This story was lovely and extremely enjoyable. From the moment you pick it up, you are just engulfed in the story. I sympathize with Kellie and Harrison’s story and how the impact of first love can affect you. I love Kellie’s tenacity and determination to pick herself up when all she wanted to do was fall apart. However, when Harrison shows back up all her hard work is jeopardized. Even though this book is short in length you get a fully developed and gratifying story of Harrison and Kellie’s tale. I would definitely call it a modern version of Persuasion! Pick it up and read it! I look forward to reading more from this author!

Love’s Mulligan (Stroke of Love Book 1) by CA Miconi. I loved this second chance romance. Its the story of Harrison who’s image really needs a reboot so he’s getting married. His team has found the perfect bride who happens to be famous herself, a model. When he arrives at the venue, a hotel, where the wedding is taking place he meets the event planner who happens to be his high school love. Kelly was heart broken when Harrison left her and their hometown to explore his golfing possibilities. Harrison wants to make Kelly understand he never stopped loving her and that it should be her he’s marrying. He also doesn’t want to make Kelly look bad at her job so he knows a wedding has to take place for her sake. Will Kelly try to trust him again and fill in for the bride to be or will she not risk the heartache? This book was so good and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

I really needed a solid pick me up and believe in love again romance novel, and this one just hit the mark for me in so many ways. I think it’s important to realize that not every moment is going to be the right moment, and that sometimes things can go sideways, but that doesn’t mean that they always will. I absolutely loved Kellie’s character of course, but for once, I feel I really connected with the male lead in this novel. Harrison is everything you could want from a man, and more. He had some growing up to do, and after seeing the love of his life again, he looks back and realizes that’s exactly what he’s done. Grown.

Overall, this novel had beautiful character building, the love just flowed from the pages, and the characters popped with enough energy to keep the reader (me) enthralled. I look forward to reading more by this author, and specifically more of this series. Bring it on! Highly recommend.

Wonderful, sweet, second chance romance and a new author to me…..I definitely recommend this book.

I love this story of Kellie and Harrison…..from high school sweethearts to years past reunite in different circumstances. Kellie is a successful event planner in Las Vegas and when Kellie lands a high profile couple to plan their wedding…she never expected the groom to be her first love from years ago. Harrison is a pro golfer and needs to improve his image per his agent and that would be to marry someone…but deep down when Harrison runs into Kellie again, he wants her. Will Harrison and Kellie reunite to a love that was from long ago?

This story flowed so wonderfully and I couldn’t put this book down. I love the spark between Harrison and Kellie!

First time reading this author. What a super cute second chance love story. Kellie is a hometown girl living in Vegas, trying to escape her past. But can one really escape that first love? Harrison is like the one that got away but he actually just left. Left Kellie alone, broken and confused. Kellie is an adult now and able to make her own choices.

Harrison was an up-and-coming golfer when he left his hometown and his girl, Kellie. Of course, life happened and Kellie disappeared. Harrison continued his golf career, becoming a pro. However, his image leaves a little to be desired by his sponsors. He needs a wife and a family and a white picket fence. He knows Kellie is the one that got away and he knows she should be the wife he needs. But his team has chosen someone else. Can a chance meeting and love really conquer all?

A sweet, fast read with a little bit of steam! Imagine being the wedding planner for the fake wedding of the long-lost love of your life? Kellie and Harrison’s story is compelling in this quick second chance romance.

This is easily read in one sitting, but despite its length, you get a full story with well developed and likable characters and storyline! Kellie Kirby left home as soon as she could after the love of her life, Harrison Hayes, leaves without a word to her, to pursue his golf career in an effort to be able to provide a better life for them. Kellie landed on her feet planning events for a major hotel in Las Vegas, while Harrison’s career took off. The two haven’t seen each other in over a decade when Harrison finds himself roped into a marriage to a swim suit model, for the sake of his “public image”, and Kellie ends up being his wedding planner. While Kellie and Harrison work together to make all of the decisions for this wedding, the intended bride stays completely checked out, when she even bothers to show up at all. As the two spend more time together, old feelings come back to the surface, and eventually, Harrison calls of the original wedding plans to try and save his relationship with Kellie. The question is, will it work?

