They are wary of trusting, but … passion has its own rules.
Marketing manager, ANNA TURNER promised reliable, affordable childcare to co-workers under pressure. Proud of negotiating the perfect lease for her employer, a hostile takeover of the building steals her ideal premises.
Architect and property-developer, HUNTER THOMPSON, smells betrayal on his father’s breath. An old pattern, but this time his old man plans a hostile takeover of a building owned by the family who raised Hunter as a second son. Hunter out-manoeuvres his father, buying the building himself.
Attending an industry cocktail party, Anna hears Hunter say her magic word, “architect”. Revealing her ideal childcare centre plan to him, Anna discovers Hunter tore up her precious lease. Anna is breathtaking in her rage. Intrigued, Hunter offers a new lease, with the opportunity to work together.
Hunter can’t risk long term. Anna doesn’t do hook-ups – ever. Hidden within their whirlwind romance and growing trust, secrets resurface with devastating consequences. Anna’s mantra – ‘I share myself, you share yourself, if you want to get into my bed’ – may not survive.

While this series can be read as a stand-alone I would recommend you start at the beginning for a more full rounded read and that is my no fault of the author but a personal choice ❣️📚
Isabella is a brave and honourable girl she made a promise to her dad and she’s going to fulfil it and it’s not going to be an easy task as she’s a wanted woman …..but she knows she can rely on Tom to help
Tom and Isabella share some history so I can just imagine how he felt when she reaches out to him out the blue and it’s not a small thing she’s needing him for either
So Isabella and Tom head “ hone” hopefully without being detected but as luck would have it they’re spotted by an d friend it is he for !?
When Isabella and Tom are separated the real action and suspense starts and there were some moments I was on the edge of my seat , holding my breath …

I just wanted to lick the cover and make it mine 😱🔥🤣🤷♀️🙈
Naseer and Jade are a couple you’ll either love , hate or love to hate 🤣😉🙈I know there were times that they irritated me a little but their strong points outshone those weak moments 🥰
Naseer is a a grumpy , miserable but delectable speciMAN and it would seem he had a weak spot where Jade is concerned because let’s face it how does one resist this kind , loving and beautiful girl ?
Both have been through a lot and have scars but they’re each others healing balm and darn it they kept me on my toes 🤣 but they’ve got a special place in my heart 😉

I just love when I read a book and it actually feels like I’m right there in that very location with the characters ! It’s like I just want to grab my passport , pack my bags and go 😉
Jorja arrives at Istanbul airport and her best friend isn’t there to meet her and when she arrives at the hotel all her things are there and nobody can reach her and nobody has heard from her in a few days 🤷♀️😱 has Gabriella been abducted !?
The hunt is on for Gabriella but Jorja has her hands full with a foreign country , foreign language , strange culture and customs , bribery , corruption , greed , lies and dangerous characters .
Despite the feelings of anxiousness , fear , suspense and everything else there was a strong sense of the value of friendship and friends are the family we choose , our family not by blood and Jorja went all out for hers , she’s someone I’d want in my tribe 😉

I loved how this book started with such a special and heartfelt dedication ❣️
When I started reading this I couldn’t help but have a good giggle because we often hear how we take anything to God and April quite literally does just that praying for her Lululemon rain jacket to arrive 🤣🙏 I was invested right there and then so I let my family know that they’d have to stretch or starve and I’d be unavailable for the next couple of hours ❣️📚🤣
Big city girl April now works as a reporter in small town Laurel Lake along with her 4 legged bestie Ralph 🥰🐾 and Wesley the local vet seems to be rather taken with her as well and after helping solve a string of break ins and poisonings the locals seem to be warming up to her as well and hello she went from suspect to mystery solver!
Well this time round April has her hands full and she still can’t crochet 🤣 the grocery store burns down and despite the fact that the owner was as miserable as sin there’s a mystery to solve and April finds herself in a dangerous situation on more than one occasion …
April and friends will make you wish you were part of their inner circle and their “ adventures “

