Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) by Liza Snow – Review by Heather Watson

ObedienceObedience by Liza Snow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first time reading this author. I was glad it was a little longer read then im used to. I don’t really follow student teacher stories and really don’t get into circus stories at all. This story was a good read if you like dark romance that involves things like that. Cassandra & Chandler’s is easy to follow so this author wrote this story well. I would pick this book up and read it you won’t be disappointed.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This the third book by Susan Specht Oram. These are standalone books, but it is nice to read them in order. This book was hard to believe with Miranda. It was hard following the storyline but the character building was a good and well written. I hope that she gets better at writing because I want to read more from her.

This novella brought these two worlds together which was nice. Fae and vampire was a good suit for these characters. I want to read the rest of the novellas by her.

This book is a full collection of poems as well as the background is colorful and full of designs. I am not a big fan of the poetry thing but I did read this one.

This the second novel by Susan Specht Oram that I have read, and I was just intrigued as the first. I wish it was a little longer because it comes off to clean. A stand-alone novel has you wanting more. I will be picking up the rest of novels to see what see does next. You never know who is going to show up in this book to see what they are going to do. The author does well bringing these characters to live and I wanted to read more to get the feel for them. I hope this author keeps getting better.

Shadow Wolf (Protector Wolf Shifter Series Book 1)Shadow Wolf by Lilliana Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is first by Lillian Rose and it was a shapeshifter book I have read in a while. Tamaska and Kodiak is love at first site. Kodiak is there to protect her and the gem, but can he do both? The book was a little slow at first but it did pick up. I was scared that it was going to be like Twilight, but it turned out different. I am ready to keep reading this author to see where she ends up.

This the first book by Nadija Mujagic I have read, and I was a little disappointed. I was expecting to get my feet knocked off. I can see a lot of potential with this book. It is a good coming of age story and I saw some twist and turns. I was reading to see what was going to happen next. I enjoyed reading this story but just wish it flowed better.

Shadow (Devil's Handmaidens MC-Book Two)Shadow by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second installment of Devil’s Handmaids MC and I have to tell you that D.M. Earl did it again. This book could stand alone but you really need to read the first one to get the feeling of the characters. Even though this book focuses on Shadow and her issues with the pedophile ring. She is the enforcer at the club and gives you more insight on Shadow. I can’t wait to keep reading this series to see what happens next.

Whispers in the Waters (Blood of the Fae, #0.5)Whispers in the Waters by Sarah Chislon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This the first novella I have read by Sara Chislon. I was not disappointed with this one. In this novella the world building and character building was well written. You will get to see what Jessa has started and what is to come in the upcoming story. This novella takes you back to another world with the Victoriana times wording but not so much you can’t understand it. I can’t wait gto see where this author goes with this story.

Class ClownClass Clown by Allan Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m not sure why I picked this book because the cover art was of a chess board and I don’t really follow chess. I knew it had to have some kind of clowns in it from the title. I was intrigued by this one. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I had to keep reading to see what this girl was going to intel. Abbey goes to extensive ends to give you all you hope for in a book. If you scare easy by clowns I wouldn’t read this one.

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising, #2)The Daredevil by Nadia Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A new author for me and she didn’t disappoint. Nadia Han paid close attention to details with this one. If you want a romance book this one is for you. I read right through this one (even though I read the first book). To get a better feel of the characters I would read them in order. I enjoyed the story line of Royce and Michelle. Though the flashbacks kind of slowed the story down. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 1) by G.K. Brady – Review by Heather Watson

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers, #1)Taming Beckett by G.K. Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first book by G.K. Brady and I’m not one for hockey, but this was a good book. I had to keep reading to find out what Paige was going to do. I love the way the characters developed in this story. The author really kept you instead in the story by the way she wrote the world around it. Everything going on around them it was fait that finally kicked in. Beckett had his world turned upside down and Paige was there to pick up the pieces. When Paige thought, her world was coming to an end Beckett was there. I will get the rest of the books to this series to keep reading about the romances that the author puts in front of us.

Murder on Oak Street ( A South Shore Mystery Book 1) by I.M. Foster – Review by Heather Watson

Murder on oak streetMurder on oak street by I. M. Foster

This is the first murder mystery book that I have ever read. I was surprised by the murder I was following. I had thought it was the one I started off reading then the story took a turn, and it ended up connected. I surprised myself by being able to read this one because of the old writing but I pushed through it. I wanted to see who really committed the murder then I couldn’t put it down. If you are ready for a murder mystery then this is the book for you, I really hope the author gives us more to the story to find out about the love stories that are brewing.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was so glad that I picked up this book by C. B. Samet. I can’t wait to read the other two books that go with Raine Down. The author put both action and love story all in one with this one. I like how the author pulled me into this story from the beginning. I hope the next book has the story of Will and Raine in it as well as the other characters so I can see where this story is going to go. I love the take this author has on Norse Mythology and how it is written. I will definitely be picking up the other stories by this author.

