Having never read any of the series, I was impressed this read as a stand-alone, but intrigued me enough to check out the other notebook books!

I loved when Jules called the Eiffel Tower the “vulgar” iron structure- my family (in a lighthearted manner) calls it similar names (or unfinished!). My favorite quote from the book was “The Case of the Vanishing Lady” and “The Woman Who Knew Too Much,” which summarizes the cases Emma, Jeremy, Tim, and Dora unexpectedly fall upon while visiting the 1889 Paris Exposition. I also enjoyed learning about the exhibits through the fictionalized story, and appreciated the “real” facts at the end of the book.

Be prepared to drool over all the wonderful Parisian food treats as you try to solve the mysteries in this book!

Notebook Mysteries ~ Parisian is the sixth book in the historical crime series Notebook Mysteries by Kimberly. Make sure to read them all in order even though they could be read as standalones, but you get to learn about Emma and watch her grow. I was excited to see Kimberly had another Notebook Mystery for me to get my hands on.
I have grown to love with the multi-layered characters Emma and Jeremy who once again put their super sleuthing skills to the test in Gay Paree and the 1889 Paris Exposition. Having been to Paris makes it all the more exciting because it makes it easier to imagine the places and goings on.
Kimberly has become one of my favourite writers and her narrative draws you into the intrigue and mystery, suspense and drama. The story is well written, and I was invested and engrossed with every twist and turn from start to finish.
This adventure has it all to keep the pages turning from danger to murder to kidnappings to threats and crime and much more. It’s easy to get lost in with the vivid scenes of Paris from the city lights to the Eiffel Tower to the river Seine.
If you love an historic sleuthing story, then this great new addition to the series is for you.

Like book’s one and two this is a standalone book, and the others are not needed to be read to read this book. In this book you meet Jacek and his wife Oliwia and their family. Jacek is growing restless, being involved in war for so long, he is unsure how to keep himself busy. His wife tries to curb this by sending him on errands that take him a while to do. But when war comes again, and he is asked to join, he is unsure what he will decide. Will he join his comrades, or will he say with his family? Oliwia knows that her country needs her husband, so she cooks up a plan to join him, but will that work or will it spell disaster for her family? I loved reading this historical fiction and the way that this author has written his characters. It was nice reading about another story set in this world that the author has created for us!

This is the first book by this author that I have read, and it won’t be the last! The main character has to make a tough, life altering decision to either defend his country or his family. The honor and devotion the main character had was great and it added a lot of dynamic to the storyline. This book can be read as a standalone, but after reading it, I really feel like the storyline would have even more meaning by reading the two previous books in the series. I enjoyed the authors writing style, and the way that story developed with the characters and challenges that popped up along the way. The author captured and brought to life the mentality of a warrior and the struggles that they face when it comes to their passion of defending the land they live on and the love of their families. I normally don’t read this genre of books, but I was not disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, and I am going to go back and read the first two books! Happy Reading!!

The Hussar’s Duty is a love story full of history and conflict between duty to country and family. Jacek goes to battle for his country while struggling with his obligations to his family he has left behind and those with him. This story has excellent history and emotions all packed together. Reading this book, I did not know it was book 3 of the series, but I could pick up hints of previous stories. I am glad I could follow the story without reading the first two.
The relationship between Oliwia and Jacek is so enduring. Their respect and understanding of each other is so inspiring. The heartache of being away from family at war and not knowing how his family is doing or if he would even return to them is so heart-wrenching, As well as the conflict with his young brother-in-law struggling with the growing pains of trying to find his place while learning the true meaning of being a man and a warrior. Honestly, going into this book, I didn’t know what to expect, but I really enjoyed it from the perspective of a mother and wife. I enjoyed the brotherhood and comradery of the men. The middle became very consumed by the battle of the story, and as more of a paranormal romance reader, I got a bit restless, but getting through that, this is a great story. I am glad I discovered it and am excited to go back and read the series’ first two books.

