The Fixer: An Enemies to Lovers Small-Town Romance (Book 2 in the Fall River Series)

Of the three brothers I think Charlie is my favorite, I think it was Noah that described him as a golden retriever and honestly that is a pretty accurate description of him. He and Joy while they are interested want nothing to do with the other and I understand it at first.

Mother/daughter relationships are challenging on the best of days. Joy and her mother don’t have a relationship and speaking from experience it sucks to not have the love and support of the one person who should be your biggest cheerleader.

The dynamic between Charlie and Joy is a very very cold to maybe tepid initially but that changes, they seem to grow on one another.

I cannot wait for Reece’s book. I’m dying to know what makes him tick. Until then I will sit and wonder.

The Keeper: An Opposites Attract Small-Town Romance (Book 1 in the Fall River Series)

I feel like Hailey and I could be soul mates especially when it comes to her giant heart when it comes to animals. Noah and Hailey’s story starts with a dog and a snow storm. After a night in his wrecked truck they are saved and I think both of them expected their lives to go back to normal. The exact opposite happened.

Noah is a good guy who made some stupid decisions when younger and he is still trying to prove himself to his Dad which is why it’s so important for the bar to be successful.

So much happens to Noah and Hailey both individually and together but they figure it out.

This was a great introduction to the people of Fall River. I absolutely adore Dixie and her eccentric ways, both of Noah’s brothers and of course the dogs. I have already started and finished Charlie’s story and now I must wait for Reece’s along with several others from this fun small town.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Joy finds herself returning to the small town she grew up when her mother passes away and she must handle matters, including run-down building that was her mother’s shop. The memories the building holds make her want to just demolish it and move on with her life back in Chicago. However, the town’s contractor does not want that to happen.

Charlie has grown up in Fall River and enjoys restoring the historic buildings around town. But, when a city girl drives into town wanting to demolish one, he puts his foot down. The two have to work together to restore the building while also fighting the attraction building between them.

But, will Joy leave and return back to her busy city life? Or can Charlie show her that they can create new memories in Fall River?

This book felt like reading a romance movie. I found myself enjoying the banter between the characters and feel the frustration (and chemistry between them). As the second book in the Fall River series, you do not need to have read the first book to understand this one (although it will give the reader insight on the family history).

Book one in the Fall River series. This reads like a Hallmark movie, but with much more depth. I LOVE these types of books and movies. Small town, boy and girl in trouble. Boy saves girl while she also saves him. There is much more to it than this though. That is a very quick summary. There’s more trouble and drama than that. So much at work to keep these two apart. It’s witty, fun and a little steamy. Perfect for a cozy read.

Book two in the Fall River series. Another Hallmark romance type story, but again, with more depth. I love the banter between these two characters. It’s what makes me fall in love with these types of stories. The witty back and forth of the snarky enemies to lovers vibe. Fast-paced city loving, small town hating woman versus small town, passionate, loveable charmer, both stubborn to a fault, who will win?!

This is the second in the series but can be read as a standalone. The story is well written and the characters relatable and able to pull you out of the real world and help forget you aren’t part of the story world.
You’ve got big city girl meets small town boy, and all the stubbornness you would expect from the pairing. There’s plenty of bickering, plenty of laughs, and lots of steaminess.
When I read a book, one of the things that I love is when I can forget I’m reading and can so clearly see the story playing out. This book 100% delivered that.
I would recommend this story and author to anyone, I really don’t think you will be disappointed.

The second book in the Fall River series, we follow younger brother Charlie Hunnicutt as he battles with the daughter of Hellene (departed owner of the crystal shop). Joy wants nothing more than to demolish the shop and see the town of Fall river and the memories of her mum and their dysfunctional relationship in the rear view mirror of her rented car. There is a lot of family stress between Joy and her sister, and Joy struggles with aspects of her coping strategies. There is again chemistry in abundance.
Another great book where the characters continue to grow, The storyline is engaging and continues to link back to the first book’s characters, although it could be read as a stand alone it is a really good continuation.
I really cannot wait to read what happens to the Hunnicutts and maybe a few more of the residents of the town.

This was an entertaining, quick read. I love a good slow-burn romance and this was that. I enjoyed the discourse of the build towards the relationship. Sometimes, fluffy romances grow dull. This was not dull in that respect. I really liked the setting of Fall River and the small town feel.

The Fixer was book two in The Fall River Series, and it was about Charlie, book one’s MMC’s brother, and Joy, who inherits an old house, and wants to find someone to tear it down. Charlie, and the Hunnicutts, care very deeply about the history and attention their town gets, so he finds himself wanting to restore the house instead. I enjoy G. K. Brady’s novels, the dynamics between the characters, and the heart that goes into all of her novels. I look forward to reading more of this series.

3.5 – 4 Stars

The Fixer is the second instalment in the new Fall River series by G.K. Brady. It is a fun enemies-to-lover contemporary romance with a small-town setting, drama, angst, chemistry, banter, humour, friendship, family, finding love unexpectedly, tension, and a bit of a city girl meets small-town boy vibe.
Joy Holiday and Charlie Hunnicutt are like oil and water- but you know what they say about opposites attracting. But with a building project to work through, these two are going to set off a whole lot of sparks rubbing each other the wrong way. What ensues makes for a fun read.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, G.K. Brady!

The Keeper is the first instalment in the new Fall River series by G.K. Brady. It is a slow burn contemporary romance with a small-town setting, boss and ex drama, angst, snow, chemistry, mystery, humour, fun, antics, friendship, family dynamics, sweet storyline, and finding love unexpectedly.
Hailey Bailey and Noah Hunnicutt start off with a bit of a flurry. Add in a lost dog, a car crash, his new struggling business, responsibility, expectation, an arrangement, a bit of boss and ex drama, and a heavy dash of emotion- and this turned out to be a sweet, heartwarming read- with just enough drama and angst to keep me invested the whole way though.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, G.K. Brady!

Chemistry was running wild. The interaction and sparks were cracking me up. These two just needed to realize that they were made for each other. I loved this story. A good handyman/restoration piece romance. Great flow with awesome FC/MC. I couldn’t get enough and read it in a day.

I found book two before I found book one, so I back tracked to read book one first and what a wonderful start to a series it was. Hailey, a health inspector, and Noah, a bar owner meet unexpectedly in the middle of a snow storm which starts their romance simmering. I enjoyed reading about how their relationship played out, the side characters, and the puppy of course. I can definitely say I’m looking forward to visiting Fall River again in book two.

The Fixer” is an entertaining novella in The Playmakers series. It’s a quick read and features an enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with wit, humor, and banter that had me laughing out loud.
Charlie is incredibly frustrated thanks to one maddening big city girl. Just the sight of her gets him going in more ways than one.
Joy just wants to leave it all behind and never look back, as it’s a reminder of a past full of heartbreaking pain. But one irritating man is making it more difficult.
Can these two find a middle ground? Will Charlie recognize her pain and help her through it, or will he walk away?
This fun, slow-burn romance is full of chemistry and sizzling tension that is palpable. Grab a copy and get lost in the ups and downs, as well as the mayhem and madness that ensues.
G.K.’s stories are fun, flirty, and sexy, making them a great way to retreat for some much needed “me” time.
