This contemporary romance really stole the show, full of finding love unexpectedly, taking a chance on love, emotions, secrets, and of course sizzling chemistry. While this book can be read as a stand alone if your like me you’ll find yourself wanting more. Gina has struggled to rebuild her life after being injured while serving in the army. But after putting herself out there, and being rejected what will she do when Bryce enters her life? Will Bryce be able to climb the walls that she has built around herself? Will he be able to handle her secrets? But most of all will he be able to convince her to take a chance on love? You’ll have to read this story really find out for yourself.
Starting at the beginning, the love/hate relationship that Elena and Marco have is amazing!!!!! It is one that will make your blood boil for so many reason. One of those reasons is the steam between the two. It is so steamy I felt like I lost some weight reading this book by sweating it out. The tension that surrounds them in everything they do has them constantly feelings things they think they shouldn’t be. Can Elena survive the changes that have happened in The Family since she has been gone? Will the constant barbs taken at each other come to an end if they can just admit their feelings. These are the questions that I asked myself during this book. It was so well written and I am a sucker for character development during a book and this one did not let me down. This book has everything that I have come to love in this authors books. The steam, the action, the suspense, the steam, the love, the romance, the steam, and did I mention the steam. This books makes me wish I was in the mafia. The twists and turns this series has taken so far some are answered in this book and it will make you so happy to find things out. However, you will constantly be asking yourself if these characters did in fact do what you just read. It is just that good.

This was a great second edition the the Clockwork Chronicles series! The author didn’t lose any momentum with her second book and I found the continuation of the story to be in perfect harmony with the first book! There is clearly so much thought put into this and the characters are easy to love! Glad I grabbed this one and can’t wait to see what else she comes out with!

Quite an interesting read! This may have been my first historical mixed with magic read. I really enjoyed the book and the authors perspectives. There was a perfect balance of happy, peril, mystery, and definitely had me turning the pages quickly! The plot flowed nicely and didn’t give me the start, stop, start feeling! Was grateful for the lack of cliffhanger. I was overall just impressed and intrigued with the author’s writing style and look forward to finding more from her!

An ancient prophecy foretells the diabolical plans of an exceedingly intelligent and powerful being. To ensure reality continues to unfold as desired, the ‘god’ entity will utilize the innate powers contained in the Dokkaebi-of-all-Creation to destroy various universes that make up the MultiVerse.
Celestial beings most capable of stopping these plans for destruction become trapped in an alternate reality. Can they escape this illusion before their fates are sealed forever?
Former twins from the lost continent of Atlantis will play pivotal roles in countering the threat of total annihilation for untold numbers of lives across the MultiVerse. Will they be able to help save their current home worlds and the mentors who have taught them so much?
A beautiful and enlightened queen is enlisted in the team’s quest to find an ancient artifact that could assist them in locating the Master Mage. This wizard is their only real hope for defeating the former celestial leader. Can this strange and unassuming being provide what is needed?
While the outcome cannot be fully predicted from the discovered text and images, both sides prepare for an inevitable confrontation as the ancient prophecy plays out. As ‘gods’ and mortals face off in the battle for the future of all creation, which ideals and forces will reign supreme?

Determined to clear her name, Adrijana enlists the aid of the compelling and enigmatic Dragan Vulpe, one of the royal Mesmers—magicians with the ability to read and manipulate the thoughts and emotions of those around them.
As the royal body count grows and the hostile Vruk army gathers at the border, ready to capitalize on Adrjssian instability, Adrijana homes in on the Vruk ambassadors as the most likely suspects. But when she uncovers evidence of Mesmer help, she begins to second-guess both her instincts and the loyalties of those around her. Tangled in a web of half-truths and pretty lies, it will take all of Adrijana’s cunning to unmask the true killer.
From the author of the Confectioner Chronicles comes a stand-alone young adult fantasy mystery set in a seductive new world of glittering magic, shadowed secrets, and deadly intrigue.
USA Today Bestselling author Claire Luana grew up in Seattle reading everything she could get her hands on and writing every chance she could. Eventually, adulthood won out, and she turned her writing talents to more scholarly pursuits, going to work as a commercial litigation attorney.
While continuing to practice law, Claire decided to return to her roots and try her hand once again at creative writing. She has written and published five fantasy series: the Moonburner Cycle, the Confectioner Chronicles, the Knights of Caerleon, co-written with Jesikah Sundin, and The Faerie Race trilogy, co-written with J.A. Armitage, and the Mythical Alliance.
She lives in Cle Elum, Washington with her husband and two dogs. In her (little) remaining spare time, she loves to hike, travel, binge-watch CW shows, and of course, fall into a good book.
This was a quick and easy read! I haven’t read this author before but was excited to start. This had a little bit of everything, sports mixed in, romantic suspense, sweet and steamy! So much fun. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, and other books by this author! If you’re looking for something quick and fun then this is for you!
This is my first book by this author and I loved it. Sci-Fi isn’t usually my first choice, but I am glad I read this book. I love how detailed it was. I felt like I was really inside this book. I found myself truly enjoying the writing style of this author.

