This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy Series and I loved this one even more than the last! Makayla is now in her second year at the Grave Digger Academy, but somehow the beginning of the school year throws a lot of curveballs at her. With plenty of mischief, friends, drama, and surprises, there’s no way this year will be boring. I flew through this book so quickly because I was not going to be interrupted! There is definitely something weird about the school this year, but will they be able to figure it out and stay safe? I highly recommend this series, but I would start with book one so that you can get the full backstory!

King – Review by Shannen Kern
This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy series. I would recommend reading the first before starting this one. Following on from the previous book, Makayla returns to school to news of the inter-academy competition bringing with is more problems for Makayla and her friends. This is a short but fun read nonetheless. I enjoyed finding out more about the way the academies run e.g., funding, as this added a little extra to the story and made for an interesting storyline. I was happy to reconnect with old characters and find out more about them as they develop throughout the competition. As with the first book, I only wish it had been longer. But the author has done a good job and I am sure I will enjoy the next book in the series.

Grave Digger Academy II is Makayla’s second year at Grave Digger Academy. This time there is a competition among all the academies. Makayla’s brothers are hoping to beat her school. This book is extremely easy to read. I loved Makayla’s new helper in this tale. I would recommend it for those in middle school but can be enjoyed at older ages as well. I look forward to reading the next part of the series.

Year 2 and the trouble continues. Makayla is back and finds herself find up for the inter-academy games. Oh man, the pressure keeps adding on and they haven’t even taught them magic yet. No one from the previous year was allowed to transfer so everyone is back. I love this series. You have the home drama with Mom and her lies, and her brothers. You have Professor Woolsey and the Aegis Stones. You have Griffin who noone can seem to remember. So many little subplots, yet they still go so well together. It’s like a paranormal version of Harry Potter, only darker. I love the entertaining characters. Who can you trust? Twists and turns and Crones, oh my. On to book 3.

Year two at the Grave Digger Academy. What will happen this year? Makayla has a huge rivalry with her two brothers that go to a different academy. She is treated like the black sheep of the family for having to go to Grave Digger Academy. Once she is back at school, she finds out that a competition will involve several 2nd year students whether they want to compete or not. The students are to get treasures using magic back to their academy. I loved the twists and turns and how the competition ended. Trust is hard to give to another. Did Makayla’s trust get broken? Read this second book of the Grave Diggers Academy to find out.

Ahhh! We are BACK for the sequel. I really enjoyed this one! I love Makayla- and seeing how she was ostracized from her family was interesting. I was wondering how they would react to her being in the Grave Digger Academy. The inter-academy face off was a fun addition to the series. I enjoyed seeing how much Makayla has grown between the first book to now. I’m also kind of glad no one was transferred out of the school to another one- just because I really love the secondary characters in this series. Makayla is GREAT but they are all so funny! There was so much development in this book that really made me excited for the next in the series. Also how did I just realize this author also wrote Evil Sushi? <- one of the best reads I’ve read in awhile!!!

This book was fantastic! This is the second book in the series and takes us deeper into Makayla’s life while attending The Grave Digger Academy. This paranormal series is one that gets you to really sink your teeth in. This year during school, there is a competition. One that the school could use the win to make the school better. If they were to lose, the academy could be shut down. Makayla is on guard, there is someone who wants to take her down. Will she pull off the win or will her academy be closed for good?

Totally loved the first book and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. This author has been added to my favourites and I can’t wait for the next instalment.
Some of my unresolved questions were answered in this book and whilst you could read without having read book 1; I would highly recommend reading book 1 first.

Grave Digger II is a fun and fast-paced book. C.A. King does an excellent job not only giving lots of information about Makayla and the others but making it very easy to visualize what the academy is like. It’s a YA paranormal novel, but I think readers of many ages will absolutely enjoy reading about Makayla’s second year at the academy.
As someone who has six siblings, I enjoyed the bantering between Makayla and her siblings. Even though they go to different schools and compete, her brother stands up for her when it comes to others messing with his sister. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us in the third book in this series.

I enjoyed this book. Makayl’s second year at the Grave Digger Academy proved to be just as adventurous as her first year. I loved watching all of the students grow in their magic. I have read other books by this author and I have enjoyed them all. This series is really good and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal stories.

Gahh!! The gang is back together!! Book one of the Grave Digger Academy Series was pretty great and what compelled me to continue on with the series. I LOVE a good series! The author did amazing in book two just as well as book one. You may very well read this book as a standalone, but would you really want to though??! Really glad I gave this series a read. Loved the characters, and loved the continued story from book one. I enjoy this authors writing so!! Most certainly looking forward to the next book in the series!!

