I don’t usually read short stories – they are just not my thing. HOWEVER, Bernadette Marie is an Author I adore, and I do love a good Christmas Romance, so I gave this a chance. I was not disappointed. This was fantastic. 5 Stars all the way!
My lack of knowledge of the individual stories made my experience an amazing one. That being said, I do want to point out that as soon as I began to read each story, it was a one sitting read! I could not put it down! Each author really delivers on character and relationship building, writing style and Christmas vibes. There is enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, forbidden love and so much holiday cheer.
I strongly recommend you pick this up if you love a good romance read and a bit of holiday happiness!

How does one put a new spin on Romeo & Juliet? Set in the modern day, add a bad guy, add some instant love and some sweet romance, that is how!! This author uses Shakespearan quotes as though they were modern day dialogue. It was great and fun to read.
Juliet is a divorced woman that is trying to find her way. She has been divorced for 5 years now and wants to be in a relationship but doesn’t want to get her heartbroken again. She is walking a tightrope! James is not sure that Shakespeare is what he needs in his life but is willing to try. When James meets Juliet, he knows that she is the missing piece to his life. He is determined to make Juliet his. Buuuuuuut, Juliet isn’t so sure. She is unwilling to trust and open her heart. Can James get her to change her mind? Will a ghost from Juliet’s past ruin everything?
This fast-paced story is a quick read. Loved the he falls first part. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Shakespeare quotes and poetry!! Fantastic story.

I can’t believe this author found a way for me to love these characters more than I already did. Had I read this first, I would find myself wanting to read more about these badass women. As it was, I couldn’t possibly not read about a character named after me!!! (Seriously, I know it wasn’t me but I can dream.)
This short, intense story allows a glimpse into the lives of the Mafia Princesses and why they are as strong as they are. These women are strong, loyal, intelligent, talented, and we can’t forget deadly. This is a beautiful origin story, a starting point!

A Christmas to Remember is a collection of short stories that involve romance around the Christmas Holiday. Gretchen and Levi are two competing bakers who were once student and pupil, but now find themselves in a holiday baking contest. Hank is the IT manager for the city of St. Francis and Amity is a jewelry maker who has been offered an opportunity to move to Los Angeles to expand her business. My favorite of the collection has to be Randi and Wil’s story. I’m a total sucker for an adorable animal story, and Penny, who is a dachshund, is my absolute favorite dog breed. Next there is Max and Cassie who work together to help their friends plan a Christmas Eve wedding. There’s even a tree farmer named Nat who ends up as her town’s representative to try to teach the new bank officer the way things are in the town of Evergreen when his plans threaten to close many of the small town’s businesses. Val and Sal are both worried about gaining their respective fathers’ approval before admitting that the childhood friends both have feelings for one another. Sal is also next in line to head his family’s branch of the Mafia. Finally, there is Abby, who has received an inheritance from her grandfather under the condition that she at least be engaged by her thirty-fifth Christmas. Will Abby give up her chance for receiving the money, settle for sharing the money by bending the rules with her ex, or forge a new bond with the artist she just met? The selections in this book mostly focus on small-town settings, with a few of them set in Colorado. There are a variety of romance tropes contained in the pages. I enjoyed reading them all! I especially enjoyed the Christmas elements with descriptions of traditions, decorations, and social events that accompany this special time of year.

This book is fan-freaking-tastic. It’s full of twists and turns, and of course as is the typical with any mafia romance, full of steamy romance. I’ll be completely honest with you guys, I actually forgot this was a mafia romance until about halfway through the book. I loved the characters chemistry, and honestly while if it was in real life, I’d find him full of red flags, but I loved, loved, LOVED Chase. I absolutely devoured this book, and I know that the rest of the series is just as worth it. This author is amazing and I can’t wait to read more books by her!!

This was a good read story! I really liked the story and enjoyed the characters. It was a very interesting cozy mystery, that centers around Fantasy characters. I laughed while reading this book, and was easily lost in the easy writing style that made this story enjoyable and easy to read. However, there was a lot of grammatical errors in this book, and some plot points that got a bit confusing that I felt like could have been explained a bit better. Because of that this book is a 3.5 rating for me. I’m rounding to up to a 4 because I really do like the story, characters and premise of this novel but with all the errors that were in this novel I have to say it’s a 3.5. But regardless I really enjoyed this book and am excited to read more of this series in the future!

