Healing Danger was a great 5 star read and book one in the Fortis Security series. Once you start you will not want to put it down until your done.
Lauren and Dane had some not so great pasts that caused them both to be leary about opening their hearts up to each other. Their stories will tug at your heartstrings and you will understand the “why’ behind their issues. They were made for each other. Of course their journey isn’t an easy one, they do have their challenges.
There are unexpected twist and turns and the secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. This is a great book with suspense, romance, and so much more. I was pulled right in with Maddie’s writing. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If you’re looking for a great series and a great group of characters 1-click and get started today on the Security series.
Healing Danger is the first book in the Fortis Security series. A contemporary romance, this novel also doubles as a suspense, with danger lurking from the very first pages. I quickly became absorbed with this book and obsessed with the characters and their storylines. This is one of those reads that takes over your day and before I knew it, most of the evening had passed while I was glued to the screen of my Kindle. Fans of romance with added mystery and thrills, this is definitely a read for you.
Our leading characters come with one of my favourite things; a past! As much as I love reading about characters meeting each other for the first time, I adore stories where the characters have a difficult past that they have to face up to. Lauren and Dane have exactly this kind of story and I loved jumping in and seeing how things would turn out for them. Falling for these two wasn’t difficult, as Lauren is a loving, kind woman and Dane is, typically, a special forces -trained action man. Who doesn’t want to read about them?! But aside from what some may call, romance stereotypes, this plot is so much more. It’s exciting, completely enthralling and very real. Lauren and Dane both have to make some difficult decisions in this book, many that had me nervous for their future. No spoilers, but I hope you’re as satisfied with the ending as me!
If action-packed romance is what you like, Healing Danger is a must. This is an exciting start to a new series that I cannot wait to jump into. Thanks to the author for a great read!
Healing Danger (Fortis Security #1) by Maddie Wade was a okay read that kept my attention and followed at a good pace.
I got some mixed feelings going on with this one. I have read one other book in this series, and I did have some mix feelings about that as well. I’m not going to get into that. This story, this tale, was unique to say the least. I liked the overall plot and I loved the paranormal element. It added a little something extra and also adds a darkened subplot, that will be the driving force of this series.
What got me all mixed up is the love plot and how it felt a little off and forced. For the first book in a series, it read more like a continuation, things felt missed, especially between Lauren and Dane. Yes they do have history before the start of this story, more along the lines of long-distance friends. Dane was deployed (I don’t know a few years back, before this story starts, not sure of that timeline) and Lauren wrote him, which I might add wasn’t mention by Lauren (that he was deployed), so at first I thought they were chatting over a work like network.. nope.. not the case; so that was a tab bit confusing at first. They why they were tossed together was, just, anticlimactic. Now don’t get me wrong there is plenty of action and drama in this book, just not in regards to the love plot. (Not talking about the smut scenes.)
As for the mystery, and the stalker that’s trying to off Lauren, that was interesting, engaging and great. I was fully immersed in that storyline, and it’s what kept me reading. It made up for the flatness of the loveline, and really brought this story to life. It also pulled this read into that 4 star spot. I was a little on the fence there. But I have to warn you, this story ends on a cliff-hanger. As in, the major who-ha, is cut and now I have to get the second book to see what the hell is going on.
So yeah, overall this book is a pretty decent read. I liked almost everything, and I will be continuing this series. So please take my stamp of approval, and my high recommendation.
Healing Danger: A Fortis Security Novel Book 1 (Fortis Security Series)
HEALING DANGER is the first book in the Fortis Security Series and because I am reading this series out of order, it was cool to go back to the beginning.
This is a suspense story with friendship, murder, mayhem, romance, secondary characters who are totally alpha (I’m glad they get stories in the future) and a few other things thrown in. There are twists and turns throughout and there is an element which I really wasn’t expecting even though I’ve read other books in the series.
It took me a little bit to get “into” the story but because I have enjoyed the author’s writing in the past, I was able to move ahead and get to a place of comfort in the book.
I recommend this author, this series and this book
Ex-Special Forces commander Dane Bennett is now the team leader at Fortis Security. Protecting people is his job…until a serial killer targets Lauren Cassidy and makes it personal.
Dane never imagined the woman who’d left him for another man, ripping away his chance at a family, would become his most dangerous client.
Racing to keep Lauren safe from a deadly killer with an agenda, Dane makes a split-second decision. A decision neither of them may survive.
Maddie Wade is a married mum of three children. She was born and raised in Hereford. Maddie loves to spend time with her family and friends, eating out, going to the cinema and generally just enjoying life. She is an avid reader and is never found without her kindle, or smart phone. Maddie is a huge advocate of all things martial arts and got her black belt at age 14 years. She has also studied Jujitsu and has encouraged her children to do the same.
Deadly Alliance is a Fortis/Purgatory Crossover written by Maddie Wade and India Kells. I have not read the Women of Purgatory by India Kells but I definitely want to get to know them now. I have read the Fortis Security stories and loved them, this crossover is no different. Emme is a strong female lead and Shane is just like the other men. The attraction between the two is instant followed closely by annoyance and irritation. Shane doesn’t believe Emme can/should fulfill the mission. Can she prove him wrong?

