Van is back at it again! This time a whole slew of different trials are headed her way. Her love for her protector, her stepmoms weird new boyfriend, just to name a few! Van has matured a lot since the first book but she definitely has some more growing to do. She accepts her part on being the island’s protector and trying to be that person at the young age of 16. She still has some slip ups here and there that reminds you that she is still just a teenager. Paley did some growing i feel like in this book too, although she still has the sense of not belonging. All of the different creatures in this was pretty cool! This author did not disappoint in this second book!

Our favorite author is back with a third installment to their series, and it is just purely amazing. While you could read this book as a stand alone I highly recommend reading first two not only because their amazing, but also to really get a feel for our characters and the world they live in. The characters are relatable, connectable, and so fascinating that they really make the story pop. Once again the author gives us a lot of action, and intricate woven plot, but they did an amazing job giving us smooth transitions that kept the story moving perfectly. So if your looking for a great new series to read this week then pick up this book and the previous two and follow Van on her many adventurous and action packed missions.

This story proved to be high stakes and totally immersive from the very start. Kat is an MC that is easy to trust. Her intuition proves to be her best ally. The relationships between the characters was very well done, especially how they dealt with death, even if the life was lost by their hand. The attention to detail by the author was really well done. Highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get into military sci-fi. Once you start this story, your whole world is left behind and replaced by this one.

At first I really didn’t like Vanessa the main character in the story. She was your a-typical teenager who thinks she’s all that. She does have a spoiled point of view and sometimes has a few redeeming qualities. But, as the story progresses Vanessa loses her dad and she goes on a self discovery journey that makes her look within herself and changes her perspective. I enjoyed reading this as I got further along. he writing was phenomenal and I could follow along fairly easy through the flashbacks. I cant wait to see what book two brings!

Secrets, murder, and a friendship that has gone on for years. I loved these two women: Cate and Patti. I still have friends 30 years after high school, that I know I can call on at any time if I need them, even if we haven’t talked in years. And when we do talk, it feels like there was no time between conversations. I was biting my nails through some of this book, hoping and wishing for the best outcome for all.

While Van went through a lot in the first book she now has to deal with so much more including a new mission. While I would recommend reading the first book in this series the author does an amazing job of pulling in all the little tin bits from the previous book. This author is just simply amazing, not only does this book have great characters, an amazing plot, but it has so much action your put right in the middle of it in the very first chapter. This was the first installment in this series and I personally can’t wait to see what our author gives us next. This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up one of her books. One of the things I love most about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories from the beginning. They are well written and are always entertaining to read. This book is no different. This is a paranormal story that has a touch of magic and romance added in. The characters are not only connectable and strong but they had great growth throughout the story. They kept the story engaging and had me coming back for more. This is a fast paced story that I read in one sitting, it is that good. I enjoyed how the characters are creative, unique, creative and just fun over all. They really made the story for me and what they brought to the story was great. A story full of chaos and humor and what happens you don’t want to miss. I loved reading this book and I highly recommend it.

Jessica Aiken-Hall has been my go-to author for mystery, suspenseful, fiction stories. I love her writing style. She uses the English language in such a poetic story-telling fashion that will have you sitting in your chair all cozy and yet feel like you are right in the book with the characters. Her characters are fully developed and believable. It is like you make friends and enemies with the characters in the book. In this story, we find Cate and Patti who. are friends that parted ways to protect one another. They went their separate ways because of a murder. There is a secret that they both need to keep. Does the past catch up to Cate and Patti? Will they stay apart to protect each other? I highly recommend this book to see what happens and if Cate and Patti reunite with one another or if they stay apart and hope their secrets do not come out.

It’s a light read that has very intriguing aspects. The story follows Aranha who is a webmaker, or an immortal that can shift into a spider. Her collection of abilities as a webmaker are interesting and fun to read about such as her webbing and how she can collect memories. Aranha meetsthe handsome Dag who is an interesting creature himself; a vampire that can tolerate the sun. The two embark on a quest to discover what secrets lye within the vampire and werewolf system, and see how they can help or stop whatever they may be plotting. Overall, this is a nice read, that moves along quite quickly. I recommend this story for anyone that like’s low-fantasy as it takes place in the modern world, so there is not much world building needed apart from the types of species introduced and their governing system. This book also deals with growth and development as Aranha is discovering things about herself that she hadn’t known prior to meeting Dag.

