Zachary, a rich entrepreneur who has a very diverse portfolio, Ashton who is strong in business but quiet in her love life create an unconventional romance. The story was really great and the character development was strong. The writing in this book truly had you feel their instant attraction but especially the care that Zachary has for Ashton as she delves into the world of BDSM. The ending definitely left you wanting for the next book as Ashton takes on her new role. Great read that was hard to put down.
I was genuinely excited to dive in the characters were spicy. And it had everything you’d want a alphadominated field that’s boss is rendered speechless when his little brothers best friend barrels in loud and in charge. However that’s not her own personality. Who she is behind closed doors is everything he’s wanted. Everything’s he’s craved and needed. And now’s his opportunity to snare her Especially considering she’s now applied to become a member to he and his brothers BDSM club.
This book is extremely promising a hot and heavy read that can tide you over when you want something fast.
The conversation does get a bit repetitive and The waters get a bit murky when it seems the two MC’s have conflict. But that quickly goes away within a few pages.
Personally could’ve been a killing swoon worthy book it just got lost in the mix with the repetition, and plateaued plot

Wow. I am thoroughly impressed by this book. The complexity of Zachary and Ashton’s relationship is intriguing and mature. This novel contains an immense amount of information about the BDSM lifestyle. Also, the amount of respect shown for those who enjoy certain things but not others, the consent, and the way the information is presented is impressive.
Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this book except that it ended too soon!
The story between Ashton and Zachary was really good. I enjoyed the back-and-forth between the two characters. Ashton is a widow who is still grieving. When she finally decides to attend a munch she finds that she has jumped into the lap of her boss the CEO. Zachary takes an interest when he sees that Ashton has applied to his club Shattered Embrace unbeknownst to Ashton. Ashton has dual personalities. She’s a strong independent woman, but when she falls at Zachary’s feet she becomes submissive. This was a great BDSM read that I enjoyed a lot. I can’t wait to read more!

Fantastic book. Love the characters. The friendship between Derek and Ashton is wonderful…heck Ashton’s friendship with the other guys is great. I love how she doesn’t take their nonsense. The blossoming relationship between Zach and Ashton has so many possibilities. I hope it only gets better from here.
My heart aches for Ashton. Her world changed in one tragic moment. Her true nature was hidden, locked away, for so long. As she tries to navigate this relationship with Zach as both his girlfriend and more, I hope it only builds her confidence. Zach will surely remember what it is like to just have a girlfriend. The scene where Ashton calls Graham to get Graham to explain to Zach about being a boyfriend was absolutely hilarious and heartbreaking all at the same time.
I am excited for the second in the series. I hope we get some more club scenes!!!
Hidden Mischief is a contemporary romance, that has a lot of adult content. The first book in the Shattered Embrace series introduces several characters that have very dynamic personalities that you will find very intriguing. This series introduces opposite main characters who you would not normally see as fitting together, but after getting background information on our quiet, introverted main character, Ashton, Zachary may be exactly who she needs to help her come out of her comfort zone. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, excited to see how the outcome would turn out between Ashton and Zachary, and how their friends would react to their relationship with each other. Will this introvert be able to overcome her shyness and find the answers to who she wants to be, or will it all be too much for her to be able to interact with groups of people in a club setting? This is the first book in the series and part one of Ashton and Zachary’s story. There were some pretty hot moments along with funny and emotional.
Looking forward to getting a chance to sit down and read the next part of their story.
This is the first book of this series. The author has done a tremendous job building the storyline along with the characters. As the story progresses, you feel like you are along side of them. I also like the building of additional side characters with the hopes they will have a storyline in future books of this series. If you are in to Dom/sub relationship reads, this book is for you and it won’t disappoint.

Ashton has kept a lot of herself hidden from those who think they know her best. She’s wildly successful and had great friends, but something is missing from her life. Zachary is extremely successful in several businesses. He controls most things in his life, which is exactly the way he prefers things. Ashton and Zachary should not work, they’re too different. However, they can’t leave each other alone from the minute they’re together. The devotion seems a bit rushed for the short timeline. Quinn carefully develops the characters to show the readers their personalities and motives. Overall, a good read!