Excellent and quick romance. Harrison and Kellie’s story is so sweet and steamy. At first I wanted Kellie to stand her ground and keep pushing Harrison away, but quickly realized that Harrison’s feelings for Kellie are unshakeable and unchangeable. I hate that he felt he had to get married to keep up a certain image, and it really made me angry that he kept defending it. I am really pleased with how the story progressed and how it ended. The characters were very well written because I developed and strong dislike for a couple of them, even though they weren’t the main focus. It is always amazing to see a biracial romance and I can’t wait to see more from this author.

Kellie felt abandoned by the man she loved, and so she left her small town to start over, cutting contact with both her friends and her family. Harrison wanted to have a head start before he moved forward with his high school sweetheart, but was too proud to tell her. Over a decade later, Kellie is an Event planner at a high end hotel in Vegas, while Harrison has succeeded and become a pro golfer. His PR team is pushing for a huge publicity stunt, causing Harrison to end up at the very hotel his first love works at. Upon their first glance of each other, they each know that they never stopped caring, and that the passion still exists. This story is their second chance, and it is full of twists and turns around every corner. I really enjoyed CA Miconi’s portrayal of her characters, because they feel like real people in a crazy romance. This is a beautiful love story of second chances, and never giving up on what’s most important to you.

The book is one of those that is easy to read as you get lost in the pages so quickly. I found myself reading it fast as I was caught up in what was happening and wanted to see how it would end. This is a well written story by an author who really knows how to deliver. I would definitely suggest picking up this book today.

This is a beautiful second chance romance story set in Las Vegas. The author does an amazing job at bringing the characters to life and their chemistry is amazing. This story is a beautiful mix of romance, lost loves and second chance but with twists because life isn’t as straight forward as an easy HEA.

Kellie is manager of the weddings at a popular hotel. She loves her work and even though her own love life is none existent she loves seeing other people getting their happy ever after. She takes great pride in her work and it is her everything. She has organised loads of wedding for the rich and famous, so when she is asked to organise a wedding for a golfer and swimsuit model it seems like business as usual until she sees the groom.

Harrison Hayes was Kellie’s high school sweetheart and he left her to fulfil his dreams of being a professional golfer. But now he reappears in her life and she can’t deny the attraction is still there.

Harrison can’t believe that the wedding co-ordinator is his high school sweetheart. To Harrison, Kallie has always been the girl that got away and he never stopped loving her. His marriage seemed like a good idea until Kellie walked back into his life now all he wants is her.

Will Kellie believe that Harrison never stopped loving her? What will happen if they admit their feelings for each other? What will happen to Kallie’s career if she runs off with the groom? Can love last and survive the space and time that has passed?

The Colors of Love (Colors Trilogy, #2)The Colors of Love by K.R. Raye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great follow up to the first book in this series. After the horrific events at the end of the first book, and all that Melody and her best friends Lance and Imani were put through, this book shows us a bit more about the recovery process and the healing of the friendships between our main characters. Not only do we see how Junior and Senior year of college goes for them, but how the first few years after school turned out as well. This book is told from Lance’s perspective, for the most part, but has input from Imani and Melody as well. While I definitely don’t agree with all of the characters life choices, and at times found myself wanting to smack some sense into a few of them, I also found myself getting so lost in the story that the real world ceased to exist until I had to put the book down to do real world things. I can’t wait to see how this series ends.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging read, which kept me happily turning the pages. Having read book one, it was nice to be back with the three friends, Lance, Imani, and Melody. The storyline continues from the previous book, and the friends are all coming to terms with the traumatic events that occurred. Having nearly lost his two friends, Lance is determined to protect them, along with fulfilling his dream of becoming a professional footballer. Imani, is continuing with her chemical engineering degree and the hope of a promising career. Melody has been left shattered but is even more determined to find true love like her parents.
As the friends try to recover from the unimaginable, their friendship is tested. Lance’s promiscuity may not only affect his NFL dreams, but also endanger the girls again. Meanwhile, Melody is at risk of making the same mistakes that nearly got her killed, and Imani’s racist preconceptions may prevent her academic progress. This is an emotional rollercoaster of a read, full of drama and angst, but fundamentally the friendship element shines through. The characters are all likeable and relatable, making me feel engaged with them and their lives. I look forward to book three, and with ‘catching up’ with the trio of friends again.

