The Queen's Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance (Heart & Hand Series Book 2)The Queen’s Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had not read the first book and while this definitely is a standalone story, I absolutely had to go read book 1 as this is an incredible series and I didn’t want to miss anything. I love how detailed the author is with the storyline and descriptions, she paints a vivid story that makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. She has a wide variety of characters, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming keeping track of who is who. I loved the relationship between Claire and Trian, Claire is trying so hard to keep him at arm’s length and Trian is doing everything he can to get her to notice him, without being obvious. Seeing the characters grow and develop, both together and separately was really well done. I loved the mix of the fantasy mixed in with romance, definitely made it a fun read!

The Queen's Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance (Heart & Hand Series Book 2)The Queen’s Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lady Claire of Chevlain is a young woman who harbours a secret, a curse which impacts heavily on her life and as such, she has struggled to mind a match, however, she does have plenty of options for an arranged marriage. Unfortunately for Claire, her curse is the ability to see the future of those who come into direct contact with her, but the following fatigue and the visions themselves leave her exhausted, especially when they are not the positive kind and so she keeps this ability under wraps.

Trian is a member of the Royal Guard and is very good at his job, but he also harbours a secret, it is Claire, from the first time he met her, he fell hard, even if she has no idea, but he embraces any chance he gets to spend with her. He is also the younger son of a popular family and so needs to pursue his marriage match, especially when it is made clear he has a time limit to convince her to marry him before someone else is arranged for him.

One day, Claire is travelling across the Kingdom to her home of Chevlain and Trian is elated when he is chosen to accompany her as her personal guard and this is where their friendship begins. As they spend more time together, they learn a lot, both factual and familial and the more time that they spend together, the closer they become, especially when Claire discovers that her visions are quiet when he is around and this is a godsend.

Unfortunately for the two, just as they are falling further for each other, their group is attacked and Trian is badly injured, the motive for the attack becomes clear when Claire is kidnapped and taken to the rival land of Nifolhad. As she is kept captive, the only people she can rely on are the women of the Fenhri Temple as they hold information and teachings that Claire is supremely interested in, as well as thoughts of Trian. Will she be able to escape the court intrigue and dangers which surround her in this opposing court to her own, or will she escape and return to her homeland and hopefully her love waiting for her? This is an epic fantasy with a romantic undertone where emotions run high, intrigue abounds and life is complicated as you follow the lives of those within this fantastical tale.

This book makes a magnificent second installment of the Heart & Hand Series! The first book in the series was wonderful and yet somehow, the author surpassed themselves with this continuation. It is the perfect fantasy romance with Lady Claire and Trian as our main characters. Lady Claire is such a strong, intelligent female lead that goes through multiple trials and tribulations as she develops into someone I admire! Trian has inevitably fallen in the deepest love with her, but will he be able to break through the walls she has put up? I highly recommend picking up the first book in the series before starting this one. If you love the fantasy romance genre, this is right up your alley! I am beyond excited to pick up the next book in the series. Don’t pass this one up!

This is the second book of the series. I definitely want to read the first book. In this book it’s more focused on Claire and Trian. Claire was cursed and because of it she doesn’t want to love another. Trian is a guard assigned to her and falls deeply for her. Can she risk everything?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Read the previous book in series, Wild Lavender, and was taken aback by all the fantasy, adventure and romance intertwined that I wanted to continue to read the next story in the series. This story focuses on another set of characters, Trian and Claire. Claire hides a part of herself and swears to never give her heart away. Trian is able to go beyond her limits and start an amicable relationship. He ends up being a mentor to Claire in the healing arts as the feelings draw them closer to one another. Unfortunately dealing with Trian has led Claire in dire straits and she is taken away to Nifolhad. She must now build her own defenses and strength to make it back home and to Trian. I loved getting to know the other characters and their background stories as well as how their journey spans out. I also loved learning about this world in which the characters live in and set up for what can be the next book in series.

