Jay & Sasha You can read this collection without having to read the other series associated with it, but if you want to know more about the characters you should read other works by this author. When I first ran across the Sasha character (in a previous series), I didn’t like her very much. She was creating a lot of drama. In this story, you get a better understanding of why she is the way she is. I changed the way I felt about her in this book. As you read this story you are likely to feel a wide range of emotions. The story keeps up a good pace and has characters you can connect to. Suspense, steamy scenes, danger…overall a great read.
Matt and Marenah There were a couple of parts toward the beginning that grated on me a little, but it wasn’t enough to ruin the whole story. It starts off with a bang and maintains a good pace throughout. There are plenty of steamy scenes and suspenseful moments to keep your attention to the very end. It took me a little bit to warm up to Matt…that Princess bit just was not working for me. I enjoyed Marenah’s feistiness, and how many layers there are to her character.

This was a really nice, relaxed read and one that I really enjoyed. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from her in the future. Andy and Anne were lovely characters to read about. Andy was so sweet in the way he went about trying to court Ann, I loved the innocence in the letter writing and how their relationship developed through this. This was a lovely, heart warming story and one that I would recommend.
This book was so good! I love a good trigger warning. I am not a big fan of the MM expletives, but I am not a fan of MF expletives either and I am married to a man. BUT, I cannot fault the author for that because the storyline and even the expletives are incredibly well written.
This book hit me in the feels. Benji and Milo are two amazing characters with an immense amount of personality. They both have been through a lot dealing with the loss of Kellan and their parents not being the best. However, I love a good happy ending. I cannot recommend this novel enough. I may have found one of my new favorite authors!

5 Stars Be True with Me (Be with Me Series) by CA Miconi
Be True with Me is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance/Second Chance interracial Romance that will take you on quite the emotional journey. I’ve read other books by this author and this one is definitely my favorite yet. This is a sweet short story that will pull at heartstrings . These two dated in college but was torn apart by a misunderstanding. Several years later they are now working on the same case. Lauren is a social worker and Jake’s a cop. These two definitely have chemistry between them. Can she open her heart to him? Will she give him the chance to explain what happened all those years ago? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Bookbub – Children of the Wild (Children of the Wild Series) by Krysta Tawlks
A breathtaking historical fantasy placed in a rich setting reminiscent of Tuck Everlasting with whimsical magic like the films of Hayao Miyazaki.
Is magic a gift…
or a curse?
In a quaint early 20th century farm town, young Elbert enjoys his ordinary life with his ordinary family.
Or so he thinks. One day, a burning sensation digs into his chest, gentle breezes chafe his skin, and water stings. Soon, feathers sprout across his body.
He discovers magic in the hills, mighty creatures lurking near the river. And Elbert might be one of them. But only he can decide whether to grow the magic spark within himself or let it snuff out.
This poignant story follows a boy struggling with self doubt and grief, and the ones who give him hope enough to break a curse.
Krysta Tawlks is the author of Children of the Wild and several short stories. She grew up watching hot air balloons float by her small country house, spent a few years post grad in Thailand, humbling her Western mind, and currently teaches English skills to language learners. She lives with her husband and son in northern California.

Can Christmas bring two hurting souls together and spark a new love? A sweet faith-filled Amish holiday story that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart!
Christmas is Anne Eicher’s favorite time of year. She not only loves the joy of the season, but the baking and festivities around the holiday as well. But facing another year alone isn’t what she had planned.
So, when she receives a mysterious letter from a secret admirer, she must decide if she’s willing to take another chance at love.
Deep inside Andrew Stoltzfus’s soul burns an admiration for Anne Eicher. He’s never known anyone like her. She’s exactly what his heart craves—someone whose love is genuine, faithful, and true. Unlike her sister who dropped him the instant Glen Kauffman returned to the community.
Andy doesn’t think he stands a chance with the eldest Eicher sister, though, so he devises a plan to win her heart—and her hand.
But what happens when his plan backfires?
A sweet faith-filled holiday story that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart!