This is the 2nd book in the Colors Trilogy.
We are back with Lance, Imani and Melody as they try to navigate college life. Dealing with new stresses, Romance, demons of the past and their future the 3 friends are going through their life’s facing different situations and finding and losing love.

After the devastating events of the last book it has sent shock waves through the 3 friends. Now they are all trying to rebuild their lives and all the challenges that they will come against. As young adults there is a lot of angst. Love and romance are confusing concepts. One thing none of the friends want is a repeat of the last time one of them fell in love.
With Melody’s past relationship and the terrible end that came too she is reluctant to let another man close to her. Is she right to keep herself guarded and closed off?
Imani is always strong and sensible but when she gets into a long- distance relationship with DJ she finds herself feeling and confronting emotions she’s never felt before .

And finally Lance. Lance is definately a ladies man. However now he main focus is looking after his girls and becoming a professional athlete. So how will he react when there is another danger aimed at his girls or when his promiscuous history comes back to bite him.

This story is full of emotion as they all deal with their own problems but their love for each other and unwavering support shines though the pages.

Love’s Mulligan is the first book in the Stroke of Love Series by C.A Miconi. It is a wonderful contemporary romance with second chances, a surprise wedding element, interracial romance, sport/golf, past history, emotion, drama, chemistry, and angst- set amongst the bright lights of Las Vegas.
I wondered at the meaning behind the book’s title and have since learned that a mulligan is a golfing term that refers to ‘a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first went wrong’… so now the title makes perfect sense….
A gorgeous cover, a sweet story, and wonderful characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Happy Reading!

I love love love this author and this series! The Colors of Love was beautiful! I can’t wait to read book 3, I may even restart before I get my hands on book 3.
Dealing with the aftermath of book 1, Lance, Melody, and Imani end up on adventures over the next few years of school. The time crunch in this one is definitely quicker than book 1.
Race definitely becomes an issue in the book. Imani is a strong presence. Imani even struggles with it herself. Can’t see past it, on how she should only be dating her own race all others are off limits. It’s definitely a learning experience for her, and I am glad Melody had a meltdown and opened Imani’s eyes to reality.
Melody is still struggling, with her boyfriend blowing his brains out, she needs to let go. But that’s easier said than done. Jumping into a relationship that she didn’t realize had some serious race implications.
Then there’s Lance. Lance is still jumping from woman to woman, till junior year spring break changed his life for multiple reasons. He found out his real dad is alive and well, also not a criminal. Also accepted him with open arms into his family fold. Then there’s Imani, he loves her but doesn’t know how to tell her. He feels the night they spent together was a mistake.
Will he ever tell Imani, how he truly feels?
Will Melody ever be able to get past what happened to Kevin?
So many questions and tons of answers, I just refuse to post the spoilers. I want you to jump feet first into a book trilogy that’s worth every penny!

An enjoyable and engaging, second chance at love romance, which kept me happily turning the pages. Kellie is the event coordinator for a Vegas hotel, and she’s excited to be in charge of planning a celebrity wedding, for Mila, a well known swimsuit model. However, her past comes back to haunt her when she learns that the groom is Harrison Hayes, the golden guy of golf, and Kellie’s high school sweetheart. Harrison left both their small town and Kellie behind to explore his bright future in golf, breaking her heart in the process. Unfortunately seeing Harrison again stirs up all her old feelings, but she’s determined to be professional, after all he’s getting married and her career in hospitality management is at risk if the wedding doesn’t go perfectly.
Harrison can’t believe that his wedding coordinator is the girl who got away, and the one he still loves, Kellie. In order to gain some tour sponsors and lucrative endorsement deals, Harrison’s publicity team have arranged for him to get married in order to improve his image. He reluctantly goes along with the plan, but that was before Kellie came back into his life. Harrison needs to convince Kellie that he never stopped loving her, and that it’s her he wants to marry. This is a heartwarming romance, which had me hooked from page one. Both Kellie and Harrison are likeable and relatable characters, who’s chemistry came across in the narrative. I felt immersed in the story, and I was cheering the couple on hoping they would get their HEA.