King- Review by Samantha Snow
Makayla is back for year two at the Grave Digger Academy, she spent the end of last year segregated from her friends and dealing with all the snide remarks and open stares alone was tough, it wasn’t any easier when she was at home for the break, her brothers taunted her and her parents pretty much ignored the fact that she wouldn’t be changing Academies, nobody would be, the transfer position was withheld completely, so when she returns to the Academy, she is pleasantly surprised when her friends come up to see her at the entrance.
As the new year starts, the usual rules and regulations are set out, but before she can unpack, Makayla is summoned to the head mistresses office, she is expecting the usual warnings and being told to stay out of mischief, but what she doesn’t expect is to be thrown into the team for the inter academy face off this year, but then again, between the choice of that with her freedoms returned, or the Academy becoming a jail with a full complement of guards, Makayla knows which choice she will make.
The face off is between all the paranormal academies and the winners receive prestige and funding, both of which the Grave Digger Academy desperately needs, but they never seem to make the cut, they are hoping that this year will be different. The new year two teachers are introduced and classes are well underway when the team for the inter academy face off are chosen, it just so happens that Makayla’s friends are chosen to join in as well, but not knowing what they will come up against, they can’t really plan much, but Makayla has plans of her own.
When the Games roll around and the Academies players are in place, something seems wrong, it smells of rot and death and all journeys lead to the same place, no matter who travels or where they were originally heading and Makayla knows that this spells bad luck, but how bad could it get? In a world where mythical creatures and monsters abide and the Grave Diggers are the only ones holding them at bay, what new dangers lie in store for the group as secrets are revealed and truths realised in this fantasy adventure which will keep you on your toes throughout.

This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy series, and you definitely need to read the first book to know what is happening in this one. It picks up where book 1 left off.
I enjoyed this story, but it felt rushed. The timeline was a a bit confusing as there are jumps in time that are not clearly explained, especially at the beginning. As it got closer to the end, it improved and things made more sense. I still wish we got more of a sense of the day-to-day routine of the school and got more insight into other characters.
I enjoyed the inter-academy games, and adored the squirrel antics!

Once again the Gave Digger Academy is full of adventure and shenanigans.
It’s Makayla’s second year attending the Grave Diggers Academy and they need participants for the inter-academy games. Win or lose, they are in for more than expected!

This is another fantastic read by the author. Grave Digger Academy II is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy Series. This series keeps getting better and better.
Makayla is back for her second year at Grave Digger Academy. This year she is participating in the school games and will be going up against her brothers. This year is difficult and perhaps may be her last. The quote I chose for Makayla is: “Please do. Woolly frightens me. He’s stronger than last year and more desperate. I’m lucky to be alive.”

This was a great sequel! It picks up where the first one ended, so you will definitely want to read these in order. I was excited reading the second one because I wanted the story to pick up a bit more and I wasn’t disappointed! Some of the things that left me confused in Book one were answered so I did enjoy this one a bit more because of that. I’m really enjoying this series so far and can’t wait to read the 3rd installment!

Grave Digger Academy II is the second book in the series, and sees Makayla return to the school no one really wants to be at for another year. This series is best enjoyed in order, so do start with the first book! It’s perfect for YA and teen readers who enjoy the magic school trope. In this book, Makayla and her classmates have to dig deep for whatever enthusiasm and affection they can summon for their school in order to succeed in the Inter-Academy Games. They had all hoped that by the start of their second year they would have transferred to pretty much any other school and now they have to prove themselves against the students who got into those schools in the first place. This is an exiting continuation of the series! Makayla has a lot to learn, and there are plenty of mysteries to unravel. Makayla is still coming to terms with what she’s learnt about her family history, and trying to get more information to help her understand this past and how it impacts her. It was good to see some more of Makayla’s brothers in this book! Caz and Tye are interesting characters, and it’s fun to get more family moments. This book gets five stars from me. It’s an enjoyable series, I’d definitely recommend it!

I am immediately going back now to start book 1, this was such a good, fun and interesting book.
MaKayla is going into her second year at Grave Digger Academy, and like her, no one was able to transfer out. The inter-academy games are this year and the Academy HAS to win to keep their doors open, so it’s probably better to already know each other. The games start and it becomes obvious quickly that something strange is happening. (As I have not yet read book 1, a lot felt a bit strange but it was all very interesting and fun)
Very cool writing, very cool read, and I’m looking forward both to year three as well as learning a bit more about the characters in book 1!

