Crystal Brooke just received heartbreaking news and has now found a new lease on life. She’s on an adventure to support her best friend getting married but on the search for a rendezvous, a romp in the sheets, if you will. She creates a tangled web when her new fling is someone totally unexpected. Spencer is on the prowl for the same thing Crystal is but has crushed on one of his best friends for awhile. He’s eager for Crystal to see him differently than who he has been. Will Spencer succeed in taming Crystal or will Crystal’s battle for her life run him away?
This book is heartbreaking yet fun to read. Love conquers all and this is well worth the emotional journey we take with these characters through their ride. I loved it from cover to cover.

I am just going to come out and say, I loved this novella. Sunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie is most definitely a 5 star read for me. It wasn’t quite what I anticipated at the start (whatever that even means) but I was invested by page two. It was a quick read and truly enjoyable from start to finish. This was my absolute first read by this author and I am ready to download everything by her. I loved the premise of the book when I read the synopsis and truly feel like the writing and storyline delivered. I enjoyed the characters, the flow of the story and really, like I mentioned, I loved it. Period.

I loved this story! Crystal and Spencer were great to read about. This author just knows how to grab you and take you through the story like you’re living it. This can be read as a standalone and you’ll want to have time to read this as you won’t be able to put it down once you start. Cannot wait for more from this author, going on my to watch list.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sunshine Kisses is a fast-read romance novella. While this book is part of series, it can stand-alone with the same gripping emotional ties you would expect from any romance story. Once you start, it is difficult to put down and you will find yourself saying “Just one more chapter” over and over again. I found some transitions to seem rushed, but I also found myself reading faster and thinking about how fast life really is, especially for someone with a condition such as the main character’s, which may have been the authors intent.

This story follows a short time between two people, Crystal and Spencer, who have known each other for years, but never considered the option of more… until now. However, given Crystal’s current medical situation, she would prefer to keep her distance, despite what her losses may be in the field of love. The main question you will keep asking yourself is can love overcome fear? Read this story to find out more!

Sunshine Kisses is the 2nd novella in the Kisses series by Elaine Marie. I did not read the first (Snow Kisses) but still enjoyed this one. It can be read as a stand alone, but now I want to go back to read the prior book. This book centers around Crystal and Spencer. They are long time friends, but are about to move into something more. Crystal’s best friend’s wedding is coming up, and its a destination wedding. The perfect time for a vacation fling. Crystal just found out she has some medical problems, and wants to have fun, in case she doesn’t have much time left. She didn’t expect the fling to be with one of her friends…and isn’t sure if its the best idea. While Spencer has crushed on her for years, she never saw him as anything potential, until just days before.
This book has some heated scenes, but nothing over the top dirty. It is a cute, quick read that I recommend to anyone who enjoys romance novels with a happily ever after.

Sunshine Kisses (A Kisses Novella) is by Elaine Marie and such a great short read book. I fell in love instantly and have already added more books to my TBR list for the year. This was an emotional read as the character Crystal is dealing with a medical condition but living her life to the fullest. When she decided to have a fling, she never expected it to be Spencer. Spencer has had a crush on her for years and just wants to be seen. Will these two be able to work it out? Or will Crystal let her medical condition control their situation? I found myself on that roller-coaster where you cry, laugh or aren’t really sure what you should feel. This book was written amazing and I cannot wait to read more from this author!

This is quite the emotional rollercoaster…and I think it’s because it is a real-life situation that some find themselves in.
Crystal’s best friend is getting married…and Crystal wants to have a fling while she is at the wedding. She recently got some bad news from her doctor and she is determined to life her life to the fullest for as long as she can. One of her best friends, Spencer, ends up being just the person to fill the position of boy toy. However, what happens when the truth about her health comes out? Can Spencer accept that? Can he accept the rules they have agreed on once they return to their everyday lives? You’re going to have to read to find out.
This was a quick and easy read. I found myself relating to the characters and immersing myself in their world for a bit. While it is full of feels, it is worth every one!

Sunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie is A Kisses Novella Book Two. This book is the first book I’ve read by this author but now I need to go back and read book one since this was such a good book!

Crystal has decided it is time to live her life to the fullest after some bad news she received from her doctor. She is going to enjoy her best friends wedding. Not only is she going to have fun, she wants to enjoy a fling as well. However, she never expected who it would be. Spencer has always had a thing for Crystal and there’s no time like the present to tell her that. Will Spencer be able to make her see the light or will Crystal push him away because of her condition?

This book definitely takes your emotions for a ride but you can’t help but need to know what happens! I definitely recommend this book!

