Relatable, emotional and raw
This story holds nothing back. It is raw and at times confronting. Devorah has faced unimaginable pain and suffering over the years and has finally escaped. Now she needs to rebuild her life and herself. This is well written and had me on an emotional roller coaster the whole time. Highly recommend.

Woman Unbroken by Alexandra Fleder – Review by Beverly Finnie

Woman UnbrokenWoman Unbroken by Alexandra Fleder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Woman Unbroken is a woman’s story of perseverance and finding herself again after being oppressed down to nothing. Trigger warning for anyone who has been in any sort of abusive relationship. The story itself was written well but I struggled at times to get through it. It did get better as it went on. The author presents a very heavy topic. However it’s the way the main character grows and moves forward that’s empowering.
Devorah left her husband. Scared that he was going to hurt her with his paranoia and violent temper. He already reduced her life down to just him, what else did he want? She’s trying to move on but has no motivation most days. Until she meets Andrew, and those lack of motivation days start to lessen over time. He brings out a side of her she didn’t expect. Accepting and agreeing to things that surprise her. All this while still dealing with her soon to be ex-husband.
Does her ex-husband get to her?
Do Devorah and Andrew build a relationship?
That and so many questions come to mind while navigating this story. Again it’s central is dealing with a heavy topic and situation.
A story about women’s empowerment. If you enjoy a book around a strong female lead this is for you!

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship #3)A Christmas Amish Courtship by Jennifer Spredemann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found myself wanting to know more of the story than this short novella provided, but at the same time, it was just the right amount of story.

Anne Eichner is alone again for yet another Christmas after her betrothed of 5 years decided to go Englisch. She starts receiving letters from someone who knows her but she is not given his identity. The letter says that after a year of corresponding, they will marry. This has Anne intrigued and she begins to write back to this stranger.

Andy Stoltzfus is a teacher looking to relocate back to the homeland and to be accepted back into the fold. He’s currently between different homes and building another for himself and his soon to be bride.

Anne finds herself falling for Andy while still receiving mystery letters. She’s soon going to have to make a decision that could end up hurting someone. Then her old beau comes groveling back to her. Whatever will she do?

I absolutely loved reading this story! It had been quite some time since I read a novel about the Amish and I’ve missed it! This made for a very enjoyable read on a quiet afternoon!

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship #3)A Christmas Amish Courtship by Jennifer Spredemann
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and heartwarming Christmas romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Anne Eicher loves Christmas and the joy of the season, she loves the baking, the decorating and all the holiday festivities. Anne is worried about taking another chance at love, but she hadn’t planned on spending yet another Christmas alone. Which is why she decides to take a chance when she receives a mysterious letter from a secret admirer. Andy Stoltzfus knows that his heart craves Anne, she’s genuine, faithful and true, unlike her sister who left him for another man. Taking a second chance at love he makes a plan to win both Anne’s heart and her hand, but unfortunately the plan backfires! I loved the sweet, faith-filled storyline which along with the lovely characters and the magical setting had captivated throughout. The story was full of Christmas spirit and it definitely did bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Christmas Amish Courtship is a very sweet novel of how Anne and Andy found true love. Both had been jilted in the past after years of courtship.

Andy admired Anne and started a penmanship with her hiding behind anonymity of the title “a secret admirer”- Andy then takes a teaching posting at the local school and as Anne is looking after her younger siblings they are destined to meet again and fall in love. Anne starts to compare little pieces of Andy and her secret admirer and wonders if they are in fact the same person.

I loved the integration of Amish words into the novel and it was very interesting to learn about Amish culture. This is book 3 in the Amish Courtship series by Jennifer Spredemann but I was able to easily read it as a stand alone novel. I will however be looking to read the other books in this series ❤️

A Christmas Amish Courtship is the third book in the Amish Courtship series by Jennifer Spredemann. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Spredemann, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But I do love a great Christmas story, and this looked like it would bring something a little different to the table, so I took a chance and jumped in.
What I discovered is a really sweet Christmas romance woven with faith, emotion, heartwarming touches, forgiveness, family, community, God’s plan, and finding love unexpectedly.
Anne and Andy have both been spurned by love. But can some anonymous love letter’s help bring these two the love they have been searching for? What happens? This makes for a charming read to find out…
If you love faith-filled romance, with a sweet connection, Christmas settings, emotion, and heartwarming developments- then this is definitely the book for you.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Jennifer Spredemann!

