This was such a fun read! It was silly and so very funny! I laughed out loud so many times. I love Naomi’s writing and her stories. They are always such a joy to read. It doesn’t matter what her book is about, I am instantly pulled in and just want to consume the entire thing in one sitting. I really don’t know what to say exactly about this story in particular. The characters are unique, hilarious, and just wacky. I highly suggest just picking this book for a very entertaining quick read!
I have so enjoyed this series. Part of my enjoyment comes from it being set in the 1920’s. It was such a different time back then. The speech, the people, all of it was so unique to us in this current time period. Not to sound like a cliche but Sparky is one of the most spunky characters I’ve met in a book this year. For a young one, she’s got the fear but she’ll protect her people and usually finds herself in trouble. This book is a wonderful mystery. So many little twists and turns make it a fun read. I like books like that. I’m bored if I can figure out the killer in the first little bit. The story is so well done. The detail and the characters really make you feel the history as you’re reading. It’s an enjoyable read. I’d recommend for lovers of historical mysteries.

Super cute, funny, and romantic beach read! Dec and Kenna are hilarious and such an interesting match up. Their unusual pairing due to Aunt Maeve’s will and the chain of events leading up to that moment get the reader hooked right from the start. So many laughs and some great romance, interesting parent dynamics and a great cast of characters makes for a great and very quick read. Makes me want to head straight to the Florida keys! Another great book from Marika Ray!

If you are looking for a cute, grumpy/sunshine romcom that has just the right amount of spice and characters that you will fall head over heels for then look no further and grab Salt Love now. I could not put this book down and would have absolutely read it in one sitting if I didn’t have to be a responsible adult. Ray’s writing is phenomenal and her ability to develop her characters is spectacular. This is the first book I’ve read by Ray solely, but it won’t be the last. I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to put this book down when I had to adult. I loved Kenna and Dec’s story and I absolutely loved how Ray developed them as characters both individually and together. I cannot wait to pick up another of Ray’s books. In the Midst of Omens is set in a period of time where the Gods are prevalent. The main character is part God and the king of Uruk. He wants to leave an impact and be remembered after his death which has caused him to seek the future and not appreciate the present until his God mother and first wife pray for someone to help him see what he is missing while pursuing a change to his fate. The story is about finding your purpose, seeing and appreciating the present including what you already have, and admitting love for another. It’s a good story even if I did struggle with some of the names.

This is the first book in the series and if I am being honest, I read this book second. That being said, y’all can read these in an order and not feel lost. I met these characters in the other book that I read and was super excited to be able to read their story. This book has all the feels. The characters have bene hurt in the past and are trying to learn to let things go in order to move forward. The emotions that the author is able to construe will have you feeling everything that the characters do. I am a sucker for books that make me feel. I felt he anger, the sorrow, the loss, the love, the cheekiness of their banter, the giggles, and it made me like this book even more. This is a quick read because you will fall in love with the story. The characters in this book don’t necessarily have the easiest road to love but they road they do have feels so beneficial and healing. I loved both books that I have read in this series and look forward to reading the third. These are just feel good romance books that gives the reader an escape. Reviewed by: @bbohls

This is the second book in the series and it can be read as a stand alone. I actually read this book before reading the first one in the series. The writing style of the author is amazing as then make the words and story line flow throughout the book. I found it to be a quick read because of this. The characters are amazing and have the cutest meet cute in this book that hooked me for the rest of the book. I liked the chemistry that the characters have and that the families accept the other. It is just a really cute quick read. The other characters in the book are the ones that you will meet throughout the series in other books. They don’t play a huge part in the books that aren’t theirs but they are there for support. It is a great way to draw the reader into the series and give them just a taste of what the other books hold. This book definitely makes the reader feel all the emotions that the characters are feeling. I can’t wait to read the rest in this trilogy. Reviewed by: @bbohls

So Rachel really doesn’t have a good track record with men and when she gets stood up at dinner it’s the delectable Miguel that comes to her rescue and man he’s just perfect 😍 I think she may have just struck gold this time round
I don’t think Miguel knew what he was letting himself in for when he came to Rachel’s rescue in his restaurant. He’s also been broken hearted but he decides to move on and I’m grateful it’s with Rachel…. She’s one lucky gal that’s for sure! He’s got a beautiful heart , he’s really easy on the eye and he can cook , that’s a great package deal right there 🥰🤣
Rachel and Miguel have chemistry that’s for sure and they’re great together! I didn’t want their story to end but if their’s ends there’s another to follow so I know I’m just know I’m going to love Rose’s story 🥰😉

Tess was married before and unfortunately she was unfaithful which led to the end of her marriage but I’m not playing judge and jury so I’ll leave it there for now …. she also runs the local paper and let’s face it newspapers are dying out especially our local small town editions but she’s trying I’ll give her that much ….she’s burnt her fingers with relationships and doesn’t think she’ll be in one again , that is until Ryan crosses her path 😉
Ryan and Mitch are in business together , they flip houses and they’re good at it . Mitch let’s Ryan know that he’s going to take a sabbatical of sorts as his wife is having their first little one and for that I love him but it does leave Ryan in a bit of a pinch , Mitch suggest he runs an as in the paper for handyman jobs and that’s when his path crosses with Tess’s 🔥 it was instant attraction but Ryan has some really strong boundaries and with Tess’s past I’m a little worried , she needs to play open cards from the start …,,
So Ryan and Tess are soooooo good together but Tess is trying to hide her past which naturally will cause a few hiccups but it was fun watching them together they just flow really and Tess gets an added bonus in Rachel as a friend , I’d say she got a 2 for one SPECIAL🥰
I laughed , I cried , I got frustrated but I also learnt , again , that being honest is always the best because with that comes forgiveness , healing and redemption which then leads to growth , peace , love , joy and happiness and isn’t that what we all want !?

