers of the underworld but there is just something about Trentino that just pulls her to him.

Very Impressed with this book! The last two were ok but this one the author knocked it out of the park! I love all the action and drama in the story. This one grabbed me from page one and I was hooked til the end.
In here Trentino is the Master but Angel is the star! Her character really grows as she is pulled from her old life and thrust into her new one. I really enjoyed all her time with the “girls” and how confident she becomes.
We get to see a lot of the other two Masters we have met in previous books. I like how they all hang out and help each other to further their kind. I love their fondness and protectiveness of their mates.
Overall I throughly enjoyed this story! Its the third in the series and to get full enjoyment and understanding I would suggest reading them in order. I eagerly look forward to the next!

Forbidden Moon is the third book in The Shadow Chronicles it’sa Paranormal Romance that I absolutely loved reading. This picks up where the last book left off and I highly recommend reading the first two books if you haven’t already started them. Reading this in order will give you a better understanding of what is going on and you get to know the characters better. Whew this is a fast paced story packed with action, magic mystery and suspense. This story I couldn’t wait to dive in and once I started there was no putting it down. This author is one of my favorites and this series is on the top of t my re-read list for sure. Get ready to be taken on quite the adventure with Tasha and Levi as they fight a threat they didn’t know existed. They have along the way made allie and some enemies but can they uncover the true species before its to late? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t recommend this author or this series enough. I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next.

Somehow I started on book two so I will need to go back and read the first to learn more about Emma and some of the events that are talked about throughout book two! Even not reading the first book, I have been able to easily follow the story and the characters. Emma is a teen detective who graduated from business school and has been working with local companies to find women jobs. She also solves crimes that arise and that are brought to her. I love Emma and the group of friends and family that she is surrounded by. I liked the idea of growing up in a boarding house and like getting to know the characters that were part of the day to day. The crimes don’t seem ridiculous for a teen and even though some are dangerous, Emma always walks though the steps so she knows how to get to the bottom of them. The story is set in the 1800’s, but it doesn’t feel out of date even though Emma rides her bike everywhere which is also a fun element. What I loved most about the book was how the author portrayed this young girl as so strong, independent, and capable of anything she put her mind to – a great way to show a strong young woman protagonist!
This is an awesome debut for this author and I can’t wait to read more from her. I loved this book. The author has a way of bringing the characters to life and making them seem so real. The story flows nicely and at a great pace. If you like legal thrillers you will love this book. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Grace.

From page one this author really found a unique way to draw you into the story. It set a kind of precedent for the two main characters that had me completely hooked. The storyline is one that contains everything you need in a good rocker romance. The characters each are complex and relatable, they draw you in for some many different reasons each different in their own right. This author took me on a ride with this story and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better story. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five big stars and highly recommended!

This is such a fascinating historical fiction read. I was intrigued from the very beginning and enjoyed learning more about Poland and their struggles in the 17th century. The characters drew me in and had me rooting for them from the get-go. I enjoy reading books where there are twists that don’t line up with what I think is going to happen. And this book did not disappoint in that aspect. In fact, I was left a little heartbroken at the end of this book and will have to read book 2 to see how it all ends!

I picked this novel up after I had already read a couple of similar novels by other authors and was very intrigued to see the difference between their writing styles and this author. I can certainly say I was very pleased to find that the one of the main characters, being Jared, isn’t your typical ‘perfect’ male lead, rather, we’re introduced to his speech impediment quickly. It’s not very often you pick up a romance novel that includes someone that is less than perfect in the simplest of ways. Despite this, he is every bit as swoon worthy, with this my father comes first mentality. It was only right that he met someone that felt the same way. Madison is his father’s nurse, and is fully committed to the well-being of Mr. Christopher, putting him first despite what the consequences. This novel was heartwarming, tear-jerking, the losses and gains throughout created this enthralling read.
I adore the way this author brings the reader into their world, I personally felt as though I was walking the halls with Jared as he went to visit his father the first time since Madison or “Cookie” had started working, and felt the emotional turmoil that goes along with such. You feel connected to not only the two main characters, but Jared’s band mates, and as we come to feel the intensity of their friendships, they’re not only friends, but family as well. Overall, the character building, the story that unfolds, and the emotions that swirl off the pages are simply addicting. I very much look forward to reading the rest of the novels in this series. I’ll be back!

This is the first YA book I have read since I began teaching high school. It is awesome! The characters completely resonate with high school students and their turbulent emotions. I found the flow of the story to be believable. Completely engrossed in the novel, I enjoyed a cathartic sob session. A character that I found to be reprehensible redeemed himself throughout the telling, and I found myself rooting for him in the end, and I am reminded that people grow and change over time.