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship Series) by Jennifer Spredemann. I have loved this series and I really enjoyed this book. Its the perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit. Its a clean Amish romance which I enjoyed as well. Its the story of Anne Eichner whose favorite time of the year is Christmas but she sure wishes she had someone to share it with. She loves everything about Christmas, the baking, the gifts, the snow but it just would be better if she had a special someone. When she receives a letter from a secret admirer she is smitten. She has been hurt badly in the past so would she be willing to take another chance on love. Andy Stoltzfus was engaged to Anne’s younger sister and when she dropped him like a hot potato he was hurt but realized he really was in love with Anne. She is strong, independent and just a very sweet woman who would be loyal to Andy and love him for all the right reasons. He decides to hatch a plan to win her over but when that plan backfires what will he do. Will they be able to find love again with each other. Read this awesome clean, romance to find out!

A Christmas Amish Courtship is book 3 in the Amish Courtship Series by Jennifer Spredemann. Jennifer is a new author to me so I thought I would give the story a go. I have not read the first two books in the series but didn’t feel like I was missing anything.

It is a heartfelt clean romance tale full of faith and religion and it is set around Christmas time. A magical time for love.

I have only read a couple of Amish stories and quite enjoyed them. Learning of a different way of life was interesting. It is a second chance romance tale full of love and healing.

I did like the characters and found them interesting, and it was hard not to feel for them.

Annie is afraid to get hurt again after a courtship gone wrong. She wants to have what others have but can she open her heart to possible heartbreak again.

Andy knows he is the one for her he just has to get her to see it.

If you love an Amish clean religious romance tale, I am sure you will enjoy Jennifers work.

This was a sweet holiday inspired, yet it can be read anytime, romance. Andy and Anne had both gone through some relationship hardships. Andy came back into the fold and had hoped to court Anne. He went about it in a different way. He was a secret pen pal. This intrigued Anne to say the least. Watching this relationship grow and develop was heartwarming and endearing. They did have struggles and were able to get through them. I really enjoyed the story. You felt the emotions. The characters were very relatable. Anne’s family were very supportive of her. It’s a beautiful story that showed God is always with you. A story that I highly recommend.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading. I look forward to reading more from this series as well as seeing what is next for this author. This is a well written holiday romance story that will pull at your heartstrings in parts. The characters pull you into their world with ease and keep you engaged to the end. They are connectable, relatable and had me hoping they would find their peace with healing. A story where two people are in need of healing but will they be able to heal each other? A second chance at a romance story you don’t want to miss. This is a story that brings the holiday spirit and romance together in a great story. I really enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from her in the future. Andy and Anne were lovely characters to read about. Can Christmas bring two hurting souls together and spark a new love? A sweet faith-filled Amish holiday story that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart!

Christmas is Anne Eicher’s favorite time of year. She not only loves the joy of the season, but the baking and festivities around the holiday as well. But facing another year alone isn’t what she had planned.

So, when she receives a mysterious letter from a secret admirer, she must decide if she’s willing to take another chance at love.

Deep inside Andrew Stoltzfus’s soul burns an admiration for Anne Eicher. He’s never known anyone like her. She’s exactly what his heart craves—someone whose love is genuine, faithful, and true. Unlike her sister who dropped him the instant Glen Kauffman returned to the community.

Andy doesn’t think he stands a chance with the eldest Eicher sister, though, so he devises a plan to win her heart—and her hand.

But what happens when his plan backfires?

A sweet faith-filled holiday story that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart!

Unclutter: A Survivor's Story (Inner Voice, #1)Unclutter: A Survivor’s Story by Winnie D. Pagora
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is about surviving sexual abuse and overcoming the trauma resulting from that abuse. It may be triggering to some readers. The author did a good job of developing the characters. The book was long enough for readers to get to know each of the main characters well. I felt dialogue was realistic and relevant to the story. I loved the main character, Tina. She is such an inspiration to fellow survivors in the story as well as to readers. Tina’s inner voice empowered her throughout the story, something we as readers can learn to tune into in our own lives. I enjoyed the details in this book, especially the descriptions of the many international food dishes and how they taste. It is obvious this author took time to develop this story before publication, and I appreciate that. I recommend this read for older teens and adults.