Sunshine Kisses (A Kisses Novella) by Elaine Marie

Wow I kinda knew going in that this story would probably have my emotions going all over the place, but I had no idea I’d be such a wreck while reading. This is a friends to lovers / vacation fling. Crystal’s best friend is getting married and she’s going to enjoy her time because when she gets home she will have a very difficult decision to make. Crystal has a medical condition and is keeping it a secret only because she doesn’t want to ruin the wedding. Spencer on the hot guy who is also her friend. He kinda has a secret as well, these two are hot together and the chemistry is off the charts. She lays out the rules of this vacation fling but will he follow them? What will happen when the vacation is over? What will happen once they get home? I really loved this story and can’t recommend it enough. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Where has Elaine Marie been? I have definitely missed some goodies here as this is my first but definitely not my last read by Elaine Marie. She has a writing style that reminds me of an author I adored as a young teen and I have missed that sort of heart string pulling writing in my life. Sunshine Kisses will make you feel all the feels and give you plenty of moments to smile as well to balance the devastating story line that runs at the center of the novella. Now it is a novella so you will want to give yourself a few hours to dive in and devour this gem uninterrupted. I know that I did and I was so glad to not have had to be torn away one moment from the story of Crystal and Spencer.

Crystal has a life altering and well eventually ending illness that has made her look at life completely differently, as it would obviously do. When the latest news from her doctor is not positive she decides that the upcoming destination wedding of one of her friends is the perfect place to live life with no rules and some abandon. She wants a fling, and only a fling too, but never expected that fling to be with a best friend, Spencer. Can life really go back to normal like nothing ever happened when the wedding comes to an end? This book is a must read for the ones who want to feel the emotion as you read. I recommend you grab a box of tissues before you dive in! I am off to grab the first in this series!

I loved this story. Even though it was a quick read it had plenty of emotion. Crystal, who just received news from her doctor, decided she’s going to have the time of her life at her best friend’s destination wedding. Crystal is a very independent woman and she is not looking for a relationship right now because she knows she’s going to have to deal with her medical issues when she gets home. Spencer who has always been seen as the nerdy friend has had a crush on Crystal for quite some time and she’s about to find out. This book had me laughing and tearing up, and of course swooning over Spencer. I became completely invested in these two wonderful characters, there are also wonderful supporting characters in this story. The author wrote this book in such a way that it touched my heart. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book I’ve read from Elaine Marie and it won’t be the last. Sunshine Kisses was so beautifully written. It completely hooked me from the beginning and took a hold of my heart. It’s one of those book that has a whole lot of heart and relatability. Crystal receives some devastating news so when she has the chance to forget for a little while at her friend’s destination wedding she’ll do anything to live in the moment for a little while. This includes one wild weekend with her best friend Spencer but eventually reality will set back in.

The characters are so well written and you can’t help but fall in love with them. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Sunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie, I knew just by reading the blurb that I was in for an emotional read.

Before leaving for her best friend’s wedding, Crystal got two shocks, one being some very upsetting health news and then seeing her friend/neighbor Spencer in a new light. So with this news, she is going to live life to the fullest on this vacation/wedding in Florida. Is Crystal ready to take her relationship with Spencer to another level and will she tell her friends the other news?

I recommend everyone giving this author and her writing a chance. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Once again I have found a new author and also once again I have started mid series. I have to admit though that I was not let down and found myself totally emerged into this book. The author has created some great characters.

Crystal and Spencer have a quite realistic relationship and very unique. I like how the author didn’t make things so obvious and that there was a lot of twists to this romance. I found that Crystal was a very relatable character . I felt as though I was right there with her going through all the emotions and events. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This story is about lost chances and living everyday as it’s your last. Sunshine Kisses is following the character of Crystal who after hearing some news from her doctors does just that want’s to experience life in general.

Crystal makes her way to her best friends wedding where she is determined to have a holiday romance, a no strings fling but will this fling be no strings. Spenser was the nerdy kid that everyone wanted as a friend but never a boyfriend, he has always loved Crystal but will she see past the friend thing and think him move as lover material.

You will need to read the book, I loved the characters and my heart went out for these two characters. The story was well constructed and flowed really well, with the interaction between all the characters believable.

This is the first book I had read by this author I really enjoyed every word and could not put it down. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like a good romance and a fighting for the character story. I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Sunshine Kisses, not what a read. Elaine Marie is a new author for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this read! For a quick read it definitely full to the brim with an incredible storyline and characters that I loved from the moment this read began. It’s actually quite a touching book, to see the difference in Crystal from the beginning of the read to the end, how she changes her outlook toward Spencer and also the outlook she has on her life after her medical issue comes about. The relationship that she and Spencer have straight away was a great building point for them but to see it develop over the next couple of weeks into one that was real, raw and undeniable was beautiful to see, and I loved that Spencer never gave up, and kept persevering with proving to Crystal what they could really be! I loved it, it gave me all the feels you could want from a romance read! I loved this author and her writing and I am looking forward to reading more!