Phoenix Rising is book seven in the Fortis Security Series by Maddie Wade. I like this series with each new instalment, and have to say that Daniel and Megan’s story is the best so far. It was edgy, packed with action and bursting with passion and danger.
Megan and Daniel face a rough road, and the attraction he fights is both entertaining and frustrating. Maddie Wade draws out the intensity expertly and maddeningly. Burning with the relentless urge to know all the mystery surrounding their story, I turned the pages way too quickly. I did not want their story to be over. I could have read about them for days more. A story bursting with heat, sexiness and energy, Phoenix Rising is a must read. 5 stars.
Imagine my surprise when I finished this book and found out that it was book 7 in the series. The beginning few chapters referenced characters that were clearing introduced in other books and I had my suspicions that I was missing something. However, I was able to understand the story line, so I continued reading. I could tell which characters were clearly the good guys and which ones needed to go. Other reviews say that this can be read as a stand-alone, I don’t really agree because you don’t get the back story of Rhea Winslow. Even Megan’s back story isn’t told in this book. So, I definitely think the books should be read in order. I do think this book is worth the price. Since this is my first book by Maddie Wade I am intrigued enough to read the others in this series.
This story was adventurous and dangerous and sexy. Daniel and Megan are hot together. I am not sure if these two are in the other books but wow they are good in this one. The other characters, the rest of the Fortis Security team, are amazing, entertaining, loveable. I know I am going to read the rest of this series. You should too!

Arctic Fire is another 5 star read by Maddie Wade. I have only read a couple of her books so far but all have been 5 star reads. Arctic Fire is the 6th book in the Fortis Security Series. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone. Although all the couples from books 1-5 appear in this book, it does not matter if you have not read them. I had not read any of the other books from this series and it did not spoil my enjoyment of this one. All it did was make me want to go back and read books 1-5. Maddie Wade writes amazing characters and lets you get right into their heads and feel everything along with them. Roz and Kanan (K) in this book are no different. Roz is the head of Zenobi, a group of female assassins who is out to kill Usov, an evil man who she was forced to marry but has now escaped from. Kanan Phillips is a former MI6 agent who now works for Fortis Security. 15 years previously Kanan had rescued Roz and fell in love with her although Roz does not remember this. A chance meeting years later sees Roz and Kanan spend an idyllic couple of months together before Roz disappeared. Now Roz is working alongside Fortis to save a group of girls held captive by Usov and with the intention to kill Usov. Can Roz work alongside Kanan? Will she tell him why she disappeared and left him? Will she give in and admit that she is still in love with Kanan? The chemistry between Roz and Kanan is on fire. I love how well written these 2 characters are. As the story is written from more than one point of view, we get to see what is going through both of their heads. I loved seeing Roz’s struggle to show that she was strong and did not need Kanan but at the same time fight with her feelings for him. This book has everything you could want in a book. It is full of action and suspense which keep you gripped from beginning to end. Added to this is the romance between Roz and Kanan with its so many ups and downs. You just can’t help but hope that there is a HEA for Roz and Kanan.

Arctic Fire Fortis Security Book 6 (Fortis Security #6) by Maddie Wade and another great book to this series I have come to love and regard as family. There is non stop action in this thriller that starts right from word go and does not stop. Roz and K have had dark pasts that we have only had glimpses of throughout the series. I knew that their story would be that much darker than the rest but Maddie has does a great job in telling them. These dangerous and brooding Alpha men and deadly women bring their skills to finally chase down a down an evil the world can live without. But in doing so means that some will need to confront and face terrors of the past and that may not be as easy as it seems.
Maddie Wade’s Fortis Security series gets better and better with every book and I always feel saddened when they come to an end because they are so enjoyable. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