I’ve never once protected someone outside of the job, or felt compelled to do anything of the kind, until Sasha.
Those beautiful hazy-filled eyes watch me with interest, suspicion, and longing, but something else too. An emotion that stirs a deep-seated need to control as though she were put on earth just for me.
The hot-headed Russian may be graceful for the public but is sharp-edged and deliciously sinful when not on stage.
When Sasha falls on the wrong side of the mafia, keeping her safe is not a question, but there’s much more at stake than danger in this power game we play.
I want to peel away the older layers she uses to protect her heart and replace it with a fiery ring that will protect her from anything and everything in this forbidden game of love and war.
My reputation and name are whispered on the lips of our enemies for a reason. I dare anyone, even the most notorious of crime families, to stand in the way of me claiming my wayward angel.
Matt and Marenah:
The last thing I expect to find when on an undercover assignment is an innocent blonde with sky blue eyes who makes my heart pound with excitement and blood race with an intensity that I’ve never felt before.
But the granddaughter of the head of the Russian Bratva is not who she appears to be. Not even her family knows her life’s passion, where she goes when she’s not with them, or the secrets that she keeps.
I’ve earned the reputation of one of the most fearless and ruthless protectors in the business for a reason. I’m not about to let any crime family come between me and the woman I want.
When secrets are revealed, I will protect, tame, and make the innocent and off limit mafia princess mine.
Even if the fearless beauty’s good intentions may be the demise of us all.

Karina promised to run her grandmother’s business, Gigi’s Café after she passed away. Unfortunately, one busy day at the café causes Karina to lose Gigi’s diary. The whole town of Millersville is actively looking for the diary due to the potential for a large sum of hidden money. Join Karina to unravel the truth of the missing journal and discover family secrets. I highly recommend reading Secrets at the Café! All the characters are relatable. The book has perfect suspense and great plot twists.
Secrets at the Café by Susan Specht Oram was a wonderful addition to the other stories that take place in Millersville. I loved that she included characters from Shore Lodge and The Thieves. Bets and Zerk make an appearance in the first few pages, they are married and have left their life of crime behind. I absolutely loved the tie ins from the other books she has written. I look forward to reading more tales from Millersville!

Grave Digger Academy IV is Makayla’s fourth year at Grave Digger Academy. This series is starting to get dark! Helpers have been outlawed. Mary Meet is no longer running the GDA. Makayla is in damager of being betrayed with every step. She finds out more about her family ties and starts to learn more magic. This year students are learning about familiars and grimoires. I highly enjoyed this part of the series because of the interesting twists and turns this series is taking. I cannot wait to read the final book in the series, this one ends on a cliffhanger!

Grave Digger Academy III is Makayla’s third year at Grave Digger Academy. She is stuck at Grave Digger Academy due to her lineage and is being watched by the Crones. Students and teachers have disappeared. Maybe they have just not come back for the school year? Join Makayla and her friends as they continue to unravel the GDA secrets. I enjoyed this book because Makayla started to learn and practice more magic. I would recommend it for those in middle school but can be enjoyed at older ages as well. I look forward to reading the next part of the series.

Grave Digger Academy II is Makayla’s second year at Grave Digger Academy. This time there is a competition among all the academies. Makayla’s brothers are hoping to beat her school. This book is extremely easy to read. I loved Makayla’s new helper in this tale. I would recommend it for those in middle school but can be enjoyed at older ages as well. Grave Digger Academy I is a short tale about Makayla. She gets sent to the Grave Digger Academy, which just happens to be the last choice that students have. It turns out that she may have unexpected powers that tie back to her family tree. The book has magic, humor, and is easy to read. I felt a touch of Harry Potter due to the magical school setting for young witches. I would recommend it for those in middle school but can be enjoyed if you’re older as well! I look forward to reading the next installment.

