Four Stars

Edge of the Storm is the second book in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen. This series should be read in order to understand the plot. These books are short but filled with action and adventure. I love the strong female characters and the action as they fulfill their mission. This book is Sloane’s First mission as Blackbird. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down till I read the last page. I can’t wait to get the next book to see what happens next. If you like books about terrorists and the agents that try to stop them, this is the series for you.

Edge of The Storm ( Silent Secrets Series #2 ) by Lisette Kristensen was a quick, action packed read.
I haven’t read this author before so I’m not sure what genre they normally write.

This book might be a rough read for some who have issues with terrorism but if you can see past that, your going to love the book. Halo is a spy in Rome and is taken by a group of terrorists planning to destroy the Vatican and she is taken right in front of the others. Will Blackbird be able to come through and save her mentor?

The book was short since it was a Novella but was very fast paced and full of action. The way the book ended, this is not over!

By: Lisette Kristensen
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Edge of the Storm (Silent Secrets Book 2) by Lisette Kristensen was an action packed thrill ride that had me gripped from start to finish. This was a taste of what I believe is going to be an awesome series.

Right out of the gate we’re shown what these agents can do. Deadly, there’s no other word needed to describe these ladies, deadly covers it all. Blackbird, is firece, I don’t think I would have held up like she did. I want to read more about this character. She doesn’t have much back story, but that added to her mystic, so reading the first book is a must, if you want to know more about this fierce deadly character.

This is a short read coming in at at about75 pages, making an already quick read, mixed in with the fast moving plot and action, over in a blink. I was left wanting more! The ending is a bit open, so I’m hoping that means there’s going to be more to this world. Going back to the plot, it was pretty solid, there were a few shaky spots, but I believe that has to do with the short length. A bit more time on the key plot twist would have made the story that much more epic. I believe this short read would make a thrilling exciting full length novel.

I highly recommend you pick up this fast pace, action packed, thriller. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will keep you on edge, keep that blood up and, make you second guest any new character that seem to be… unimportant.

Happy reading.

Oh how I loved this book!! This story was full of action and suspense. I love Blackbird and Halo’s characters, they are strong women that can kick some butt. You should definitely read the first book so you know how we got to where we are in this book. The author does an amazing job bringing you into this story and keeping me on the edge of my seat, turning pages to find out what happens next. I can’t say enough good things about this story and author so far as I get into this series. This is a must read and I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen in the next book. I give Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen, 4 stars.

This is the story of Blackbird, a rookie trainee in the Mossad. She left a life that was completely different from this, knowing most women do not make to the end of training. But she is determined. She’s tired of the lies and deceit from her past life.

After finally making it through, her first assignment is with a fellow agent she respects, Halo. When things go terrible wrong a Halo is taken right in front of her, Blackbird knows she needs to be part of the operation to rescue Halo. She will not fail her partner.

This is a very short story filled with a lot of action with a bit of romance thrown in. The action starts pretty quickly and does not stop until the end. A story of the good guys trying to taking down the bad guys and what has to be done in order to succeed. It also showcases not one, but two very strong female characters in both Blackbird and Halo. I highly recommend this book.

Edge of the Storm is the second book in Lisette Kristensen’s Silent Secrets series and you absolutely should not read it as a standalone! Start from the beginning or you will be completely lost! The first book will give you all the backstory you need to understand who Sloan aka Blackbird is and who her boss Halo is!
It is a short suspense read that once again reminds us that the betrayal never comes from the enemy. I love our intelligent and strong a** woman Sloan who cannot be stopped when she is determined to find her boss/partner who goes missing when a routine mission goes FUBR! The story keeps us at the edge of our seat and at times it felt as if the writer is telling the story of the world around us today … I cannot wait to see what she has in store for Sloan next!

Edge of the Storm is the second book in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen. Lisette Kristensen is a great storyteller. This book brings Halo to Rome to meet and train Blackbird. There is a terrorist attack and Blackbird needs to step things up when Halo is taken prisoner and leaves Blackbird, who is training to get Halo back. There are twists and turns for both Halo and Blackbird. Will Blackbird step up to the challenge or will Blackbird fail? This is one story you will want to read.

Edge of the Storm by Lisette Kristensen a fast-paced thriller of a four-star read. It was so fast paced you will read this in one sitting and your heart will need to rest afterwards as it will be racing. This was such a refreshing read, it has such strong female characters that you don’t see often in the circumstances of this story. The depth the author managed to get out of the characters in such a short number of pages was amazing. I will say the only downside to this book was the subject matter Terrorism is such a touchy subject right now and one I would have rather avoided but to be honest I’m glad I did as the characters overwhelmed any negative effects from the subject.

Edge of the Storm is the second book in the Silent series by Lisette Kristensen. This authors writing skills were creative and i was drawn in by the attention to details. The characters were very like-able and Sloane aka Blackbird is wicked and i kinda have a little but of a girl crush. There really is no other way of describing her that would do her justice. She is awesome. There were so many twists and turns in this book i was kept on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding, wondering what was gonna happen next. Terrorist threats and nonstop action kept this book on my toes. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and i would recommend this to a friend!

Edge Of The Storm is the second installment in those series and cannot be read as a standalone. There is a lot of back story in the first novel that leads up to the action in this novel. Sloan aka Blackbird must rescue her mentor Halo who has been taken. Halo is being used as a bomb and Blackbird and her team must diffuse the situation and disable the bomb. This short novel has a ton of action and is easy to read. I loved the characters and but of romance that occurs. I look forward to more in this series .

