This picture book was great! It has amazing illustrations. It is perfect if you know/have young kids or nieces/nephews. I loved how it was magical and had elements of learning as well. Who wouldn’t love a story about a magical pencil? It is perfect for a bedtime story!

This book is too cute. It is a great book perfect for little kids. The know-it-all pencil story and illustrations were beautifully done. We watch Caspian as he and the pencil go on a little adventure and learn a lesson or two. It is a perfect read for children and those who still love a good children’s book. I will be sharing it with my nieces and nephews.

It is the morning of Caspian’s UnBirthday and when he wakes up to a box tied in a ribbon from his Grandpa, he is excited, but when he opens it and all it contains are a yellow pencil and a green pad of paper he is confused, especially when it starts writing by itself!

What kind of an adventure can a Know-It-All Pencil bring? You can only find out by reading this charming book.

“The Know-It-All Pencil” is a story about a boy whose grandfather gives him a unique, magical gift. It is part of the Invisible Magic Wand series. I enjoyed this story. I read it without having read the other stories in the series and feel like I would have understood it more if I had read at least the first book in the series. I like the idea of a magic pencil. I was intrigued by the adventure Caspian experienced as a result of receiving the pencil. I recommend this book for children and anyone who enjoys a good children’s story.

This was a really cute and fun children’s book with beautiful, colourful illustrations. Caspian’s Grandpa gives him a know-it-all pencil for his unbirthday. As we navigate the story with Caspian we see him do things to help people all whilst trying to find out what adventure the know-it-all pencil wants him to go on. This is a fun book that will get children thinking about doing good deeds for others.

The-Know-It-All-Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand Series) by Lois Wickstrom is a fun children’s read about a magical pencil and the adventures it leads to.

The book begins on “Caspian’s UnBirthday,” not having read the other books in the series, I’m not quite sure what day he celebrates his “UnBirthday,” or even exactly what it is. To get the full story for yourself and the children I would suggest reading the whole series or at least the book detailing what an “UnBirthday” is.

That being said, this is a very cute, imaginative story. It also has very colorful and appealing illustrations that help the reader travel through Caspian’s adventure along with him. This book has magic, adventure, and even shows instances of kindness by helping others. I also liked that everyone and everything Caspian encountered no matter the age, skin color, gender, ability, or animal type was treated with the same degree of helpful kindness.

This short read was really enjoyable and I think it would inspire children to want to go on a similar scavenger style hunt themselves. I’m excited to share it with my grandchildren. It would be great for children 4 to 6.

Lois Wickstrom did an excellent job with this children’s book. The illustrations and graphics are what I believe would catch many children’s attention. They are aesthetically pleasing. There is depth in the cartoons. The Know It All Pencil is a sweet story about a boy named Caspian who receives a present on his “UnBirthday”. This writer viewed the pencil as silly, and thinks children would really enjoy how the pencil worked by itself. The story also comes together at the end and brings everything full circle.

This is fun children’s story that I think would really connect with children. I read this book with my four year old and she really seemed to enjoy it. I liked the fact that the story was also easy for me to enjoy and not a slog to try and read through like some children’s books can be.
If all the books in the series are like this I can see it being a huge hit with children. This is great book ro read with them.

What a grand story. Learning to spell and read is always fun. Caspian’s Grandfather knows just what he needs for his UnBirthday. A pencil and green pad is only the beginning of this adventure. This author has quite nicely introduced writing and reading. Adding a little math and science. While this story is short, it is a great opening for a child’s adventure. Can Caspian find the Star of this story? The illustration is well done and eye capturing. I recommend this story to all children, just starting to read.

I read this book with my 6-year-old daughter and we enjoyed this fun little book. We liked the way it ended as we had a great discussion about what else the pencil would write. I liked the openness of the ending as it did open the floor for us to talk. Would we want a know-it-all pencil? It might be fun to solve the puzzle of what it is trying to tell us one word at a time.

This story is a very cute kid’s story about a pencil that can write by itself. This pencil takes Caspian on an adventure by writing one-word clues.

This story is short, fun and easy to read. I would have read this to my preschool class and my own children when they were younger. Even the pictures are cute.

It’s Caspian’s Unbirthday and he can’t wait to see what surprise Grandpa got him this year! When he opens the box he finds a yellow pencil and a small pad of green paper but it’s not just any pencil, it’s a Know-It-All pencil! Caspian sets out on a “star adventure” on his way to school.

This is a cute children’s book that involves make believe, doing good deeds, helping others out and trading for things others want/need. There is a lot of diversity among the characters, which I think is really important in a children’s book. The illustrations are very colorful and super cute. I would recommend this book for kiddos age pre-K thru 3rd grade.

This was a very quick, witty and adorable read for kids! I absolutely loved how the author showed kids how to “barter” or trade as Caspian did a lot of that to finally get what the notebook predicted. Then he learned a little cool fact, too! I really hope this author continues this series with all sorts of words and fun facts! The kids loved it.

I really enjoyed this children’s book. I loved the diversity of the characters and I loved the idea of the unbirthday gift. As a parent, we always celebrate my son’s half-birthday! I am a teacher and could really see how useful this book could be in the classroom to show students how you can start with a simple, common object and use it to create a whole story around. This story would be great to use with children 3-6 as a fun read-aloud or for slightly older children if teaching a creative writing lesson.

This was a cute story and my kids enjoyed it. As with her other books they have read, this one also contained a story. This time a life lesson on sharing and giving to others through a magic pencil. I also love how she incorporates characters that are so diverse in each of her books. This was so enjoyable to read even as a parent.. I love how the illustrations fit perfectly with the story being told. The colors are outstanding. They truly pop of the page. Just as with her previous books, this one would also make a great gift to a child that you know. Or also to a school library or elementary teacher. Another hit for this writer and the illustrator as well.

The Know It All Pencil is one of the cutest children’s books I have ever read. Caspian is an adventurous young man that receives the Know It All pencil from his grandfather for his UnBirthday. The pencil then leads him on an adventure. I really love how sweet and caring Caspian is. Also, the African American representation in the book is a definite plus. A sweet story about being willing to go on an adventure. Caspian received a special gift from his grandpa for his Unbirthday. The gift was a pad of paper and The Know-It-All pencil. Caspian had to take the chance and follow the Know-It-All pencil. His morning was filled with meeting new people and finding fun. Throughout his journey the Know-It-All pencil guided him. The beauty of the story comes in Caspian’s willingness to trust and believe in his grandpa and the Know-It-All pencil.
