This was another great read from this series – one that I am really enjoying. I loved Tim and Willow’s story – the author has done a great job with this series and cleverly intertwined all the characters but also allowing the stories to be read independently. The romantic suspense element to the story was great and I was certainly left guessing a few times. Tim and Willow definitely had a great connection and I loved watching their relationship evolve across the book, they definitely had some moments where they were up against things and it was interesting who they called upon for help! This was definitely an exciting read and one I would highly recommend.

I really do adore this author – she creates such wonderful, relatable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Fearless Love is just another of those wonderful books that you love from start to finish. James and Sara’s story was a sweet read. There were so many elements to it though that I felt like I was on an emotional roller-coaster at times. This talented author definitely knows how to get you invested in her characters. I did like James, I know he was a little grumpy at times but there was just something about him that made me like him straight away. I though the chemistry between him and Sara was great, it felt genuine and believable. They had a great connection and that really shone through. I would 100% recommend this story.

I can’t help but LOVE a historical romance read they really are my absolute favourite to read. I was really impressed with this book and loved every second of it. The author did a fantastic job with the descriptive language and for me that is so important I this kind of story – I need to be able to imagine what I am reading in order to be transported back in time. I really felt for Payden – what a journey he has been on. I could really feel hard everything had been for him and everything he had endured. Clarice really wasn’t what I expected but I loved her. She was just so perfect for Payden and I felt like she was everything he needed to help him heal. This book could be read as a standalone however I’d recommend reading the whole series to understand the family dynamics! A fabulous read and one that I would highly recommend.

Another wonderful book for young readers. Again, as with the first book it’s such a great way to introduce younger readers to chapter books and continuing series books. The characters in the story are really relatable and the plot was easy and clear to follow. Dylan and his little sister, Emily, are on the case of missing bases. This book is great for capturing children’s imagination as they will be able to find and try to work out clues along with the main characters in the story.

This is a continuation in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series as it follows mountain lion shifters. I haven’t read books about them before so that really intrigued me. I love that each book can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series. I feel that it helps with new readers so they can just start at any point during the series and go back to read the others if they choose to. I would they are all really, really good. This book focuses on the wait that some shifters have to do to find their one true mate. It is also about second chance mating which doesn’t happen in a lot of the books that I have read in the shifter realm. The romance story that flows through the book is also held with the surprises that are in store because of the second mating opportunity. Plus the female lead has a son from her pervious mating. It allows the reader to follow along and be caught up in the story. It makes you want to turn pages faster so you can see what happens. This was a very good read and well articulated. Murder at Music Hall is Book one in the True North Murder Mystery Series. I love a good murder mystery every now and again, brings back memories of my grandmas murder mystery dinner themed parties she used to throw. Murder at Music hall was engaging, well-written, and had me hooked to the point that I had to get to the end to find out what really happened. I did feel, like some other readers, it was a bit wordy in some places which slowed the overall pace of the novel. I would still like to continue this series to see what else A. J. Ullman has in store for the reader.

St. John Skidmore is a business man with a need for justice for his son Stoddard who was brutally murdered at the Music Hall while practicing the timpani which he played for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and it was brutal but he believes that the wrong person was arrested and convicted, so he wants True to take a look and see what he can find.
As True gathers all the evidence, witness statements and court papers, he conducts his own interviews to find out what he can about Stoddard and his life in and around the music hall, all while trying to juggle his personal life in the process, but as he digs deeper into the case, he finds that the rich are a law unto themselves.
There are more skeletons hidden in the proverbial closets of family, friends, colleagues and rivals that True’s moral compass is spinning and between meddling sisters, jilted lovers, monetary incentives and threats galore, will True be able to hold onto his ideals and put the right person away, or will money win over truth? This is a murder mystery which is full of twists, turns, secrets and lies, where nothing is straight laced and money talks, or silences, depending on the situation as you follow along on this thrilling dig into the ghosts of the untouchable.

I do not give 5 star reviews often but this book is well worth the 5 stars if you like fantasy adventure with a touch of horror aspects. The story has a lot of detail into the world the author created. There are vampires, archdemons, magicians and images, humans, and so much more in this fantasy story. My favorite part is how long the book is. It may take longer to read but it is worth the time it will take you. Enjoy!

