This is a new author to me but being an open-minded reader, I love finding new authors whose work is so captivating that I devour each novel put out. This was one book that I was unable to put down. The author does an amazing job of character development as well as her telling of the story was brilliant. Some characters you’ll love and some you’ll absolutely despise but that’s what makes this an amazing book.
Levi and Tasha come across each other in the forest both bite each other which inexplicably intertwines their futures. Both believing they are going to die after being fed tales since birth. When they don’t die, and Levi shields Tasha from dying the nature of their relationship changes and they can’t keep away. It is the tale of a sweet summer romance before heading off to battle each other because vampires and Lycans are sworn enemies, or are they? The bond formed keeps them aware of what the other is feeling even after years of fighting in a war they do not understand, until an unknown enemy attack both sides without prejudice. Can they force the sides to come together to battle this new threat? Or will the age-old battle bring about the demise of both sides? I cannot recommend reading this book enough, it is absolutely unforgettable.

Forbidden Wolf by C. R. Robertson places a spin in the classic Enemies-to-Lovers genre, making it an intriguing read. I’ve already started the next book in the series!

From the moment vampire Tasha and lycan Levi encounter each other in a near-death situation in the forest between their bases, their future is changed forever. After a memorable summer, their adult destinies tear them apart, and many years pass before they encounter one another again. But they find that one another has changed, and question their initial attraction to one another, until Tasha realizes something that Levi did years ago and their lives change even more.

Will the battle between the Lycans and Vampires and a mysterious new foe keep them apart, or do they drift together once again, proving that if you let the one you love go, they will find their way back to you if it is truly meant to be?

Forbidden Wolf is the first book in the series The Shadow Chronicles by CR Robertson. This is a paranormal story with vampires and Lycans. The storyline is captivating. I found myself flying through the pages because I wanted to know what was happening next. The characters are fully developed and complicated. These characters made the book. Vampires and Lycans are enemies and not to be in a relationship. That is until Tasha, a vampire, and Levi, a Lycan are in a relationship. They are seeking out answers to why they were kept apart, especially since their union could save both of their kinds. Will Tasha and Levi’s relationship become a problem or will it be the answer that they are looking for? I highly recommend this book to find out if vampires and Lycans can be bedfellows.

This book had me at first bite! I will admit that there was a moment I was so engrossed in the story, my partner touched my shoulder and I jumped so I high I almost threw my kindle. 😳 I also stayed up waaayy later than I should have to finish it, but that’s typical with a good read.
Vampires and lycans have been at war for centuries. So long that most cannot even remember why they’re enemies anymore. Each species has grown up on horror stories of the other and to fraternize with each other is a death sentence. Tasha is a vampire that is quite the loaner. She is one of those girls that you automatically notice and know are special, but they can’t see it in themselves. She’s also reckless and adventurous which is what leads us to meet Levi the lycan.
Levi … Ugh! I love me a dominant character!! As most wolves must be, he is a wild and dominant character – only a little moreso as he is a black wolf; and that only grows as the story progresses.
I’m definitely going to immediately dive into the next book as I am not ready for this story to end yet.

This is my first book by C.R. Robertson and I truly enjoyed it. Its a first time read that did not disappoint. This book is original, well thought, adventurous, and packed full of amazing characters.
Tasha a Vampire and Levi a Lycan are complete opposites and sworn enemies. A chance encounter leads to irrefutable attraction that leads them into dark and dangerous territory as their relationship and love is punishable by death. This story will enrapture you from start to finish and wishing for your own paranormal fated romance. Throw in the mystery, suspense, steam, and fantasy lore and you have the perfect mix.

Paranormal masterpiece
Such an excellent piece of writing. I was drawn in from the first word and held captive right til the end. Tasha and Levi hold a special place in my heart. I really enjoyed their story and the roller coaster they endured to be together. Characterisation is on point and the world building brilliant. The journey is far from over – I can’t wait to check out book two and get some more answers. Highly recommend this awesome series starter.

A twisted story of interspecies love, and the ravages that war wreaks on beings. Tasha and Levi are the epitome of star-crossed lovers, being forced apart to participate on opposite sides of a war neither agrees with. The plot is interesting and varied enough to keep reader engaged. The revelation of the shared enemy was a cool shift in the story that I didn’t expect. I would have liked to see a little more character development around Tasha and Levi, some layers in their relationship and personalities. All in all, a paranormal romance that will keep you guessing.