Allow yourself to get swept up in this great read!! It’s obvious that a lot of time and attention to detail have gone into writing this epic fantasy read. There is a play on words in the title, even though it’s not to a depth that I would have thought. There is mystery, intrigue, lore, and of course, romance to keep you captivated from the first to last words!

This is the second book in a series. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend going back and reading the first book as well!

The Queen's Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance (Heart & Hand Series Book 2)The Queen’s Dance: A Sizzling Slow Burn Fantasy Romance by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book of the Heart & Hand series. Although it is set shortly after the first book, it could technically be read as a stand alone. The first book was about Lady Anna and Lark’s love story. This time around, it’s focused on Anna’s sister Claire and her love interest Trian. There is mention of things that had previously happened so it would be easier if you read the books in order but is not necessary.

Claire has the gift of foresight. She thinks it’s a curse since she can’t control when a vision happens. She keeps it locked up tightly. After the loss of her home and parents, Claire decides to put her heart on lockdown. Vowing to never fall in love in fear of losing another loved one.

Trian is assigned to escort Lady Claire and as time goes on they start bonding. Claire teaches Trian about different plants and their uses while Trian teaches Claire how to adapt and survive no matter where she is.

One day, Claire is kidnapped and she has to take all of the lessons taught to make her way back home. She presumed that Trian is dead so she no longer cares about how she looks and starts using her gift to her advantage with the help of women who have similar powers. She will do anything to get home to her sister.

I loved Anna in the first book and I love her sister just as much. They are so similar yet so different. Claire is strong, witty, cunning, intelligent and beautiful. Trian is brave, strong, shy, and caring. I like how the author wrote their relationship slowly developing instead of “boom! We are in love” like a lot of romances tend to do. I feel like this book was a lot more action filled compared to the first and I loved it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again the mystical world of Aurelia came vividly to life in this epic, sizzling slow burn fantasy romance. I was gripped by book one so would personally recommend reading it first, however this can be read as a standalone story. Lady Claire has a secret, that she can ‘foretell another’s fate’. Claire is determined to never fall in love due to this curse. Then she meets Trian, a shy nobleman assigned by King Godwin to escort her across the realm. When Claire discovers he is immune to her powers a friendship develops. Claire then finds herself falling in love, however, her fears come true when Trian is attacked. Claire is taken to the dark kingdom of Nifolhad by assassin’s. In order to survive and with hopes of returning to Aurelia Claire ally’s herself with the mystical women of the Fenrhi Temple. She soon finds herself in the middle of the battle for Nifolhad’s throne, but help then comes from unexpected places. To return to her home and to her loved ones she must embrace her curse and think of it as a gift. The descriptive narrative brings both the characters and setting to life making me feel immersed in the story. The epic storyline and exciting plot twists had me gripped throughout. Whilst the slow burn romance between Claire and Trian kept me happily turning the pages. I look forward to book three!

The Queen’s Dance (Heart & Hand Series Book 2) by Nicole E. Kelleher a great fantasy romance

The most intelligent member of the queen’s entourage, Lady Claire, is also the most secretive of them all. Her power to predict the future of others could fundamentally alter Aurelia. She swears never to give away her heart because her curse has only caused her grief. The timid nobleman Trian has fallen deeply in love with Claire, and he seizes the opportunity to finally make an impression when King Godwin sends him to escort her around the realm. Claire learns that Trian might be the only person resistant to her abilities, and he imparts to her his special perspective on the world. As their friendship grows, Claire breaks her own vow and falls in love.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings us into their world. I couldn’t put the book down.

This is the second book in the series. This author really knows how to world build. Sometimes when an author weaves a story that is so unique, you kind of get lost as to what is going on. That is not true here. Nicole E Kelleher is a fantastic story teller and is amazing at getting you invested with the details of her story and her world. I loved the romance, the banter and the twists. There’s nothing like a good paranormal book in my opinion and this fits that totally!

