Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Emily McCoy

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite, #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite series and authors so I expected nothing but the best and she absolutely delivered! I loved Emiliana and Stefano, they have moved to my favorite characters of the series. Each book is a standalone about different people but is worth reading from the first book! It was an emotional rollercoaster I did not want to get off of. All in all I will always recommend these to anyone who loves a good Mafia Romance!

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Emily McCoy

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So sweet and perfect for this time of year!
Amber is not a fan of the holiday season, she lets her workers do the bare minimum in her bar as far as decorations and her house is the only one on the block without any as well. She doesn’t care for it and is ready to end the year with a big bash to celebrate at her bar. Gio on the other hand is excited to take over his Nonna’s business so she can retire. He soon finds himself wanting to get to know more about this spit fire of a bar owner and why she doesn’t like Christmas. Will Amber let her guard down to Gio and share her secret? Can she put it all aside and start over with this beautiful family that came crashing into her life?
I fell in love with this little town so much. Cold creek just sounds beautiful and I would most certainly be on my way there if I could! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a sweet and steamy Christmas story full of romance, cute family moments and overcoming your past for a better future!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Emily McCoy

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Five stars! The author definitely knew what they were doing when they wrote Caspian! He is on track to become CEO but his uncle decided for him to do just that he needs to get married and stay married for one year or he will lose the company before he gets a chance to run it. Paisley is an old childhood friend and seriously down on her luck, especially with her mom in a coma and money running out. She decides she can’t turn down a good offer that could help them both out.
This book starts out a little slow but it picks up quick and I promise you won’t be able to stop. This story has a lot of good character development for both Caspian and Paisley. Conveniently Yours is book one in the Titans of Manhattan series! I’m ready to dive into the next book and see what this author has in store for us!

Broken Chains by Karina Kantas – Review by Emily McCoy

Broken ChainsBroken Chains by Karina Kantas

I’d like to start out by saying this isn’t for everyone, there are some very graphic scenes that can be hard to read.
I personally loved this book. I really do enjoy it when a character who has been brought down to the bottom, has to rise up regardless of the situation and that’s exactly what Liz does. She overcomes every obstacle that’s thrown at her! This book was thrilling, the plot was so good and the twists were epic. Overall it was a fast pace, action packed adventure that I know you won’t be able to put down! I definitely give it 5 stars.

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C. L. Schneider – Review by Emily McCoy

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you like shifters, mystery’s and good books that will have you hooked from the beginning, then this is the book for you. Dalia Nite is a shifter who has to leave her world behind due to being wanted for execution. She goes to the human world for her own safety and helps keep them safe from things that are lurking in the shadows so to speak. When a string of mystery murders come up she has to solve them and fast. Can she do it before more people die? I love her character the absolute best, I know she’s the main character and I’m supposed to but I really did just absolutely love her. She’s so strong, she’s fierce, and I loved that she met every problem head on! I would highly recommend this book.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Emily McCoy

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath is book two by Amy McKinley in the Mafia Elite series. I absolutely loved the first book and the second one did not disappoint! This story follows Sofia and Enzo in an epic friends to lovers romance. I loved both of these characters so much, they fought so hard for each other during the entire story and I’m so glad they got their ending! Just like the first one this book had me on the edge of my seat. It was exciting, spicy and you could feel the emotion coming off the pages. Their willingness to sacrifice so much for each other had me wanting to sob at certain points. Amy McKinley knocked another one out of the park with this!

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) by Kay L. Moody – Review by Emily McCoy

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria, #1)The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I wholeheartedly enjoyed this book!! Oh, my goodness it was good. The action, the magic, the enemies to lovers, the ENDING!? I was having a good time until the end of the book, it threw me into a world wind of emotions. If you are on the fence about reading this, please just do it, you will not regret it. Talise is driven by the need to escape the life she has as being born in the outer ring ‘storm’ and the only way to do that is to become to very best and impress the emperor, luckily, she is able to do something few can do where she is from and that’s shape all four elements, fire, air, water, and earth. She was doing just that until her competition shows up; he’s smart, rich, incredibly handsome, and just as talented as she is. She is supposed to hate him, not have butterflies every time he’s around or enjoy a smoldering kiss with him which leaves her wanting more than she should.
I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a brilliant YA Fantasy book. The world building is always so important to me along with character personalities and a great plot, Kay L. Moody hit the mark with all of them. This is a 5-star book!