This has been an amazing series to read so far. This is Marcus, Storm & Barrington’s story. It is intense. I found myself feeling all the emotions as I went through this story. This story is definitely spicy. It’s also got action and drama. There’s a lot going on. Some familiar faces from Club Nexus pop in and make an appearance. This is an amazing story. This is one of those that I by her stories because I know they will always fascinate.

The Fallen Man is the fifth and final book in The Olympic Peninsula series by Cat Treadgold. This is a series that just seems to get better and better with each new instalment- which made this a bit of a bittersweet read, knowing it was the final instalment. It is a heartwarming and emotional romance that also has a bit of a ‘family saga’ feel., so I highly recommend reading the rest of the series, so you are able to fully appreciate the family dynamics, character development, and interconnected details that come with each book. The author has imbued the story (and series) with plenty of heart & soul. Her characters are wonderful- cleverly crafted individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. Adding their own stamp on the series, which definitely wouldn’t be the same without them. The story is sweet and tender in parts, but with enough drama and angst to keep me flipping the pages to discover how everything plays out in the end. I love how Ms. Treadgold has written a story/series with so many layers, facets, and interconnected details, which makes for quite an engrossing read. This is Edward O’Connell’s story, he’s the eldest of the O’Connell’s — and what a story he has to tell… From priesthood to finding love unexpectedly- his story is a journey of discovery, in more ways than one. Edward and Lisette’s story was worth the wait, and they were perfect together. Again, as with the other O’Connell sibling’s stories, this grabbed my heartstrings, and plucked them, hard- making for a sweet, heartwarming, emotional, and memorable read… Looking forward to more from Ms. Treadgold. I’m not a huge age gap fan, but this book was really really good. I absolutely wanted to throttle Declan at the start of the book when he promised Anna the world and then left her at the alter. The heartbreak that Anna went through, I just wanted to hug her and keep her from the world. When Declan came back into her life I wanted him to just leave and not come back. The ups and down put me through the wringer. When problems would arise and the communication broke down I got really frustrated. I really enjoyed reading this book, and the storyline was written really well and put together.
With my plan to weaken the two major crime families set in motion, I retreat to a remote cabin to wait out the destruction and plan my takeover. None of my plans included a man claiming to be from another planet.
Believing he’s been sent to kill me, his ridiculous claim a distraction meant to throw me off, I hold him prisoner. But then he goes and saves my life. Maybe there’s something to this alien thing after all. One thing is certain, my pathway to power just got a whole lot easier with him on my side.
All I have to do now is stay focused on the mission and not get distracted by the allure of my otherworldly hero.

This book made me do a lot of belly laughs. I absolutely loved Kenna, she was delt a bad hand in the beginning and I had felt really bad. But seeing as she grew throughout the book and meeting up with Dec and getting to know him was something to see. Dec kind of reminded me of a little bit of grumpy cat, until Kenna thawed him out. The ups and downs that they both went through was hard. But this book had a few good laughs that got me going. I enjoyed reading this book by Markia. I can’t wait to read more by her!

This is such a precious book. I have read more books in this series and each book is a gem. Especially if you are a pet owner or love animals, you will find that the books in these series highlight subtle points which we might have overlooked in the past. Told from the point of view of two kittens, Oscar and Emmy, these topics raise awareness and urge the owners to be more responsible. In this book, Oscar and Emmy encounter a hurricane. This book talks about emergency preparedness, and discusses in detail the disaster preparedness kit which has to be made ready for pets, especially you live in areas prone to natural calamities. The kit should contain food, medication, dog collars, leash, potty bags etc which will be required for your pet. This is such an educative book and told in such a light way to the kids, We adults have a lot more to learn too from this series. Highly recommend.

I freaking LOVED this book from page one. From all the re-written myths and stories that we see, Gilgamesh is NEVER even thought of! I thought the entire idea was genius, and I loved the writing style of the author. I couldn’t put it down! My inner historian heart is so happy from this!! Can’t wait for book two!!!

I love all the books from this author. So, it is opposite day at school and the clever and enthusiastic Dinopotomus is tasked to bring a big box of things. Opposite day means that they get to break the rules and disobey instructions, but only if they get it right. When Dinopotomus is tasked with a challenge, he has to put his thinking cap on to think the problem through and solve it. It is such a fun loving book for kids, they learn about opposites. The illustrations and bright and colorful. I enjoyed this book very much.