Although this book is the third in its series, I took a chance to read it as a standalone and still loved it. I’m so glad I did because it led me to pick up the previous books as well since the author’s writing style is just magnificent. I don’t typically read this genre, so I was taken by surprise with how much I enjoyed it. The flow of the story, the incredible details, and the thrilling adventure of it all were fantastic! I also enjoy it when there are maps placed at the beginning as I am very visual, so a big bonus there with me. It did take me slightly longer than usual to find my groove with this book, but I still give it 5 stars because I blame that on my not reading the previous in the series first. I absolutely recommend picking this up if you are at all interested in historical adventures because this will be right up your alley! Even if that’s not your thing, like me, you may be pleasantly surprised with the story.

Jacek had not stepped foot onto the battlefield in many years but when the message comes from the Crown how will Jacek choose family or country? When Jacek must leave for war Lady Oliwia convinces her husband to allow her to come along. Leaving her children back at Biaska, Lady Oliwia must worry about her husband’s safe return and that of her children back at home. Riding into battle Jacek quickly realizes that they are outnumbered. Stepping outside my usual genre, I fell in love with this book from the first chapter. This book contains war, heroes, bad guys, and romance. This whole series is amazing.

Jacek is a man bound by duty to his country. He loves his wife and his children deeply, but the call of his country runs deeper. As he is once again called upon, he feels the same invigoration of going on campaign and readying for war. However, this time his wife has decided to accompany him part way. Her observations of what she sees happening falls on his loyal-blind eyes. After their first conflict, he finds scales falling from his eyes and finally sees what his wife observed. Is he too late to return to his family? Will this be his last campaign?

Being a military spouse, I feel like this book resonated with me on a deeper level than maybe a person not connected to the military. It gave me a different perspective on how my spouse perhaps looks at his duty to his country. I appreciated seeing Jacek battle with his feelings and finally seeing that his wife’s observations were truer than he wanted to see. On the other hand, I also liked seeing how his wife supported him despite his duty-bound heart. In truth, this was a timely read for me.

This isn’t the first book by this author that i have read and it won’t be the last. The main character has to make a life altering decision to either defend his country or his family. The honor ad devotion this main character had was great and i enjoyed their story a lot. The book can be read as a standalone and but after reading this one i think i will go back and read the two previous books because I enjoy the authors writing style and this is a good pallet cleanser book for me because I normally don’t read this genre. I enjoyed this one and i would recommend to a friend!

The Hussar’s Duty is the third book in The Winged Warrior Series. It is a historical adventure that is set in the 17th Century at the time of the war between the Ottoman Empire and Central Europe. Although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first two books so that you know more about the backstory and characters. The author has done an amazing job of transporting the reader to the 17th Century through detailed writing that fully immerses you in each scene. The storyline centers around the characters of Jacek and Oliwia who have been living a peaceful life until Jacek gets called back into duty. Jacek was a warrior with the Winged Warriors but now has turned his focus to devoting his life to his wife and family. When he is called back to duty Jacek finds that he feels conflicted between duty to his country or the love of his family. Jacek’s character is one that is easy to get heavily invested into as he must make the gut-wrenching decision of choosing loyalty to his country or the love of his family. I highly recommend this book that is full of adventure, action, drama, danger, angst, and romance.

Having read the previous books in this series I was looking forward to being back with Jacek and Oliwia, and I was not disappointed. As usual the descriptive narrative brought the characters and the setting vividly to life, while the added historical details transported me back in time. The storyline is set in the era when Sultan Osman II sends Poland’s envoy packing, and the Commonwealth is preparing for war against the Ottomans large army. Grand Hetman of the Crown Stanisław Żółkiewski has been tasked with repelling the invasion, and he needs the Commonwealth’s most valiant Polish winged hussar, Jacek Dąbrowski.
Meanwhile, Jacek has made a life away from the battlefield with his wife Oliwia and their children, and although he is feeling idle he’s worried that his family will be at risk whilst he’s away. However, Oliwia has no intention of letting him go alone and so hatches a plan to accompany him. Jacek is torn between his country and his family, knowing that which ever one he chooses it will have consequences. This is a fast paced, exciting read with a storyline full of adventure, drama, and romance and a plot which keeps you guessing as to the outcome of the story. An enjoyable and entertaining novel, and one which I recommend.