This was an emotional 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. This story addresses many things: betrayal, abuse, and so much more. The main character was working on getting past her trauma. She is a strong character that had a good support as well in her friends. With a twist she finds herself dealing yet again with a traumatic experience. Ekon was perfect for Tina, I feel like he was sent to her at the right time. Overall this was a great story. ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Book Review

Woman Unbroken focuses on discovering oneself while carrying baggage of a broken past. This is my first time reading a novel written by Fleder and it sure did not disappoint. Fleder touched on some pretty heavy topics without hesitation and for that I praise her writing. Devorah was extremely relatable. Despite the emotional roller coaster I was sent on, I found myself rooting for her the entire book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an emotional novel featuring a devoted, determined protagonist.

This was the first book I’ve read by the author, and upon further investigation, seems like her first book. I have mixed feelings on Woman Unbroken. It is a story about not giving up on yourself, and restarting your life. Devorah has been dealt a bad hand in life, with her parents getting divorced, her father remarrying a much younger woman, and then going to jail. And her mother fleeing the embarrassment in Europe. Then Devorah finds herself in an unhealthy, abusive relationship. She finally works up the courage to leave, but doesn’t have much to run away to, in order to restart. We see her try to start over and pick of the pieces. I like that the author gave her the courage to leave, and the bravery to open herself up again, when she meets Andrew. I was glad to see how she handled that, in a mature manner. However, at the end of the book, I kind of felt… lacking? Like there wasn’t much resolution, or good for her, or feeling of contentment. The story just kind of fizzled out. Despite my feelings, it was still an enjoyable book, and I would read more by this author. She has definite potential.

This book is a well written and surprisingly emotional story and I found myself connecting with Devorah much more than I expected to. There is so much going on through this story, but it is all emotional and angst ridden that it has a completely different feel than what I thought it would.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and what an introduction it was. The way the book is written really drew me in to the story. I wanted to see how Devorah would develop and what was in store for her. There was also a bit of an edge to the book that added an extra element which made is even better. This is a great book that is very much worth the read.

This is the first piece of work I have read by this author, and I hope it will not be the last! I found the character Devorah Fields to be interesting and relatable, and her story to be captivating and inspiring. I am always drawn to books with a strong female protagonist, and while Devorah might initially seem “unreachable” being an actress and model, I actually found it very easy to slip right into her world and feel the things she goes through. As a working mom and wife, I found her quest to rediscover herself to be endearing and on point. Reading Devorah’s story will inspire anyone to take a good look at their own life and ask “Is this really who I am?” I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good emotional story to get lost in.

This was a sweet story of someone finding themself after a tough time. I enjoyed getting to know Devorah through her own eyes. She went on a journey to get herself out of an abusive relationship and what sounded like a tumultuous childhood. I have to admit, that the story doesn’t seem far fetched for the “stars of California” as it reminds me of the many reality shows on tv these days. Devorah has several people in her corner – her stepmom, cat Fergie, new friend Andrew, old friend Pauline and Misty. I loved that for her. They each gave her a bit of strength to heal and become who she is meant to be.
PS. Her ex – UGH!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unclutter is Book One in the Inner Voice Series. This is the debut novel by this talented author and was so beautifully written that I anxiously await more novels written by her. This book touches on difficult topics such as abuse and self harm but was done in a way that is realistic and honest yet done in a respectful and empathetic manner. The story centers around the character of an eighteen-year-old girl named Tina who has never felt like she belongs. After a traumatic incident with an abuser young Tina is labelled as a liar, slandered, and bullied. She must find the inner strength and courage to stand up to her abuser and overcome her inner demons. This was a powerful and poignant read about the journey that victims of abuse struggle through and as a survivor of abuse, this story really hit home for me. I know how difficult it is to find the courage to not only move forward but to find the strength to face your bully or abuser. It is imperative to create a support system as Tina did and have those that will support you through the highs and lows. I loved the character of Tina who was vulnerable yet strong, smart, feisty, determined, and resilient. I loved that she found the inner strength she needed to come forward. Unfortunately, society is often too quick to judge and label victims of abuse while allowing the abusers to get away with what they have done. This creates a cycle of revictimizing the victim which adds to the trauma they have already suffered. This book contained themes of trauma, abuse, gaslighting, cover-ups, injustice, friendship, hope, and faith. A great book and I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is an emotional, intense at times story following Devorah, a woman who has been broken in just about every way but ready to take back her life.

Though not everyone will be able to relate to her story directly, this is a powerful story with reminders that despite the many heartaches and traumas we encounter in life, we may have the opportunity to grow and find ourselves again. The author does a wonderful job developing Devorah’s character and connecting the reader to her story. The writing style is simple, but engaging and effective. If you’re looking for an emotional read with some redemption, look no further!