This is the first book I have read by Lisette Kristensen but it will not be my last. The action and adventure that follows Halo really is what makes this book. I wasn’t completely sold on the character at first but as I became more and more involved in the high stakes terrorist fight that unfolds I was quickly swallowed in whole. I would be interested in seeing what else there is to find out about the characters in the first book this time around however. Combined with reading out of order and the short brief and rushed feeling I got with the size of the novel is my only reason really for marking it four instead of five stars. I am definitely looking forward to book three as well.

I will say that I wasn’t 100% sure about reading this book but I am so glad that I gave it a go. The author did a great job and I felt like I was right there along with the characters. For a short story it is certainly full of action from the very start. I would absolutely love to read more about these characters. I loved that the main characters were women, I admired their strength, courage and the fact that they wouldn’t give up until they got what they wanted. This is the second story in the series. It is a short story in pages but not in thrills for sure. I will freely admit that this is not my go to genre to read but it was definitely entertaining. I feel that the problem with stories this short is that you can’t really get to know the characters so you don’t form a bond but since this has some recurring people in it, I was able to build on what I already knew of this crazy daring woman. If you have some time to waste and want a nonstop action short story, then this is definitely for you.

It and the story completely enthralled me. The characters are smart, fit and have zero tolerance for fun. It’s all business all the time…well except that one brief moment. In a side note I have to say…400 pushups? Dayum! That is impressive! I can only imagine the shape she is in. Well done to the author and I look forward to reading more about this character.

Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets)Edge of the Storm: Book 2 by Lisette Kristensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“The sad thing about betrayal, it never comes from the enemy.”

Francesca, or “Sonic” has been training for the time when she will have be in the field as a Katsa for the Mossad. After escaping her past and being given a chance by May, or “Jet”. It is now on her shoulders to figure out how to put the skills to the test. Much sooner than she was expecting she is thrust into a situation where she is the one that needs to save Jet this time.

“Jet was the best Mossad had in the field. But her gaze made her feel like I missed something. She never relaxed around Jet, it felt like she was being tested constantly.”

“That is all Francesca needed to hear “head out”. To be a spy, find the bad men and do some good.”

Will Sonic be able to save Jet before she becomes the next victim of Jihadists? Or will her life, and thousands of others, be ended before she even gets a chance to try?

“No guarantees, follow orders and mission first.”

“The only visions filling her mind was the slow-motion replay of Jet getting ambushed.”

I found this novella to be almost too short. It made me feel like I was missing a lot of back story, or like I was missing something in general. I felt like if it was just a bit less rushed and had some more background info on Francesca and Jet, I would have been able to focus on the book more than I could. This is the only reason I marked this as a four-star read. Otherwise, the story had a great concept, and action-packed drama. This is the first book I have read by J.E. Vassar and will definitely be looking into more of her work, the longer ones anyway.

Edge of the Storm was a great 5 star read and book two in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen.

She hit like a hammer, and was deadly like a rifle.

I love Blackbird (Sloane), she is an extremely strong character and knows how to take care of things. We continue with her story and as she finishes her training she is paired up with Halo.

We get a little glimpse at Adam, who Sloane has developed a little crush on during her training. But fraternization is forbidden.

Blackbird and Halo end up in Rome, when something goes wrong and Halo goes missing Blackbird is part of the search team. We get a lot of non stop action and edge of your seat moments. Can Blackbird and her team find Halo before it’s too late? Can they stop the terrorists plans?

The sad thing about betrayal, it never comes from the enemy.

Overall this was a thrilling read. This cannot be read as a stand alone or you will be completely lost. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. Once I got started I couldn’t stop until I was done, and I’m impatiently waiting for the next book in the series. Thank you Lisette for another great read.

For the most part I really enjoyed Sloane’s journey into becoming Blackbird. I’m a little tired out on the destroying something at the Vatican story line but there isn’t really much else that old and precious to as many people so I get the intrigue. I’ve always liked more detail in training aspects of spies, secret agents, mercenaries, ect. so I would have enjoyed a little more of how she and Halo get to a point in their lives and careers that they are able to get back up form everything they endure. That being said, this book as well as the previous novel and novella are non stop and will have you tearing through to get to the next page. Can’t wait for the 3rd book

WOW!! This was written really really well. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen.

Sloane (Blackbird) was an awesome character, You MUST read the first in this series to completely understand what is going on and how Sloane got where she is in this story. The action in this book was non stop. I followed it easily and although it was hard reading about terrorists with our world being the way it is right now, it was totally awesome watching the other side go after them. I was not completely sure about Halo at some points in this story but I ended up loving her as much as I did our Blackbird.

I absolutely must have the next in this series ASAP! Blackbird and Halo are AWESOME and I’m also very very curious whether there is any more to come for Blackbird and Adam.

Very quick read, full of content and very easy to follow. Will have book 3 as quick as I can get a hold of it and would love to read more from this author.

Edge of the Storm by Lisette Kristensen is the second book in the Silent Secreta series. This book is fast paced, intriguing and will have you hooked until the very end.
This is an author I have recently become familiar with and so far I have loved every book. This was definitely has to be my favourite though. The whole story had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. It was full of twists and turns that meant you never quite knew what the outcome was going to be. I enjoyed Halo’s character. She was strong and commanding on a way that added to the story.
I fell in love with the cover of this book. It is eye grabbing and makes me want to read the book.
My only gripe, and it is a small one, is that I wish the book were a little longer. It felt like I had finished it all too quickly.
This is a great story and one I would definitely recommend.
