If you need a good laugh, chuckle, or heart pull I highly recommend this! I didn’t see the ending I thought would happen because of the 2 totally different people. She’s a city girl from a big city and he’s a country boy from a small town. He’s a mechanic and she’s working her way up the corporate ladder. It was supposed to be just a one night stand. I loved this book so much! I am defiantly keeping it on my shelf as a favorite.

I enjoyed this romance story. This is a well written story where the author used details to not only bring the story to life on each page but also gave it a realistic feel. This is a story about a woman who has wanted a promotion for a while. She moves to a new town for this promotion only to run into some problems with things like snakes, going in a ditch and the mechanic that she never expected. What will fate have in store for these two? Will she keep her mind on her job while falling for this mechanic? I enjoyed being pulled into the story by these two. They have great chemistry as well as great growth throughout the story. They made up the story for me and they were cute together. I found this book to be fast paced and engaging. I had a hard time putting this book down. It was entertaining and fun. I highly recommend this book.

Gone Country by Katrina Marie a delightfully charming four-star read. This could have been a five-star read, and I had high hopes for it, I am hoping that the next one will knock it over the edge. This took a while to warm up to and get into, Stella I got as I am also clumsy and have some shocking luck, but other parts left me cold. But by the end of the story, her and Johnny give you the warm and fuzzies. It has a good story, once you get to the meat of it, so I would say keep going if you start and wonder what is going on.

I absolutely LOVED this book. From the moment Stella met Johnny, I knew this book was going to be good. It’s one of those books that I could see being turned into a movie or a TV show. Stella is trying to get a promotion at her job after working very hard for countless years. Johnny is the country hottie she meets during her newest adventure of temporary relocation. This is book 1 in the Cousins Gone series and I will most definitely be reading the other books in the series.

I couldn’t put this book down. From the first page to the last page, I was hooked. The three cousins in this book reminded me so much of myself and my best friends, especially when we were younger. I will be reading the rest of the series as soon as I can! I have already downloaded them on my kindle! I can’t wait to read Audrey’s storyline because she reminds me of myself. However, Stella moving away from her people for work also reminded me slightly of my own dreams and ambitions. This book was amazing, and I would recommend it to my friends in a heartbeat. (I may already have!)

Gone Country is the first book in the Cousins Gone series by Katrina Marie. This is the first book that I have read from this author so I really didn’t know what to expect going in. What I found between the covers was a cute and very light read. Diehard city girl meets down to earth country boy. This is a tried and true recipe that I have read many times before and have enjoyed- especially as an in-between my heavier reads book-snack. I think this story held a lot of potential, but failed to deliver, for me. Like I said, it is a cute and light read- there really wasn’t anything there that really grabbed my attention to make it stand out from the crowd. The characters were ok, but they frustrated me so much, I really had trouble connecting with them. But I feel that with some tweaking like fixing the grammar issues, keeping the pace from lagging and dragging, having more detailed descriptions, with more development of the story and characters, and a little extra (realistic and unmanufactured) drama or conflict would definitely go a long way to making this book more memorable… but again that is just me. Please don’t let me put you off reading this story if you like a lighter read- I just prefer my stories with a bit more ‘meat’. I am curious to read some of Katrina Marie’s other work to see what else she can do and if this is just a one-off issue, for me. I will probably go back and read this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or if maybe I was just having an ‘off’ reading day with this.

She is a driven city girl with her eyes on the prize.
He is a smoking hot country mechanic whose prize is her.
Stella Monroe has her eye on one thing…a promotion. So when her boss offers her an opportunity to show her value to the company, she decides to take it. There is just one problem. Moving to a small town away from her city life isn’t Stella’s idea of a good time. But she’s got this. Right?
From the minute she arrives in the country, Stella is beginning to lose her confidence. Her car ends up in a ditch, a snake decides to visit her in the shower, and the quiet is driving her crazy. Her only saving grace is the hot mechanic that rescued her from the side of the road. His mix of kindness and cocky playfulness is definitely appealing, but can she manage her career and a fling?
Katrina Marie lives in the Dallas area with her husband, two children, and fur baby. She is a lover of all things geeky and Gryffindor for life. When she’s not writing you can find her at her children’s sporting events, or curled up reading a book.