I’m such a spoilt little brat I didn’t have to wait to start this I literally closed “ A King so Savage” has a quick tea and cookie break and went straight back into my little bubble 🤣📚❣️
Just a fair warning again , if you don’t take to dark , depraved , violent reads avoid this and if this is your first rodeo start at the beginning role you’ll be doing yourself a hugs injustice ( just saying )
Yes my little dark heart still loves Kingston , I know I’m weak and I think Ava really is the only one that gets me 🥰😱🙈
Kingston and Ava are the definition of love to hate and hate to love the push and pull between these 2 had me screaming , shouting , chewing my nails to the bit and breaking out in hives !
https://itsybitsybookbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/IBBB_2020_logo_sq.png00Heidihttps://itsybitsybookbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/IBBB_2020_logo_sq.pngHeidi2024-02-17 02:44:132024-03-14 08:33:36A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Heidi Sturgess
Oh be still my beating heart and shattered nerves ! Ava and Kingston were the reason my blood pressure was sky high and my heart beat so erratic 😱🔥
Kingston is a man who wants what he wants and if he can’t buy it it get it willingly he’ll take it and Ava is no different , he wants her , he claims her , he owns her ! He is savage . He is cruel . He is dominant. He is dark . He is a bully . I can’t help but have a soft spot for him because every “ monster” has a story of how and why they are who and what they are and every “ monster” has a weak spot and Ava will soften Kingston .
I don’t want to focus on Ava’s brother Carson because he’s a waste of space and shouldn’t be allowed to breathe the air we do and it’s because of him Ava is in the predicament she is and that make me sick to to pit of my stomach but my “ dark side” wants to say thank you because she has Kingston and he’ll go to the ends of the earth for her ( yes for his reasons but she’s still his priority ) I know my twisted side likes to comes out and play 🙈🤣🔥
I could just feel Ava’s initial confusion when she comes out of her drugged state , I could feel her her fear , frustration , humiliation and hurt and the story unfolds , Ava has some fight in her though I remember her attacking Kingston in the beginning with an ornament and she gets quite fierce and feisty and she wasn’t easily subdued🤣🤩
If dark, sadistic , violent and mature content isn’t for you avoid this or at least try and look past it and see the characters and their story , see the bond that Kingston had with Garrett ( Ava’s dad) see the pain these people have to experience in their lives , see what it’s made them and how they’ve overcome it … see why I love them 😍

Having read the previous 2 books I was rather keen to get stuck into this one because you read of the different family members and you get furious don’t you , so when the opportunity comes knocking to discover more you grab it 😉
Two things that bring families together , weddings and funerals . Fortunately in this instance it’s a wedding ! Yay ! So Teresa is getting married and David her brother , who’s been working in Africa , joins them in Port Townsend . Something is off though , he doesn’t seem himself and there’s a fiancé in tow ….
Family friend , Maddie catches his eye and you can feel the tension between them and David is having a tough time fighting his desires and walking on eggshells to keep Sylvie happy….
Maddie being an actress has an opportunity with the local theatre and she feels she can’t pine after David forever and she catches the eye of Kilo….
There’s so much to love about this book but what really gets me and what I appreciate is the “ humanness “ of the characters , they’re real , their issues are real and they work through them 🥰
https://itsybitsybookbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/IBBB_2020_logo_sq.png00Heidihttps://itsybitsybookbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/IBBB_2020_logo_sq.pngHeidi2024-02-14 19:49:422024-02-16 09:14:35The Magic Man (The Olympic Peninsula Book 3) by Cat Treadgold – Review by Heidi Sturgess
Lela is a nurturer and sometimes it felt like she was putting herself second to get father and her niece , look don’t get me wrong she has a heart of gold and is loyal and dedicated to those she loves and I can’t fault her for that but to fill the needs of others you need to fill your own right !?
Anyhoo , Lela has been planning to live her life as soon as Sophie turns 18 but then she ups and runs off with her boyfriend and that leaves a massive spanner in the works Lela because now she’ll have to put her plans on hold so she can hunt Sophie and lover boy down in Malta !
Ok so maybe it’s not all bad because in her search for Sophie Lela had to work with Hamish who in torn works for her dad so I get her reservations but there’s an u deniable pull between them I mean you have to be blind not to pick up on it !
The past often affects the present and future especially where emotions are involved and both Hamish and Lela have baggage but they work through it and their story is a beautiful one to watch unfold ….
I think another reason I loved this book is because of Malta , my mom ( who has passed ) loved Malta so to a degree or felt like she was with me 🥰

