A completely new retelling of an old tale and it was perfect! This is not the story of your youth so buckle up and get ready! Ashling (our Cinderella for this telling) has been raised on stories of monsters told to her by her now deceased father. The story really takes a new twist when Ashling decides to go to the ball put on by Prince Callum (Charming) and his husband who are in search of a mother to be for any future children they may have.

I loved the pace of this book and the characters. I will definitely be looking for more books by A.L. Morrow, she has piqued my interest.

This is an excellent retelling of a classic with a little bit of spice added in. This book has magic, an evil stepmother, danger, action, romance, some steamy moments and interesting characters. I found this story to be entertaining and original, I’m just sorry that it was such a quick read, I wanted more. I like how Ashling took charge when she realized the monsters were headed to the ball. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say that this is a must read. I am very interested to find out what the next book has in store for us.

Have to say I love reading the different ways authors convey the story of Cinderella. In this new series the author has blown me out of the water with their rendition. You will get drawn in fast and not wanting it to end as quick!
Ashling, the leading character, is done with her evil stepmother and sisters! She is done with standing on the sidelines.
This is one of my favorite retellings to date! Book 2 come out soon!

Entwined by A.L. Morrow is the first book in her series entitled Stone and Cinder. It is a retelling of the Cinderella story like none before. It follows the common tale with a number of twists and expansions beyond the original story. The characters are diverse without betraying the stereotype of wicked step mother to an unfortunate girl. There is Prince Callum with his husband and Ashling who is the Cinderella of the story. A ball is to be held by the Prince and monsters lurking in the Kingdom outside.

This book was my first read by this author and I am looking forward to the next installment of Stone and Cinder. The books contains a combination of relationships m/m, m/f, and m/m/f so joy everyone may enjoy. I however fully enjoyed the story and would recommend it.

This is an enjoyable and engaging fantasy romance, which is a retelling of the classic Cinderella fairytale. This story is definitely for more mature readers though, as it’s a very different version of the tale, involving a prince already married to a man and sexy scenes of a ménage. Ashling Glasby has grown up with tales of the dark creatures who live beyond the barrier arc that protects them. Now living with her bitter stepmother following the loss of her father, his final warning that one day the beasts would attack is coming true. Ashling turns up at Prince Callum’s ball to warn him and Callum is intrigued by the women who seems to know about the nightmarish creatures that are threatening his kingdom.
Meanwhile, Prince Callum and his husband Teague are searching for a women to join their relationship as the Prince needs an heir of his blood. As Callum and Ashling dance the Prince believes that she is the women they have been looking for, but then in true Cinderella style, midnight strikes. This is a fun fairly short easy read which had me hooked from page one. The storyline flowed well and the descriptive narrative bought both the characters and the setting to life which helped make me feel immersed in the story. I look forward to book two in the series.

Phew. If y’all thought you were getting a “normal” Cinderella retelling with Entwined- ya wrong! Because that’s what I thought I was getting and I’m so excited by what I got instead. I’m no stranger to MFM romances and this one is spicy and hot! My only complaint is I wish it was longer. I’m excited though because I know there’s more to the series! I really enjoyed the characters (Especially Ashling! What a great name!) The creatures were a great addition to the Cinderella story and I’m eager to see what else A. L. Morrow brings to this world! Check this book out- as long as you’re good with a little debauchery 😉

I really enjoy the fairy tale retellings so when I saw this book, I was really looking forward to reading it. Overall, I really enjoyed it, the author is new to me and I really liked their writing style. It was fun to read and very engaging. The whole story was multi-layered with so much detail and I would say its definitely for an adult audience due to the nature of the story. Whilst some scenes weren’t what I liked I quickly skimmed over them but I cannot fault the authors writing at all – it was beautifully written! I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this series and I highly recommend it.

Aishling Glasby is the daughter who has been left behind and who lives with her stepmother and stepsisters where she wiles away her days wishing her father would come back while also looking out for the things he taught her to see when nobody else would. Prince Callum is the only son of the King of but this brings responsibilities he and his husband would rather forget as it will impact on their future relationship as much as the kingdom that they will someday rule and it revolves around an heir.