First of all, I have to give a nod to the gorgeous cover for this novel, it is absolutely gorgeous. I would have been pulled in right away had I not already been a huge fan of this author already. I needed this sucker and began reading right away. I instantly fell in love with Cate and Pattie, both written so realistically that you felt as if you wanted to reach out and embrace or scold, or more really as you read the both of them. I was drawn to this book by the cover. Although spiders creep me out, Aranha is just as fierce as portrayed on the cover of this book. As the last of her kind, she lives a secluded life but that all changes when she meets Dag, a daywalking-vampire. Although sparks quickly fly between the two characters, I appreciated the realness of Aranha’s hesitation to change the life she has known.

I loved it! I was a little frustrated, I figured it out quickly but I still loved it even so! Depending on You took me back to the girls I grew up with. I’m not someone who has many girlfriends and the ones I do have, have been there through it all. That’s where I was while reading it. I might’ve reading about a potential murder that was committed by our two best friends, but I was living in the past as well. Cate and Patty have that forever friendship. The type of friendship that no matter how much time you’ve been apart, as soon as you get together it’s like you haven’t missed a beat. Now that friendship is tested, secrets can be the end all if let out the wrong way. Cate once had a passion for life, till she thought she killed someone. She became a recluse living on the edge of a mental breakdown. Patty also once had a passion for life, but instead she ran and is still running from it. How do two friends navigate a hidden murder, a dying parent, 20 years lost, all came down to one night. Prom night! Trust me when I say pick it up and read it. I’m telling you, you will get sucked right in. If I had anything negative to say, a little more mystery around the “who done it plot.” Otherwise the character development was wonderful and the novel was complete!

This Sci fi military story isn’t a genre I would normally read but I am glad I gave it a chance because I enjoyed it very much. This book is full of action, great characters, suspense and danger. The author did an exceptional job keeping me entertained and the detail was so vivid that it felt real. I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering who was the enemy, who was working for who? Kat found herself in some dangerous situations, but she didn’t let it stop her from doing her job and what she believes is right. There are many other great characters. When I got to the end I wanted more. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This story is filled with suspense, mystery, secrets and a murder. The author’s ability to bring the book alive and make the reader feel like they are in the book is incredible. I really could not put this book down! Cate and Patti have been friends for years. They have hidden a secret, but what happens when that secret may come to light? I recommend not only this book, but any other from this author as well. She is a great writer that will always keep you on your toes.

This is my first book by this author and I was truly captivated. I loved how all the elements flowed together to make it amazing. This is one of my top historical mysteries I have read in a while. I found myself trying to find out what happens next before I could read it. The author’s knowledge of the past truly shines in this book. I loved it.

I love reading and like to keep an open mind about books I pick up. This book was some of those that intrigued me when I read the synopsis. I really liked the idea of a witch who could manipulate mechanical things. The story is well written and it’s easy to imagine the world where magic can help with technology. I connected with the main character in terms of not feeling like one belongs even when she always had. I totally got the trials for the new witches, it’s something I’ve read in books before. The ending of the book saddened me to find out that those who failed the trials were killed. Seemed a bit too much but maybe there’s something I missed that will be revealed in the next book.

This was a quick read for me but very enjoyable with a unique storyline.

