What a fantastic story not just for kids but for any pet owner! This story shows how to prepare for a hurricane both for people and for your pets. It takes you on a journey to find if Allison is alive or dead in the house. This page turner answers the question at the very end and leaves you needing more answers as you eagerly await the next book in this series. The feeling it leaves you with, is that there may be no happy endings here.

Misery House by David Kummer, review by Amanda Gray This novel starts right away with mystery and foreboding. Every member of the Woods’ family serves as a protagonist. The story is told through each family member, giving a more complete picture of the history in the small town and its mysterious events. The book gives Stephan King vibes, he loves to tell a creepy story from a small town. This town goes back generations, and rarely see’s newcomers. The townsfolk are not welcoming to anyone that hasn’t always been there. A large, empty house sits on a hill overlooking the town, there are many stories about the house and none of them good. As the book ends, it leaves you with unanswered questions and eager for the next one.

Having read The Story that Ties Us, I was looking forward to reading this book. This book was even better than the other and I was pulled into this story immediately. The characters were so relatable. Their connection was intense and emotional and yet there seemed to be so much standing in their way. I am desperately hoping they would find their way through it all. I loved the story the author had created. It really drew me in and was the kind of story that didn’t let go until I had finished the book. I was completely invested in what was going on and the characters journey. This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend.

Yet another wonderful book by Naomi Valkyrie! I was so hooked, I read the entire book while waiting to get my tires changed! All of her books so far have literally grabbed me from page one and did not let go. I love that you never fully know what you’re going to get when you pick up the book but are never disappointed. Magic, shifters, romance and a little trouble makes for a perfect story! I can’t decide if Clyde is my favorite character or if it’s Brix. I would love to learn more about her. I’d also love to learn more about Jinx. Like usual with Naomi Valkyrie, I highly recommend you reading this book. You won’t regret it!
Flying at Recess was another kids book written by Lois Wickstrom. I love how her books helps kids have imaginations. The pictures are illustrated beautifully. The book is full of colors. The details in the story is good. I would say this book is great for 7-9 year olds to read alone.

This book is an emotional second chance romance story about two characters who have to find a way to put the past behind them. From the moment these characters met again, it was obvious they had not left their feelings behind. Even with everything else between them, their connection was undeniable. With everything focused on the characters, the author created a great story around them. It was easy to read, engaging and lovely to watch the feelings between the characters develop. The whole way through the book I was hoping for their happy ending. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Want to learn about how to weather a hurricane? Oscar & Emmy live through one and tell us what it’s like. Also there’s information at the back of the book on actual hurricanes and then how to get through them. There’s also a pet disaster kit list at the back which I found interesting and useful. I think people will like this one, especially young children who are starting to read.
The Book of Fears: A Collection of Short Stories is 8 stories compiled of different people with different fears. Check your trigger warnings! A couple of stories are scary, and the others are downright creepy. Each story is short but really good by itself. I would definitely read each individual book if they ever became their own book. Definitely worth checking out.

An enjoyable and heartwarming contemporary romance which captivated me from the start. Adeline is a widow who was not looking for love when Owen came into her life. She hires her neighbour Owen as a contractor to help her renovate her house. Thinking him grumpy to begin with, she soon discovers that although he’s a man of few words, he’s the only one to make her grieving heart beat again. Owen knows of Adeline’s loss and thinks of her as a force of nature. He was only being neighbourly when he agreed to the renovations, but as the weeks fly by he finds himself falling for her. This is a sweet second chance at love story and the chemistry between Adeline and Owen really came across in the narrative. Set within a small town the main characters are likeable and relatable making it easy to feel invested in their love story.

This is the second in the House on the Hill series and I highly recommend reading the first book before picking this one up. I didn’t and I was confused…not in a “I have absolutely no idea what’s going on here” way, but more in a “I think this has already been explained and I missed it” way. I will say the beginning of the book is slow and it takes awhile to get in to it but once it does, you won’t want to put it down. I’m definitely going to go back and read the first book so that I can fill in some of the missing pieces to the story. If you are looking for a psychological thriller that will haunt you then pick up this book (and I’m going to go ahead and say series) because you won’t want to put it down. I love how Kummer writes his characters; they are extremely relatable…like live down the road, next-door-neighbor relatable. This is the second book in The House On The Hill Series. This is a great psychological thriller with hints of horror. This is the second book and you do definately need to read book 1- The Misery House to follow the story completely.
This was a gripping read right from the start. The author really does an amazing job of writing a story that captivates a reader and doesn’t let them go. I wasn’t able the put it down and the ending and left me wanting more.
This story continues a few weeks after the 1st book. Alison is still missing and Kaia doesn’t believe she is dead. Kaia takes it upon herself to keep search and is looking everywhere to find her uncovering some old town secrets along the way. While she is searching people are going missing in the town and Sherif Wheeler is starting to struggle under the pressure. Kaia’s search takes her to speak to the one man she never wanted to see again to find answers. After leaving random clues will Malaki finally give her something that will blow this whole thing wide open? Can he even he trusted? Is Alison still alive? And what exactly is happening in New Haven?