It is just another day for Aishling catering to the whims of her step sisters as they order her around while she is trying to complete her chores, but today is not just any day, it is the day of the ball Prince Callum and his husband are throwing to celebrate their anniversary and all the women and girls from across the kingdom have been invited. As she is collecting something from the garden, she spots something by the arc barrier which shouldn’t be there, but she is soon distracted by her sisters again and thinks no more of it. Meanwhile, Prince Callum and his husband are preparing for the ball until their passion for each other wins out as usual, but once they are sated, they are ready to face the music despite how much it hurts the other.

As her family leave the house, Aishling is looking a the dress she had made wishing that she could attend too, however, she is distracted again when she looks outside and sees two creatures. They are testing the barrier and when one of the creatures passes through, she realises that the promise she swore to her father she would keep is about to become reality. Since her father left their homestead to chase the nightmare creatures which exist outside the barrier and whom drove him to madness, she has kept the belongings he created to fight them, so when she overhears them talking about attacking the palace, she knows what she must do. As Aishling makes her way there, Prince Callum is dancing with the guests and trying to comfort his husband, but when he sees Aishling he is intrigued and this continues as he speaks and dances with her, however when midnight strikes, so do the creatures.

Will Aishling and Prince Callum be able to defeat the creatures, or will they be torn apart before they can see what the future holds? This is a fairy-tale with a twist which keep you reading and engaged until the end as good fights evil to protect the lives of those around them.

Entwined: A Cinderella Retelling (Stone and Cinder Book 1) is an absolutely amazing twist to one of my favorite childhood fairy tales of Cinderella. It’s the grown up version of Cinderella for the adult women. This was a quick and fast paced read if you are not one for long romance stories. This book does contain MMF super spicy romance between Ashling and two other characters without spoiling for anyone. It is an LGBTQ+ book written by an amazing author. This is one of my first reads of hers and I love it. Defiantly a bit of a cliffhanger. If you do not like that kind of writing then this would not be the book for you. The book plot line is still based upon Cinderella’s father’s passing and being forced to stay with her horrid step mother and mean step sisters. Obviously there is still a ball from there the rest is history. Ashling is a force to be messed with and her love for Prince Charming is something that is sexy and on fire. I am anxiously awaiting book number 2 to this series to see what happens next to Ashling, Prince Charming, The husband and the realm of Fantasy and Monsters etc.

What an inventive retelling of Cinderella. Ashling is a brave young woman who can jump right in there and fight monsters with the guys. Prince Callum and his husband, Teague, think she is the perfect candidate to carry their heir. Along the way, we have monsters, evil stepmonsters (oops, stepmothers) and a ball, along with a few other items. There is a bit of steam included for the romance fans (definitely 18+). I loved the well-written characters and detail. The original story with its little bits of unpredictability were fun and quite refreshing. I’m looking forward to Book 2 coming out in March 2022.
Highly Recommend.

Entwined (Stone and Cinder Book 1) by A.L. Morrow. This book knocked me off my feet. I was expecting a sweet and tender retelling but what I got was not that at all! This book was full of secrets, debauchery, monsters and lust. Our Cinderella is Ashling and our Prince Charming is Prince Callum who are modern day prince and princess. Ashling is strong, independent and beautiful who in this retelling ends up taking care of Prince Callum. Ashling was left by her father when he wandered into the Winter Woods and was driven mad by the monsters there. She was left with her mean step mother and was left to fend for herself. When Prince Callum’s ball happens he is smitten with Ashling and he thinks she may be his Princess but will the monsters outside come into the Kingdom to destroy their happiness? Read this new telling of Cinderella to find out!

I gave this book 3 stars because it was not at all what I was expecting and not a genre I prefer, but not because of the book itself. The first chapter is a nice, easy read and then BAM. The second chapter completely caught me off guard, lol. The book is a very fast read and does parallel Cinderella very well. There are some themes that I personally choose not to read incorporated. The book is well written but I wish I was better prepared going into this book.