Twilight’s Curse (Twilight Realm Series Book 1) by K. M. Wray – Review by Emily McCoy

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, it’s been so long since I’ve read a good Elvish story! K.M Wray did an amazing job with this book. I don’t think I could praise it enough. The characters jumped off the pages, the world building was beautiful, magical, and vivid. Her attention to detail and ability to tie it all together really brought the story to another level. If you love strong female leads who know their way around a sword and a guy who will stop at nothing to rescue his people even if it means dodging a few daggers to get the help he needs then this is the book for you! Twilight curse is the first book in the Twilight Realm Trilogy. It has magic, adventure, character growth, meaningful lessons, and even a little romance!

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari – Review by Emily McCoy

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tenacious is the 6th book in the Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance by Via Mari! I’ll admit this is actually the first book by this author I have read and I was hooked from the get go. Allie O’Conner only holds her job and her friends close. As far men go? She is not in the business of getting her heart broken so she plays it safe until she meets Nick who she describes as a blue-eyed devil. She is instantly attracted to him. Nick is used to getting anyone he wants but Allie has walls and Nick is determined to break each one down to uncover her heart. The only thing standing in their way is the men out to tie up loose ends like Allie and her best friend Lexie.

This is a fast paced book, with romance, action, suspense and real characters growth. I really enjoyed this book and will be going back to read the others! Via Mari did a wonderful job!!

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne – Review by Emily McCoy

Born to Fight (Can't Resist You, #1)Born to Fight by Brittany Anne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you are looking for a good dystopian book, with a rebel cause and a steamy love story this is the book for you! Born to fight is the first book in the ‘Can’t resist you’ series! Rain has been living alone for two years escaping a past that is hunting her down but when she meets hunter bloody, bruised and barley breathing she knows she must do something to save him. Hunter is the leader of a resistance; the very thing Rain has always wanted to believe in but had lost all hope for. Once he awakes, he realizes what had happen he is in awe of her but knows that he is in a position that is much bigger than the sparks flying between them. They both have a past to overcome but the big question is can they??
I fell head over heels for this book, the characters were great, the growth and development they showed really comes out in this book! I think Brittany Anne did a brilliant job with this and I am so excited to see what else is to come with this series!

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Emily McCoy

Decisions and Possibilities (Notebook Mysteries #2)Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Notebook Mysteries was added to my collection of Historical Mysteries! The detail in this book really added to the suspense of the cases, not to mention the way all the cases really feed into the plot of the book as well and don’t even get me started on the recipes! Oh, my goodness I am so excited about those. It really gave me a cool way to connect with the book in a way I had not imagined! Emma is easily one of my favorite characters, I love how she handles her cases, her personality, the way she is not afraid to challenge others when it comes to a “woman’s place”. This was the first one I have gotten the chance to read but I will be checking out her book before this one to see more on these characters I have already come to love. All in all I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes the Historical mysteries YA Genre!

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles Book 1) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Emily McCoy

To be a Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles #1)To be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was captivating in all ways from just the cover, to world building, to character development. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy every piece of it immensely. Titania struggles with her own anxiety and dealing with the trauma from her past and all while trying to prove to everyone -Especially her father- that even though she may be young she can lead and will be a great Queen to her people. She sets off to help save her kingdom and becomes a real heroine. It’s a wholesome story that you won’t be able to put down and as always I’m excited to see what else Tricia Copeland has in store for us!

The Girl and the Raven (Girl and the Raven series) by Pauline Gruber – Review By Emily McCoy

The Girl and the Raven (The Girl and the Raven #1)The Girl and the Raven by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Girl and the Raven took a much better turn then I expected going into this story. I really thought this was going to be a typical YA with a love triangle as the focus and the plot would be more centered around it, but I was wrong, completely. I felt so connected to Lucy, as far as coming from a broken home and trying to find her place not to mention having to move to another town to live with her grandmother. This book also goes through the Good vs Evil in a person and the struggle that comes with it, I absolutely love that because sometimes a character can have both qualities and still be a decent person!! Jude turned out better then I expected as a father and the fact there are gargoyles in this has me reeling. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a not so typical Paranormal Romance YA Book!!! Pauline Gruber really knocked this out of the park!