Corporal Katrion Alexander is a member of the 142nd Mobile Special Ops Team, also known as the Daire’s Devils and they are the ones called in to make the hard decisions and take on the hard missions and as their newest member, the Corporal is on the receiving end of the usual hazing by the rest of the team, however, when she is given an assignment which is separate from the rest of the team, she feels like she is been left behind.
While on this assignment, although she feels abandoned, she doesn’t have much time to think about it when she is thrown in at the deep end and left to sort out someone else’s mess, she is not impressed in the slightest, but she gets on with her assigned duties anyway, but the way in which she does it is not as protocol suggests and this gets her into a bit of trouble. This is only the start when she finds herself on the receiving end of some less than stellar treatment and starts to second guess everything she thought she knew, but she also uncovers some vital information at the same time, that a synthetic fighting operative has replaced a vital member of the hierarchy and she discovers this by ending up in a confrontation with one.
As she is debriefed, the plot thickens as a plot within the Allied Forces is revealed when someone tries to steal valuable information about AeroCom’s new flagship called the Cromwell and the secrets that ship holds, but nobody knows who the infiltrators are, or who they are trying to steal the information for. Meanwhile, the Devils are given a new mission to aid in the defence of a planet which is at risk of exploitation and military invasion, the planet Demeter and this particular planet is a heavily contested piece of terrain, but with the information they have, can the Daire’s Devils complete their mission, or will the infiltrators get what they want and blow the mission apart?
This is a sci-fi with action, reaction and subterfuge, where one tight knit team must unravel the plots they have been thrown into the midst of, in this fast paced race across the galaxy where nothing is as it seems and trust is hard won and even harder to keep as you fly along with the team from the beginning of the mission until you have to know how it ends.
I absolutely ADORED Divine Vintage!! This is a modern romance with a historical, paranormal twist. The main romance is a slow burn but oh what a burn! Genuine sparks fly as these two unravel mysteries and fine each other in the process. Throw in an age-old murder mystery and you are hooked! Definitely a page-turner perfect for any reader!

Divine Vintage by Sandra L. Young. This was such a fun read. Its the author’s debut novel and I can’t wait to read more. It’s the story of Tess who has opened her vintage clothing store which has always been her dream. She got more than she bargained for though because along with the clothing she begins to be overcome with visions about a murdered woman and her wedding dress. Trey is another model who starts having visons after modeling the vintage clothing. Between their visions they get wrapped up in a old murder/suicide and they try to solve it. There is also a romance between Trey and Tess so you get 2 romances and a mystery. The Victorian Era comes alive in this book and I truly felt I was there. Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down. Get yourself a copy and read Divine Vintage today!

Road Rage is a very quick read! Gem is a strong lead female through out the book, she holds her own and takes no shit from anyone but her past has caused her to be this tough woman. She wasn’t given much of a choice to be what’s she has become. You get a look into her past, the pain and trauma she has been through while watching her open up to her love of racing. I do wish the books were longer, I felt there was so much opportunity for more character development and more details to the story but it’s still good as it.

This is not the first book that I have read by this author but I do think it has to be my favourite so far. I was pulled into the story of Cate and Patti so easily, their lives so intricate and binding. The mystery that surrounded them really piqued my interest and I just had to find out what was going on. The author really takes you on a journey with the characters so it feels like you immersed in their lives. I absolutely loved this book and could not recommend it any more.

The first thing that I want to say about his book is, that although the author states that it is for 18+ in the blurb, I think it should come with a warning that it contains non-consensual sex as this could be a trigger for some. I know that MC books tend to be violent and most readers would anticipate this, I still think that a warning is required for non-consensual sex. It took me a while to get into this book. I don’t think it’s anything that the author did. I have read many MC books but about 95% of those are all by the same author and this book was very different (but not in a bad way). Once I got into the book, I was gripped by the storyline and did really enjoy the book. The author has done a great job in writing the characters. Some are very likeable and others I really did not like, but I’m sure that’s what the author had in mind. The main character, Gem, is a fascinating character and I could have read so much about her, especially her past which I think would be an explosive read. I really did enjoy this book and I’d definitely recommend it to others to read.

Read on to see what happened. This author has true skills when it comes to storytelling. Her writing is clear and easy to follow. Once I read the first chapter, I knew I was in for the long haul. This coming of age story has you traveling down memory lane, and visiting those times you had in high school. I love all of the characters in this book, and hated some too. But this story is believable and scary at the same time. ENJOY!!!

I always find dual timeline stories interesting. This was a love story and mystery entwined in one. I absolutely loved the description of the garments and the vintage aspects. While I do like paranormal, sometimes the psychic thoughts got in the way of me staying engaged. It was a good debut novel by this author.

This was such an incredible read, it’s the third book in the Anchoress series, a series that would probably be better read in order. I had not read the previous books and was able to jump in with only a few questions along the way (they were answered in due time) but I feel like I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read the first two.
This is my first book by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect but once I got started, I quickly realized that I was in for a heck of a ride. This storyline was nothing like I’ve ever read, it was so detailed, intense, deep, full of many different levels of character storylines and just so captivating.
I will absolutely be going back to read the first two books of the series!