Oh snap! First things first. That cliffhanger spartan kicked me off the edge leaving me with nothing to grasp. It was baffling and had me feeling all sorts of feelings. I didn’t know a steamy scene could do that to me but WOW!!!

The tension between vampires and lycan are no different in this series. But it has a unique enemy that you don’t see coming until it drives into you like a Mac truck. It has its own subspecies and different forms of it.

Levi and Tasha in this series are a force to be reckoned with. Each can hold their own independently, but when they are together it’s a whole other ball game. Both have pasts that they aren’t proud of but they overcome it together.
CR did a wonderful job writing this first book. It drew me in from the first word. I saw the book playing out in my mind like a movie. That doesn’t happen a lot for me, but this book definitely did it. I will be 100% recommending this book to my friends that love erotica with a good story.

Thrilling, action packed, enemies to lovers with some spice thrown in! This book has a little bit for every type of reader! Tasha was a fierce main character, she did what she had to do to survive but also followed her heart and stayed true to who she was. Levi was an alpha in every sense of the word, he was strong, commanding and passionate. Watching the vampires and lycans realize how much they actually needed each other to get through this war was *chefs kisses*. I can’t wait to see how this story plays out in book two! I want to see them make it to their pairs!

I truly enjoyed reading this book! I was sucked in immediately with the young love that was forbidden and their promise to meet up years later. The author did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life in my mind and their inner struggles to survive. Admittedly, I am a sucker for strong male characters that find their mates and will go to any length to protect them.

Cannot wait for the next book!!

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles #1) by CR Robertson

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Robertson knows how to draw readers in and keep them interested. A page turner for sure.

Tasha is a vampire and has always been told that Lycans are bad people. When she meets a black wolf things change. Young and in love is what she is. Twenty years is what they promised, but can they make it? The quote I chose for Tasha is: “We all have to join the army the September after our twenty-first birthday. I don’t want to but there is no other choice.”

Levi was minding his business until a sexy vampire took him down. The bite she left him caused more to happen. Fated mates. He’s heard of them and now his wolf will do nothing but get to her. The quote I chose for Levi is: “You need to back the f*** up. I don’t know who you are or who you think we are, but we’re leaving.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Vampire lovers.

We’re all familiar with Underworld and the vampire/lycan romance that happens in it, in fact that is what drew me to this book in the first place. Lovers coming together against all odds and ending up having to work together for the greater good of both of their people is amazing to me! Tasha and Levi start out as two young teenagers that enjoy the salaciousness of their relationship but as years tick by without ever seeing each other, they realize it was much more than just a summer fling. However, it’s not all love and sex for these two; things are coming to fruition that have been in the works for decades unbeknownst to most of their kinds. A thrilling read for any romance and action/adventure and supernatural enthusiast, there is something for any of us in this story.

It was interesting seeing a vampire and werewolf hook up, that was very unique to me. There was a lot of steamy scenes, action, and I thought suspense as well. It had all the thrills of a paranormal romance. I enjoyed the descriptive way the author was able to write and describe everything, I felt like I was right there along for the ride with Tasha and Levi. This is the story of Tasha and Levi, Tasha is a vampire with special gifts which she has to hide from her coven, she doesn’t have much affection from her parents, but she adores her little sister and now that Tasha is nearing twenty one years old, after her next birthday she will be conscripted into the vampire army, but she always feels trapped by her coven and the secrets she has to keep, so every night she goes into the forest around her to be free and be herself while nobody is watching. When she does this she can use her gift to sense the world around her and connect with the souls residing within it and her main goal is to find an elusive balck jaguar which has been seen around the base. Levi is a werewolf with a distinctive black pelt, he is a loner and prefers to spend his time in the forest learning about what resides within it when he isn’t hunting to prepare for when he joins with others in a military unit, but this one day both Tasha and Levi run into each other on the boundaries of their respective lands when she believes he is the black jaguar and sensing what the other is, they bite each other in an attack first and ask questions later way that their kinds have been trained to do during the war between their races and afterwards, fully expecting that they will die within a few hours from the poisons contained within each.

