Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes is a great contemporary romance that really sucked me in. I started reading this and was instantly invested. This was easily a book I could have read in one sitting had I been able to. I loved Isaac and Isabelle and I really liked Harlow. I think I am really going to enjoy this whole series. This is my first book by Shandi but definitely won’t be my last. I loved the writing and characters and the flow of the story. It moved along quite fast and I never got bored. Great story. 5 star rating.

Enigma of Life: Isaac’s Story – Book One by Shandi Boyes is one amazing story. Shandi never lets me down when she writes a story you know you are going on a journey right along side and step for step with her amazing characters. Characters who are who are shrouded in mystery and danger. Characters that take on a life of their own. I love the fast pace of this romance story that is also a thriller and drama that also has moments that will have you laughing.
Izzy is new at her job and is on her first assignment and wants so bad to make a good impression.
Isaac is an alpha male who is possessive, mysterious and dangerous and under the FBI’s radar. But all is not what it seems.
What happens when the FBI meet the mob? What happens when roles are revealed and hearts are on the line?
Now i need the second book to see what happens and where the story goes.

This story would have easily been a five star if there had actually been a little less sex! (I can’t believe I just wrote that!) But really. Our main characters are Isaac Holt and Isabelle Brahn. And boy oh boy do they have a lot of sex together. Bathrooms, airplanes, counters, cars. Yeah a lot of sex. They also have a lot of secrets from each other. I’m not really sure how I feel about these two. There is no denying the chemistry and lust they have but do they have more than that? Can they really have a relationship in the true sense of the word?
“His mouth-watering scent invades my senses and spurns on my pursuit to offer him comfort in the only way I know how. Sexually.”
I think even Isabelle hopes there is more to them. “I know my relationship with Isaac could be construed as only being based on lust and attraction.”
I liked the feeling while I was reading that something big was going to happen. There are a few characters mentioned and situations referred to that could add up to a big explosion in the end. Did I mention the sex? There’s a lot of it. I’m worried about what happens when their work lives meet their private lives. It seems the secrets that they keep from each other may just be the ultimate downfall or that big explosion in the end. Isaac says “If you are going to be accused of something, you may as well do it.” To me this is a little foreboding and may actually be the catalyst to the explosion!
Just when I thought the “relationship” might turn into something a little more than just very hot sex, like maybe a happily ever after, real life meets work life, which equals the end of this book! GRRRR!! And BOOM! Shandi Boyes certainly had me turning the pages as fast as I could!
Definitely only for those readers over 18. Quickly moving onto book two to find out what happens with these two!

Enigma of Life – Isaac’s Story is the first book in the Enigma Series or Book 6 of Perception series. It is all about Isaac. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I just finished it and I know what my next books are (Books two, three and four), I am happy that I happened to read the first book when all the other ones had been released already, don’t know how I would have managed to survive the wait! This book sucks you in and doesn’t let you up for air until you are done with it! I have to confess, I read it in one go! I am completely in love with both Isaac and Isabelle, they both are complex characters and dig their way into your heart. When the book ends, your heart breaks and you feel the need to go and get the next book right away (I will wait until tomorrow as I have to go to bed and work tomorrow!). It is not your typical love story, there are ethical questions Isabelle struggles with, the past that both of them are impacted by and the undeniable chemistry… I so recommend the series to anyone who is looking for a story that spans multiple books, keeps you on your toes, finds you rooting for complex characters that have earned your love and admiration and has some hot sex thrown into it. You will NOT be disappointed!

Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes is Isaacs’s story and the 6th book in the Perception Series. I fall more and more in love with the characters each book and love Shandi even more as I am able to read these amazing books. This book is a part of a series and I recommend reading the WHOLE series. This has turned into one of my favorite rock and roll series and am to get completely lost in the books about some amazing and sexy bandmates. But out of all of these books, this one KNOCKED me on my BUTT and left such a mark in me. The only word I can use to describe this book is INTENSE!
Isaac, he is sexy, HOT, mysterious, and so hard to understand. He is NOT the one to being home to mom but the one all your fantasies are about and the one who will make you feel things you never have! Isabella lost her family and moved to a new town and has gotten a new job. She literally falls at his feet and is memorized by this guy. When they are thrown back into each other’s lives, Isabella is living two lives and carrying a huge secret that she hopes stay hidden. Isaac, there is something that draws you to him and he will be forever planted in your heart. Quickly you will see what I did, this is NOT your typical love story.
WOW, WOW, and even more WOW! Shandi Boyes hit this one out of the park and I cannot wait to read more on Isaac. I am completely in love with this character and want to know more and more. I have waited for his story and I am NOT disappointed in any way! He grabbed my heart and there is where he will stay. Shandi has this power to create strong stories and characters that will draw you in so much and make you able to finish a book in one sitting because you WANT and NEED to know how things end. I give this book five bright and huge stars and wish that I was able to give even more! BRAVO!!! I am hooked!