Secrets, Lies and Betrayals was a pretty packed book. It was not at all what I expected- I don’t typically read the synopsis of books, I go off the title and cover art. This book started out intense, then fell into a bit of a romance story, then ended intense again. It all came together nicely, but I was having a hard time matching the cover to what was going on- then it all falls into place about 3/4 of the way through the book. I see this is going to be a series, which I am happy for. But I am a little thrown off that its a first boo, and a Maxwell Cole novel. While Max did play a vital role, he was not the main character. Secondarily, I hoped the author built on the Conte more- I thought, and kind of hoped, the story would go his direction and turn into a bit of a mafia type story. But, I did enjoy it. I want to know more about Charlie. As it seemed like there was a backstory there, on how Lea knew him. So while I enjoyed the book a lot, there was a lot of dots that I felt weren’t connecting for me. Perhaps the next book will tie those up.

Have you ever just chosen to read a book just by its cover? Well for me this is one of those times. It didn’t pan out as I hoped but that’s okay. In the Midst of Omens has a cover the lures a reader in. It’s just a matter if this is your type of story or not. In my case it wasn’t but that doesn’t mean it was bad. The author put together a well written story of a man drunk on power. A goddess wanting to bring him down. And another man who is waiting in the wings for his calling. Brought together in a bit of a triangle but what’s the saying two’s company 3’s a crowd. Gilgamesh is drunk on power & ambition. Human to a fault though he possesses immortal powers that he inherited from his goddess mother. He needs an heir but 2 things stand in his way. They need immortal blood, that’s the law. As well as if he shows any of his children favoritism he may have sentenced them to death. Because the goddess Inanna would love nothing more than to destroy him. Why not through his children. She has plans for him. So when wolf raised Enkidu has been called upon to help rein Gilgamesh in it brings on a whole nother wrath from Inanna, but it’s just what he needs. What will be the end result? How will Gilgamesh and Enkidu navigate the path they landed on together? Premise for a wonderful story. If you like battle, revenge, god and goddess lore then this book is for you. I, on the other hand, am going to look into other books by this author because they tell stories rather well.

Out and About is another Porter and Midge story, that I read with my 8 year old. He loves dogs and enjoys reading these stories about him. The dogs owners, Lora and CJ want to take their dogs to a 4th of July parade. But, before they can do that, they need to give the dogs some more training, so they are prepared. The dogs need to learn to remain calm around new people, places, noises and smells. The kids do a great job training their dogs, and giving them toooons of treats. But, their hard work paid off, and they all got to enjoy the parade. The timing of us reading this book was perfect, as we are 4 days off from the 4th of July and attending our own parade. Luckily, we aren’t taking our dog, but with the help of this book, my son knows what to do to prepare for next year.

I simply loved this book. It is a very unique cozy mystery story. Cat is a night custodian of a Fairy Tale Forest amusement park. Zoe is a cat, who along with other feral felines is responsible for keeping the vermin out of the amusement park. When an unexpected death occurs in the park, this unusual duo set off to solve the mystery picking up a series of clues.
The book has unusual protagonists, the setting is unique. The book is fast paced and humorous. It is a clear winner. I will be picking more from this series.

This was a great 5 star read. This author continues to pull me in with her books. This one certainly did not disappoint. If you like 2nd chance romance with some very steamy moments then you will enjoy this book and series. Storm, Barrington, and Marcus have a history. When it’s made very clear Storm isn’t good enough she takes off for a while, when she returns things change quickly. Barrington and Marcus don’t plan on losing her again. Overall I really enjoyed this book. All of the characters were great. We get several twists and turns that added a great element to the story. I can’t wait to read more from this author and series. You can read the books in the series as stand alones but I suggest reading from book one. 1-click and get started today.

This was a good 5 star read. Kenna has had the worst week ever. To get away from everything she goes to take care of her aunt’s estate. There is a twist in the rules regarding her inheritance. She has to stay in Florida for a year. When she meets her neighbor and co-owner of the boat club there is an instant connection. They both have a past they are trying to move forward from. I had several LOL moments and was pulled right into the story. My heart went out to both characters. Can these two find a HEA? Overall, I really enjoyed this read. The author does a great job with her writing. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you are looking for a good rom com, 1-click and get started today. To be honest, I’ve never heard of Gilgamesh until now, I thought this was an interesting read and I enjoyed the characters. I liked that Gilgamesh had all these wives but when in the palace he told them that they didn’t need to consummate their marriage or even have children together. And I liked that though he was physically attracted to men he truly loved Shamhat, their marriage has everything but the sex. Gilgamesh’s characters grows, he stops worrying so much on the future and he tells everyone that it was Enkidu who killed Humbaba because he no longer cares about his legacy. I love when he’s ready to live in the moment. There’s Gods, friendship, action and romance, I recommend to all fantasy readers.

The story of Tess and Ryan was such a heartfelt journey. Tess was torn up about her past and fell for Ryan in an instant. Her past threatened everything that Ryan had ever been through, and she didn’t know how he would ever forgive her. The family involved in this book is a big part and the support they give each other. Through it all, Tess and Ryan had explosive chemistry and I didn’t want to put the book down. I’m anxiously awaiting the rest of the series!!
