This was a really cute book and I recommend it to everyone who has small children. This book provides lessons on acceptance and understanding that even if someone or something is different doesn’t mean it is not okay or good. This book is a gentle introduction to children on accepting something different from them. It is a good book and I will recommend it to everyone.

This is the first book in the Madame Chalmet Ghost Mysteries series. I really enjoyed this story it was a quick read but the story was gripping and so good I read it in one sitting. The author does an amazing job with the characters and I love Elinor Chalamet. She is such a strong and fiesty character. She knows her skills and what she’s good at and she will stand up to anyone who trys to tell her otherwise.
Elinor has helped police before with murder cases. Her ability to speak with the dead and helped them solve cases in the past. So when she is asked to come talk to someone pulled out of the river she willingly accepts. What she doesn’t expect it to meet if Tristan Fontaine, duke de Archambeau. Tristan is involved because the person has some link to the royal family. Now Elinor has to try and solve this case while not allowing Tristan to get in her way but because of the situation and who this person is Tristan is determined to work along side Elinor and make sure the secrets stay with her.
As they work closer together it’s not just the mystery of the case they are solving. As time progresses feelings start to emerge that neither of them were expecting. Will they be able to find the killer before they strike again? Can Elinor keep her focus to find the killer or will Tristan because too much of a distraction.
This is an action packed paranormal romance and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.
Mis-Spelled: Book One of the Stellaluna Chronicles is a great read to enjoy just because. The way the author incorporates humor into the fantasy realm is awesome. All of the readers should be able to get the humor the main character uses throughout the story. One thing that stood out while reading this novel, all of the characters compliment each other. The main character, Evan, making friends with the unlikeliest of them all. Evan just brings a different perspective to the story rather than what people always thought problems should be handled.

This book grabbed me from the first line and wouldn’t let go! Ghost Talker by Byrd Nash is a perfect spooky mystery to curl up with, but beware, you won’t be able to put it down! The early 1900’s esque setting is vivid and beautiful and really works to set the perfect mood. I absolutely loved Elinor Chalamet’s Character, her skills, and her natural inquisitiveness. I also loved the scenes between her and the Duke of Archambeau, Tristan Fontaine, because they play off of each other really well and their relationship feels natural. Elinor and Tristan’s story is scary and gripping, with amazing twists and turns. Byrd Nash creates a truly satisfying ghost story that was a delight to read! I cannot wait to see what their next mystery is!

I selected this book because of the cover, which is probably one of the most amazing covers I’ve seen. I was also intrigued because it takes place near my home town, so several of the places mentioned were familiar to me, which was exciting as a reader. I found the science behind the attempts to travel through time interesting – more realistic than other instances of it in old movies, etc., though I will not pretend to understand it all! The threat of changing history and ruining the future is always a concern, but realizing it would change in a different path (kind of like a parallel universe, I guess you could say) seems to make it easier to live with oneself knowing you are making drastic changes to the future. Sam’s intent to change history to save his heritage is easy to understand. How amazing it would be to live a life as if you had made a different decision, without actually changing your existing life. Or does it?

This book is so sweet! I love children’s book that have little life lessons thrown into them. The Mama Warbler took care of the Cuckoo egg and then the baby Cuckoo once it hatched even though it wasn’t her’s, and it protected the Mama Warbler’s eggs. I can wait to read this to my niece!

I loved this book. Ruby and Em are my kind of people. When you are jilted at the altar, take honeymoon. Even if it’s a honeymoon couple cruise, you know there will be a hot single guy. Tada, the photographer, Max, was a hot guy that mowed Em over right from the start (Quite literally). This is a funny rom-com that will have you crying and laughing through their misadventures. You might even find yourself relating to some of their troubles. Heavens, I did. A fun, contemporary read with drama and a few twists and some unforgettable characters make this a book that you just can’t pass up. I’ll be putting this one on my shelf to reread and share. A new author to me. I hope to read more.
A beautiful collection of poetry about life, love, hope, and never giving up. These poems were a true inspiration, and this collection is something worth reading repeatedly. These poems made me cry, made me think, and touched my soul on a deep level. Many of the poems resonated so deeply with me that it was as though I had written them myself. I especially loved the poems Game Over, and No Surrender because they reflected my thoughts on what it felt like to severe ties with toxic people in my life. I also enjoyed Hate VS Love, Recipe for Life, and Sunrise because they were gentle reminders that there is beauty to be found if we look hard enough and how important it is to be able to see the beauty in the small things. I highly recommend this beautiful written collection of poetry.

