This is a wonderful anthology that has different authors retelling the story of Hansel and Gretel. I loved reading every one of the stories. The authors have done an amazing job of making the characters in each story come alive. I felt like I was right there with them. The stories included deception, danger, and some gave me a scare. I love anthologies because I get to read stories by authors that I am familiar with as well as being introduced to new authors as well. The stories pulled me in and I didn’t want to put them down until I had read the final page. These stories also have emotional and romantic moments. I found this group of stories to be entertaining and intriguing. There were times when I would say to myself “that didn’t just happen, did it?” The authors have done an amazing job of writing their version of Hansel and Gretel. I would highly recommend reading these stories.

I loved this anthology. This is a collection of great stories by some awesome authors who have their own take of what Hansel and Gretel should be. Each story is unique and could just scare the pants off you. They are engaging and the twists and turns will keep you turning pages. The stories come alive with each of the characters which I loved. Some of these authors are new to me and some are among my favorites. I know you will find a favorite just like I have. Will you take a chance Down the Rabbit Hole? You don’t want to miss this page turner. I highly recommend this anthology.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When your world seems perfect, will one night have that perfect world crashing down around you and challenge everything you knew.

Madeline is part of the perfect Santa Barbara IT couple, she is a experienced event planner and she has planning this Charity Ball for a year and is nervous for everything to go right. The night of the ball she has the right dress, the most handsome man by her side nothing could go wrong but her whole world comes crashing down.

As she dances with the handsome stranger her husband becomes more agitated and they have a huge argument and he storms out of the ball, but as a true host Madeline stays and hosts the rest of the charity ball. The next morning the reality sets in, she wakes up in a strange room within the hotel, de-shelved and naked. Once she has got herself together she departs and gets home to her husband who is still mad and demands to know where she has been when she tells him that she does not remember the night he produces photographs of her in uncompromising positions with the stranger at the party.

This leaves her homeless and going to broke if she does not try to get to the bottom what is going on, with the help of a PI Burt she uncovers the dirty truth behind the really reasons and will she survive this discovery.

OMG first of all this story was full of intrigue and twists and turns, I could not put this book down. The character of Madeline at first I was not sure but as the story got more intense her true character shone and I felt like in the end living through the trails and strength she had to dig deep to try and move on with her life. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next book for this brilliant writer.

Spouse Trap is the first book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. This book had me hooked from the very first page. I stayed up way to late at night to finish it, but it was well worth the lack of sleep. I enjoyed the writing style and the character growth throughout the book was great. Madeline is strong willed and very detail oriented. I love how she works things out in the case of her ruined marriage. I would highly recommend this book and look forward to getting the next book in the series.

SPOUSE TRAP: Madeline Dawkins Mysteries (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spouse Trap starts out with the main character, Madeline, waking up in a hotel room with no idea how she got there or what happened. She goes home only to be confronted by her husband claiming she cheated on him, he has evidence, and their marriage is over. Determined to prove her innocence, Madeline searches for clues as to what actually happened that night. As the pieces start coming together, a picture is painted that is full of treachery and deceit that rocks her to the core. As she continues to figure out the whole picture, she finds herself in situation where her sanity and life are in danger. Without giving anything away, you will find yourself at the edge of your seat wondering how she is going to get through it all.

This book hooked me from the beginning. I found myself rooting for Madeline and watching her evolve as the story goes on. Instead of lying down and taking what the world is throwing at her, she stands up and fights while finding out she is stronger than they thought she was. A great story that is thrilling and full of suspense. I enjoyed every second of it!

(The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1)

I wasn’t finished with the first page of the prologue before I felt as though my pulse was quickening and I needed to know what was going to happen. If that isn’t the promise of a good book, I don’t know what is. This wasn’t my first experience with Cynthia Hamilton’s writing, I had read her book Finding Ruth a while back and fell in love. While the Madeline Dawkins series is an entirely different genre, I still suspected to enjoy her writing.
Spouse Trap was one of those addicting books where I found myself actively making excuses to keep reading. “It’s already 1222 in the morning, I’ll read for another six minutes then go to bed”. “I can’t stop in the middle of a chapter”… you get the idea.
It may be an unpopular opinion but I thought Madeline was a fantastic character, you could tell from the first page that she was intelligent and independent, despite her comfortable lifestyle, I appreciated that about her.
I look forward to reading more in the series and from this Author in general.

Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton a thrilling four-star read. This is number one in the Madeline Dawkins series and my first read by this author, a High Price to pay can’t come soon enough for me as it looks like this series goes from strength to strength. This one will keep you on your toes, and have you second guessing everything, but what made this story for me was Madeline Dawkins herself she was a great character and really made the story, she is so much stronger than she realises and will astound you with her character.

