Grave Digger Academy II (Grave Digger Academy Book 2) by C.A. King – Review by Ayla Eddy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Second year in the paranormal academy world Makayla finds herself returning to Grave Digger Academy. She isn’t alone in the return for another year. The position for transfer to another academy did not happen for any student at the academy. All bodies are needed to compete in an inter-academy face off with the other academies. A loss would be devastating to the school ensuring that its doors would close for good, but a win could get them the financial needs toward the school. What would happen in the paranormal world if the Grave Diggers didn’t keep the dead six feet under?

What could be better than having the gang back together and competing to keep their school open? Something foul smelling and out of place or will these inter-academy games be smooth sailing for the Grave Digger students?

This read was just as exciting as book 1! I flew through the story in just one sitting. It was good to continue on with Makayla and the other students in this second installment of the series. I cannot wait to continue on with book 3.

Another great book in the series. This time the group comes together for the Inter-Academy games. What could go wrong? The students are forced to find their inner strengths and their bond with their helpers. You can feel the growth in the students and their confidence in themselves. I really enjoyed seeing those who were thought to be from the lessor school overcome the tasks at hand and show that they are also a force to be wrecken with but can also come together to save those in need. Overall, a fun quick read.

Grave Digger Academy II is a good YA paranormal fantasy. I said it with the first book but this book has more of a Harry Potteresque feel to it as the students line up to win the inter-academy face off. I love that the series is fun and light hearted.

Young Witches, death, graves, deadly games and the adventure begins. The story flows nicely and is excitingly intriguing with delightful characters. There are still so many layers to be explored and revealed that looks exciting.

Makayla is back for her second year at the Grave Digger Academy and finds there is still so much more to the Academy. An Academy with lots of secrets and things that are hidden within the grounds and in the darkness.

A delightful series.

4.5 Stars

Grave Digger Academy II by C.A. King follows on from Grave Digger Academy and continues the intriguing adventures.
It is a fantastic YA paranormal fantasy with plenty of mystery, action, tension, intrigue, and dramatic developments.
As we discovered in Book One, Makayla didn’t want to attend Grave Digger Academy, but didn’t exactly have a choice. She soon discovers that there was definitely more to Grave Digger Academy than she expected. In this instalment Makayla is about to start her second year, and after what happened in Book One, things are off to an interesting start. With an inter-academy challenge thrown into the mix, there’s plenty of tension in the air, while bringing a huge dose of the unexpected – and so the supernatural adventure begins.
Another fun read!
Looking forward to Book #3!

Thank you, C.A King!

This installment has a ton of HP vibes, especially with the flying car and the competition among the schools. I enjoyed the story and the character development. You get to know more about the main cast of characters in this book, which was interesting. I particularly liked the scenes with the helper/familiars and the addition to that group.
As with the first book, I liked that the author doesn’t put in a bunch of fluff. The story is right to the point with no unnecessary detours.
Quick read. Excellent follow up to the first book.

I love this author for all they create and write, I have been reading books by them for quite some time now. This book installment in this specific series, was one I could not wait for! It was very much worth the wait!

I loved the first one with the paranormal aurora, the characters, and everything to do with the academy! This one I loved just as much. It was so awesome reading about MaKayla again and her friends, with studies and games to participate in, as well, as something less than kind is lurking in the academy walls. The book gave a lot of action, suspense, as well as intrigue. I couldn’t put this down, I was constantly wanting to know what would follow! I have always admired this author’s writing style, and how they bring the story to life. No confusion, everything makes sense and comes together well! Great installment to the series! Loved it!

Great addition to the series, and I cannot wait to see what will happen next! This series as well as author, does not disappoint! Very much recommend this book, series, and author! Must read on all accounts!

Gravediggers actually do the digging. Grave Diggers, however, keep buried bodies where they belong—six feet under.

It’s Makayla’s second year in the paranormal academy system, and she isn’t returning alone. No one made the honour roll last semester, and the coveted transfer position was withheld. It’s a good thing, too—GDA needs participants for the inter-academy face off. A win could bring back prestige and funding the institution so desperately needs. A loss, however, would close its doors forever.

This year’s students are about to learn there’s more to their Academy than meets the eye. Something isn’t right about the competition. It smells of the rot and decay only a freshly unearthed corpse could cause. Lucky for them, death is right up their alley.

About C.A. King

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.