While investigating the intriguing missing gnome case, Bob learns more about the different folks living in Mysty Haven. Nothing is quite what it seems and could undercover a few secrets in Bob’s lineage.
I loved the quick wit and dynamics between the main character, Bob and the supporting characters in this supernatural story. I found the book to be quite refreshing and had me hooked from the get go. It was an easy read and flowed well. I can’t wait to read more from the Mysty Haven world.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Mis-Spelled is the first book in The Stellaluna Chronicles. The book took me no time to read. It may seem a little longer, but really it’s not. The book had me engrossed from the beginning.

This is an easy read, fun, quirky spin on a day gone horribly wrong. I adored the characters and found them spunky and easy to love. They had great character progression and just flowed so nicely! The story was amazing. The PERFECT book to read on a day where the snow is falling and you need some lighthearted feel good fuzzies. I laughed and flipped pages quicker than I thought I could because it was just too good to put down! I don’t think I have read from this author before but it will not be my last! A great book!!

A Christmas to Remember is a Hallmark lover’s dream read. This is a compilation of 5, short, charming stories. Each story reminded me of a sweet, Hallmark romance read. Every story was good. I enjoyed all the characters. I enjoyed the plots of most of the books. My favorite is between “Mistletoe Memories” and “Falling for Christmas”. “Mistletoe Memories” is a story about an ex-couple who are competitors in the baking world. There are ups, downs, competition, and devotions of love. “Falling for Christmas” is about a city boy, Gabe, coming into a small town. Gabe is taking over the bank and all the loans from the small business town. The town is not happy about the changes being made, but he is a man willing to learn. Like many books about small towns, he falls in love with one of the locals and truly learns about the miracle of Christmas. The one book that I really enjoyed but was left wanting more was “Copper Penny Christmas”. This particular book is about a girl who follows her boyfriend across the country so he can go to school to be a lawyer. She is a vet tech, with dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She finds out her boyfriend isn’t as faithful as she thought. I love the fact that she stood her ground in this relationship. However, towards the end of the book, she starts to recognize what could be a great friendship or more with a man whose dog is a patient. There is some sadness to the story, but the male interest seems like such an amazing man. The story ended with the implication of a possible romance, but nothing more. I really was left wanting to know how the romance would have bloomed. However, no matter, I am a sucker for Christmas, feel-good stories so I enjoyed every bit of this read.

This was a great prequel to the whole mafia series. I love this one because you get to know the girls a lot more. Even though this is short it’s packed full of so much emotion. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and swoon. The author has done it again.
I absolutely adore anthologies such as this, where all the novellas come out strong at the end with happiness, cheer, and just overall perfected contentment. I would tell you any one of these was better than the other but that second chance love stories, friends to lovers and just ultimately love during the holidays is bound to bring you cheer and prep you for the upcoming season! I would suggest giving this a read, great authors, amazing writing styles and I’d be surprised if it fails in captivating your attention, interest and emotions! Definitely recommend!

This is the first book I have read by TH Leatherman, the synopsis as original and from page one I was hooked and pulled into their world. Evan is a teenage boy from Earth, while distracting his brother Jerrod and his goons, Will and Gary, away from beating up another smaller kid he escapes into the woods. In the past Jerrod and his friends would stop and stay out of the woods but today was different. Running into the woods brought rain and fog as well as pine needles everywhere, the boys continued to chase him even after Evan hurt his ankle, he continued to run with all that he had. Coming to a six-foot-wide stream Evan jumped across it only to be surrounded by a bright light and a tingling sensation hit every nerve. Evan was somewhere else, later learning that there is a great divide keeping Earth from Stellaluna. Currently he was in the elven country of Shara in the capital city of Lonathas. Evan learns all this information from an older human man that goes by Geezer, who has been in Lonathas since 1883. Quickly it becomes clear that if Evan wants to make it back home, he needs to do everything Geezer tells him to and to learn fast. While elves cannot lie, they can stretch the truth, and nothing is given without a price. The Elven Queen Lycia is big with years of servitude while smaller favors can be bartered for. To learn the spell to return to Earth Evan negotiates with the Queen to complete three quests. When given the first of three it becomes apparent that the Queen is trying to set Evan up to fail to get his servitude for years, but Evan is determined to give each task his all to return home to his grandma and dad. The female elf Sina that Evan meets upon his arrival in Shara makes him feel like her smile makes the sun brighter and everything inside him becomes warmer. As a human in Stellaluna Evan has some advantages, one he can lie, two he can break some of the rules and is able to learn any spell he wishes with one drawback, it will make him tired the more powerful the spell the more tired he will be after. But he is quickly learning how to barter with the elves to learn spells. Will Evan complete his quests in one piece? How much time is passing on Earth? The author pulls you in with fantastic world building, relatable characters, and humor just when you needed it. TH Leatherman also includes references to other works including Frodo’s quest to Mordor in response to hearing his first quest by the Queen. I look forward to reading more of the authors work and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Stellaluna Chronicles.