Spouse Trap is the first book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. I really enjoyed reading this exciting crime mystery- Ms. Hamilton’s cleverly crafted story had me avidly reading along trying to piece everything together- whilst rooting for Madeline to find the justice she deserved and win out in the end.
I loved all the tension, drama, intrigue, and suspense that Ms. Hamilton was able to instil in her story- it definitely made for an exciting read. I love when a story captivates me like this- where I lose all sense of time and place because I am so invested in the story, desperately wanting to know how things turn out in the end but also not wanting the story to end because I am enjoying it so much.
This first book certainly sets the whole series off to a fantastic start- leaving me with an addiction and needing my next ‘fix’. So, I have already been on a hunting mission and snapped up the other three books in the series just so I can see what else Madeline gets up to.
Cleverly woven with lots of interconnected elements and complex layers that made this story all the more enthralling. Highly recommended reading!!

Thank you, Cynthia Hamilton!

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great mystery read with an intriguing storyline which had me gripped from page one. Madeline Ridley had it all and was very happy with her life, a handsome and successful husband, a high status position in the Santa Barbara society, and everything money could buy. However when Madeline wakes up alone in an unknown hotel room with no clothes on and a splitting headache she soon learns that her position in society, her influence and all her luxurious things suddenly mean nothing. Things become worse when her supposedly loving husband Steven comes home with a selection of damming photos all of which she has no memory off. Whilst visiting Stephan at work to explain her innocence Madeline walks in on a situation that makes her realise who her real enemy is. Madeline’s comfortable world collapses amongst blackmail, sabotage and deceit. In order to salvage something of her life Madeline reverts back to her maiden name of Dawkins and discovers what her strengths are.
Spouse Trap is the prequel to Cynthia Hamilton’s, “The Madeline Dawkins Mystery series”. I enjoyed this book and the author had me hooked from the very beginning. I liked how Madeline’s character developed and changed during the course of the story and whilst to begin with she is rather timid by the end of the book she is ‘Madeline Dawkins’ and I’m sure she will make a great heroine in the series of books that follow. I look forward to reading further books in the series.

Envision you have the perfect life: Cash, top spot, power, an attractive union but you wake up all by your lonesome, naked, hungover with no memory of how you got there. This is Madeline’s life:
Madeline is living her fantasy life with a stunning and fortunate husband with the dream home atop of Santa Barbara, she can afford anything she can imagine. Her life is beyond great until her life begins to unravel in a single night.
Madeline’s husband, Steven believes she’s cheating but in a rage to prove her innocence, she stumbles on the person out to destroy her life. After such devastation, Madeline breaks down, goes back to her maiden name of Madeline Dawkins in order to repair her life. She rediscovers who she is, what she brings to the table and where her true self lies.
Books like this one inspire women to rediscover our own individuality outside of a man and I find it empowering! Very original and entertaining.

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Spouse Trap is the first book in the Madeline Dawkins series, and I think the author got off to a flying start.
The story starts with Madeline in a hotel room, unable to remember how or why she is there. After photographs surface Madelines world begins to crumble, she not only doubts herself but she can no longer trust anyone. Determined to find out the truth Madeline searches for answers.
You really feel for Madeline, especially at the start when there is so much hurt and confusion. The book is packed with emotion throughout and you are really rooting for Madeline that she gets the outcome she deserves.
I really enjoyed this book, the author let’s you know from the beginning where the story is leading, but there are plenty of twists throughout to keep you hooked. I really enjoyed the pace of the writing. Books with lots of action can often leave me behind, but the author packs in lots of description and scene setting which I love.
I would recommend this book, I haven’t read anything by Cynthia Hamilton before, but I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Cynthia Hamilton turned to writing while fighting a mystery illness that went misdiagnosed for nine years. Forgetting that she couldn’t write if her life depended on it, she wrote her first book in secret, just in case it didn’t amount to anything. Nineteen years later, she has written twelve books and published ten of them. She writes general fiction and mystery-suspense novels, as well as some non-fiction. “Once Upon A Lyme…A Tale of Two Journey” documents her harrowing odyssey through late-stage Lyme disease and the unexpected upside of becoming a writer. The Patience of Karma—her latest novel—is the fifth book in her Madeline Dawkins Mystery Series.

Endless Nights by R.M. Gilmore is the second book in the Dylan Hart series which is a paranormal suspense book. I fell in love with the first book and this book didn’t disappoint. Dylan is still her sarcastic, sassy self and she ends up biting off more than she can handle. After going on a trip with her an old acquaintance to New Orleans she finds herself upsetting the wrong people. Can she survive this foe? I recommend reading these in order but worth the read! The second installment of R.M. Gilmore’s Dylan Hart series was just as good as the first book. It was filled with laughter, fun, and excitement. Dylan is such a strong individual and makes for a really good heroine. She takes nothing from anyone, which upon occasion can get her into trouble. In Endless Night trouble is exactly what Dylan finds. Dylan proves once again that she is definitely up to handling anything life throws her. R.M. Gilmore has made a compelling story with Dylan Hart and I look forward to ready more of her adventures.