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful best friends to lovers romance, it had me both laughing out loud and in tears. Having received bad news from her Doctor Crystal Brooke’s decides to live her life to the full before she has to start treatment, this includes enjoying her best friends destination wedding where she is to be a bridesmaid and indulging in a holiday fling. Crystals plan of a no strings attached hot sex fling goes awry when the man she hooks up with is Spencer Larson who happens to be one of her best friends. Meanwhile Spencer is fed up of his nerdy image and has been secretly crushing on Crystal for years, he decides that at the upcoming wedding he will make his move. However Spencer is not looking for a holiday fling but a long term romance. Unbeknown to Spencer, Crystal has also been secretly in love with him too but due to her current medical condition and poor prognosis she can not see a future with him and pushes him away.
I went on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this story, I fell in love with both Crystal and Spencer and just wanted them to both get their happy ever after. I felt that Crystal’s medical condition was dealt with sensitively and honesty and the emotions she went through made her very likeable and relatable as a character. Although an emotional read, I was hooked from the start and literally could not put this book down. I am new to the author, Elaine Marie, and look forward to reading other books by this author.

This was such a lovely yet emotional novella, I really enjoyed it and it was also the first book that I have read by this author so it was really nice to discover a new to me author whose work I liked. I will definitely be reading more from her in the future. I completely took Crystal into my heart from the very beginning of the story, she was determined to live her life to the fullest – her story had me laughing and crying at the same time. The dynamic between the characters was brilliant, and for a novella they were so well developed – it was just a fantastic read from beginning to end. I think I might be a little bit in love with Spencer too!

I loved this sweet story. It might be a novella but it is filled with all the *feels* that I come to expect from this author. The friendship, love and devotion. It’s incredible! Crystal has a secret but wants one last fling…just in case things don’t go her way. Spenser…I LOVEd you! You are so thoughtful and devoted. I loved how you are a nerd. You see what you wanted and kept at it. Your devotion is amazing! Plus your little nickname for her is so sweet!

On a side note I enjoyed seeing Whynter and Dominic again. They add a lot here since they are besties with these two characters.

Overall I highly recommend this story. It’s full of feels. The characters draw you into the story with their plight. You can’t help but hope for the best for them. The title is perfect for this story as well as that amazing cover. Perfect! I enjoy reading this author.

Sunshine Kisses is the second novella in Elaine Marie’s Kisses series. This is my first read by this writer and I love novellas as they give you an opportunity to get to know new writers and get a glimpse into a new ‘universe’. Sunshine Kisses was a very emotional read as it deals with a medical condition. We meet Crystal who has decided to live her life fullest when facing her medical condition and she has decided to have a hot fling instead of moping and crying at home. Her boy toy is Spencer, the heart throb nerd, who decides that now is the time to act on his crush that he has had for years … add to this a destination wedding and sun and drinks and getting the story from both Crystal and Spencer’s point of view, you really realise how important some moments are in one’s life and they need to be cherished. Thank you Elaine Marie for giving us a wonderful story of love overcoming anything!

Sunshine Kisses (A Kisses Novella) is by Elaine Marie. I am a little upset that I hadn’t discovered Elaine Marie before now, because I have been missing out on some wonderful stories- as this is my first read by her.
I discovered here that Elaine Marie has a warm and inviting style to her writing- she tells a captivating story full of emotion, relatability, and meaningful moments. Her characters are fully developed individuals- who really brought this story to ‘life’.
This is a vacation fling/friends to lovers romance, full of emotional moments, drama, angst, friendship, love, and medical crises. The story had my emotions all over the place- laughing in places, while welling up with tears in other scenes. While it did take me a little while to warm to Crystal, Elaine Marie soon won me over and had me rooting for her the rest of the way through. I really felt for what she was going through and having to deal with- then add Spencer into the mix and I was hooked.
When Crystal receives some dire news from her doctor, she decides to make the most of her friend’s destination wedding- by enjoying herself and making memories to remember. Part of her plan includes letting her hair down and having a wild, unforgettable fling. What she doesn’t expect is that her ‘fling’ will end up being with her long-time best friend, Spencer. But what happens when their vacation is over, and they head back to ‘reality’? What happens when everything is revealed? What will Spencer do? Will love overcome in the end? This is certainly worth the read to find out!
A wonderful story about how love can overcome anything!
Looking forward to more from Elaine Mare, that’s for sure!

Thank you, Elaine Marie!

I was hooked by Crystal’s personality at the start of the novel and the juicy scene of her walking in on her guy friend working out. Nerdy Spencer ended up being a heart throb. I discovered a new author and she is amazing. I started reading this book and I wasn’t sure about Crystal, she seemed a bit shallow. All she cared about was having a fling while on vacation. For her this was very important due to extenuating circumstances. Elaine Marie has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. She drew me in and played with my emotions. Several times I found myself shedding tears over Crystal’s situation. This is an enchanting story and shows how far someone will go for the one that they love. Love has no limits. Sunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie is the second book in the Kisses Novella series. This book can be read as a stand-alone and is a great friends to lovers story.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. The characters were interesting and easy to engage with. I really felt like I got to know them while reading this book.
The author has a really nice writing style too. Her words have a great pace about them, pushing the book where it is needed, pulling it back when it would help the story. It was easy to lose yourself in this story for a few hours.
This was a really enjoyable book and I am definitely keen to read the rest of them.