I gave this book a try because I love sci-fi and anything with space. I did struggle with it because there was too much information and I feel like it took away from the story. The story was good it was just overshadowed with all the extra bits of trying to explain things.

I thought this was quite an exciting story that certainly had a lot packed into it. There were a few times I thought the pacing of the book wasn’t quite right bit I still found myself engaging with the story and the characters. I enjoyed the premise of the whole story and there were a couple of standout characters that really made it all the better. This is an enjoyable story for any fan of this genre.

I absolutely loved Gina and Bryce’s story. It was a story about find the beauty and strength within yourself. I loved being on Gina’s journey with her as she found and felt her beauty both inside and out. Both of their characters were very well written and I loved them even though at times I wanted to scream because of their actions. The relationship she had with her best friends was also amazing and I can’t wait to read more about them.
Opposites do more than attract in this steamy romance, they explode in heat! Despite her tiny size, it’s a good thing Leslie is a firefighter. Reading what she goes through makes me want to fight for women’s rights. Trevor is more than a football player, he’s a man among men. Supportive, sexy, and three times the size of Leslie. Whether he’s sacking a quarterback or dancing in ballet tights, he’s a man all women would like to spend time with. I don’t know football, but I had no problem following the plot in this sizzler.
This was a really good fast paced adventure. The author does an amazing job of describing the scenes to make the world out in space seem as realistic as possible. You feel yourself caught up in the story and guessing the motives of every character you meet. It’s a story about a special ops group called Daire’s devils. They are at the far ends of space protecting the colony from invaders. It seems a straight forward job until someone trys to get their hands on a new prototype aircraft. The problem is is the enemy someone from the outside or someone within their ranks.
It becomes a guessing game trying to unravel who is behind it all and leaves you feeling throughout that story that you can’t trust anyone even the people you think you know.

Gina what a start and a misunderstanding to boot. After this the realtionships progress and hits a few tumbles on the road. Some unexpected I didn’t think the boom would take this turn. I was impressed with Brcye character and how well develop he was and adaptable to situations. All of Gina’s friends are very good and add alot to the story Owen And Charlie made me laugh alot.
Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce. This was a steamy, hot short read. Its the story of Leslie McClunis who has always had to work twice as hard as anyone else to get where she needs to be. She is a firefighter at Firehouse 15 and of course she is outnumbered by her male coworkers. Having to prove herself day in and day out is exhausting and she really doesn’t have time for a romance. When she meets Trevor Hampton who is a football defensive end she is shook. She is used to having one night stands and never wanting anything to tie her down but Trevor is different. She can’t get enough of him and he feels the same way. She can’t believe that she is even thinking about settling down but something about Trevor makes her want to. Will she be able to continue working day in and out at her job and have a relationship? Read Wildcat to find out!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I was really intrigued by the synopsis and couldn’t wait to read more about the characters, but once I started, I found myself feeling slightly disappointed.
The storyline itself didn’t really flow, the pace of the storyline is incredibly fast and a little bit choppy as there was also diary excerpts that didn’t really seem to fit into the storyline.
The relationship between the characters developed really fast, and I wasn’t able to catch up and really feel the connection and romance between them. I am all for a confident, strong and independent woman I just had a hard time connecting with Leslie.
Though this wasn’t my favourite book I am all for second chances and will definitely try something else by this author in the future.

This is not the first book I have read by this author, so I knew what I was getting from the start. I’ve read the previous books in this series, and she didn’t disappoint me with this one either. I love that this series focuses on a group of women that have such a family bond proving that family isn’t always by blood. She does such a wonderful job describing the characters and their bond. I love how she lets the relationship form on its own while also having you biting your nails waiting for it to happen. She does such a great job telling their stories while also keeping some secrets from one another until the time is right to bring them into the story. She is a wonderful author, and this is another wonderful book by her. It’s not required that you read the entire series. You could just pick this one up and read it. However, I highly recommend them all to you.
I am totally in love with this series and it’s only Book 2! I absolutely love how McKinley is incorporating characters from the previous book. I would definitely recommend reading these books in order. You will get more of an appreciation of the characters and their development. Much like the first book, McKinley hooks you in! I absolutely love the flashback at the beginning of Sofia and Enzo. I think it gives incredible insight into their feelings and ultimately, their relationship. I really enjoyed seeing Sofia and Enzo’s relationship grow. There are many times throughout the book where the reader isn’t sure if they will or if they won’t end up together. Normally this type of push and pull irritates me, but McKinley does it well and gives the characters valid reasons for making the decisions they do.
One of the aspects I love of this series is McKinley’s development of her female characters. They are strong, independent women who can handle business on their own, but they don’t mind asking for or accepting help. They aren’t wimpy, scared girls hiding in the corner; they are right up front with the men when it goes down. I really appreciate the way McKinley has developed her female characters.
This is an excellent continuation of The Mafia Elite series.
I enjoyed this fantasy story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of the most enjoyable ones by this author that I have read. This is a well written story where enemies could just be someone you trust. A story where a group of special ops, Diarie’s Devils, are ready to defend their colony against an invasion like no other. This is a story that is fast paced and full of action. The characters are relatable and bring the story to life. This is an engaging story that was hard to put down. I enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one. This is a well written story by an author that has great writing skills and their use of attention to details made the story realistic. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters who made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced scientific fantasy story that was not only hard to put down but also kept me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I really enjoyed what the characters brought to the story and their growth throughout. The growth of the plot also made the story great. This is a great story that I highly recommend picking up today.

