Secrets, Lies, and Betrayals by Lynn Wood is the first book in the Protect and Honor Series, and my first book by this author. Full to the absolute brim with twists, turns, and honestly real life scenarios that make it really difficult to set this book down. This author has such a fine attention to detail, and will absolutely throw you for a loop if you think you’ve guessed what’s coming. With the current state of the world, this book was definitely an intriguing read and will really make you think. I look forward to seeing what else Lynn has in her bag of tricks!

Puzzleman by Christopher Alan Broadstone is an absolutely exceptional horror/thriller read. This book is dark, twisted, and at times uncomfortable, in the best was possible. This book is vivid and unique, and impossible to put down. The cover is creepy, and really sets the tone for the book. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I absolutely loved it, definitely recommend it!

Red is the second installment in the Modern-Day Fairy Tales series by M.K. Harkins. I was unaware of the first book when I picked this up, so I would definitely recommend reading Ashes first as it’s a bit confusing if you haven’t. This book has a little bit of everything fairytale related, with magic, adventures, and of course Fairy god mothers. I absolutely adore any sort of Fairy Tale spin offs, interpretations, etc., and this was no exception. The characters are right there with you, you’re put right into the settings, and it’s just an overall great book. I will definitely be looking into Ashes!

In The Midst of Omens is book one of The Legacy of Gilgamesh, by the talented Nicole Bailey. I did not know much about Gilgamesh prior to this, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to change how I imagine him now! Bailey did a beautiful job detailing all of his different personality complexities, his drive, HIM! I absolutely adored all the different character dynamics, relationships, and of course the romance! I definitely recommend this author, and look forward to finding more from her in the future!

Spirit Guide is book 3 in the wonderfully written Madame Chalalmet Ghost Mysteries series by Byrd Nash. I had fallen in love with this series from book one, and I’ve just become addicted to this author! I definitely recommend reading these in order, this one has a lot of answers we’ve been waiting for. Don’t let that fool you though, this one will ALSO leave you with tons of questions! I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next in the series, Grey Lady is calling my name!

The Silent Forest is book two of David Kummer’s The House On The Hill Trilogy. David has truly mastered the subtleties and misdirection of any good psychological thriller. Not only that, but the characters are beautifully written, and really make you feel like you’ve always known them. I definitely recommend reading these in order, as the events continue just a few weeks after The Misery House ends. Looking forward to getting my hands on book 3, these cliffhangers are killing me!

The Misery House by David Kummer is the first book in The House On the Hill series, a psychological thriller, with beautiful mixes of horror and suspense. These characters were beautifully written, the setting so real I was practically right there, and the dynamics worked so well everything just fell together like a puzzle. I loved the split POV’s, this authors writing style is immaculate and will definitely leave you paranoid. I’m diving right into book 2 of this trilogy as soon as possible!!

Homicidal Innocence is a psychological thriller, with a bit of romance in between, by V.J. Lee. I loved this book from the second I opened it, and just could not separate myself from it. The story was engaging, constantly keeping you on your toes. I haven’t read from this author before, and i think this book was phenomenal. You think you’ll be able to figure it out on your own but this author is really gonna throw you for a loop! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this author from now on!

Wasabi is book 3 and the last, in C.A. King’s phenomenal Evil Sushi Series. I want to start off by mentioning how much I loved the cover design, the color scheme is perfect, and the overall feel is super ominous which was honestly a great decision considering the contents! I dove right into this after reading Sashimi, and I’m letting you know I wholeheartedly devoured this masterpiece in just one sitting! All three of these books really make you stop and consider what it is we’re really doing to the environment and I really think that’s important. I’m sad it’s the last in the series, however moving forward, I’ll be getting my hands on any C.A. King book I can find! I definitely adored this series, and I recommend reading them all, in order!

Sashimi is book two in C.A. King’s Evil Sushi Series. I knew the moment I picked this up it was gonna be full of more suspense, mystery, and dystopian horror, and boy was I blown out of the water! Second Glance is the Fourth book in the Serrulata Saga. While this is part of a series, I had no idea going into it, as it can be read as a stand-alone. I absolutely adored this book, as up until now i haven’t been able to find very many books in this genre this inclusive. I love a good forbidden romance novel, and this one is beautifully written! I loved every single character, the chemistry was incredible, and the plot was captivating! I look forward to reading the rest of the Saga!

The Book Of Fears by K.S. Gant is a dreadfully creepy collection of short stories. There are trigger warnings for each of the 8 stories, so make sure you check those before diving in! These short stories each correspond with a phobia at the start, to give you a hint on what to prepare for, so it was also educational for me because I was unfamiliar with a few of them! I loved how genuinely creeped out i got while reading these, K.S. knows exactly how to get in you head, and under your skin! I definitely recommend not only this collection, but the author as a whole! I think I’ve just found my new favorite horror author!

One Quarter Villain by Cori Cooper was a wonderful YA Fantasy read. I’m not joking when I say this book will keep you hooked from start to finish. The concept of this book is simply one of a kind, and is absolutely fascinating. Maddy’s growth throughout the book was beautiful to read, and the adventure kept me glued to my screen! I definitely recommend this book, and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more content from this author!

Italian American by Luigina Vecchione was a very much anticipated read for me! After reading Greetings from Asbury Park, I just had to know how Mariella and Jack continued their story! While the author does a beautiful job of connecting these two books, you could definitely read this as a standalone but I would definitely recommend them both! Emotions were all over the place while reading this, but it was absolutely worth reading through the tears! I cannot wait to see what else this author has for us!