And Then She FellAnd Then She Fell by Dreena Collins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I haven’t read anything by Dreena Collins before and this was a different book then I’m used to. The author choices to the audience to write to. I wasn’t used to this, and it was a little weird at first but as the book went on, I understood why she used this tactic. I really liked this story by Dreena Collins, and I will be looking for more books by her and I hope that she uses the audience as she did in this one. I wanted to see what Susie really did to fall. I had to keep reading until the end to find out. This is an author I will definitely be keeping an eye out for.

Defiant Princess (Mafia Elite Prequel)Defiant Princess by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a good book to go along with the series that Amy McKinley has written. She doesn’t disappoint. I would read the other books to know where the girls are in their lives. The girls are leading their lives in college and are staying with each other. They aren’t going to know how to live without each other, but they really won’t have to once they make the packed. I cannot wait until the next installment to see what happens in this book. This one leaves you with a cliffhanger for sure.

Shadow and Crystal Thorns (Fae and Crystal Thorns Book 2) by Kay L. Moody – Review by Heather Watson

Shadow and Crystal Thorns (Fae and Crystal Thorns, #2)Shadow and Crystal Thorns by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would read the first book of this series first but read these books by Kay L. Moon. This book picked right where the last one left off. I was happy to get this book so I could see where Chole’s story was going lead. After reading this book it was good to see that she is still her old self but has grown. There is a love story inside this action-packed world. The first book is world building, and the second book builds off that world but really adds to the characters. I love how the characters will surprise you. I’m ready for the next installment to see where this story goes.

Defying Ella (True Platinum Series Book 4) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Heather Watson

Defying EllaDefying Ella by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first time reading this author and I am so glad I did. Defying Ella is a part of a series but stands alone. Ella and Jared’s Hate /Love relationship is a good read. I could hardly put it down. The story has a little slow start building the characters, but it won’t take long to get going. The way the author writes these characters and how much they don’t like each other is very well done. I don’t want to give away too much, but I will tell my friends about this one. I am going to get the rest of the series to read them.

Burn (Elemental Warriors Book 1) by Joanna Morgan – Review by Heather Watson

Burn (Elemental Warriors, #1)Burn by Joanna Morgan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book by Joanna Morgan I have read, and I enjoyed the story of Levi and Brooke. Even though this book has a slow start it is worth it to keep reading. This novel is written in a unique paranormal way with Levi sensing the sleepers. Brooke learns of a new whole new world than she used to. The author does a good job of building up the scene but does spend a lot of time giving details but other times it seemed to be rushed. I am looking forward to seeing where this story leads me so bring on book two. I’m ready to get more.

This supernatural world that she has created and the mysteries she leaves you guessing. Ava, Nadia, and Lucas work well together and that shows that the writer wrote the characters well. Reyes set up the scenery as well as the drama around these characters. I am ready to read the more by this author.

Wicked Treasure (The Charm Collector, #2)Wicked Treasure by Melissa Erin Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had aa little trouble getting into this book. I wish I had read the first one so I could better understand this novel. It has a lot of drama and fantasy creatures in it which is right my ally. This novel shows a lot of friendship and what one will do for loyalty, Melissa does well with the writing the two different stories, Kayda’s and Harlow’s point of view gives you a better understanding of both characters. Get ready for adventures reading this novel. I would read these in order to better understand what is going on but great read.

This is the first-time reading M. K. Harkins, and I was a little worried at first. The whole Cinderella story line wasn’t my favorite. I was glad to keep reading past that. Even though it had the same line it had a lot of twist and turns. I would really love to hear Harry’s song to Ashley. I liked all the details in this story. The hint of things going on this book were not telling but they all come together in the end. Ashley and Harry’s story can’t end here and I am ready to read more by this author.

This is the first time reading this author and I was glad I picked it up. The Lie that Binds is a well written YA novel. The characters are well written, and I like the change of point of views. This gives the novel a better perspective. It gives you high school drama as well as a lie that needs to be protected. If you like YA will like this story of Holly and Nathan. I will be looking for and reading more from Amy Argent.

I have to say this is this the first time reading this author. I wish I had the first installment of this series, with that said I still jumped into this book and really enjoyed it. This author created a world that was understandable without reading the first book. It was easy to fall in love with these characters. Mia is a well-developed character, and one of the best female main characters I’ve read. Castor being put in Mia’s world adds to the twists and turns in this book. I will be going back and reading the first book as well as other books to come from this author.

This is the first-time reading, Lang Johnson; Devil’s Breath is a great read. Sera and Cassius have a love story that you aren’t sure how it’s going to end. Sera is a strong female main character. She is strong, sexy, and an assassin to top it off. Cassius is a rich smart man. He is a strong male character to match Sera. If you are looking for a great romantic action-packed thriller this is the book for you. I can’t wait to see what Lang Johnson puts out next.