What a great read! From the first page on the story moves along at a good pace and the writing is so smooth. I love that in a book! The story is filled with love, stressors, military women, distrust and a fireman. Really covers everything..oh plus there is girl besties! I enjoyed all the ups and downs and meeting all the characters. They made me laugh, wonder and have doubt a couple times. I really loved how Bryce was all googly-eyed at Gina and not deterred by her refusal. Then I could feel how happy he was when she finally agreed. I felt like fist bumping him!
Overall a wonderful story. I have not read the previous ones but the characters they produce really added to this one. I look forward to more.

Power Play is the first book in the Astoria Bay Thunder Series. This is a Second Chance Hockey Romance that once you start reading you won’t want to put down till you finish. The characters are relatable and fully developed and the authors style of writing simply amazes me. This second chance romance had my emotions all over the place . Levi is the Captain of a local Professional Hockey team and Brynn is recently divorced and trying to get her life back. These two had a summer romance years ago and now he wants to win her back, she’s the one that got away and he never stopped loving her. Can they reunite? Is it to late for them to have a relationship? The chemistry between these to wow! I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This is definitely a great start to this series I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

At seventeen, Van knows her life is somewhat charmed, rarely feeling the deep bite of injustice, but this is ridiculous.
The Jaychund Games—a vital part of senior exams—should’ve been an effortless victory. Instead, the last-minute addition of an off-islander tripped her up. So, losing her temper?
Completely justifiable.
Her ex-boyfriend and her best friend are flirting right under her nose, while she hasn’t heard from her crush, Ferox, the Balish crown prince, in ages.
And now Van’s leading her team on a mission deep into Balish-occupied territory—enemy territory—to check the third seal with her powers on the fritz.
Then she breaks one tiny Balish rule, and as punishment, she’s tossed headlong into another round of games. See? Totally unfair.
Old enemies, a deadly virus, royal intrigues, cloaked assassins—and the sudden realization that someone has sent her there for an entirely different reason—threaten to send her life plan up in flames. If she fails, only the Creator knows if Van and her team will get out of this mess alive.
Cate Silver killed a man. For the last twenty years, she thought she had gotten away with it. Now, with the case reopened, she stands to lose everything. She has only one option left: trade her freedom for the truth. It’s the only way out of the mess, but it comes at a heavy price.
Twenty years ago, Patti Thomas left, and didn’t look back. She left her best friend to fend for herself. Trying to keep her secrets hidden, she had no choice but to start over. Now over four hundred miles away, with a family of her own, she knows she must go back to Vermont and help Cate.
Together again, Cate and Patti must decide if it’s time to reopen the wounds of that night or keep running from them. As evidence surfaces, the potential to destroy a once in a lifetime friendship looms. Twists, turns and murder. There’s only one way out-but how much can one friendship withstand?

Award-winning author, editor, and publisher Danielle Ackley-McPhail has worked both sides of the publishing industry for longer than she cares to admit. In 2014 she joined forces with husband Mike McPhail and friend Greg Schauer to form her own publishing house, eSpec Books.
Her published works include seven novels, Yesterday’s Dreams, Tomorrow’s Memories, Today’s Promise, The Halfling’s Court, The Redcaps’ Queen, Daire’s Devils, and Baba Ali and the Clockwork Djinn, written with Day Al-Mohamed. She is also the author of the solo collections Eternal Wanderings, A Legacy of Stars, Consigned to the Sea, Flash in the Can, Transcendence, Between Darkness and Light, and the non-fiction writers’ guides The Literary Handyman, More Tips from the Handyman, and LH: Build-A-Book Workshop. She is the senior editor of the Bad-Ass Faeries anthology series, Gaslight & Grimm, Side of Good/Side of Evil, After Punk, and Footprints in the Stars. Her short stories are included in numerous other anthologies and collections.
In addition to her literary acclaim, she crafts and sells original costume horns under the moniker The Hornie Lady Custom Costume Horns, and homemade flavor-infused candied ginger under the brand of Ginger KICK! at literary conventions, on commission, and wholesale.
Danielle lives in New Jersey with husband and fellow writer, Mike McPhail and four extremely spoiled cats.
