Great novella. Dr D is a walking dream every woman wants him, but he only ever has them for 1 night and his main rule is no work colleagues until Emily the new orderly comes along can she stay for more than one night??? He hates the rumors about him in the hospital and keeps himself to himself. This book is hot you will not be disappointed

Doctor D’s Orderly Affair is a short (very quick read) about a doctor with a bad boy, one-night stand reputation and an orderly, named Emily’s romantic endeavor. I want to be able to give you a summary of this book, but I am left a little perplexed on how to write it without spoilers or confusing people. When I first chose to read this book between the summary and the front cover I was really looking forward and intrigued. I have to say I was pretty disappointed and thought if written a little more concisely and with more detail, it could have been an amazing book. As I read others’ reviews of this, maybe I missed something, but I felt the read left a lot to be desired.
At the beginning as we were learning about the characters I was truly enjoying the story, there was youth, fantasy, but also some tragedy. I really enjoyed the innocence of Emily and the tender side of Dr. D. However, the two story lines that are present, a possible mysterious sex encounter and also the doctor’s dying nephew, confused me. The confusion mainly came at the end where I think certain things felt left out – the whole journey really. Did he mend things with family, how Emily handled not seeing him for years, etc. I feel those were important chapters (that could have been done shortly), because when I got to the last chapter I was confused thinking I missed a chapter and went back to check. Nope, the author decided to just some it up quickly with little explanation in the final chapter.
In addition, thinking that this was a steamy, sex story was also a little disappointing. My fantasy may be more extreme than others, but I felt there was not enough detail in the sex scene (only being one sex scene). After the vibrator scene I was really looking forward to the real sex scene and just felt not enough visualization could come from the description. I am not saying that I won’t read something from this author in the future, but this book was a little bit of a let down for me.

Dr. Desmond Danielson works as a pediatrician in a hospital. The rumor mill is fast at work painting him as a one night then move on type. Emily is an orderly in the same hospital. She has heard all about Dr. D’s reputation. After an encounter outside of the hospital she has diner with him. Will she be just another one night or could this be the beginning of something?
I enjoyed this quick and easy read. The Characters work well together and there is some depth to the story. However, if you are looking for a quick hot and heavy this isn’t the book for you. That being said I enjoyed the story and would recommend giving it a read.

This short novella was a hot steamy read. This is my first read from this author, and I quite enjoyed the book. I loved the chemistry between Dr. D & Emily, it kind of had me wanting more. I personally would have liked more spicey scenes, but to each there own. The ending was a little rushed for me, but all in all I really like the book.

King – Review by Crystal Jimenez
Stars 3.5 Dr D is a guy who has had his fair share of bad luck in the world of dating especially a co-worker, so his rules are simple, no work colleagues and one night only, everyone knows within the hospital and his reputation is of urban myths territory, but he only wants to do his job. So, when he runs into an orderly that seems to pique his interest, will it become messy?
Emily is going about her job, new to the hospital and has heard the gossip about Dr D, although her colleagues are discussing this man every five minutes, she is under the impression that this man is urban myth too good to be true, that is until she meets him in the flesh and starts to have feelings for him. Although she knows he is a one night only deal can she keep her feelings in check, you will have to read to find out.
This is a novella with a great pace and fits a lot into such a short story, but I have to say there may be a little too much to be able to concentrate on the story and the characters. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the whole flow of the story, I just think having two main storylines within a novella just did not work for me. I think the author should have just stuck to the one and then the overall book in my opinion would have read easier.
That said I did thoroughly enjoy the writing and the style of the story, and the secondary characters added depth to the book. I was at the end dying to know what happened to this relationship and hoping there is more to the story than written. All in all, I can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author.

Although a rather short read, Doctor D’s Orderly Affair by C.A. King certainly hit the spot! This quick, easy read was full of fun, wit, and humor. C. A. King simultaneously creates a wonderful story and setting in Eastport General, but realistic, relatable characters. The gossip mill at Eastport General runs rampant, much to the chagrin of Dr. Desmond Danielson, who wishes to forget events of his past. His chance encounter with Emily leads them both down a rabbit hole neither one is prepared for. Their story is endearing and charming, with a little bit of spice. I am looking forward to more books from C. A. King!

Quick read! Took me less than a day to devour this book! So much fun! Comedy, Romance, and Steaminess all rolled into one excellent book! I really enjoyed getting to know Emily and following her journey with Dr. D. Dr. D has a “reputation” at the hospital for one-night stands. This book caught my attention and kept it throughout. I can’t wait to read this authors’ other books if they’re anything like this. Check it out you won’t be disappointed!