I was very excited to read book 2 in this wonderful series, the first book was amazing from start to finish. So I had high hopes when I picked this one up, and needless to say, I was not disappointed! The amazing author created a sensational story once again, and I could not put this one down either.

I loved that this book continued the characters and what happened in the first, and continued. I enjoyed that we got to read about Lance and his story this time around. I really felt for him. And everything he was going through, as well as endured. The book really makes you feel a lot of emotions. Even when they’re painful, you don’t want to turn away, you want more, you want to feel. That’s the power this book and author can have over you. It’s rare and with its power, it’s enlightening as well. The story and writing is captivating. I love how I have the ability to connect with the lead character each book surrounds. I really love that. The book was amazing, and I felt so much! I couldn’t put it down! Loved it!

This author really has captured my interest since the first book in the series, and I know my interest will continue to be held. This book and series gives so much, it is impossible not to enjoy it! Wonderful read, highly recommend this must read book, series and author!

This story had captivated me right from the start. I could not put this one down, or even turn away, even if it seemed like a short time. The story had an entrancing story, as well as characters that kept you interested and gave myself as a reader, a longing for more.

The story had that small town type of feel but with dreams and love attached to it. If you had everything except from the one your heart holds most dear, do you really have everything?
This book really gave me the feels, it gave the hurt of the past, as well as the present, and as well what the future could be if the decision to leave love behind again was to happen. What I enjoyed was seeing the hope in these characters. Even what held them back seemed to be the strongest force, hope reigned above all. The story was beautifully written, and the author really knew how to pull the reader in, a sensational author! Loved it!

Again, this story really captivated me all the way through, and I could not put this beauty down. I loved and enjoyed it with all my heart and soul! Highly recommend this must read!

I was completely absorbed throughout this entire book. While I had reservations from the first in the series, the second one has blown me away! Very rarely do I find a series that gets so much better after the first book. This dives deeper into each storyline, and I loved it!

Our favorite trio are back in college after traumatic events, and they are trying to find a way to support each other but still get on with their lives. Lance is doing everything he can to protect his girls and keep his eye on the ball, but something keeps nagging in the back of his mind. Imani continues to be close with her group and finds a new task in challenging her limiting stance on racial issues as well as finding a man that can keep up with her. Melody keeps settling for much less than she deserves but her friends just can’t reach her to snap her out of it. Will any of them make the progress they want or are they bound to stay unhappy with only each other to rely on?

This was a twisting, turning, wonderful story to read and I am reaching for the third in the trilogy right now. You will not be disappointed picking this up because you won’t want to put it down!

Trigger warning – there is domestic violence/an abusive relationship.

I strongly suggest you read these books in order as the end of the first book is the start of this book. The Colors of Love is the second book in this contemporary romance trilogy.

Melody, Imani and Lance are back after surviving the horrors and still trying to cope with what happened in the first book. Their friendship is still strong but they find themselves with more horrors and hardships that test them. This book is Lance’s story but it seemed that Imani had a more starring role. This another journey through good times and bad times and times that will test themselves and their friendship.

There is a lot going on in this book and lots of characters showing up. There are so many emotions in this story. There is also a bit of everything going on with lies and deceit, angst and sadness, suicide and angst, drama and grief, heartache, love, jealousy and turmoil. There is racism, violence and suicide and interracial relationships and more. It is an engaging story that tackles a lot of issues and keep the pages turning.

I wonder what the third book will bring.

Love’s Mulligan is the first book in CA’s new series Stroke of Love. I have read a few other books by this author and have enjoyed each journey. It is a sweet interracial contemporary romance tale.

The story takes place in the bright city lights of Vegas for high profile celebrities’ nuptials. Sparks fly when two people from a small town come back into each other’s lives at the most inopportune time. This second chance romance has lots of emotions, some angst, hurt and pain but love shines through. Now they only have to make it happen can past hurt be left behind to start anew. The characters are realistic, easy to connect with.

With her reputation at stake, she needs to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. The only problem is she has to do it all for the one who left her behind.

He left town without looking back to pursue his dreams. Now his past is staring him in the face and he needs her to take another chance on him.