When I started this read thought to myself I better buckle up because this is going to be a ride of note …then it calms down and takes a romantic turn if you like and bam the rollercoaster ride starts and boy do you need to buckle up !!!!
Cole is a strange character but give the man a chance at first I thought he was a bit of a douche and horn dog because he’s only got one thing on his mind and he’s got a dirty mouth but there’s another side to home , a gentle caring side which comes out when he takes care of Maya when she’s most vulnerable , being a fop investigating the case it puts him in quite the predicament and I’m grateful for his protective instincts because Maya is in serious trouble and she doesn’t really know it at the time so much so that I just want to climb into the book and warn her 🙈also Cole’s job is on the line when it comes to light that he’s involved with Maya
Maya is different to the other nannies , she’s real , genuine and honest and she really cares for her charge , little Benji (he’s really cute)and when they meet their demise heart heartbreak is very real and my heart went out to her , not only for her heartache but for the unfair judgment that came with it ….as it is the other nannies are always mean and unkind to her and that just makes sooooo mad
John , our single daddy rearing and home schooling his children ,also notices her and he’s a yummy daddy that everyone wants but can’t have and he hit his fingers badly burnt before with a deceitful Delilah of a nanny he’s got an artistic talent that makes him even more alluring , but his daughter freaks me out with her glares 🤣🙈but she’s not a bad kid , she’s just protective and it would seem his whole family has a thing for Maya and quite honestly it’s quite frightful
Our killer really is one sick puppy and when I tell you he makes Jeffrey dahmer’s antics look like Childs play I’m not kidding and he’s definitely someone I’d want to cross paths with ! Just remember this is a really twisted story ….
The characters all have some darkness and hurt they carry Cole really had a rough and sickening childhood though as did Maya and when they share their stories my heart broke for them ,they try to build walls around themselves but the killer sees everything and he’s really clever , did I mention stalkerish and creepy 🙈
I actually left the stair light on while and after reading this! I’ll also be avoiding Diamond Valley like the plague 🤣🙈and the likes of Emma (Cole’s partner )and the mean nannies😵💫people are so vindictive
It was just terrifying , sick , psychotic and brilliant ! It had me on the edge of my seat and I think my family was rather entertained watching me read this 🙈 and Maya had her hands full with these men wanting het curvaceous bod and good heart 😉

Homicidal Innocence is a psychological thriller, with a bit of romance in between, by V.J. Lee. I loved this book from the second I opened it, and just could not separate myself from it. The story was engaging, constantly keeping you on your toes. I haven’t read from this author before, and i think this book was phenomenal. You think you’ll be able to figure it out on your own but this author is really gonna throw you for a loop! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this author from now on!

The artwork in this book is beautiful. I felt bad for poor Rocky, it looked like he thought he didn’t fit in with his own family but, when he had an idea on how to help them out, they al praise him and he realizes he fits in well, he was just too shy to speak up it seems. Him and his cousin Rascal hit it off and make a great team together. I chuckled at the angry chicken in the background during the egg eating contest. Such a sweet read.
I enjoyed this book, I like that there are many different mysteries for Amanda to discover, this is what holds my interest. My favorite mystery was the “The World’s Biggest Magnet” I can’t lie, I laughed along with Amanda realizing that the magnet was on Elaine’s head, the reason she could never find the north wall. The art throughout the book is lovely, reminds me of the old newspaper cartoons. This is a great book to read with kids, to teach them many new things and how things work.
I love fairy tales and this modern twist on classic fairy tales is exciting and fresh. Ashes had a bit of Cinderella in it and this one is loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. There isn’t an actual wolf dressed as granny in this story but you’ll catch the similarities. So much happened in this story and I don’t want to ruin any details but more than one person finds their love match. I cannot wait for the next one!