I love that the Dedication is the same! The amazing world building continues into this installment. And the character building is even better. I really appreciated that now that we know Makayla, the author focused on fleshing out Caz and Tye more. It’s nice to have Makayla actually interacting with her brothers (and of course her friends). I immediately bought the third installment and pre-ordered the fourth. I cannot wait to dive into this wonderful and dangerous world even further!

I have read a few books from this author and I absolutely love her writing style. She captures you in the story right from the beginning. This is the second book to the very addictive series called the grave diggers academy. You should read the first book because it begins when the first book ends. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started reading it immediately. I wish that one day this would be a tv show. I can’t wait to read the next book.
MaKayla is ready for her second year of grave diggers academy. She is so excited to see what this year will bring. Makayla is called into the headmistress’ office to talk and she is told that she has to help the school out. Makayla and her friends are having to compete in the intra academy face off. They are going to have to compete with the other schools and if they lose her school will be closed down for good. Will Makayla and her friends have the power to beat the other schools or will it be the end to the grave diggers academy?

This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy series by C.A. King. Makayla and her friends are back at the academy. She’s hoping this year things will be a bit more normal, but it sure doesn’t start off that way! A portal that shouldn’t work, an inter-academy competition, and more stones being revealed…not a simple year once again. I love her character and I’m glad that more questions are being answered from book 1. I would definitely read the first book before getting in to this one. I’m hooked and excited for book 3!

It’s the start of Makayla’s second year at the Grave Digger Academy. A big announcement is made that affects the entire school. With budgets being tight, every student will have to compete in the Inter-Academy competition in order for their school to stand a chance to stay open. Makayla was hoping this would be an easy year but she soon finds out that it won’t be. Can she survive this second year of school? Will the Grave Digger Academy be able to make a good showing and keep the school open?
This was a fun, quick read continuing on with Makayala’s story. While this is a book that focuses on supernatural beings, it also includes a lot of humor. I found myself laughing out loud several times while reading this book!

Makayla and the crew are back for their second year at Grave Digger Academy.
This book picks up where the first one left off…so you need to read the first one in order to not be lost.
From the beginning of this book, there is still mystery around why Makayla is at the school…and why she can do things that others her year should not be able to! This year, her and her friends must participate in the inter-academy games. A win would bring funding to the school…but a loss could mean their doors close forever. If that happens, who will make sure the dead stay where they are supposed to? And…how will Makayla respond to having to go up against her brothers in the games?
I am really enjoying this series and Makayla and her group make me laugh along the way. Makayla is stronger than she realizes and I love that she is not afraid to go against the grain to figure things out. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book!

I loved the first book and moved on to this one with high hopes. It didn’t disappoint. Makayla is back in year two at the Grave Digger Academy. This years competition is more important than ever as a win means the academy remains open and a loss means the doors of the school will close. But more importantly the competition seems to have been rigged and the plot thickens as more Aegis stones surface. The characters are lovable, well developed and have great interactions. The storyline is amazing and makes for a great read. I can’t wait to read book 3.

Grave Digger Academy is not the place anyone wants to end up. Last year did not go well and they need to win the inter-academy competition to keep the academy open. Makayla and her friends need to win, but something is wrong with the competition. This book was a quick enjoyable read.

We are now into year 2 of Grave Digger Academy for Makayla. Her family finally treats her like herself again after they hear what her mother has been hiding. She knows the academy is keeping her there since they know her ancestry, so she’s going to make this school the best it can be for her. There are academy competitions coming up against all the other schools, so no one was transferred as they need all the bodies they can get. She’s with her friends, and they go through a lot more together in year 2! Give this series a shot!

Sometimes second books in a series don’t live up to the quality of the first book, but I thought the author did a good job making the transition feel smooth. I thought the second book was just as enjoyable as the first. It was nice to already have an understanding of the main characters and basic plot, but getting to see the growth into the second year was interesting. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Overall this is a story that really picked up towards the end. The beginning is slower and at times confusing about what is going on. It just did not seem to flow well in the beginning or middle. It really picked up and made more sense towards the ending. I feel this storyline (which is truly different) has a lot of places it could go and intriguing characters that could be built upon. I liked the ideas of getting to the school the games and the other kids attitudes. The familiars are cute and the squirrel idea..fantastic.
