I was really nervous to read this because I do not like clowns AT ALL. I really enjoyed it. The story was fresh and original. The main character was easy to like and the 80’s soundtrack was everything! I will definitely read more from this author.

This book was one I didn’t see coming at all! The 14 year old main character is a ghost magnet but clown ghosts! I am not scared of ghosts, or clowns for that matter but even my palms were sweaty a few times while reading this book! It was well written and had an attention grabbing story line that I really appreciated! Reader beware, it might seem like a Childs book but any adult is sure to be spooked! Great job and a first for me from this author but definitely not the last!

Class Clown is part of the Ghost Girl Series and I truly enjoyed reading this YA/Paranormal story. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect going in but once I started I found myself having a hard time putting it down. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what other books they . It started out a bit slow but definitely picked up the pace pretty quickly and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is a story about Abbey, she seems to have some pretty cool super powers. These super powers give her the ability to see ghosts and interact with them. She goes to the circus with her parents and a ghost clown follows her home. Abbey finds herself seeing clowns everywhere she goes and when her friends start disappearing from school she she has a feeling the clowns may be involved. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I definitely can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Well I couldn’t put it down, and when I tried a few hours later I had to finish it. I loved it! Class Clown was definitely a book off the beaten path for me. Not usually my cup of tea. What attracted me though was the “Ghost Whisper” aspect of it. Abbey has a thing, that thing is she can communicate with ghosts. After joining her family at the circus, Abbey starts seeing ghost clowns. Everyone’s worst nightmare, right? What happens when her friends and fellow soccer players start disappearing? She’s still being stalked by clown ghosts and doesn’t know why. She also feels those same ghosts are behind the disappearances of her friends. But, are they? How can a ghost take someone, they are just an entity after all. Abbey does everything she can to get to the bottom of her friends’ disappearances, while helping a few ghosts along the way. Does she figure it out? What do the clown ghosts want? It’s different but really good, I definitely recommend this book to anyone who comes across it. Be mindful though if you’re afraid of clowns, proceed with caution as this book can very well be a trigger of your fear. Otherwise Enjoy!
Clowns and I on a good day don’t mix. But now I read about a clown apocalypse in this creepy YA tale. Unique, suspense, mystery, and thriller describe what the author has going on in this tale. It is fast paced with an intriguing plot. There was something just out of reach around each corner to make this a story spookier. With drama and angst, ghosts and dead clowns, people missing and teenagers there is something for all to enjoy. Abbey’s always been a bit different but that different is not something she relishes; no if she had her way, she would rather not have that something and now her world has turned upside down. She is going to need all her strength and determination if she wants to stop this invasion. I am sure YA’s and those that aren’t afraid of clowns will absolutely love Abbey and her ghostly adventure story.
This was an interesting read! I enjoyed the premise of the story, and the plot, whoever I had a bit of a time getting into it. I’m pretty sure it was just an off reading day, but I had trouble getting into the story and connecting with the characters. I enjoyed it and it was a really interesting story, I just couldn’t get into it. The story was entertaining, and the characters were very interesting. It was unique in a way I haven’t read before, especially with clowns. Very interesting. I would love to read this again one day just to make sure but I really think it was just an off reading day!
Crazy Clowns and ghosts A fast paced paranormal adventure involving crazy clowns, ghosts and well developed characters. There was action that kept me turning the pages. The build up was lengthy which meant that the ending was a bit rushed but good nonetheless. This would make a wicked movie by the way. If you have a fear of clowns it could get a bit scary but that’s the thrill of the ride.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, when I started reading it. This book is very well written that has many twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. It did have a little bit of a slow start but once it got going it just didn’t stop. This is a YA paranormal book is a cross between supernatural and coming of age which kept it very entertaining. The characters are so well developed, that Abbey who has a power of seeing ghosts. High school drama, secrets, dead clowns, creepiness, intensity, suspense, mysteriousness and dramatic are just a few words that really describe this amazing book. Highly recommend.

4/5 Stars I honestly went into this not knowing what to expect. I was drawn to this book because the description seemed very interesting. This is a YA paranormal read and it’s very good. It’s a bit of a slow start, but it gets really good once it gets going. Because of the slower start I was a little confused about the clowns but once everything gets explained, it all makes sense.

Abbey has the ability not only to see, but to interact with ghosts. After visiting the circus with her parents she starts to see clowns everywhere. When her fellow students start turning up missing she has a feeling that the clowns are connected. Will her ability help her to find her missing classmates or will it only make things worse?
I enjoy reading book that have to do with anything paranormal/supernatural. This is only the second book I have read that has dealt with clowns, but it was a good one. I can’t say for sure I’m scared if clowns, but I DEFINITELY wouldn’t want to be seeing dead clowns everywhere I look. I really should have been asleep a whole ago since I have a long day or work ahead of me tomorrow, BUT I couldn’t resist! This book was a page turner and I needed to find out how it ended. I am a first time reader of this author and look forward to reading more of his work.
Can I just start by saying WOW!!! I loved the cross between this coming of age and supernatural novel!!! Abbey has a well developed power of seeing ghosts. One day after a jaunty journey to the circus and back dead clowns start appearing at her high school and people start going missing. This is one of the books that once you pick up you can’t put down so fair warning there. It is a really great story and the characters are so well developed that they really drive the story. Being as this was my first book by this novel I am thrilled to say I have found a new favorite author to add to my list!

Dramatic, eventful and full of twists and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this and the character development was really well done. I liked the adventurous side of it and the smart strong character. Would definitely be interested in reading more by this author.