As they stand and argues over who bit who first and why, as well as what they are going to do now, so as the poisons flow through their systems, they introduce themselves to each other and although neither wants to be with the other as they die, Levi mentions a cave nearby where they can spend their last few hours together and talk. When they get there and they sit with each other, neither of them can deny a certain attraction fizzling between them, Tasha hasn’t felt like this towards anyone else in her coven and she is both scared and excited by it, but she also feels strangely safe with him, Levi is just as confused at his feelings about Tasha and when they share a kiss as they lay dying on the cave floor, the unfairness of the situation really takes hold, especially when Tasha has a last course of bloodlust, she can’t resists biting Levi and tasting his blood one last time. However, as they bite into each other something happens and they start to heal and recover and one thing leads to another and they are kissing again while still mystified at what has happened until the sun rises and Levi shifts into his wolf form to protect Tasha from the deadly rays, but as night falls they reemerge from the cave and walk back to the boundaries discussing their surroundings on the way.

What should have been a death warrant, was something they couldn’t resist as they agree to meet again the next night and many nights after that, however, as their time together comes to an end they agree to meet again once their conscription ends, however, the war isn’t all it is slated as and the future becomes more uncertain for them every day they are fighting, especially when a new enemy comes to the fore, but will they be able to keep their love a secret and stay alive long enough to allow their plans to come to fruition, or will fate intervene and rip them apart? This is an action packed forbidden paranormal romance with plenty of action thrown in for good measure which will keep you hooked until the end.

They knew their families would not accept their love because the families had been at war for a long time Enter the master hellspawn, hated by both vamps and lycans alike. This evil spawn brought both sides together to help defeat this beast. Filled with a lot of action and some steamy romance, this is a great book for the paranormal romanced lover. The spin on this theme was well thought out. Enjoyed how the characters grew and adjusted to their circumstances. The chemistry between them was awesome. Overall the majority of the story had me on the edge of my seat with the author’s writing style.

Forbidden Wolf was such a fun read. I fell into the story and I got lost in the words. I love a good vampire and lycan story but this one just took a hold of me and wouldn’t let go! I loved the story telling, the characters and their development and all the twists and turns. This story felt different from all the rest – it is a love story between two impossible people but it is also so much more than that. It’s also about family, adventure, friendship, self growth and one heck of an ride.

s a fan of Stephanie Meyers’ Twilight series, I was thrilled that this series involved both the Lycans and vampires. The characters of Tasha and Levi are well-developed, and their story is truly one for the ages.

Tasha is a twenty-year-old vampire that is waiting to be enlisted in the vampire army in September. Staying at the coven shelter before joining the army is hard for Tasha as she is a free spirit. She enjoys escaping from the vampire base to enjoy her nights in the jungle. She loves exploring the jungle alone.

Levi is a twenty-one Lycan, the vampire’s mortal enemy. A chance encounter in the forest between Tasha and Levi leads to a summer fling, but it’s so much more than that. They are connected in a much deeper meaning.

Through the next ten years, both participate in the war between the vampires and the Lycans. Suddenly though there’s a new enemy out there. One that wants to decimate both the vampire and Lycan species. Will the vampires and Lycans make a truce to fight this new common enemy?

I want to start off by saying this book was not the normal type of book I would have picked up and read. And it was amazing, think supernatural cross with underworld with a little passion on the side. I enjoyed it so much that it made my day reading it, I was even reading it while cooking. I had been in a rut with my reading and wasn’t able to find anything to enjoy, this book made me fall back into read. the story captivated me right from the moment I started reading about Levi and Tasha, who were forbidden to even talk to each other due to the nature that wolfs, and vampires don’t mix, but created a passion that no one could stop them. The passion that Robertson had made with the two main characters was one reason I just couldn’t put it down. I will say I will be on the lookout for the rest of the books to this fantastic series.

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by CR Robertson – Review by Alexandra Leith June 2021

A unique and intriguing must read!

Where should I begin?!?! This story is a tale as old as time. Two sworn enemies who fall into a forbidden romance. A love that is so big they are willing to risk everything including death to have it. The story of Werewolves and Vampires warring with one another has been told many times before, but this has a twist no one sees coming! Thia is a romance, paranormal and mystery book all wrapped into one. It truly has something for everyone. When the book started I thought it would just be about a secret relationship between the two and how they hid it from everyone, but it wasn’t! Obviously their relationship is a huge part of the book but CR Robertson has outdone herself and made it so much more than just that. And to top it all off she didn’t kill me with a huge cliffhanger. There are so many unanswered questions that I’m just burning to get the answers to, but I feel happy to wait for more because she ended it in such a perfect way! I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series and to read her other books!

We follow Tasha, the vampire who questions everything and Levi, the lycan throughout the story.

I was absolutely sucked in (see what I did there) from the moment I started reading. The story progresses very quickly and it’s not something I wanted to put down. It doesn’t leave you disappointed and I truly hope there is more to this!