If I could go back, I would have read these in order, but only because I would love to have had more of those dark and intense details of her time in captivity. Now I’m just determined to go back and read more about the characters stories. However, Renee and Declan’s story can certainly be read as standalone. I love the realness of this author’s writing and her ability to create frustratingly authentic characters. Is Declan the perfect protector? Not really, but that’s HIM. He does everything in his power to keep Renee safe though, even if he is human and makes some mistakes. Does Renee react how I think I would react to healing from such a trauma? No, but she was authentic and believable and true to her own character. Sometimes readers forget that authors don’t always create the story, but the characters do, and these characters wrote a beautiful one. Great read!

This leaves Case in a turmoil until he befriends one of his advanced physics students, Samoset Brown. Case and Brown work together to turn Case’s grandfather’s time machine movie prop into a working time machine, with the help of a power source that fell out of the sky. They each have their own goals if they were to succeed with the time machine. Samoset wanted to change history while Andy wanted to change his love life. However, neither go as planned. What went wrong? Where do Samoset and Andy end up? Find out in Borrowed Time. I thoroughly enjoyed Borrowed Time. All the characters were relatable as well as their feelings. Some parts left me questioning and none were really answered, while other parts I felt were somewhat unnecessary, but I still rate it as a 5 star. I could not put it down. With the questions I still have and the cliff hanger ending, I hope there is a sequel coming. Overall, if you love time travel, science fiction, and romance, do not hesitate to pick up Borrowed Time.

If horror is up your alley, you should definitely read this book! Missy is five and has a rather unusual imaginary friend, or so her parents think Fred is imaginary. Missy has a love for spiders that is border line creepy anyways but then people start dying. Find out what Fred really is and all is the trials and tribulations that Missy has to go through. I definitely recommend, this was such a great book!!

I loved how the author so seamlessly blended fact and fiction together by intertwining the character of young Lottie into a real-life high profile criminal case that occurred in New York City in the year 1912. Lottie is independent, strong, persistent, and determined to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding who is blackmailing her. Lottie as the niece of Emma from the Notebook Mystery Series, is a lot like her aunt, who makes appearances throughout the book. The author did a wonderful job of blending in topics that were taboo in that time such as exploring one’s sexuality, and the women’s suffrage movement. This book contained mystery, suspense, blackmail, romance, and some steamy sex scenes. A must read for anyone interested in historical crime.

I love Lucas the Spy Cat! What a wonderful, fun story about Lucas the cat and what would seem his nighttime adventures. Curious on what those adventures entail, Lucas’ owners put a camera on his collar to see what Lucas is up to at night.
What adventure awaits and this story is for all ages and totally enjoyable and engaging. The great nieces and I love Lucas and at the turn on each page what comes next. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and detailed. I also loved seeing the “Real” Lucas by the Author and what this story is based upon. How Sweet.

This is a genre that I typically do not read but was captivated by the synopsis and cover art. I am so glad that I read this book as I learned many things that I would not have otherwise known had I not read this book. The way that Scott Warren wrote this book had me captivated from the first couple of chapters. I have not read any books by this author and cannot wait to read more of the books in this series. I will now take more chances on books that are outside of my typical go to reads and this one was wonderful and had I decided to not read it, I would have missed out on a terrific read!