Although I do not enjoy war or warfare itself, there is a special place in my heart for warriors. The main characters are a warrior and his wife in medieval Poland. There are similarities to German spellings and the grammatical syntax of the Russian languages to be quite interesting. These details are compelling as points of history. Another interesting point is the role the wife takes, both in her marriage and her household.

This is the third book in the series and is a great addition overall. This book can be read as a standalone but is one I would suggest is worth reading in order. This book is detailed and such an interesting one to read. I like how varied the story and the characters felt. The characters really brought this book to life. They added a dynamic to the book that made it even more enjoyable.
This author is a very new author to me but I am really enjoying their writing style. It has a good, easy to read tone to it and I always connect with the story being told. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I can wait to read more from this author.

The Hussar’s Duty (The Winged Warrior Series Book 3) by Griffin Brady. This is the 3rd book in the Winged Warrior Series and it is full of action, adventure and romance. I do recommend reading the previous books first just to better enjoy and understand the series. In this book we find Jacek settled down with a wife and family but he’s not entirely happy. He’s restless and itches to be back in the battles that’s he’s always been in. When Jacek is called back to fight for Poland he rushes to help but when he gets there he realizes not everything is at it seems. Torn between his Country that he loves and who he pledged to fight for and his family. Which battle will Jacek take on the one for his Country or the one with his wife. He loves his family but he was born to fight for his country. This author has written this series so well I feel as if I’m in Poland in the 17th century and in the middle of this horrible war. Do yourself a favor and read this amazing series today!

The Hussar’s Duty is the third book in The Winged Warrior series. I recommend reading the books previous to this one, but this can still be enjoyed as a standalone story. Jacek has defended his country tirelessly but is now settled with a wife and family. Despite his wife’s best attempts at keeping him busy so he doesn’t feel restless, he is pulled by the call to arms. Will he have to choose between his country and family?
This is well-written historical fiction. The characters are full of depth, and the story is complex but relatable. It has been a while since I read the second book in this series, but I didn’t feel lost in the story. Jacek is an interesting character and shows how a soldier can be so dedicated to a cause. Though this is a bit complex at times, the author draws the reader in, and you don’t want to put it down. I rediscovered this author with this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is the third book in The Winged Warrior Series and is a Historical Adventure/Romance that once you start reading its hard to put down. I realized after I was halfway through that I skipped the second book so I’ll be going back and reading it. This author is fairly new to me still but what I’ve read so far I’m a fan. This is packed with action, adventure, drama, Romance and so much more. The characters are strong, supportive and developed. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens when a Warrior must pick between defending his country or his family both of which him. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I really enjoyed this historical story. It has something for everyone. Romance, danger,unrest, brave warriors, war and plenty of action.
This is the 3rd book in The Winged Warriors series and even though this book can be read on its own and still be enjoyed I would recommend reading the books in order so that you can fully immerse yourself in the story and the history. You can take that the author is passionate about this time period as the research and details involved in this book are amazing. As a reader you are transported back in time and given a complete insight into what life was like.
Jacek is a brave warrior. As part of The Winged Warriors he has been on several missions fighting for his country. During that time he also found love.
Now he has a decision to make that no warrior wants to face. Does he go back to fight and do his duty for his country or does he stay with his family? Both decision have consequences and we follow Jacek through all the ups and downs and the twists and turns thats happen along the way when his wife tries to give him the best of both. The freedom to fight again while having his family near but this also leads to complications and problems and the price maybe too high for Jacek to pay.
This is a completely engaging historic tale. The writing style is so descriptive that you can actually visually every scene the author describes. I felt completely invested in Jacek’s life, his family and the consequences of their decisions.