This is a short read giving you an inside view of the hospital gossip surrounding Dr D and his life. Even though her is known for one night stands, he takes an interest in Emily after a brief run in at a bar. Sometimes life isn’t fair and plans go astray and a relationship ends as quickly as it begins. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the other books in this series

While the story has a great plot line, it wasn’t as nearly developed as it could have been. Everything felt rushed. I also wish there were more *spicy* scenes. The 2 that were in there were decent, but they could have been developed better. I also feel like the author put emphasis on unnecessary details. I feel like random, inconsequential details or places where described too in-depth and other scenes should have been more descriptive. I really enjoyed the premise of the characters of Emily and Dr. Desmond Danielson; however, the development of them is seriously lacking in this story. I liked Emily; however, I feel like the author did her a disservice. There were times when she was a strong, independent woman and then there were times when she was so wishy-washy and portrayed as a stereotypical woman that I wondered if the author had written two different characters. I feel like the author could have done a better job of developing the characters. The start was there, but she just didn’t finish it. Overall, I feel like there is a lot to be left desired by this book. It was a quick read; however, I was frustrated most of the time because I felt rushed.

Doctor D’s Orderly Affair is a short read about a doctor with a bad boy, one-night stand reputation and an orderly, named Emily’s romantic endeavor. It’s such a cute and great story. They’re both pretty amazing and similar yet different in many ways and it works. I love how the story had romance but also played out the hospital part too, it was well balanced and well written. It is the first book I’ve read from the world of Doctors of Eastport General, but I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series.

This was a rather refreshing love story that focused more on the characters and their lives than just moments of romance with tidbits about things going on in their lives. I loved how easy it was to imagine the story, and the flow, even though it was told from two point of views, was perfect. Though it was pretty short, I feel like the lives of Emily and Dr. D were showcased well, and not a second thought as I’ve seen with other stories of a similar length. It was adorable, really, to read some of the chapters and thoughts from both sides. I think I may have laughed out loud a few times, definitely was caught grinning like a madwoman at my screen more times than I can count. Reading this short story has made me curious about the rest of the books written by this author and I will be checking them out.

I have read quite a few of this authors books and I have enjoyed them but this book WOW it got me. This is a fast-paced romance with great characters and an awesome plot. This is the first book in this series and with each new book we meet different authors.
Dr D is a pediatrician and has quite the reputation around the hospital. There are rumors running around like rampant and Dr. D hates these rumors so he does not have relationships with co-workers because such rumors.
Then Dr. D meets Emily and everything changes. Emily has heard the rumors about the doctor but she doesn’t believe them after all rumors are that rumors. So, what happens after a hectic day and a nice dinner?
Will Emily find out if the rumors are true? Will this be one night or will one of them want more? Can they overcome odd and be together?
You need to read the book to find out what happens…..

As someone working in the medical field I jumped on this book because I knew it would have characters that I would enjoy and could somewhat understand and relate to and I was not wrong about that! Plus with its short length it was easy to read in one sitting. And of course, some steamy romance involving a doctor, YES PLEASE! I really enjoyed the connection between Emily and Dr Desmond and I cannot wait to read more of this series!

Emily is an orderly that is going through nursing school to do what she loves, helping people. The hospital she works at she has always heard the rumors of Dr D being a master at the one night stand. She finally meets the infamous Dr D at a club after becoming so drunk that she falls off her stool and he is the one to save her. They end up meeting for coffee and that doesn’t go well so he ends up taking her to dinner and well the night ends like she hoped. But he leaves in the middle of the night making her feel it was only part of his reputation but that’s not at all what it was. Can they truly become an item or was it all just a one night stand?

I found Emily’s and Dr. Desmond Danielson’s stories very intriguing. I couldn’t put the book down. This story took a leap towards the end, but I think it would have made more sense had I read the previous books. I plan on doing that next! If you are looking for a clean romance book this was a great read.
Dr. Desmond Danielson gets a naughty reputation as a one-night stand kind of man and the gossip is non-stop about Dr. D at the hospital where he works. Emily works as an orderly at the same hospital while attending school for nursing. The chapters skip between the two perspectives, and we get to know and like the characters well, even though they don’t spend a lot of time interacting with each other. While the setting is at a hospital, there isn’t any medical terminology, just lots of gossip and some coffee jargon. I would have enjoyed reading more, especially some more interaction between Dr. D and Emily, but this was a quick read with a happily ever after.