This is how they find out about Princess Sheona who they find stuck in an underwater maze, but how will they be able to get her out and can Angus and Haining be convinced to help? This is a fantasy adventure which grips you from start to finish and teaches us all about bravery and being kind.

I am currently in my romantacy phase so this book fit right in with the types of books I am reading right now. It has a great story that builds as it progresses which it does quite quickly. I definitely liked the story and the delving into character backgrounds. I recommend checking your triggers before reading but it is worth a read especially if you like shifter romance novels. I did have favorite characters I liked being in the story even though they were not main characters so I do hope there is more about them in future books.

Murder At Music Hall is the first book in the True North Murder Mystery Series. This is a Dark Crime that is packed with action, murder, mystery, suspense and so much more. I’m a fan of this author and their style of writing along with great attention to detail and realistic, yet fully developed characters. They make the story come to life. I felt like I was apart of the story. This is a fast paced story that will have you turning the pages till the end. I literally read this in one afternoon because I had to know what was going to happen next. I highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I have read a few books from this and she always takes me on a journey. This book is from the very addictive series Nessie Grotto. I read this to my son and we enjoyed reading as a family read. You will fall in love with the characters right from the beginning. I can’t wait to see what the next book will be about. Craig and Linda are taking a vacation to Canada for the summer. They are excited because Loch Ness is not in Canada. They find out that there is a maze that is in Canada. Craig and Linda find out that Nessies daughter is trapped so they need to help once again. One can truly underestimate what the human body is able to take. Well, most people anyway. Not this author. She will take the human body and spirit right to the very edge and then slowly walk it back to sanity. Amazing.
Tim is thriving in his position. But Chase takes care of family. So Tim agrees to go Maine to care for a friends’ partner. Tim meets a traveling nurse helping out at the same hospital. They bond over everything from patient care to being from DC to movies to food. They just get each other. Tim is truly smitten and takes it slow. He doesn’t want to spook the best thing that ever happened to him.
Willow started as a traveling nurse shortly after her relationship to a possessive, controlling, abusive doctor ended with an intervention from her brothers. These contracts only took Willow away for 3 months at time but they kept her on the move and from building attachments to anyone. Until Tim. Tim sparked things in her that no one had ever before. When he left her in Maine, She took a long hard look at what she wanted and what she wanted was Tim. Willow reached out to him in DC.
Tim’s return home began with an exploding bus. Things only got more complicated from there. A colleague reached to discuss a growing problem of possible contaminated chemo drugs. As the mystery grew, so did Tim and Willow’s relationship. But Willow didn’t want to stop being Willow. Just as their relationship was taking new steps, Willow was requested for a new contract position in California. It was only 13 weeks. Could Willow and Tim make it that long?
As Willow started her new job, Tim clasped 3 miles from the end of the annual marathon he ran honoring his mother. Upon examination, it was more than just the sinus infection and exhaustion Tim thought it to be. It was lymphoma. Willow had to make the choice, return home to be with Tim or risk everything to stay? Willow chooses love.
As Tim gets worse, the conspiracy to flood the market with under-effective or contaminated chemo drugs is revealed. As the players are identified, there are many surprises. Relationships are destroyed. People are not who they were thought to be. Money and power lust rule. Will Tim survive? Can their new love overcome the trials?
This one was a little heavy with all the medical jargon and procedures but it all turns out to be necessary to the story. Great recurring cast of characters. Can’t get enough of Flynn!! Love how the Chase family takes care of their own. Another fantastic addition in this series!!

Make Me Burn is the ninth book in the North Fork series by Alicia Street. This is another steamy, heart-warming, and well-written contemporary romance that has a billionaire romance element, a second chance, brother’s (ex) best friend/(ex) best friend’s little sister, forbidden, grudges, history (between MC’s), chemistry, spice, tension, emotion, intrigue, and finding love unexpectedly. As I love Ms. Street’s stories, I dove in as soon as this hit my Kindle, then pretty quickly realised that I knew this story because I had already read it a few years ago when it was part of the ‘Irresistible Weddings’ Anthology. I am definitely not sorry to have reread it again now, and have enjoyed it just as much this time round as I did when I first read it. This is Jinx D’Alessio and Logan Bennett’s story- and they take us on quite a heartwarming tale, with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting. Logan is in town for a friend’s wedding and certainly never expected to see his ex-best friend’s little sister, now all grown up and very enticing. The waters were very muddied after his falling out with her brother, but the bro-code doesn’t apply anymore- does it? – so game on. Jinx grew up having the biggest crush on Logan, but now he’s the whole package. But with her romantic history, she might be about to get burned. What happened? Well, it proved to be a very enjoyable story with plenty of heart. This is a novella length story, which made for a very quick and easy read. Happy Reading…