I LOVED Weep,Woman,Weep! The storytelling is phenomenal, the vibe is magical, the writing is lovely. Though I do wish for more of this story, I’m still happy with the ending. The whole story is poetic & thought provoking & endearing . Spooky around the edges & intriguing with touches of surprise sprinkled here & there . Mercy is inspiring & her character development is fantastic. This book is definitely in my favorites now & I can’t wait to share it with my children when they’re ready.

I was extremely excited to read the second installment in this series. I liked it a lot. I’m glad that Austin found his love. Casey is adorable. Literally a normal girl and that was exactly what he needed. They fit well together and I’m glad everything worked out for them. I really dislike Mavis. I was extremely excited for her and Josh to reunite last book but I kinda feel as though they settled. I know Josh loves her but she had a hard time choosing between him and his brother. Even up until the rehearsal dinner she still had to have time with Austin. I know it was for closure but I think it was extremely selfish of her. My heart broke for Lauren. I really hope everything works out for her in the last book. Maybe Her and Mitch will rekindle their love? Finger crossed. Side note, Susan Is something else. I kind of want more background on her and John. Seems like there may be some hidden secrets. ( Prequel??) overall the book was pretty good.

This is a super fun, sometimes hilarious, young adult featuring fantasy and loads of fun! OMG! This was such an amazing book. Emma is such a strong and fiery character, although I would have to say I loved Josie more. She was so tiny, yet commanded attention and never let anyone take advantage of her. When Emma disappears from her family’s ranch in Texas, her mother Josie never stops looking for her. She even takes one of the ranch hands to court to have him charged with Emma’s disappearance. Meanwhile, in what seems to be another time period on the ranch, Emma is being held captive by a tribe of secret cave dwelling people. She becomes one of their medicine women and adapts to their way of life, until a terrible disease runs through the tribe. What will happen to Emma? Will Josie ever find her? This is the first book in the Mysty Haven Mystery series and considering it’s the author’s debut, I am amazed at her sheer talent! I already can’t wait for the second book because I couldn’t put this one down. Mysty Haven seems like a cute and wonderful place to live if you are anything but human. Bob loves everything abnormal so naturally, Mysty Haven delivers. What will his research reveal about this odd town, and will anyone believe him? Casey Cardel is a marvelous author who has created such a magical world with humor and paranormal abound. You won’t regret picking up this fun read, I highly recommend it!
This was a nice light hearted romp that I really enjoyed. Evan was the kind of flawed hero that I love to read about. He is not perfect yet still manages to do the right thing and come out on top. The story was full of adventure and had nice imagery. I love reading new takes on the paranormal and look forward to reading more from this author as I liked his take.

While complaining about his lack of job at his favorite cafe, one of the regulars hires him to find a missing gnome from his garden. Being new to town makes the local police sheriff suspicious of Bob and starts suspecting him of being the thief.
While Bob is trying to uncover the mystery of the missing gnome, he finds out that things seem magical. The locals are acting like the gnomes are alive. But are they really?
After Bob gets into an accident, he meets another police officer, the sheriff’s daughter who doesn’t agree with her father. Someone or something might be targeting Bob. He teams up with the female to now solve two cases. Things seem to be more sinister than just a missing gnome.
This was a fun short read with lots of mythical creatures. I really enjoyed getting to know Bob and watching him come to terms with himself and the people around him. Bob was charming, nerdy and genuinely a sweet guy. He always sees the good in everyone. Ending on a cliffhanger, I am for sure going to read the second book in the series.
This is a fun, fast Ya fantasy read that will have you yearning for more. I love how the hero, Evan, is a stand up guy that stays true to himself throughout. The characters are all really enjoyable and written in a way that you want to know more about them and their lives in this new fairyland Evan has found himself transported to. Between the world building, funny puns, and characters TH Leatherman has written the start to a great series, which I myself can’t wait to read more of.
The book starts with Evan in Texas before he gets unknowingly transported to a different realm where elves, trolls, sprites, dragons, and even ogres reside. He is taken to the Elven Queen where he is told he must complete three tasks as assigned in order to get a spell to go home or face the consequences. In this new strange realm as a human Evan can learn anyone else’s magic to help him try and pass these almost impossible tasks. What magic should he learn and who, if anyone, can he trust in this foreign realm? Follow him along on his adventures through Stellaluna as he makes friends and enemies while risking it all to get back to his home realm. Does he pass the three tasks and make it back home? You will just have to read and find out for yourself. I promise you won’t be sorry.