Grave Digger Academy (Grave Digger Academy Series Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Emily McCoy

Grave Digger AcademyGrave Digger Academy by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this read. It was very Adventurous and the characters were a lot of fun to get to know. The one thing that really stood out to me was how it kept reiterating that your choice matters, regardless of everything else what you want matters as well. Even if she wasn’t able to get into the Academy she wanted. This is a thrilling book with a great message, it may be YA but I think it sets its self apart from most others. C. A. king did an amazing job!

Shield & ShadeShield & Shade by Misty Hayes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shield and Shade had me hooked from the beginning, I could not put it down! Misty Hayes did an incredible job, bringing this characters to life in every way. I truly fell in love with Zoey, Corinth, and Cruz. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and it had me going back over to make sure I read it right! This book was hands down one of the very best that I have read this year. I did not know this was a spin off series but I will definitely be checking into the Blood Dagger trilogy, after reading this I have no doubt in mind it won’t be amazing.

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance)Moonlit Kiss by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy McKinley has stolen my heart again with this book! She always writes with such beautiful detail it feels like
You’re right there in Italy with them. The story between Gianna and Sergio was the very definition of romance, and the way she was able to bring the past and present together was very well done! I had so much fun in this book and I’ll always be on the look out for her others!

Forbidden WolfForbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Thrilling, action packed, enemies to lovers with some spice thrown in! This book has a little bit for every type of reader! Tasha was a fierce main character, she did what she had to do to survive but also followed her heart and stayed true to who she was. Levi was an alpha in every sense of the word, he was strong, commanding and passionate. Watching the vampires and lycans realize how much they actually needed each other to get through this war was *chefs kisses*. I can’t wait to see how this story plays out in book two! I want to see them make it to their pairs!

Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honour Novel Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance (Cambridge Men of Honour—Dark Mafia Romances 1) by Felicity Brandon – Review by Emily McCoy

ChasedChased by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had such a good time entering this world of bad boys who answer to no one. Chase is sexy, fun, and demands respect as soon as he walks through the door. Allegra is a smart girl with good intentions who really caught the attention of the worst bad boy we all love to hate. I loved watching the dynamic between Chase and Allegra, he is a downright criminal, and here she is studying law. The tension between them is so palpable I could not help but read some of their conversations and encounters repeatedly. This is the first book by Felicity Brandon that I have gotten the chance to read, and I will most certainly be coming back for more.

BRINK OF DENIAL (SONS OF SINDICATO BOOK 2) by SONYA JESUS AND CAM JOHNS – Review by Emily McCoy

Brink of Denial (Sons of Sindicato #1)Brink of Denial by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The intensity of the love that Mila and Dane have for each other is so beautifully captured in this book. They way they overcome their fears to be together and decided to just do it despite everything that happen. I was swooning! Not to mention the glimpses we got of Seth and Braelynn and even Gia! There was so much character growth in this book, I ate it up! Getting to look into the lives of this Mafia Family, how they work, love and live is so fun. I am enjoying this series so much! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance and Alpha males who only kneel to their women!

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was passionate, thrilling and had me on the edge of my seat. Braelynn Shaw is an ambitious, lawyer who works hard and plays harder! She is the very definition of Bold and Beautiful! When Seth was introduced, I knew right then this novella was going to be exciting. Seth can only be described as a hot headed, stubborn, and full of passion. I loved watching these characters protect each other with everything in them and go to the mat time and time again for their relationship, despite the challenges they are facing. This is a great start to a Mafia Romance Series; I can only guess how good the next books will be!

An Unexpected Bonding (The Unexpected Trilogy Book 1) by Lilly Rayman – Review by Emily McCoy

An Unexpected Bonding: Book One of The Unexpected TrilogyAn Unexpected Bonding: Book One of The Unexpected Trilogy by Lilly Rayman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I say it is a paranormal romance, I mean its paranormal! Shifters, Vampires, Fae, Egyptian mythology- Lilly Rayman really hit a homerun with this. I was a little lost in the beginning because she throws a lot at you so fast but once the story gets going it truly is worth finishing and to say I am exciting for the next book is a huge understatement. Livvie has my heart and soul, she was such a relatable main character and I loved how strong she was even when she was struggling with all she had to face.