The characters are relatable and “real”. They could be the people in any organization in today’s world. The story is believable. This author has a great way of weaving together a story that keeps you turning the page.

Heart stopping from A to Z. From page one the dedication the incredible Alyndra Quinn informs the writer that Zachary and Ashton get there happily ever after. Only she keeps out the gut wrenching struggles it takes them to reach it. Once again, the dual perspective of Zachary and Ashton takes you on an emotional journey. While this could be read as a standalone honest book one gives the foundation that this power couple was built on and the beginning of their journey into uncharted territory together. Picks up at the end of book one. Ashton never anticipated shopping with Zachary and in an erotic wonderland she finally enjoys shopping for once. Zachary, while unsure at first about the actual relationship aspect, enjoys it more than he ever thought. She fills the part of his life he never realized was missing until she fell in his lap and filled them for him. He gives her more than she ever anticipated and flourishes under his watchful care. Until, a short three months later one miscommunication, and he falls into the clutches of heartbreak thinking it’s all been fake, built on lies for the benefit of his main rival. Ashton on the other hand is heartbroken at not knowing how to get him to listen to her, to let her explain and prove that it was all real. As quickly as everything began it starts to crumple the fires and longing, keeping them, both connected while their heads battle with their hearts. How do they reach their happy ending? Can Ashton have it all, the man, and the career? What will happen when Zachary’s rival uses what’s his as a pawn? Everything about this couple draws you in, their deep emotional longing, their acceptance and understanding and more importantly their need to be a whole person and only finding that in each other. You can’t help but drop to your knees and plead that they find their way out the other side together and stronger than ever. I cannot wait for Praise: Mastering Mischief, currently December 2024 release, to see what will happen next for Ashton and Zachary. In the meantime, I have my countdown started for book three in this incredible new series Discovering Desire, April 30th, 2024, and learn more about Derek’s story.
Intriguing, well-written mystery, though long-winded at times. I generally enjoyed this read and felt the author tied the story together well. There was plenty of intrigue and ultimately loved the way everything came together in the end. The author really pulls the reader in with the engaging writing style and with action right away.
Retired detective and curren private investigator Trueman North is a likable character, with a past, that will make a great cornerstone for this series. He is on the case to discover the killer of timpanist—even though someone is already in jail.
While the story was engaging and the main character is likable for a series starter, I did feel there were parts of the book that were wordy and read slowly and I found myself urging the story along. This isn’t overwhelmingly negative and could also be a reflection of just wanting to know what was going to happen next, but nonetheless I did feel it could be a bit more succinct in places.
Overall I recommend this as the plot and culmination of the story was very well done.

Shifters sometimes have to wait a long time to meet their fated mates. Boone watched all of his friends and family get the call and find happiness beyond what he could imagine. Cricket had heard the call once before, and began a life and family with her fated mate…and then he was taken from her. When she gets the call a second time, she immediately denies it – after all, no one had ever heard of a second chance mate before. Her love had died and she was resigned to loneliness for the rest of her days. But now, Boone has come around and is so eager for a chance with his fated mate.
As usual, human interference does nothing but cause trouble. In spite of all of the things happening on that front, Boone and Cricket are immediately drawn to one another – they are fated, after all. Will they be able to find peace, either together or apart?
This was my first read by this author and the book had a lot of activity, but it was well balanced and just added to the atmosphere. I’ll be reading more of this series.

Medical drama in Book form! I am here for it! I enjoyed all of the previous books I have read by this author and this one wasn’t any different. The main draw to this book for me was the suspense. Our main characters found out someone was tampering with chemo medication and they work together to find the culprit. It is definitely a dangerous route because the bad guy is fine with hurting people but their lives being in danger isn’t enough for them to stop trying to take them down. I enjoyed both mcs and their overall story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author! Happy Reading!