I don’t know if this was the best one out of the series, but it was reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllly close. I loved Lynn and Joey. Their banter was fun. Joey’s openness about his feelings was fantastic. I am super happy the family got Larry back. Jeremy was always a little too slimy for my tastes.
Lynn is the youngest Brooks sibling. She is strong, intelligent, independent, and hates the way her over-protective, overbearing brothers still treat her like a kid. When Lynn takes a job in concessions at the local major league baseball field, it is so that she can find a way to meet the physical therapy and athletic training squad. That is her passion, her drive, her goal. To be a physical therapist for a major league club.
Joey had a bad morning and entered through a different gate. He just happened to catch the scene where a fan had a heart attack. A startlingly beautiful woman jumped the counter at the concession stand and started performing CPR, saving the guy’s life. Joey fell almost instantly. Joey then encountered his mystery woman at a local brewpub. He made a mistake. When this mistake costs him his chance with Lynn, he tries to win her back but winds up making it worse.
One year later, Lynn is back from school and has an internship with the AT/PT department with the team. Now she just has to stay away from Joey. That doesn’t work. She and Joey are still attracted to each other. They try to be friends. When that doesn’t work because the chemistry is too strong, they try being together. Then there is some stuff about Larry (I don’t wanna spoil it).
This fabulous series has all the feels. Laughing, crying, angry at siblings, love for Mango and Ginny, heck, even Duke deserves some love, and the way the siblings try to take care of each other but fail at their overbearing efforts reminds me of my sisters. It is sweet and wonderful and amazing and fantastic and delightful and endearing and a bunch of other stuff. Lynn & Joey’s story was another in that line of adjectives. I hope this is not the last we hear from the Brooks siblings.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind with her books. I love it when the author writes from both of the characters’ points of view. It makes you feel more connected to the characters. This is the second book of the Deadman Tribe series. You could read this book as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to get this book I stopped everything and started this book right away. I could not stop reading until the end. I can’t wait to see who she will write about next.
TB has a very bad boy reputation because of his past. He is now trying to help to solve a kidnapping. TB and the rest of the team are hired to find out what happened to a moguls employee. He is excited when he meets the very beautiful Sylvan. TB feels something for this woman he got before but he needs to keep his head in the game. He knows now that the kidnappers’ next target is Sylvan. Will TB be able to find the kidnapper before it’s too late?

Even though this is the fifth book in the series, instalment book in the focuses on different MCs, so can be read as a standalone/s without feeling like you are missing anything important. As expected, Victoria Saccenti crafted her characters well- creating fully realised individuals with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws. The MC’s have their own challenges, adding angst, tension, and plenty of emotion to the whole story. Their shared history adds another layer to the story, while building depth and intrigue. Stir in all that simmering chemistry, mysteriousness, danger, and some intrigue – and the story takes an engrossing turn. Looking forward to more from Ms. Saccenti. Happy Reading!

I really enjoy reading stories by Naomi Valkyrie, they are always a fun ride. This one was no different. This 100 page read was just as this author said, it was indeed a wacky story, but I loved it. I mean after reading the synopsis she had me at the cigar-smoking octopus named Clyde 😂 how does she always come up with the most unique stuff. And her vivid imagery is amazing, she really knows how to paint a scene. Also the characters were developed awesomely. I think my favorite was Lock lol. In this funny paranormal M/M romance has literally everything youd want in a story. I always look forward to reading more and more of her stories. I really hope we get to see more from this world.
This is another wonderful addition to a great series! Stout of my League had me captivated, I ended up finishing it in two days, I didn’t want to put it down. Joey and Lynn had some serious chemistry from the get go, despite her overbearing brothers, but not only is this a romance with a fair amount of spice, it has mystery elements as well. There many times I found myself laughing out loud and sometimes my heart was breaking for Joey, he was such a genuine guy, and even for Lynn and her mom at times. Do yourself a favor if you’re looking for a great story and give this series a try.

Wow! I have enjoyed the Evil Sushi series and was worried that the third installment would start to lose some of its uniqueness. I am happy to be wrong as this one may be my favorite! I highly recommend reading these books in order to gain the fullest experience. This author is always on my watch list because their writing style is unmatched in this genre! The series has been full of quirkiness, and this one was no exception. The story flows very well, allowing everything to unfold naturally. That being said, I never see what is coming next in this series! I love that I am constantly caught off guard with twists and turns throughout the entire book. I am eagerly awaiting to see what this author has in store for us next!
The first book in this series was quite enjoyable, so I was super excited to pick up the second installment! The style of writing is absolutely incredible and addicting. The author has fit so much suspense and detail in a shorter story without sacrificing the plot or characters. You may be able to read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting with the first book for the full experience and no confusion. I was astounded by the unpredictable twists and turns that left my mouth gaping in the middle of a waiting room! The characters are very well-developed and some of the most interesting people I’ve come across. If you enjoy unique thrillers, this is without a doubt your next series.

This was the first book I had read by this author, and I am completely blown away! I didn’t realize this was a series until I had already started reading it so I doubled down and finished it. I didn’t feel lost so it does well as a standalone, but the author does mention there are a few things that would be revealed in this book that may ruin the first 3 if you haven’t read them. I will totally be picking up the previous books now because I’m addicted! Lynn and Joey are freaking adorable and may just be my new favorite fiction friends. The witty banter alone is enough to keep me reading, but there is so much more! If you enjoy sports romance books with some funny moments thrown in and plenty of steam, look no further than this incredible story.