This was my first book by this author and in this series. I was not disappointed. Although I read it as a stand-alone, I will go back and read the first two just to get more of the series. It’s very well-written and captivating. I’m beginning to enjoy historical fiction and this book just proves that I must dive more into this genre. It’s very entertaining and has tons of action. Although it’s set in the time period it’s set in, it’s still relatable with how real the characters are and their personalities.

Where most teens are thinking about fashion , hanging out at the local hotspots Nadija is having to concern herself with loosing the roof over gears , stray bullets , friends that became enemies
survival , having to steal to survive but despite her dire circumstance she still manages to make you laugh at times and being humour to a tragic and traumatic time 🥲 it shows me the power of hope because without hope we have nothing …

I value and appreciate vulnerability and transparency, you know where you stand and Nadija put herself , her experiences and emotions on the line and shared her story and fir that I want to say thank you ! It’s so sad when innocents suffer at the hands of politicians and or leaders and every war has always been for that reason 🥲

I’ve just taken a deep shaky breath and said thank you again for the freedom I so often take for granted 🙏

This is my second book by this author which I enjoyed reading. It is the third book in this series and I look forward to reading the previous books in this series. It can be read as a standalone as well. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the story from the start. The characters are relatable and creative. A story about a warrior who finds himself in a position of having to make a choice of defending the country who needs him or his family who also needs him. A story of honor, devotion and obligation. You don’t want to miss what happens with this warrior as his heart is toren in two different directions. I enjoyed what the characters brought to this story. It is a entertaining and easy story to read. It is fast paced and full of adventure. I highly recommend this book.

This is my first historical romance and I enjoyed it. The suspense, the drama, the steam…loved it all. I like a good fast paced book every now and then so if you do too, read this. MMF is one of my favorite things to read so that had my attention from the start. I plan on reading the first book to this series! Glad I gave this book a shot. For mature readers!

This ended up being a really good read! He beginning was a bit slow and I struggled to get into it but once I finally did get immersed I ended up loving it. The spice was spot on, especially for a historical romance which I also happen to love. I don’t feel like anything important was left out, so I say this can be read as a standalone. This a new to me author and I was impressed as far as a first read goes and I’m excited to read more in the future!

This is a really good book! There was a touch of awkwardness at 1st but honestly … relatable ! In my experience different POVs are usually their own chapters, but here they switched back & forth almost imperceptibly & I kind of liked it. The story flowed beautifully, was surprisingly exciting, & delightfully romantic. I can’t even decide if I’m team Isaac or team Walter, I loved them both so much . I might just be team Suzette, because I’m just like “go ahead girl get them double Ds!!” lol Derriére was a complex & layered villain & I felt slimy every time he was around. Fantastically written, & honestly might have been the best written character. I truly , truly enjoyed reading this story & feeling the glow of such genuine & pure love & friendship. Definitely will be reading more of this wonderful author!

I wasn’t sure what to think when I first started reading this book. It has everything that one would want form a historical romance. It also has a twist with some amazing MMF steamy romance. Let’s just start this out with saying this book pack a bunch of steam in the pages. It will have you wiggling in your seat, fanning yourself, and even blushing depending on who might walk by when you’re reading it. FABULOUS!!! It also carries with it the time period essence that you would expect from historical romance. Then add in some mystery and suspense. This book has everything to keep you turning pages and not wanting to put it down. It was a quick read because I just couldn’t stop reading. It’s like a can of Pringles, once you start you can’t stop. Be prepared for this to happen and make sure when starting this book you have the time to just fade out of your everyday situations and get lost in this amazingly well written book. You will not want the book to end. Enjoy your reading and remember it is okay to fan yourself while reading, actually I would say it is must. So good.