So, just to start out I’ll say if you have any BDSM triggers this is not the book for you. With that being said, I am SO excited to see where this series goes! I’m actually going to be starting the second as soon as I’m finished writing this review. This is a pretty fast paced book, which I enjoy alot, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.
This book focuses of Zachary and Ash, Zach a millionaire businessman and co owner of a BDSM club called Shattered Embrace. Ash is a widowed business woman, ready to explore life again after grieving and hiding away for soon long.
Ash’s best friend is Derek, who happens to be younger the younger brother of Zachary, Derek and his brother have brought ash in to help on projects with their company so Ash has met Zach a few times in a business setting. But what Ash doesn’t know is that the new BDSM club she’s taken an interest in and even applied to become a member is owned by none other than the two brothers.
Zachary is immediately interested in Ash when he finds out she’s applied for his club, it’s something about her that he can’t resist. And Ash knows it’s a little crazy to fall into Zachary and his wants so quickly but she’s keeping as much of her heart out of it as she can, and if she gets hurt? She’s ok with a little pain to feel alive again.
Ohhhh man, the chemistry between these two is electric, some might say it felt rushed between them, but I think how fast they act on their attraction and give in to their desires is one of their most endearing qualities. I love that they are such different people when they are playing, and that’s outside of the bedroom ash is a large and in charge woman, who doesn’t taken crap from anyone. Honestly, I pretty much love everything about Zachary, he’s so sweet with her and even when he’s demanding in his needs he’s always thinking of her first. Everything he does revolves around her safety and needs and all that. It’s pretty refreshing to see to people so enamored by each other, while at the same time maintaining their boundaries in their personal and professional lives. I’m intrigued to read the second book in their story and to see if they can hold out and stay together.
Now listen the only thing that could make me happier is if there was a book or duet coming up in this series about Derek. I’m hoping he’s going to get his own duet after Ash and Zach. Can’t wait to see what this series has in store, definitely going to be one of my new favorites, I know that for sure.

This was an absolutely incredible start to the Shattered Embrace series! I had planned on just picking this up and stopping after a couple of chapters, but I devoured this in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down because I was drawn into Ashton and Zachary’s lives from the very beginning. I enjoyed the development of each character and felt it portrayed their chosen lifestyle pretty perfectly. Their chemistry leaps off the pages and refuses to be ignored. The flow of the story is fantastic, and there is plenty of spiciness here as well. While I liked the addition of the steamy scenes, the author did not rely on them to be the base of the plot, which I appreciated! I cannot wait to see what the next installment of this series holds and hope I can be patient. I highly recommend picking this up and losing yourself in this wonderful read!

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Ashton has been on her own for years and decides to finally move on. She applies for membership at a BDSM club ‘Shattered Embrace’, only to find that it is owned by Zachary. He is not only her new boss but also her best friend’s brother. Zachary is surprised when Ashton turns up at his club, but he finds her fascinating as she’s a mix of bold and innocent. However, they are complete opposites, but opposites can attract. Zachary and Ashton’s chemistry sizzles off the page and leads to some steamy scenes. The couple have a Dom/sub dynamic and I like how the author has included the BDSM community in this story. This is a great start to a new series and I look forward to returning to ‘Shattered Embrace’ soon!

The cover is nice and grabs your attention. Throughout the book I really wished Ashton would embrace her self-confidence. It was a little light in the smut department. I’m hoping in book 2 she moves past some of her anxiety and insecurities. I felt like I enjoyed the side characters more than the main ones.
This is a great first book and series start. Ashton is shy in her personal life ( I find her quite strong when it comes to her job) with a hidden sassy side while Zachary is dominant, possessive and completely wants her! Quite opposite in many ways their attraction and relationship slowly comes together for them and will keep you the reader captivated. Filled with great characters this is a great read and I can’t wait to see what is next for them both.

Hidden Mischief is the first book in the Shattered Embrace Series. This is a Contemporary Romance/ Best Friends Brother Romance that once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. I actually devoured this book in one afternoon because I simply couldn’t put it down. This is a new t author to me and I’m definitely a fan now. The characters are developed, fun, semi relatable and complex. They have a mysterious side to them but bring the story to life. The d/s is something I’ve always been curious about learning more about its intriguing and exciting . I want that. Ashton and Zac oh my. He’s a sexy dom who can be a little possessive. He’s wanted by all the ladies but he only has eyes for one . Ashton is a bit shy but can be feisty and outspoken when she’s needed to be. These have the chemistry between them and it’s the slow burning kind.The buildup is totally worth it. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Zachary is the billionaire CEO, Dom that every sub dreams of, only he doesn’t commit long term. Ashton took the biggest leap in her life applying to Shattered Embrace, the local kink club. Only she was full of doubts and fears from the start. Her best friend is co-owner and after years of carefully hiding half of her soul away from him the time has come to be her whole self. Zachary has never “chased” a woman before, but the instant Graham brings her application to him for her interview he’s intrigued by her impact on the experienced Dom. By chance the Ashton in the file is her and he can’t resist the questions in his mind of how she hid under two very established Dom’s without them realizing she was a soul-deep sub. A chance day full of important meetings start their interview early and the immediate electricity, intrigue, rightness, is combustible. She landed in his lap; he wasn’t looking for her and never realized he needed her but now he needs her to be his and no one else’s. Can Ashton finally be whole? Will Zachary be able to heal her twice rejected soul? How can they work when one is a serial casual and the other plays for keeps? While the overall world isn’t made up the shear intrigue of their world and how they move within it is perfect. Ashton isn’t a doe eyed woman ignoring red flags and chasing fantasies from a book she wants acceptance, to be wanted, and desired. I cannot wait to start book two, Managing Mischief here I come. I just hope they find their HEA because lord they deserve it, and my soul needs it at this point.
If you enjoy a Dom/sub read with a little bit of a mystery, and some sizzling scenes, you’re absolutely going to want to read this book! You get some BDSM, Dom/sub dynamic, steamy romance. Alpha male mentality, humor, lots of banter, strong and independent but submissive Female lead. Lots of spicy encounters, and some slow burn romance. Definitely an intriguing mix of characters with lots of different elements. It makes for an engrossing read. I for one cannot wait for the second book. Definitely suggest it, if you’re into the spicier side of things.
Sooo I’m a first time reader of this talented author Alyndra Quinn, but definitely not going to be my last🥰. This story was really well written and caught my interest from the beginning. This story has some intriguing tropes in it. Brother’s Best Friend, Opposites Attract, Off Limits, BDSM I mean what’s not to love 🤣. Don’t even get me started on what level of spiciness this story is. I think the pacing was decent for me. I really can’t wait for the next book so I can see their happily ever after. I also can’t wait to see if the other side characters in the book will get their own 🥰fingers crossed. I will definitely recommend reading this story.
In this book we meet two characters named Zachary and Ashton. Ashton is actually best friends with Zach’s brother. He’s been there for her thru the last few years and he’s been her rock. How will he feel when his brother sets his sights on Ashton and wants to make her his? Is Ashton strong enough to put up the demands of such a strong Dom such as Zachery? Ashton is such a strong character when in a work setting but outside of that, she is the total opposite. The book took me a few days to get through. It wasn’t one of my favorite reads. It was on ok read for me. Kinda a bit bland. Looking forward to the next book to see if it picks up a bit.