The Author continues to describe and build the world of Aurelia with such colour and clarity that you feel as if you are there. The characters continue to grow and their relationships blossom. Claire continues to hide her heart but Trian starts to share how he sees the world and Claire shares her healing ability they continue to learn from each other, but as always there is danger and they are separated. It is a long and arduous battle to get back to those she loves.
This is certainly one of these books that you cannot put down, Love, hope, heartbreak, despair, mix these with fantasy romance and you have an amazing book.

The Queen’s Dance is Book 2 in the Heart & Hand Series and I love how the Nicole tells this story of fantasy romance, adventure and magic and mix in just the connection and angst I feel with the characters. Overall this is a enjoyable story and although this story could be read as a stand-alone, I do recommend reading this series from the beginning. With this story of Trian and Claire really gave my heart a roller-coaster of emotions. Claire is strong and put to the test while guarding her heart. What she did not forsee if to fall in love…with Trian. When trouble arises, will Claire be able to overcome all obstacles…

I really enjoyed this story and I do highly recommend picking up this book. Wonderful fantasy romance…..I cannot wait to read book 3.

This is the second book in the Heart and Hand series and is a brilliant addition to the series. From the first book, I knew to expect strong characters and a unique story but this book really surprised me with just how true that was. I loved Lady Claire and the whole journey she goes through. So much seems to be stacked against her and to see her fight against it all was amazing.
The connection between her and Trian was so captivating. It was not a typical start for them and so much seemed to stand in their way. I couldn’t wait to see how everything – characters and story – would turn out in the end. I was not disappointed.

This is book two of a fantasy romance. This story involves lady Claire and her love Trian
Lady Claire has a unique ability of being able to tell the future of others. These vision episodes are triggered by touching other people and sometimes land her passed out on the floor which is rather embarrassing for her family so she wasn’t often in court and was stressed the entire time she was. She is looking forward to finally going home after supporting her sister when she ends up kidnapped as they thought she was her sister.
Caught in a foreign country and trying to get free her kidnappers realize her abilities and seek to use them to their own advantage. Claire must overcome so many things and stand up, be strong, overcome plots and intrigue and outsmart everyone around her so she can get free and back to the one she loves. Claire really grows as a character in this story and makes her a heroine you can’t help but fall in love with.
This book is well done with intricate details, well developed characters and a heroine to root for. I definitely stayed up late reading this one!!

This is the second book in the Heart and Hand Series. I have to admit I was captivated by these characters from the start. This author does an incredible job of weaving a tale of romance, adventure, danger, magic, revenge and everything in between. Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until the end.
I would recommend reading these books in order as they do follow on and to get a complete understanding of the politics that are at play you would need the background from the first book.

The main characters in this story are Train and Claire. Their connection is instant and they want so much to be together, but kidnap plots, an attack on Train which leaves him for dead (or is he) and the customs of Trains family and upbringing are the small things keeping them apart.
Can they work their way through all of the obstacles against them in the hope for a happy future or will forces against them prove too much for them to overcome.

I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one. The stories are so captivating that I completely lose myself in them and their characters. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

The Queen’s Dance (Heart & Hand Series Book 2) by Nicole E. Kelleher. This is a awesome fantasy romance that politics, history, wildlife, topography and much more in it. This is the story of Claire younger sister of Anna who is not giving her heart away easily. Even though she has been guarding her heart she does fall in love with Trian. Claire is a strong woman and when tragedy strikes we find out exactly how strong she is. While the story focuses on Trian and Claire it tells their story separately as well. Trian is so in love with Claire and he helps her learn the ways of his people. With different traditions and rules Claire is trying to learn as much as she can but she is focused on getting back home. In this story, Claire has decided to guard her heart but soon finds love. As tragedy unfolds, Claire has to adapt and evolve to survive. If possible, I enjoyed this book more than the first. The author’s amazing world-building and well-written characters stand front and center. You experience such an array of emotions just in the book’s first quarter. I loved seeing old characters return and their growth. There is as much adventure as the first. The romance is fabulous and the dialogue is witty and has good humor. You find yourself hooked quite easily. I look forward to the third book.