This book was a quick read but I couldn’t put it down!
Dr. Desmond Danielson, or Dr. D as he is often referred to, definitely has a reputation and it’s only good for one night. He knows what people call him and he catches the glances he gets at the hospital and he’s not totally comfortable with any of it. That is until he sees Emily and she doesn’t spare him a second glance. He is instantly intrigued. Emily has heard about Dr. D but doesn’t put too much thought into the hype. She’s not sure it’s all that it’s cracked up to be. When Desmond shows interest in her, she’s surprised to say the least. Not so surprisingly, once she gives in, Desmond disappears. To say Emily is disappointed is an understatement but she knew what she was getting into. Will that be the end for them?
I enjoyed this book! It was a good read and I really liked Emily’s character. She’s strong and independent and that always makes for a great character. I’m glad I picked this one up!

I enjoyed this book. There were some laugh outnloud moments that I still chuckle about when I think about them and not a lot of angsty drama which fit with these characters and made me like it that much more.
Emily is way too serious for such a young woman but also reminded me if my daughter who is also Emily. Very focused on school and achieving goals. It must be the name.
Desmond was really put in a tough spot with his family and that made me mad. That was so not fair of any of them to be that way.

At 124 pages, I was able to devour this novella in one sitting. I had read work by this author before and knew I’d be in for an enjoyable read. This is the first book in a new series and if this first book is anything to go by, then it’s a series I’m going to really enjoy. Although a novella, the author manages to pack quite a bit of content into this entertaining read. It also has scenes that will seriously tug at the heartstrings. Set in a hospital in recent times, this book also tackles the subject of the present pandemic affecting the world. In addition to that, I loved the two main characters. Dr D himself, Des has been burned by having a fling with a colleague before and has sworn off having a workplace romance but that’s before he meets orderly Emily. That would be Emily who has named her new vibrator Dr D! This leads to some very funny scenes. I really enjoyed reading about the shenanigans of those working at Eastport General and look forward to seeing what the author has in store for them next.

4 out of 5 Stars
This short romance is a delightful romp about the relationship between Emily and Desmond. Emily is a dedicated student working her way through school. She has never really had time for relationships. Desmond has the reputation for lots of quick romances in the hospital. When they have a chance encounter that leads to sparks, Emily decides that she wants the Dr. D everyone talks about.
There is so much heart written into these characters. They are like a family. This was a great quick read!!

This is a book that follows medical staff of EastPort General. I was entranced and read this book in one sitting. The characters in this novel, Dr. D and Emily, were wonderfully written and amazingly relatable. Emily has heard the rumors of Dr. D and that he rocks women’s world for one night and never shows anymore interest. All of this changes one night when Emily throws up on him. Their story from then on changes and grows. I am absolutely in love with this novel and cannot wait to read the other novels in the series!! If you love reading romance novels that encompass the medical staff this is the story for you!

Doctor D’s Orderly Affair is part of the Doctors of Eastport General Series. This is a Hot and Steamy Contemporary Romance that I read in one sitting. I loved everything about this book, the storyline flowed , the characters are amazing and just the right amount of sizzle. My only complaint is I wish it was longer because I want more. I love this author I’ve read several books by her and each book is my favorite. This is a fast paced short story about Emily is an Orderly working her way through school to get a nursing degree. She’s a very smart woman and the patients love her. Doctor D is said to be a great Pediatrician and also he’s known to be a player. One night out for Emily and sparks are flying. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author and to check out more books from this series by various other authors.

King – Review by Dawn Daughenbaugh
This is a super-hot novel that is 104 pages in length. Dr. Danielson is about as hot as they get. He is everything a woman would want. Emily is an ER nurse and loves kids. Dr. D is a pediatrician – and although the kids love him, so does everyone else. Emily knows of Dr. D and his reputation, but will she be able to have the will power to not get involved? This book has it all – hot, steamy, funny, and one you will want to read again and again.

King – Review by Heidi Schoolman
This is the first book in the new Doctors of Eastport General series, I love the idea of this series as a collaboration of authors is writing their own book for the series. I will be able to taste more authors and get different viewpoints about Eastport General. This is a contemporary romance, with lots of steam. Emily is a nurse finishing up school that works at the same hospital as Dr. D. Rumors run rampant about the sexy doctor and his one-night stands. Can Emily let down her guard and can Dr. D fall in love? Easy, funny, loving read. Can’t wait to read more books in this series.