I love Ashton’s sassiness especially when it came to the dominant Zach. Ashton has an interest in BDSM and has a club in mind.What she doesn’t realize is that Zach is a shared owner and has plans for her. And the things we learn about the BDSM lifestyle was intriguing. Can Zach and Ashton keep business and pleasure separate? Will Zach finally open his heart to someone? And being a hot billionaire Zach quickly became a favorite for me. I absolutely loved this book. Everything Hidden Mischief had to offer was exactly the type of book I was looking for this weekend. There’s passion, strength, independence, loyalty, love, and even laugh out loud moments. The author was able to pull the reader in immediately. It was just an exciting story I never wanted to end. Ashton finds herself attending a “munch.” There’s things she’s trying to understand and discover about herself, while not letting those closest to her know. She didn’t expect that her best friend’s brother would be the one who helps her along that path. But it’s more than just the BDSM lifestyle between them. Not that they believe it. Zachary is known for his tough exterior, but that is not all he is. Ashton finds out easily how true that is. When business outside of the club ends up on a collision course with pleasure Zachary is at a loss how to handle it. He’s respected and sought after as club owner and member but now to Ashton. Does he want her, yes. Does she want him, absolutely. But she’s throwing him off his access and he doesn’t know how to handle those feelings. It’s something he understands or has ever experienced. Does it work out for them? I didn’t want to stop turning the page. And I was rather depressed when there were no more pages to turn. With some twists and turns the author keeps the reader on their seat, during Ashton’s path of self discovery. And I can’t wait for more!

When a application for his club comes across his desk for the club and its the new hire at his company he thinks he may be just what she needs. Ashton has some trauma from a relationship previously so she’s going to need kit gloves. When she realizes Zach is her boss she is scared that will mess up the chemistry they have. Zach has never wanted to settle down but with Ashton he can see a future with her. Will she be able to let her walls down enough to start a relationship with Zach? Read this fun romance to find out!
When Ashton’s new boss turns out to be her best friend’s brother, the sparks sizzle from the get-go. However, as strong as Ashton is in her day-to-day job, there is a side of her that she is ready to explore further, and that begins with an application to join Shattered Embrace. Zach is impressed with Ashton’s work as a consultant with his company. He is surprised, and intrigues, when an application for his BDSM club comes across his desk from said consultant. He thought he was stepping away from club life…but he may be just what this submissive needs.
This was a great story that introduced some aspects of the BDSM culture without being shocking for those who may not know what to expect. Both Ashton and Zach have a chemistry that sizzles…and it was entertaining to read how he helped Ashton find the side of herself that needed to explore. They worked well together in the boardroom and in the bedroom. The secondary characters were also quite enjoyable and I’m hoping they will get books of their own as the series continues.
This is the first book in the Shattered Embrace Series. This book just had everything. Best friend’s brother, billionaire bossy male, opposites attract. I could not put it down. The dynamic between Ashton and Zachary was enough to keep me on edge and the spice was enough to melt my kindle around the edges. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
Zachary & Ashton pulled me into their world effortlessly and I loved my time with them. I love Ashton’s character she may be a submissive in parts of her life but don’t mistake her for a doormat or some shy person. She’s so sassy and I love everything about her. Zach will give you all the heart racing vibes. There’s plenty of heat but this author doesn’t over do it, there’s plenty of great written story with steamy parts sprinkled in. I will say while obviously we’re all about the main characters, you’ll also really enjoy the supporting characters also. I really enjoyed my time with this book and definitely can’t wait for more. Four big stars and highly recommended!
What a talented author ! This is a unique storyline I’ve never seen before . I had a hard time liking these characters or their interactions together , but they were still well written . Moments of self reflection & character growth are always great to give depth . Love the instattraction !