Another great story! I loved it more than the first one. Rusty is such a great kid. His character is so relatable. He’s struggling with his grandpa having Alzheimer’s, his father losing his job and understanding the true meaning of Christmas. I think the author did an amazing job tying in the religious traditions of Christmas with the secular traditions of Christmas. It was well written. My adult self teared up at some of the adventures Rusty experienced. It was heartwarming, meaningful and a great reminder of what’s important. I cannot wait to read this to my little one. Oh and the glossary and explanations at the end is great for kids to understand topics they may not know about.

What has Logan gotten herself into this time. A short family trip to the Oregon coast has gone terribly wrong, and Logan is once again in the middle of it. Spending time with her family is exactly what Logan and her family need, a week away at a friend’s cabin. While they are vacationing, a murder occurs and in true Logan style she is now a part of the investigation. Another wonderful murder mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the very end.

History and mystery. This is the second book in the Toronto Time Agents series but is the first book I have read by this author. I had no trouble keeping track with the story as each book seems to be a standalone plot. It was a very interesting read for a rainy day before my boys got out of school for thanksgiving break. Wilda Firestone has decades of experience being a Temporal Agent but her time on the force is done she is ready to retire and just enjoy her passion for making period appropriate clothing for travelers. Only Pembley, her boss, has decided that he will give her what she wants to meet an ancestor from the 1800s if she begins training new agents. While the agreement is suspicious, she agrees, Sir Algernon was once a policeman but now wants to be a Temporal Agent and is Wilda’s trainee, before they can go on their mission an explosion happens in the Agency for Time Tourism next door to her workshop/store. Her curiosity spikes when along with her anger over her life’s work being destroyed in the attack. With the only time machine in Canada reduced to ashes they must find another way to complete their mission. Only things change and the mission along with it. They are no longer on a strictly training mission they are on the hunt for terrorists that have taken everything away from her. What they find is not what they expected as they search for the answers to repair the time stream. Why was the time machine targeted? Will Wilda make it in time to stop the terrorists? What has happened and how deep does it go? The world C.N. Jackson has melded together is one of intrigue, mystery, and suspense as you’re sucked back in time with Wilda on the hunt for the answers. I couldn’t help myself from getting wrapped up in the questions, rushing from page to page in search of the answers with her. This book shows history without blinders, no false illusions of how the times were and what was or wasn’t acceptable its truth which builds the world more with each turning page. Wilda is a force to be reckoned with and she will find her answers no matter when and where. I can’t wait for book three, Unraveling Brigid’s Veil October 24th, 2024, to see what Wilda faces next.

Great kids book. This book sparks imagination, creativity and teamwork. Dylan wants to find out who stole Mrs. Lane’s mail and doesn’t really want his younger sister Emily tagging along. Surprising to him, Emily has a great idea, and one that helps Dylan solve the case. I love the images interspersed through the book to give the child reading a picture of what is happening, it really helped in my mind as well to picture the whole scenario.

Very interesting book. It did take me a bit to get into the story, but alas, I did. The way the mage’s song was described, I can only image how terrifying that would sound. Watching the adventure and life and death situations Oden encounters trying to protect his daughter and the world she lives in was nerve wracking and brave. He wanted to ensure her future even if it meant he was going to be taken from her. Penny is a strong little girl, Oden doesn’t give her enough credit, but I think by the end he realizes just how much Penny understands and can help. It feels like more is coming for the town of Shard Moure, it feels like the mages have just retreated for now.
A little cheesy and a whole lot of beautiful. This couple, Lauren and Jason, were wonderful together, but their misunderstanding during their college days really messed up what they could have had with each other. I can imagine Lauren’s heartbreak. Seeing them meet up again after so long seems like fate to me. I love Lauren’s heart, she is so caring and passionate about helping others. Her taking in the twins for the Christmas season, and Jason helping out really rekindled the love they had for each other. Sweet romance, sweet couple.

They must try to get free and retrieve the relic from the Minotaur’s Lair to defeat the Dark Master. This story continues to be phenomenal. There is plenty of adventure and action. The characters are as wonderful as in the previous book and the writing is wonderful. I really enjoyed the ending to this series.