When I read the dedication I already teared up and I just want to say thank you to Sara Vinduska for being vulnerable , for sharing a piece of her heart ❣️
Hayden is out checking the ranch perimeters when he’s shot , there’s a blizzard on the way and home is far away especially in his injured state thank goodness for Gunner his trustworthy horse that gets him to safety , one of the rental cabins …..
Ruby is on the run and is hiding in a remote place , she can hear , breathe and heal she can also think of her next move , she’s just made a fire to warm her rental cabin when she sees a horse and a man slumped over in his saddle …..
Despite her fear she brings him in , he’s bleeding and has been shot after all she can’t just leave him and there I know she’s a survivor because despite her fear of her past she doesn’t hide away she takes the bull by the horns , you go girl !
Ruby and Hayden find their rhythm while she’s nursing him and like Ruby I love his milk drinking ways 😉 Hayden realises she’s on the run and being confined they start sharing with each other and there’s an undeniable chemistry between then and Hayden is a saint in so many ways , he’s gentle , patient , kind and caring but he’s also protective and when her past comes knocking on the door , things get scary but Hayden and his family are there and Ruby is enveloped within their family …..
This was a read that my heart didn’t even know it needed and the cherry on top was my milk drinking cowboy 🤠 loved every page and Ruby deserves the peace that Hayden brings to her 🥰

This is such a sweet, heartwarming story. I absolutely loved the characters – Dorthy and Elias. They are well developed and complicated. They both show an amazing amount of growth and development throughout this story. Dorothy is a widow, who wants to travel on the Oregon Trail to meet up with her sister. Elias is a man of God who is going to travel the Oregon Trail to continue to spread the word of God. They both hit a bump in their path and find out they need each other to continue on their journey. This story was so well written and I found myself not wanting to put it down – I had to know what was going to happen with Elias and Dorothy. This book was just so amazing! I cannot recommend it enough. I also loved that it took place on the Oregon Trail, as I am a kid who grew up playing that computer game. This put those memories I have of that in context of characters who are actually faced with those decisions. I am pleasantly surprised to find out that this is one of several in a series and I will most definitely be reading them all. I just added P. Creeden to my authors I must read list!

Creeden – Review by Christine Baranek
This is a fantastic book. It follows Tom who is newly retired and is working to live his life outside of his past with the agency with his girlfriend Isabella. However, the past has a funny way of interrupting your plans. When a past case comes calling, Tom begrudgingly agrees to get involved. This past case involves a human trafficking ring, and those that he helped are now in danger again. He definitelly finds himself sucked right back into the case. This book is so fantastically well written and is hard to put down. It is suspenseful and thrilling and filled with twists and turns. Each time I thought I knew what was coming, I was very wrong. I definitely recommend reading this book and the whole series!

This is the third book in the Tom Grant Series. It can definitely be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the rest of the series just because it is such a well written page turner. This book is filled with action, adventure, spying, and out and out drama. It is written in such a way that I definitely did not want to put it down. Isabella and Tom are such well written and complicated but in a good way. They both keep the plot moving at a rapid pace. Isabella has promised her dad that she will go home. There is no telling whether she will return alive or dead when she leaves there – you see there is is a bounty on her. Tom is going with her because he doesn’t want to be without her. What happens from there is what makes this book so good. Samantha Adair does a fantastic job writing a plot that moves at a good pace that you really don’t want to stop reading. This book was filled with twists and turns. Definitely pick it up!

I’ve done myself a huge injustice ! I’ve not read all the books prior to this and I feel like I robbed myself 😢 so take it from me and start st the beginning not because I felt lost or confused but purely because it’s been such a good read 🥰📚
Drugs on a good day are bad news but when they’re being used as a weapon we’ve got serious trouble on our hands but Jake and Cody 🐾 are a team one shouldn’t underestimate 😉
I was quite worried and fearful at a stage because Jake was getting closer to answers and that means there’s a target on his back and both have their own issues to deal with yet they kept their cool . I love their relationship and dependence on each other , bonds between man and animal are so much tighter than that of human to human , animals are fearless and loyal but Cody is a kind and gentle character🐾
A mail biting edge of my seat read and again I just want to say start at the beginning 😉❣️📚