This book was just what my poor over romanced genre self needed. I love that it was a slow burn. I do not often read these and I might have to rethink that as this was so good. I love how there was adventure and drama mixed in and that it wasn’t an in your face oversexed read. Don’t get me wrong I do love those but sometimes a girl needs one that just has a huge build up and a happy ending to boot. I love how the author is able to bring the characters to life. I felt as though I was right there in the adventure with them. Definitely a good second book from this series. I cannot wait to see how the series will continue and play out.

What an epic fantasy tale The Queen’s Dance has turned out to be. The magical realm of Aurelia and neighbouring kingdoms come to life under Nicoles clever worldbuilding. This book brings about a more mystical element as Clare learns that a curse may just be a gift. But she has many trials ahead of her. Will she get back to the man she loves.
There is fear, loathing, angst, hope, heartache, heartbreak, passion, courage, and a lot more. It is a historical romance tale with paranormal elements, and I found I was drawn into this medieval story more and more as the clever plotting and trials and tribulations unfolded.
There is political intrigue, survival, plants, lore, magic and coming into one’s own. Discovering what could truly be.
If you like epic fantasy romances, then this book is for you.

The Queen’s Dance is the second book in the Heart & Hand series by Nicole E. Kelleher. It is a very original fantasy with romance, magic, adventure, action, chemistry, spice, challenges, dramatic developments, fate, tension, intensity, high stakes, culture, politics, emotion, banter, and humour.
This expands on what we started in Book #1- but this time the story focuses on Claire and Trian. These characters were so easy to connect with- which made me completely invested in them and the outcome of the story. Again, as with the first book, Ms. Kelleher weaves a story full of clever and creative touches, not only is her world-building on point, but she also created an original lore around which she constructed her story. Another angsty adventure that pulled me in and kept me engaged the whole way through.
Looking forward to Book #3.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Nicole E. Kelleher!

Book 1, Wild Lavender hooked me. I had to know more and see what would happen with Claire. Book 2, this book. Most definitely didn’t see the plot twist. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions from chuckling at some of the banter to my heart racing at times. The journey that Claire had to endure and become stronger from it was heart breaking and hopeful. Not to mention that she still had and won the heart of her beloved. Truly masterfully written and beautifully done. Definitely recommend reading.

To save a kingdom, she must embrace her curse or sacrifice everything.
Lady Claire is the brightest addition to the queen’s retinue, but she hides a secret that could change the fabric of Aurelia: the ability to foretell another’s fate. Her curse has only brought her sorrow, and because of it, she vows never to give away her heart.
Trian, a shy nobleman, has fallen hard for Claire, and when King Godwin assigns him to escort her across the realm, he grabs at the chance to finally make an impression.
Claire discovers that he may be the one person who is immune to her powers, and Trian teaches her his unique way of seeing the world. Friendship takes hold, and Claire breaks her own promise—she falls in love.
Her greatest fear is realized when Trian is knocked down by deadly quarrels. The assassins transport Claire far from Aurelia to the foreign lands of Nifolhad, a dark kingdom of whispers and spies. To survive, she must ally herself with the mystical women of the Fenrhi Temple. Their customs and secrets seduce her and drag her into the very heart of the battle for Nifolhad’s throne.
But help comes from unexpected places, and if Claire ever hopes to return to Aurelia and to those she loves, she must finally embrace her curse as a gift.
The Queen’s Dance, Book Two of the Heart & Hand Series, is an epic slow-burn fantasy romance. It can be read as a stand-alone novel, but be warned, you’ll want to go back and read book one!

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand Series Book 1) by Nicole E. Kelleher – Review by CHARLENE GONZALEZ

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand, #1)Wild Lavender by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The author Nicole Kelleher did an amazing job with the plots, characters, and the world building. I love how this story took me slowly into the charm of the characters where Larkin is chasing the impossible love of Lady Aubrianne.

This book is amazing from start to finish, I can’t wait to read her other books as well.