This one was a little disappointing as the synopsis sounded so good but did not deliver. I am all for a close girl friendship and I loved the idea of the two girls going on the honeymoon cruise after Ruby’s fiance left her. I was not too fond of the constant comparison to Ruby and the little pity parties Emily constantly had and then Ruby going back and forth half the time about getting back or not with her ex. Emily was too much in her head and lacked confidence, which bothered me. It became so much of the story that I kept rolling my eyes. The cruise aspect was a lot of fun, I have never been on a cruise so it was fun to read about what that could be like. I also did not like how much she was obsessed with Max at first it was very insta-love for me and I hated how quickly he jumped to I love you. His character was okay for me, he is sweet but i didnt understand him well. This was a few days worth of time and they immediately fall in love when the barely know each other??? Not realistic for me and I did not see what there was to love yet. The potential for the relationship was strong but just needed more than just sexual tension to get me to that level. I also really did not understand the need for the girls to be pretending to be lesbians. Ruby just kind of sprung that on Emily at one point and it didn’t make sense because, in the beginning, they tell the cruise director the situation, and it’s not a big deal that they are not a couple. I did not like the lying to Max and they clearly didn’t discuss it ahead of time so it was sloppy and just annoying to me that they came up with this story but then did not intend on playing it out and were just deceiving a bunch of strangers for no reason and then lying to the only friend they make the whole trip. The drama with the director was kind of fun for a little flare but it was over the top as well. I think this story has a lot of potentials but definitely could have been better. There are so many ways to write this kind of story and this just wasn’t the best one. It was a fun quick read overall but not my favorite.

This book had it all drama, laughter, and certainly a lot of love! I really enjoyed this adventure, everything felt right and fell into place perfectly as I read. Definitely a perfect read any day of the year!
Personally I really connected with Emily. Trying to be the perfect best friend, and has her own stuff going on. Her personality reminded me of myself. Always feeling second best in life was a great comparison to my own life! I enjoyed the random circumstances that occurred, and when you plan something, something else happens instead! The book had a lot of heart all the way through. And you cannot deny the love of a best friend. Defiantly was felt strongly with Emily and Ruby. I loved the author’s writing style. The reading was light and heartfelt. A great joy to read. Author was great at descriptions as well! Loved it!
Could not get enough of this must read book and author. Certainly will be reading more by this author as I just really loved and enjoyed this one! Highly recommend this must read book and author hands down!
Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet by Catherine Peace. This turned out to be my favourite, so far. The tension, emotion, and sizzling chemistry were set on high- and made for some intense reading. As this is the third book in the quartet, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one- as knowing what has happened there, and the other characters and backstories- will definitely enhance your reading experience of this third instalment. This is an emotional paranormal romance with a bit of a love triangle, chemistry, sizzle, shifters, magic, secrets, danger, originality, quirky characters, mythology, dramatic developments, angst, friendship, connection, and clever world-building. Ms. Peace certainly put her characters through the wringer here, making them work for every ounce of happiness. These characters had been through so much, and were each a little broken- but together them became whole. They were so well-crafted, so realistic and believable- I was instantly drawn to them, investing in them and the outcome of their story. And Ms. Peace toyed with my emotions the whole while. That ending though!!!! Bring on Book #4, Trina’s Sacrifice. Can’t wait! Happy reading!

I enjoy historical romance and I do prefer stories that follow after a couple has fallen in love. I particularly liked the Rebecca-style mystery, although the reveal fell kind of flat. Also, the ending wasn’t as punchy and climatic as I would have liked and there were more than a few loose threads and missing scenes. I also felt like the characters could have had more depth and while there was attention to detail, some did become a little repetitive. I enjoyed the storytelling and Laurel as a character

And even if the title hadn’t won me over instantly, the blurb certainly would have sealed the deal. This is a romantic comedy about love, loss, friendship, a honeymoon cruise, a little revenge, a fake relationship (with a difference), chemistry, insta-love, angst, drama, humour, antics, and finding love unexpectedly. How to make the best out of a bad situation, and maybe strike at a chance for a little revenge in the process. When her best friend is left at the altar, Emily wants to cheer her up and suggests they take the honeymoon cruise together instead of letting it go to waste. Only problem is that the cruise is only for newlyweds…… but they soon decide on a solution- taking the cruise by posing as a couple. Easy right? But what happens when Emily meets Mr. Right? This is a quick read about finding love in the last place you would look for it. Pippa has left an abusive relationship to start over. She takes a chance and lives on the edge one night but that one night will change her life forever. Diesel is the man Pippa takes a chance with and thankfully he is the kind of man you want in your life.
There is a lot of telling in this book and not enough feeling for me. I did not feel the spark between the two characters and their story came off dry for me. The story felt more like a summary instead of a novella. There was not a lot of character depth, and I did not feel pulled into their story. Along with their romance there is also some danger thrown in.