This is a nice story that give a good message. I enjoyed the idea of this one. It is an area of paranormal I have not ran across before. It is an interesting idea and really could go far. This one is intended for a younger audience as if follows a teen girl. She is looking toward her future and being stuck in a elk’s body isn’t not her ideal. But until she can figure out how to go back to being a little girl she is going to still push forward with her human agenda.
This story has ha nice flow to it. I just struggled a bit with what happened while she was an elk. The things she did and her focus was what bothered me. Otherwise its a cute book. That cover is just adorable and one of the reasons I picked this up.

Evan had to diffuse a bully situation, but it led him to end up in another world. He went from Texas to the Fae world in just a matter of seconds! He works with the elves to figure out what happened and how he can get back home. The queen offers two solutions: either complete 3 tasks that get harder after each is completed or serve under her for 10 years. Even if he fails the first, he’ll have to do the servitude. He gains friends, enemies, frenemies, and a crush as well. It’s a great read!

Evan is a teenager with more than typical teenage problems. He has a mother who does not allow him to see his father, claiming he is a bad influence on Evan, a brother who torments him, and a loving grandmother. One day, Evan makes a choice to stand up to his brother for someone in need. His brother and his goons then turn on him and start chasing him into the woods across the way from the school. Injured, Evan stumbles into a stream and ends up into a place that is straight out of a fairy tale. From there, he falls in love with an elf who is engaged to someone and tricked into performing three quests for the elf queen in exchange for her to send him back to his world. Along the way, Evan finds friends in the most unlikely places, thwarts enemies, and finds out where he belongs. Mis-Spelled is full of loveable and relatable characters. It is a fun, fast-paced fairy tale full of twists and turns. The descriptions of the lands are beautifully written, and the reader feels like they are travelling alongside Evan. If you are looking for a fairy tale full of mystical creatures, mysteries, and unexpected events, do not miss out on Mis-Spelled. I highly recommend it.

This is another fun and entertaining story by an author that has become one of our families favourites. We loved the premise of this book and the perspective it was told from. As usual the book was illustrated so well. The pictures really bring the story and the characters to life and make it even better to read. This author has become one that I won’t hesitate to read as her books really do bring joy to the whole family. I can’t wait for the next book.
What an intriguing and powerful story this is. I felt the emotions immediately and really felt like I connected with the main character. Her journey is heart breaking and yet you could feel a strength from her that I hadn’t expected. This book really catches your attention. It is suspenseful, intriguing and has so many twists and turns that I honestly didn’t know how it was all going to turn out. As a new author to me I think this book does a great job at showcasing her skill and piquing my interest enough to want to read more. This is a fantastic story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This was a lovely historical romance which also contained some time travel. It was nice to see how the time travel was incorporated into the storyline adding beauty to the relationship between the characters rather than seeming out of place.
As the book progressed, I became increasingly engrossed in Erin and Alrick’s relationship, and feared for their safety in the dangers they faced in WW2 era occupied France. The historical elements were well-written and reflected the dangers faced by those living at the time.
Whilst I was expecting a twist, I was not prepared for the reveal of the real twist, and I kick myself, now looking back, for overlooking the well-placed clues.
I loved the ending and how there were clear links to previous parts of the story, which is what I had hoped for. There are elements which may appear to be unanswered questions; however, this adds to how well the piece was written. These ‘gaps’ fit perfectly into the story and make it more realistic not knowing what happened to certain characters given that even now there are people whose fate are not known from the war. On this point I share a similar view to Erin – it allows me to imagine a happily ever after for them.
I thought the description and use of music in this book was a unique element and as Erin’s compositions were described I could imagine bits and pieces of how the music may sound or make me feel. Music is incredibly powerful, and I have not often come across writing, which is able to portray this effectively, but in this, I was able to feel what Erin felt as she played and hear how her pieces may have sounded.