Author A.L Morrow took the story of Cinderella to a whole new level. A Disney classic meets the dark parts of Harry Potter so to speak. A twisted love story you will not expect. Ashling is our Cinderella and Prince Callum is the Prince on the white horse. Life is not as it seems and danger is awaiting the unexpecting Prince. Can Ashling keep the Prince safe? Will she be forever in her stepmother’s grasp? If you love Cinderella and want a more grown up version with lots of surprises, this is a must read.

My only complaint about this book is that……. it wasn’t long enough!! I can not wait to read part two!!! This is not your typical Cinderella book. This retelling is so different and fun and interesting and catching! It sucked me in!! I read it so fast that I was upset there wasn’t more for me to read right away. LOL. The Prince and his husband are searching for a woman to help bring an heir to their family and the realm. So what better way then to throw a huge ball and meet all the ladies in the kingdom right? Well let’s just say, things never goes as planned…. Enter in Ashling, who was brought up to fear the dark creatures beyond the arc, which boarder the house her stepmother, her stepsisters, and herself live in. Can she fight these beasts her father warned her about, before disappearing past the arc? Will she take her glass slippers to the ball or will the beasts tear her apart before she can even make it? Will the prince die fighting the nightmares or will he and his husband find a young lady to secure the kingdom’s future? You have to read this one!! You won’t be disappointed….. except that you will want more!! LOL 🙂

Entwined is the first book in the Stone and Cinder series by A.L. Morrow. It is a captivating Cinderella retelling, with a bit of a twist. Ms. Morrow has taken the classic fairytale and given it a bit of a sexy shake up. This original story is full of fantasy, magic, romance, agendas, high stakes, chemistry, a menage- with M/M… M/F… & M/M/F, drama, and more.
I don’t want to give too much away and spoil it for you, because if you love fairytale retellings with a sexy twist, then you are definitely going to want to read the story for yourself.
This is a short story- which made for a very quick and easy read. It is told from multiple points of view, which made it all the more interesting. Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, A.L. Morrow!

The characters were very well described and while some things in this retelling are different, but she makes sure to leave enough the same that the reader will definitely know which classic we are retelling. Her scenery descriptions are wonderful, there are a few spicy scenes so I would definitely recommend to an older Group of people, but we are well earned in advance. There are several creatures, princes, a kingdom and so much more that will have you delving into this short novella, and leave you craving more.

This is the first time I have read this author. Admittedly, I am a sucker for retelling of a fairy tale. I love to see how other authors interpret what the story could have looked like with other characters in different realms.

I did not read the description very close and was therefore a little surprised to find out that the prince has a husband. I know, shame on me for not reading it closely, but I was already drawn into the plot of the story and felt invested. I do tend to skim the explicit scenes, just because that is not what I read books for. However, I loved the tension that Ashling and the prince had. I also found it refreshing that she wasn’t swept up out of her dire circumstances, but chose to stand up for herself and take action!

All in all, a quick read that was enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing how the author continues the storyline.

What did I just read? Honestly, I picked this short retelling of Cinderella up solely based upon how lovely the cover looked. I know, I know, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but my goodness, this time it really worked out to my favor. My daughter and I had just watched the new Cinderella movie on Amazon Prime, and I was intrigued to discover yet another rendition, and couldn’t dismiss the urge to indulge in another fantasy.

I am very impressed by how well A.L. Morrow captivates their readers by drawing them in with similarities to the original story, and then expanding it into a whole new world and version of this folk tale. I loved how inclusive this was, no matter how unexpected. I especially enjoyed how Ashling turns out to be that strong, independent and courageous woman we have all come to know and love. I am very intrigued and excited to read the next installment in the Stone and Cinder series, as this short retelling leaves us wanting more, and more, and, well, babies are cute! Will certainly be not so patiently waiting for Ensnared: A Beauty and the Beast Retelling, especially given that Beauty and the Beast has been my all-time favorite forever! Well done, A.L. I really enjoyed this take on a classic tale. It is beautifully written and changed to make the story more modern. The Cinderella in this tale isn’t rushing to meet the Prince. The Prince is happily married to another man. It is a beautiful mix of a classical fairy tale and a sci-fi twist with the nightmare creatures trying to take over. It is definately a great remake of a classic.