The author knocked it out of the park again. I loved this book just as much as the first one. It is my suggestion that you read the first book before diving into this one. This book had the same great characters and added some more. There is action, suspense, and unexpected twists and turns. Dylan is so awesome, her mouth and curiosity gets her in trouble more often than not. I found this story to be unique and entertaining. Once I started reading this book I found that I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end and once I reached the end I was left on a cliffhanger, losing my mind!! I cannot wait to read the next one, I have no doubt it will be just as awesome. I highly recommend this book.

I might have liked this one even better than the first, which is saying a lot because I really liked the first of this series, which also says alot about this author because I’m not really that crazy about this genre but when you have a character like Dylan and her snarky attitude I couldn’t help but get hooked. This author transported me right into the story and I enjoyed every second of it.

I love the way vampires and voodoo weaved through this story and where better than in New Orleans. Where better also to help Dylan realize there really is more going on than she realizes or wants to believe.

The ending was almost the end of my kindle and needing to get my hands on the next now is a must.

I can’t wait to read everything by this author. Awesome style and perfect flow of her stories.

Loved it!!

I give Endless Night (Dylan Hart Book 2) by RM Gilmore, 5 stars.

I didn’t really know where the author was going to go next or if she could top book one. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised at this book. I love the balance it plays between suspense and romance. Taking Dylan and company to New Orleans was great too, because it now shows us how she reacts when out of her element. The relationships she has with her people are changing too, and she has to deal with that on top of everything else. I’m not sure if I personally like all these changes, but I can understand and anxiously await to see where they lead in the future.

If you have read book one, you know that Dylan attracts trouble like no other. So needless to say, she is in it again, without even trying. This part of the story is where the suspense part comes in, but true to the series, there is dark humor and sarcasm all throughout the book. It would not be a Dylan Hart book without her plus sized attitude. Although she is still endearing because she does have a heart and a softer side.

If you like a suspense book with snark, humor, attitude, and a wonderful cast, this book is for you. It can be read as a standalone since the author does a great job of reminding us what happened in the past, but I highly recommend reading book one first. Either way, you will not regret picking up this book.

Endless Night (Dylan Hart Book 2) by R.M Gilmore

Vampires, Voodoo and extreme drunkenness; just another weekend in New Orleans. Tatum convinces Dylan to go to New Orleans to keep her company during some vampire convention. Dylan figures it’s the perfect opportunity to do more research for her book. Dylan is unwittingly sucked deeper into the world of vampires and in perfect Dylan style accumulates more enemies. What should have been a party filled weekend getting drunk ends up by being a weekend where she’s fighting for her life.

I really enjoyed this book. I was hoping Tatum would redeem herself in this book but unfortunately I still can’t stand her. I loved the fact that we saw more of Cyrus. I know Dylan doesn’t trust him but I like him. Sometimes Dylan is too stubborn and stupid for her own good. She gets into a lot of trouble which adds excitement and danger to this novel. All her beliefs are crumbling and the story ends on a cliffhanger. Now I’m left hanging until the next book.

Omg this book was even better than the first one. It was gripping and a page turner.

We are back with Dylan Heart on a new adventure researching the lives of vampires.

Dylan has been invited by her friend Tatum and Cyrus away for the weekend. However a weekend that was supposed to be fun changed her life. In a bad way.

Dylan gets on the wrong side of a preistess who curses her. Now she is starting to see images of dead bodies and bleeding wounds. Dylan is scared to death and she flees leaving Cyrus caught in the preistess trap.

Can they solve this and break the curse she is under or will she be stuck seeing dead bodies forever.

Endless Night (Dylan Hart Book 2) by RM Gilmore is a fast-paced paranormal mystery and better than the first. This book sees Dylan once again the centre of attention as it appears, she has been set upon by magic older than time and the reason why is unsure but this sassy loudmouth cannot keep her anger under control once her goat is up. This thrilling read is set in NOLA and is ripe with vampires and voodoo, mystery and danger, drama and suspense. My only complaint is that RM always leaves me hanging when the going gets good so now I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

R. M. Gilmore does it again. Endless Night, in my opinion, is even better than The Scene, book 1. By the way you need to read The Scene to fall in love with Dylan. She is a feisty character that you swear is your lost relative. Dylan is still dealing with vampires but this time she is heading to New Orleans. What other trouble do you think Dylan will be getting in trouble with? Her attitude and her head-strong has brought her through her life so far. Will those charms keep going? I highly recommend this book. I cannot wait for the next adventure.