Horror and mystery lovers line up! This novel is everything a horror obsessed teen/adult could want. Any reader will fall in love with Abbey from the get-go. Besides being a loving teen, she has a special sense that allows her not only to see the dead, but also to interact with them. The suspense keeps this novel alive from beginning to end. You will not want to put this book down once you start.
From character development to world-building to detail, I am honestly surprised more people have not gotten their hands on this book. I definitely expect to see it on BookTok in the near future!

This is a fantastic YA novel with such a strong main character right at it’s core. I loved how easy it was to connect with this story and character. The story itself was original and refreshing to read. It isn’t the usual type of YA novel that you would pick it. The story flowed well and was enjoyable to read. The characters were all varied and each added something different to the overall book. The main character stood out as the overall heroin and it was nice to see such a strong character in a book of this genre. I thought the author did a great job and this book was thoroughly enjoyable to read.
When I was younger, I was scared of clowns. I figured as an adult, that fear dissipated. I guessed wrong and this book scared me. I started reading it one night and literally had to stop and continue the next day when the sun was out. It seems as if a lot of people are afraid of clowns and this book digs deep into the stereotypical fear of clowns and turns it into something more sinister. My heart pounded in my chest hard during most of the reading of this book.
You follow a 14 year old girl named Abbey. Abbey is different from other teenagers. She can see and interact with spirits. She starts at a new school thinking her life will be different. A couple days before her new school year starts, her family attends a circus. After that evening, Abbey starts seeing clowns everywhere. She thinks something has followed her home from the circus. On top of all that, a couple of her friends go missing and all signs point to the clown ghosts. Abbey tries to figure out what is going on while trying to find her friends before it is too late.
I felt like this book was rushed. It seemed like everything conveniently fell into place. Abbey mentions that she has lost friends in the past due to her abilities yet everyone just accepts it and moves on like it’s no problem. Plus there were a lot of references to 80’s music which got annoying after a while.
I really enjoyed this story. Its a paranormal adventure. The author did an amazing job of bringing the character of Abbey and her story to life. It was also really good how the author wrote the clowns, making them dangerous and scary without being too much or too graphic. Needless to say after reading this book I’m going to be more wary of clowns in the future.
Abbey has just started at a new school. What people don’t know is she had a special gift of seeing spirits. Not ideal when you want to be a normal girl and just fit in. However things start to get stranger after a incident she witnessed at the circus has her seeing clowns everywhere. These clowns aren’t the fun loving entertaining kind. They mean trouble and when her friends start going missing Abbey knows she needs to face the growing fear of these clowns to figure out the truth. Can she figure it out before its too late and stop the clown apocalypse before it happens?
Holy cow! I thought I could read this and not be scared. Nope, I’m afraid of clowns (ever since another clown from the sewers). I did make it through the book though. Fantastically scary, well-written! These clowns will give you nightmares. Abbey brought one home from the circus and it went to school with her. Her friends then started to disappear. Creepy mystery with a touch of horror just right for the teens (and those of us old people too). I love the fact that she and her dad look into odd things. The story fit so well together. Her friends were just your average teens. Great story that I would give more than a 5 if I could. I just found out this is a series so I look forward to reading more. Terrific book I recommend (as long as you aren’t afraid of clowns).
I enjoyed this suspenseful mystery. This is a little different story but the author did a great job of pulling me into the story. I enjoyed the author’s writing style as well as his attention to details that made the story realistic. This is a well written story that has twists and turns that left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. This is a story about what happens when clowns follow you home and dead clowns seem to be at your high school. On top of that, Abbey’s friends come up missing. She seems to have some special powers but is this going to be helpful or could it just mean more danger? I really enjoyed what she brought to the story. She is strong and was a great support to the other characters throughout the story. I enjoyed the growth of the plot as well as the characters in the story. It is a fast paced, action story that was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.
Class Clown (Ghost Girl #2) by Allan Evans is a wonderfully spooky YA paranormal story- with ghosts, dead clowns, high school drama, secrets, creepiness, intensity, suspense, mysteriousness, and dramatic developments that kept me flipping the pages to find out what would happen. This is part of the Ghost Girl series, the first book being ‘Abnormally Abbey’, and even though I haven’t read the first book in the series, I didn’t feel like I was lost or unsure of what was happening- so this could be read as a standalone. Having said that though, it has definitely piqued my curiosity enough to want to go back and read the first book to find out more about Abbey. Abbey isn’t your average teenager- she has an ability that has come with quite a high cost- one she would rather not possess. She can’t even pretend that the supernatural is all make believe now- because she knows better. When something sinister follows her home from the circus, we follow along as Abbey tackles the clown apocalypse….. Happy Reading!

This book is not in my normal go to wheel house. I have read horror before and enjoy a good mystery, so I thought, why not give this book a try. I was not disappointed. This book flows from the first page to the last page. It is incredibly well written and the characters have growth. The thing that gets me though is that the main character is having to deal with seeing dead people and crazy clowns all while attending high school and trying to have a normal life. She sets out to save those she cares about from the crazy clowns, which I pictured in my head to look a little like Killer Clowns From Outer Space but darker. The action sequence in this book is a huge page turner. The ending I feel could have lasted a little longer. Maybe had more of an epic engine scene but it was still really good the way it is. I guess I just didn’t want the book to end. If you are looking for a book that will completely transport you into the story, this is that book. I lost track of time while reading this because I couldn’t put it down.

Abbey isn’t ordinary, not even close. Ghosts are drawn to her like she’s some sort of a spook magnet—but it’s not as glamorous as it sounds. Dead people suck and have cost her many close friends. Yet it gets worse. Something bad followed Abbey home from the circus. And now dead clowns are at her new high school, and friends have gone missing. Her unique abilities could help, but they also could be the reason for the clown apocalypse. Surviving high school just got tougher.