This is book three in this great series and I have read a few books written by this author and she hasn’t disappointed me yet. The characters are strong they have to be in their world. I love the little quirks and the way they play off each other makes them somewhat real. This book had it all action, tension, betrayal, romance. Stefano Rossi the next Mafia Boss and Emiliana Vitale Mafia princess fell in love but they need to keep it a secret especially from Stefanos ruthless father. They meet in secret even if it’s for a few stolen moments. Their relationship is full of risk and danger but, Stefano has a plan especially now that he knows there’s a rat in the organization. Emiliana has clawed her way through hell and back from a vicious attack initiated by a rat within the Five Families, she is a changed woman, and the darkness in her matches Stefano’s. She is ready to expose the rat and move forward with her life besides Stefano. Can these two unmask the rat? Will Emiliana get her revenge? Oh my god! What an amazing ending to an exciting series. This book has it all; vampires, werewolves, demons, danger and fated mates. What more could you want? The story was so engrossing, I felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. This has to be my favourite of the three. The plot thickens and danger is around every corner. This book has me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath.
The author has created an incredible world. With a few tweaks to the usual traits of vampires and werewolves, the author has created a unique new version. I’m so happy that I have read this series. Do yourself a favour and set aside some time and read it for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Unlikely to Stay by Olivia Sherwood is the third book in the Parker Lake series and is centred around Brant and Colleen or CC as she is know by and is a great romantic story.
The story is a fast flowing, well written story which brought theses to characters to life, I love a book that you can just get lost into and Unlikely to stay is a great story to do this with. I enjoyed all the characters that were in this book but I especially enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters Brant and Colleen.
Brant is a nurse practitioner and Colleen or CC is a hairdresser within the town of Parker, both have serious crushes on each other but are not prepared to admit just yet that until one night CC’s friend’s decide to bid in the bachelor auction and buy CC a date with the handsome Brant.
They hit it off and the rest is history, but will there pasts be the ending to the new relationship they have created or will it be too late for it to be over. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and hope these wonderful characters are included in the other books. I would recommend this series to my friends.

I picked up Flying on the Inside mainly because of the subtitle. I was hoping to find a very heartfelt story about a woman’s incredible journey. While there were a few moments that touched my heart, unfortunately it felt more like an information book about the dos and dont’s when it comes to brain trauma. The parts that she shared about Nicola and Nic felt almost forced into the story which then threw it off for me. It all felt more clinical than heartfelt. I can only imagine the hard journey this woman has been on and I think she is incredibly brave to share it. This book gave a lot of information and I think would be extremely helpful and a good resource for anyone who has experienced the same thing. I think that the author did a very good job of researching and admire that she wrote the book at all. If you are looking for a tearjerker type book to connect to like I was I don’t think this will meet that, but if you are looking for a book that you can connect to on a different level you should give it a try for yourself.

Stepping outside of my normal genre, I fell in love with this book from the first chapter. This book is full of war, heroes, bad guys, and romance. Jacek Dabrowski is the newly appointed lieutenant of the Hussars has much to prove to the Captain and the Lord Eryk of Biaska’s. As a village is destroyed, the Lieutenant rescues the village sole survivors, a younger girl, and an even a younger boy. Oliwia, the young female survivor, becomes Lady Oliwia when it is found out that she is a lady of title. After much time Jacek and Oliwia’s friendship blossoms into a little more but when Jacek is away on campaign and Lord Eryk’s wife Lady Katarzyna passes away, could Jacek and Oliwia’s relationship end before it started? This was a great book and I can’t wait to A Hussar’s Promise, the second book in this series.

Sci fiction romnace I read this book and it was okay. I couldn’t connect to the characters or get into thier world I knew I was reading a book. It was your typical romance trope. It’s a quick read and definitely one for someone who who enjoys science fiction . Some of the challenges these characters go through are extremely hard. I was excited to read this book but the writing style was not for me I think I will revisit another time. X

I absolutely loved this book! From the moment that I read the synopsis, I knew that I had to read this. A post-apocalyptic story that fits too well into our covid-ridden world. There were many similarities between the people and events in this book to our current pandemic — other than the hyenas/zombies attacking the main characters! I really enjoyed the characters and hope to read more about Kella, Huck, Jumper, and Finch in the next book!

This book really had a way of pulling me in and wanting to find out what would happen next. The characters were very well written, even though at times I didn’t like them very much! There was the perfect amount of angst, emotion, betrayal and heartbreak to make it grab at your heartstrings. A lot of times I get confused when a book goes from the past to present, but this one was written in a way where it touched on the past without being confusing. I really enjoyed this book!

I swear with each book in this series the stories get better and better. I think it’s because we get a glimpse of these characters in previous books, and we get just enough to pull us in, so that we need to stick around to hear their stories. Even in the first two books, you get a glimpse of why Stefano and Emiliana are meant to be together. Each character has ghosts in their past, Stefano has lost his siblings and mother to death, it is now only him and his sister who was married off by their father against everyone else’s. Stefano knows he needs to stop his father from the track he is on, and that he can’t have the true love of our life with his father still alive. Emiliana has a haunting past, and everyone treats her as if she is broken. However, surviving is what has made her even stronger. I can’t wait for Book 4 to come out in January!