Greetings from Asbury Park: A WWII love story by Luigina Vecchione, was a wonderful read. I absolutely love historical fiction, and anything to do with Rome, so of course I picked this up! A beautifully crafted story of love, resilience, and the indomitable human spirit. The characters emotions and interactions were so vivid it was as if Mariella was sitting beside me, telling me herself. A truly beautiful book, that I honestly wish I could experience for the first time all over again!

Percy’s Brides: A Double Trouble Romace by Ivy Hart was an interesting little read. I’m not a big western fan, but I rarely shy aware from a new genre. I’ll admit I was just as smitten with Percy as Clara and Amelia! I loved Ivy’s ability to bring these characters to life, as well as vivid world building that put you right beside the characters and kept you turning pages. I was definitely pleasantly blown away by my introduction to this genre, and look forward to seeing more from Ivy Hart!

Just Ducky is the first book in the Weird Shifter series by C. A. King. The cover art itself really got my attention, as well as the concept of it. Ducky is definitely unique, the first Shifter of her kind that I’ve ever seen! This author as a whole has become a must read for me, so I didn’t hesitate when I saw this book, and as always was enchanted! King’s originality and imagination is unmatched, and that includes this series starter. Full of wonderful characters, romance, adventure, and more awaits! Always recommend this author!

My god. What Lies Buried, by Leslie Kain. Where do I start? If I thought I connected to the first one, this one absolutely took the cake. Walking beside Gavin for the duration of his journey, was akin to my own. His struggle with complex PTSD, the lasting effects of mental abuse, and how his partner was affected by it had me sobbing practically the whole book. While this could most likely be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading Secrets of The Mirror first, because it’ll really help you understand Gavin and why he reacts how he does. Kain is phenomenal, and really does a powerful job of portraying mental illness without prejudice or a purposely negative light, and really does her research on each one. The plot line itself is beautifully crafted, and I refused to put this down for hours on end. Never skip over a Leslie Kain book, I know I won’t.

Kain did an amazing job helping these characters practically leap off the page, they were so refreshingly raw and engaging. This is the first book I’ve ever read involving twins, let alone mirror twins, and I think I’ve developed a new obsession! I wholeheartedly recommend this book, and this author! Evil Sushi is the first book in the extraordinarily unique Evil Sushi series, by C. A. King. A truly original concept, filled with a little bit of everything, perfectly blended into one. I adored the fact that King wasn’t afraid to use the effects of climate change, and write a phenomenal supernatural thriller to call attention to it and give you one of those “what if’s” you’ll be thinking about for years. This book will definitely make you stop for a second and think, before immediately diving right back in, only to repeat the process. As someone who adores sea food itself, I assure you it’s gonna take me a while to be able to eat it again after reading this! Definitely recommend and waiting for book 2!

Ghost Talker by Byrd Nash is the first book in the amazing Madame Chalamet series. A wonderful paranormal mystery read, with incredible imagery, amazing characters, and beautiful world building of a fictional 1900s London. I absolutely loved this book, and every single character in it! I could not put it down, and am already reading the second book. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes books that keep you on your toes trying to figure out the mystery because Nash definitely won’t disappoint!

Mealtime at the Zoo: PB&J Cafe by James Williamson is a delightful read aloud interactive children’s book. Illustrated by Ayesha Masood, this book is intended for ages 3-8, with amazing illustrations and lots of cute rhymes. An adorable way to showcase and teach how different animals eat and their different individual quirks. Overall a great children’s book, easy to follow, and informative all in one.

Healing Hearts is the prequel to the Echo Series, focusing on how Gene and Amanda’s story began. I have read the entirety of the echo series, and loved and hated finishing that final book. I was ecstatic to see this available, and dove right in immediately. I adored these two in the series and definitely wanted to know the beginning of their story, and was truly obsessed from the first page as I dove back into this authors incredible work. I have come to absolutely adore C.R. Alam’s mix of mystery, twists and spice, and wholeheartedly recommend her entire Echo series!

I dove right into this immediately after finishing book one, and finished this one almost entirely in one sitting. This one can be read as a stand-alone, however be warned, it does contain spoilers for book one if you haven’t read it yet. I adored the way these two authors are not afraid to write about the harsher, real topics that most authors don’t. I have definitely fallen in love with this authors and cannot wait to see what else they have in store for us!

Break Bone Fever is the first book in the Finnerty and Liccione Mystery Series by Mary Rae and Wanda Venters. This is the first medical murder mystery I have ever read, and it was an amazing introduction to the genre! This is definitely one of those gripping reads that will snatch your attention and refuse to let it go! I love the suspense in this book, and was constantly making theories as I read! Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series and I could not believe the amount of effort that went into this book. TEN different amazing authors came together for this masterpiece, creating an amazingly unique world as one. You can’t even tell which author wrote which segment, considering how seamlessly they wound it all together. Touched is an incredibly written fantasy romance adventure with some extra spice. I adored Aeris from page one, and ate up every single page that followed. I do highly recommend this book, and CANNOT wait to snag book two!

Amese of Animalis is the first book in The Borosa Legacy by MJ Murray. A wonderful start to a magical fantasy adventure intended for a younger audience, however I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book regardless of my age. Truly an enthralling and enchanting book, with beautiful imagery, world building, and fascinating characters. I felt a personal connection to Amese immediately, and couldn’t get enough of her narrative. I haven’t read from this author before, but I can guarantee I’m waiting for book two!

Secrets of The Moon is book one in the Chronicles of the Lost Child series by Kristy Centeno. I have always been a fan of anything paranormal and/or fantasy, so of course I picked this up as soon as I found it. Overall, I loved Kristy’s ability to put you right there in the settings with the characters, and I loved the characters themselves so much. This book is definitely slow going sometimes, but wholeheartedly worth the read. I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of reading Kristy’s work previously, but I’ll definitely be checking out more from her, as well as book two as soon as I can find it!