Frenemies to HEA I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. It’s the first book I have read from this author and her writing style is engaging and easy to read. Devlin is a great character and I loved his banter with Eve and the chemistry that built around them. Told in dual POV this forbidden office romance creates steam. There’s a few surprising twists along the way that made for a thoroughly entertaining read.

There’s a lot to be discovered in Mysty Haven and in this fun page-turner we get to discover it through the eyes, ears and especially nose of investigative reporter Bob. I loved that little pieces were revealed at a time and not everything was explained at once even when it wasn’t exactly natural. I look forward to more books by this fabulous author!!

I had a difficult time getting started with this book, but it was worth sticking with it. The dynamics between all the characters was great from the get go. Love that I got to experience some frustration and drama between the different characters personalities as they each are trying to navigate their way through the music industry. I enjoyed that we got all three perspectives throughout this book.

Shadow Patterns of Melt: Book One by J.R.P. Fogg is a science fiction adventure story full of action, dramatic developments, interesting characters, agendas, politics, intriguing lifeforms, and skillful world-building. It is a very original story that was originally published in Kindle Vella in episode form. The story is packed full of thought-provoking elements that incorporates complex ideas, physics, interstellar travel, wormhole theory, time travel, and shadow pattern theory- as well as loads of action- which made this quite an interesting read. There were moments where the story felt a little ‘heavy’ that caused the flow to slow somewhat- but the pace would pick back up again, so it was not enough to put me off reading further. Nialla and Bishr were really well-developed characters who were cleverly crafted into interesting and fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I enjoyed following them on their adventure and will pick up Volume Two when it releases, to continue the adventures. Happy Reading…

This was my first time reading anything by EG Manetti, and this book is their first time writing fantasy! While the author’s scifi background is definitely noticeable, they did great creating a fantasy story. I appreciate the more thorough descriptions of the characters’ thought processes , though I would have liked for them to have more personality. The romance between Sin & Rad is a little awkward in the beginning because they don’t really flirt or talk about anything other than work. There are a few flirty moments & a few spicy moments farther in that are great, I just would have liked more of them to really feel the love & buildup. For me it ended up being more of an acceptance that they’re together than a ship. They’re still cute! Sin is great on her own & Rad is great on his own. One of the villains, Aisha, is fantastic & I would have been happy with her being the main one. She was very well written. The main villain didn’t really appear long enough to feel much about them, but they were enough of a jerk to fit. The storyline is interesting & enjoyable with a couple twists that definitely made things better. There were a lot of pop culture references, which was nice, & a few were funny rather than just informational. I also appreciated that there’s enough of a set up for a 2nd book to be interested in reading that one too, without having a cliffhanger. All in all, this was a pretty good book & I would read the rest of the series as well as other work by EG Manetti.

Lucas the Spy Cat by Samantha Shannon is a beautifully illustrated children’s book, with a wonderful adventure story that is suitable for all ages. I am always looking for books to read with my grandchildren, so when I saw the striking cover, I knew it would be something they would enjoy, so I grabbed a copy and set off to explore. Not only is this a fun adventure story with mystery, capers, superheroes, animal friends, spies, and beautiful, bright illustrations- the story also encourages creativity, imagination, and learning. It was even more interesting side-fact to discover that Lucas the Spy cat is based on the author’s own real-life Lucas… A Fun Adventure… Happy Reading!

Do you have a cat and ever wondered where it goes in the middle of the night while you are sleeping away? Well, Lucas’s family wondered the same thing so they made a spy cam for him to wear. They are thinking he’s got to be out solving all the world’s problems, helping those who can’t help themselves, or just having some fun. Once he returns home in the morning and while he’s sleeping, the family uploads the video to see what he’s been up to all night long.
This is such a fun book but what really caught my eye was the absolutely gorgeous and vivid illustrations!! These really make this book! There are many brilliant colors and lots of different textures captured within these pictures. This book can be used for so many great things…pointing out/teaching colors as well as animals, learning new words, learning about technology, as well as how using imagination can take you many places! The ending of this book has multiple suggestions for creative thinking whether at home, school, or elsewhere.
A beautiful book that would make a great gift for young (and even not-so-young!) minds!