Ashling  has the Cinderella life style. Her parents have passed away and she is left at the mercy of her step mother and step sisters, forced to become a slave in her own home. But that all changes when she spots things changing in their world. Their world which is protected from the outside by a dome. When things start entering her world from the outside she realises she needs to get help and she heads to the Palace.

Prince Callum has met and married the love of his life in Teague. The problem is the safety of his kingdom and the keeping of the protection  of the dome relys on the blood of his heir. So now Callum needs to find someone who he can care for to become the mother of his child and to save the kingdom.

In true Cinderella fashion when the clock strikes midnight things start to change and this leads Prince Callum on a hunt for Ashling.
Will he find her? Will she agree to mother his child? And what of the relationship between Prince Callum and Teague can it survive the addition of another person? And the main thing. Can they stop the nightmare creatures from taking over their peaceful little world?

All I knew going into this was that it was a fantasy romance based on the story of Cinderella that included monsters but boy was I surprised at what this story really held within its pages. This was a quick, fast paced story that I devoured really quickly! I’d definitely recommend it to an older crowd, as the first page or so of the book itself recommends, due to the sexual scenes being super spicy. The book is loosely based on Cinderella holding to her father passing away and leaving her with a horrid step mother and cruel step sisters, but also the going to the ball, and leaving a slipper behind after she flees into the night. There are added fantasy elements with the protective dome and monsters that I thought added a great new twist to the story. The characters and their relationships were developed well and modernized, original, and definitely not something you would find in your old school Cinderella story. This is a brand new refreshing take on a classic fairytale. There is no cliffhanger per say but it absolutely leaves you wanting to read more and will leave you looking forward to book two’s release. My only issue with this book honestly was the names! Callum and Ashling I didn’t have trouble with which was good due to the fact they are some of the main characters but Teague and Fionnuala and Bronagh ? I had trouble with those and every time I got to one of them it would pull me out of the story and I would have read a few paragraphs before I would be pulled back into only to stumble on one of them again. I ended up just calling Fionnuala “The Queen” for the whole book.

When she realizes the nightmare creatures have broken through the barrier, she rushes to the castle. Prince Callum is having a ball, he needs an heir. He has told his husband that they will both agree on the woman chosen.

The Prince is looking for Ashling, will he be able to find her? I will be waiting anxiously for the next book.

This amazing author did more than just a wonderful retelling of one of my personal favorite fairy tales. I found they made it even better! There was so much I loved about it in different ways, from things outside the castle, till more history of the Prince. It was beautifully written!

There was so much additions to this re telling and as I said, it made it even more wonderful! I loved how each character seemed to have their own story and how they contributed to another’s character story through out was more than fascinating! The character development and as well as learning and getting into each characters mind was a great take on it, and I really enjoyed that!

For me the biggest enjoyment was the creatures though. At the stroke of midnight all could be lost in more than one way, but could those who you hold dear pay the ultimate price? The creatures that stalked outside the castle gates made this a suspenseful take, and I was literally hooked as I read through this, and I need to read the next installment in this series as of well yesterday! I enjoyed it that much!

Again wonderfully written. It as well included many wonderful aspects to the characters and even the story line. To some may say the creatures brought the darkness to the land, perhaps it will truly be the characters that do so as the series goes on? I loved it truly. I am a big fairy tale fanatic so I took great happiness in reading this book. I defiantly am recommending reading this! It surely does not disappoint!

This is a well written story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also keep me turning pages to the end. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the start as well as kept engaged. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a story that took me on an adventure of grewlling creatures, fancy balls and what happens at midnight could change things for everyone. I really enjoyed this story and the author’s use of details to give the story the pop of romance and fairytales. This is a great story that is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book.