Fearless Love is the fifth installment of the Bennett’s of Langston Falls series. This small town romance featuring a single mother and another steamy Bennett brother will have you chomping at the bits. Full of steam, suspense, and family adventures Fearless Love will have all of your emotions running high. I have read this entire series and Fletcher has yet to disappoint. In fact, with every novel I love her writing more and more. She keeps you on your toes, wanting more. Her characters are full of spunk, down to heart, and memorable. I highly recommend not only this novel, but this entire series to anyone looking to fall in love with a small town family whose hearts are like gold.

As a first read by this author and the first book in a series Murder At Music Hall nailed it! The story was engaging and had a hook that I wasn’t expecting. The characters were well thought out and the plot played out nicely without being overly drawn out! I will definitely be back for more!!

For the first book in this series this author has me sucked in and waiting for more!

Basil is the first book I’ve read in the Silver Spring Pets series, or by this author in general. That being said, I had no idea what to expect. I’m a huge fan of your “typical” vampire story and was skeptical of such a unique take on the topic. I ended up really enjoying this book and the characters, especially our main female. She had a great personality and wit about her. The world building was fantastic and the story flowed from start to finish. I would definitely read more from this author in the future. Also, how gorgeous is this cover art?! (And the recipes at the very end were a fantastic addition!)

This is an interesting and definitely unique historical fiction tale with fae/paranormal steampunk elements. This is the first book that I have read by this author, but it may just be one of my favourites that I have read this year. Hood of Sedna is the first book in the Stevie Capot Chronicles. There are a lot of characters, but Mina has done well infusing them with life and quirky characteristics. I enjoyed the banter between them which had me laughing at times. This captivating twisty tale had me hooked from the start and at times emotions were high. Imagine waking and not knowing who you are, where you are and how you got there. Having to resort to doing anything to survive. Well, this is what Stevie Capot has to deal with, but she doesn’t let things keep her down she is a strong and capable woman, a badarse struggling to piece together who she is whilst keeping abreast of the danger around her. Enter three men but are they here to help or endanger her.

This was such an incredible start to this series, and I can’t wait to pick up the second book already! I love a good thrilling mystery read, so this was definitely up my alley. I really enjoyed the way the author is able to create a world you can disappear in without realizing it. I was on the edge of my seat the entire way through the book! I thought the flow of the story was magnificent and smooth, never finding myself pulled out by a misplaced sentence or abrupt change in the storyline. I don’t want to give anything away, but I was not expecting the twists and turns that occurred! I love the suspense and will be waiting on pins and needles for the next book to arrive. I highly recommend getting lost in this dark crime mystery for your weekend!

Murder at Music Hall is a dark murder mystery that will pull you in and keep you turning the pages. Trueman North is investigating an old murder case where someone was presumed to be wrongfully convicted. As the detective delves deeper into the crime, and the victim’s life, he finds things were not as perfect as they seemed originally. As secrets and pieces of information come to light, anyone can be a suspect. Who really killed the victim, and why? This was my first read from this author and while I did find some historically inaccurate things for the time period, it was not enough to pull me from the story. A delightful chapter book abounding with traditions of the Lunar New Year told from the perspective of Lorie & Weina, young Asian American sisters in New York City. The story revolves around the tradition of giving lucky red envelopes during the Lunar New Year. This year is the first time that Weina, the younger sister, is entrusted with the important job of looking after the special red sachet that holds the red envelopes. When Lorie & Weina discover that they have misplaced the sachet, they have to retrace their steps that day, including visits to Grandma’s house, the temple and the parade. Such a charming story that shares the day’s events and shows the importance of traditions, food, and family. The illustrations are delightful too and help to bring to life the story. This story would be great to aloud to young children and for chapter readers to read themselves.
This book is an intriguing mystery story that has family right at its heart. It is written in a way that draws you in slowly as the book progresses and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I wanted to know more about the family and their history. Although the mystery was a great, my favourite part of this book was the family element. It was so prevalent throughout the story and I think for me that made it more engaging and easy to connect with. I enjoyed the way the story was written and the pacing of the book. This really is a great read and I am looking forward to more books from this author.