Having read the previous 3 books I knew I was in for a treat but this one was like a good red wine it only gets better with time 😉❣️📚
Loving the cover art and it really captures the characters natures , Cutis looks nerdy and with his rockstar persona you’d expect a certain arrogance but I tell you what , just watch him with kids and your knees will turn to jelly and the cover captures that perfect and as for Lina is captures her seriousness 😉so yes in this instance you can judge a book by its cover ❣️📚😉
So Curtis and his band are on your and Lina Is part of the protection detail , things get little more than tense when they’re witness to a lethal stabbing and now the mafia is after him and Lina is now full on protector and the hunt is on , the hunt for blood and the hunt for love , I know it sounds weird but read it and you’ll see where I’m coming from 🥰😉
Lina is very serious and Curtis is a lot more laid back and they bring out the best in each other I think , like yin and Yang ☯️ and I loved watching them find each other in between the twists , suspense and tension of their quest to stay safe . I enjoyed going with them to so many different places and sampling different cuisine 😉🤣it really was just a brilliant read from start to finish !

Oh my ! I’m drowning in this cover art ! It’s just so beautiful ! Much like what is in between the pages 😉
Also warn friends and family you’ll be unavailable to do anything as you immerse yourself into your book bubble , take snacks and drinks ( you know to survive ) and you’ll face reality when you get there 🤣
What is more delightful than getting 2 books on 1 !? I know my greedy little heart was soooooo happy 🤣🥰📚these women are fearless and will do anything for their men , to love and protect them 🥰 rest assured they get their HEA and there will be times where it looks impossible but take heart ❤️
Wayward
Sasha is just beautiful and such a graceful dancer but she’s also Jay’s kryptonite… she’s broken and feels used up but Jay is something else and I felt sorry to a degree for Sasha because she thinks she’s not worthy of love and affection and Jay is so patient with her and is determined to prove her otherwise …
Jay has his hands full because he’s also trying to protect Sasha from an outside threat but I like how despite their struggles there’s time for spice and fun 🔥
Sasha and Jay sure kept me on my toes , enjoy them 🥰😉
Undercover
We’ve met Jay and Sasha now it’s time to make new friends , Matt and Marenah ….
Matt lives life on the risky side and when he goes undercover and joins the mafia to gain confidences and intel my blood runs cold and I can feel my heart beating on my throat , then the Russians get their hands on him and I actually feel sick because I know what is going to happen , we’ll my mind runs wild and gory 🙈
Marenah is the granddaughter to the Russian mafia and she wants answers but she’s being hunted by the Russians and those in Chicago and she walks into the lions den when she goes looking for answers about her grandpa , now she’s captive with Matt ….
Matt and Marenah are wanted people and they’re in for the fight of their lives and I was on the edge of my seat for most of this read but again I can breathe at the end and my blood pressure returns to normal with a HEA 😉
Thank you guys for a suspense filled trip ❣️📚

Valkyrie always weaves such an interesting and unexpected story that defies what manner would assume to be the normal path of a beloved trope and genre. This short story was engaging and quick paced. The characters were quirky and relatable. If you are looking for a new book, pick this one up. Valkyrie is very gifted at engaging her readers and putting them in the middle of a very unexpected tale they will enjoy.

I feel like everytime I read a Lois Wickstrom book, I say that it is one of my favorites. And it’s true – every book I read is well written for children with wonderful pictures. This book is another wonderful story. This book gently tackles the idea of losing a loved one. It looks at how a fantastic bond between two people can transcend both life and death. I think this book would be great for children who are dealing with the loss of a loved one and would also be a good book to begin a conversation about loss. This book has a little more of a specific audience than other books by Lois Wickstrom, but I do feel that this book is so well written for those purposes and I definitely recommend it.
This is the second book in the Capture the Light Series. It is the first that I have read though and it most definitely reads as a standalone. There is some character overlap it seems but it most definitely does not take away from this story. This story features Claire and Finn. Who are incredibly well written characters and well developed. I do have to say that the author also does a fantastic job in describing the settings of Ireland and the Bakery so vividly that you feel as if you are right in the midst of it. This is an absolutely sweet and wonderful story with such a fantastic plot and characters. I definitely recommend picking up this book so that you can be swept up in Claire and Finn’s story as well.

This is book three of the series and the first book I’ve read by this author. You can read this book without feeling like you missed anything if you didn’t read book one or two. This book has a mystery plot that definitely pulls you in.
Blanche has an adventure in Vietnam while using her amateur sleuthing skills to find Jean’s mother. So many secrets and so much history woven through this story! You can tell the author either researched or has personal experience with Vietnam. It is so well written it’s like you are on the journey with Blanche!
It’s a good read and I may very well circle back and read the first two books in the series.
This book is book two of The Savage Duet. It picks up where book one left off so you definitely need to read book one first.
Kingston is a collector and Ava is no exception to that. The only difference is he begins to feel an attraction to her. Ava, after finding out her brother has abandoned her, struggles with her situation but eventually feels drawn to Kingston. She hates him and the situation he’s put her in but she can’t be without him either. Can these two have a normal relationship or will their circumstances be too difficult to overcome?
The chemistry between these characters is definitely off the charts. You want to hate Kingston like Ava does at first but as you read you understand him more. The characters and the story are very well written!

Good thing he does not remember her. This is the fourth book in the Heartstrings series, and you will love every page of it!

The Uncrowned king by Ayla Marie is the second installment to The Blood Prince. It is a story that surrounds Leo and his families hardships and constant struggle to find a peaceful life.
Leo and his siblings do everything in their power to survive, and they finally find a place where they feel like they can thrive. Being the heir to the throne of Illena making it all seem plausible, but Leo just wants to make sure his family is safe and taken care of. With no desire to take the throne.
I loved this tale, Ayla did a beautiful job capturing the essence of each character and how they fit into each part of the story. I couldn’t put this one down, I read it in a day literally. She did an excellent job staging every major event and that family and the ones you love will always prevail. 5 stars!

This was such a good ending for this series. I really loved how the author developed the story line and drew the story to a really interesting conclusion. This story and series has so many twists and turns and everything happens at such a fast pace that as a reader you are drawn in and captivated by the story. I recommend this series and author to anyone wanting to read a fantasy novel with a twist.

Dark romance, forced proximity… count me in. Ava’s brother owes Kingston a debt, his perfect excuse to get his hands on Ava. Ava has been through so much since her parents passed, but remains positive, where Kingston is ruthless and savage at all ends. This story is full of feist, angst, passion, pain and spice! I am very excited for book 2.

New series by Tam DeRudder Jackson.. and its SPORTS!!! Callahan O’Reilly is the college football all-star. Jamaica is the college all-star student. Paired together on a project, Callahan is determined to prove to Jamaica that he is not the “dumb jock” she thinks he is. This is a fun sports romance with characters that are easy to love. I’m excited to see what else this sports world brings.

This is the 4th book in the Heartstrings Series. Seraphina is a Cupid tasked with helping hockey player Seth Maxwell find love, again, for the 3rd time. Can she actually be successful this time around? When she meets Marron she thinks this may be it is she can just get Seth and Marron on board. This was a cute story with a very different kind of Cupid.

This is book 1 of Jade. An age gap romance of 2 people that were never meant to be together. Nasser was broken and lost and only Jade seemed to be able to pull him back to the land of the living. Jade was broken in her own ways. Together they find what they each need even though everyone tries to keep them apart. It was a good story with a compelling story. This story will continue in book 2.
This book is the first part of The Savage Duet and just wow what a way to open up this duet. Kingston wanted Ava so he took her to pay off her brother’s debt. This book is dark and steamy. The intensity and tension is so high as secrets are revealed. I can’t wait to read the 2 book!

“Whispered Surrender: A Dark Mafia Romance” by Via Mari intricately weaves Alessandro and Gemma’s tumultuous relationship in a dangerous mafia world. Alessandro, a brooding mafia boss seeking redemption, entangles with Gemma, a woman yearning for freedom. Mari’s vivid storytelling vividly paints the dangerous underworld, their passionate yet perilous romance, and the complexities of love, sacrifice, and redemption. With multifaceted characters and palpable tension, this book immerses readers in a suspenseful tale. However, note the mature themes. In under 100 words, Mari delivers a gripping narrative, blending danger, desire, and the haunting possibility of love’s redemption amidst a world of darkness.
