The cover is nice and grabs your attention. Throughout the book I really wished Ashton would embrace her self-confidence. It was a little light in the smut department. I’m hoping in book 2 she moves past some of her anxiety and insecurities. I felt like I enjoyed the side characters more than the main ones.

Treasure Hunt is Book Four in the Grandma’s Closet Series. It is a delightful children’s book that follows the adventures of a young girl named Carrie. When a potted plant arrives from the florist on Carrie’s doorstep the care instructions say to Dowse the plant. Carrie remembers that one of the boxes left in the closet when Grandma moved across town was labelled Dowse. She goes to the closet and inside the box finds two dousing rods which she uses to try to find treasure. What Carrie finds in her adventure is far more valuable than water or buried treasure. A great book with an important underlying message about what is truly important in life. I love how the author can take a simple story and make it whimsical, fun, and entertaining for children while also conveying important messages and lessons. The illustrations are colorful and really bring the story to life.

The illustrations are beautiful. I like how the book is just the right length for my son. It keeps his attention and makes him excited for story time. He likes the repeating characters and being able to recognize them.

This is an amazing book. John Stone has written a book that causes you to slow down and think.
To follow Danny through his life as his Mom, whom he lost at a very young age, guides him to remember certain things or look at situations from another’s vantage point.
I found this book to be amazing and thought provoking. All of my emotions were heightened as I laughed, worried, teared up, got angry, felt proud.
I definitely suggest reading this when you have the time to really enjoy a book, not when you are looking for an easy read, because this will leave you emotionally exhausted, in such a good way.

I truly love this wonderful author! She always brings her readers fantastic characters and captivating storylines with her amazing writing abilities. This Book was simply more of the same and had me hooked from start to finish. Piper and Wyatt (Bax) are wonderful characters who will draw you in right from the start. There is plenty of emotion and drama with a good mix of humour and passion thrown in that I just know you are going to love this book. This is book 2 so do yourself a favour and read it now as well as book one!

This is a great first book and series start. Ashton is shy in her personal life ( I find her quite strong when it comes to her job) with a hidden sassy side while Zachary is dominant, possessive and completely wants her! Quite opposite in many ways their attraction and relationship slowly comes together for them and will keep you the reader captivated. Filled with great characters this is a great read and I can’t wait to see what is next for them both.

At its core I really feel this book is about finding love and acceptance to be exactly who you are and living the life you want to live. Who doesn’t want that right? My favourite characters were definitely Lachlan and Molly, who were wonderful characters that I enjoyed getting to know all while learning a little bit about Polycules which was a new term for me. Proving “families” come in all forms this was a good read.

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn
Hidden Mischief is the first book in the Shattered Embrace Series. This is a Contemporary Romance/ Best Friends Brother Romance that once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. I actually devoured this book in one afternoon because I simply couldn’t put it down. This is a new t author to me and I’m definitely a fan now. The characters are developed, fun, semi relatable and complex. They have a mysterious side to them but bring the story to life. The d/s is something I’ve always been curious about learning more about its intriguing and exciting . I want that. Ashton and Zac oh my. He’s a sexy dom who can be a little possessive. He’s wanted by all the ladies but he only has eyes for one . Ashton is a bit shy but can be feisty and outspoken when she’s needed to be. These have the chemistry between them and it’s the slow burning kind.The buildup is totally worth it. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This was a great cozy mystery! I have just recently started to read more of this genre and was not disappointed with this one. I didn’t realize until after I started this book that this was the second one in the series but honestly felt like I was able to keep up. I plan on going back and reading the first book because I love the characters and atmosphere of the story. The author’s easy writing style made for an enjoyable read. I really really like Christy’s character and how she manages to get people to talk to her when they come into her bookstore. Also love the name of her store! This classic who done it read was right up my alley and I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

Domination. Submission. Longing and need. This is the first book I have read by Alyndra Quinn, and I am honestly struggling to organize my thoughts on her amazing talent. Hidden Mischief is the first book in a new series and part one of Ashton and Zachary’s duet.
Ashton is a scientist, everything she does is well researched, thought out and planned. Zachary is the billionaire CEO, Dom that every sub dreams of, only he doesn’t commit long term. Ashton took the biggest leap in her life applying to Shattered Embrace, the local kink club. Only she was full of doubts and fears from the start. Her best friend is co-owner and after years of carefully hiding half of her soul away from him the time has come to be her whole self. Carrie’s mom received flowers in the mail with a note on how to take care of them. As she read the note she recognized a word – dowse. She recognized that this word was on one of her Grandma’s boxes in the closet. Carrie opened the box and they had dowsing rods in it with a note that they would find treasure. She goes on a hunt for treasure and it isn’t till the end where she finds her true treasure – Grandma. Grandma also has a new box for her with no label. When Carrie asks what it is, Grandma tells her she will know when she’s ready.
I did like that keywords were highlighted to help kids with vocabulary. As a story, it was just okay. There wasn’t much explanation of what dowsing rods actually are, the story felt like it jumped from one topic to another, and then it ended without finding out what was in the box. I always feel this author’s books are discombobulated.

This was a good 4 star read. Piper has a run in with an ex that brings Wyatt to her rescue. He was so sweet and they had instant sparks. Neither of them can stop thinking about their one night but Piper has pretty big walls up after being hurt badly. Wyatt isn’t quite ready to give her up yet. Will he be able to convince Piper to give them a chance?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. I like the dual POV, I like to see what each of them are thinking. My emotions were all over the place. We get romance, steaminess, drama and so much more. The author did a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from this series. This can be read as a stand alone. 1-click and get started today.

Web of Evil is the second book in the Hani’s Daughter Mysteries series by N.L Holmes. As I mention in my review for Book #1, this series which is a direct spin-off from ‘The Lord Hani Mystery Series’ – this time following Hani’s daughter, Neferet (and friends), as she gets drawn into some intriguing mysteries.
When a body washes up on the shore of the river outside her father’s rural residence, Neferet and co are on the scene, and begin to follow the clues drawing them into a tangled web of evil.
As with the first book, this is another cozy historical mystery, set in ancient Egypt- with plenty of vivid detailing and descriptions which brought everything to life There is a definite ‘crime and investigation’ aspect to the story, a bit of a ‘whodunnit’ murder mystery that kept me engrossed as I followed along to find out what happened.
As I have come to expect from Ms. Holmes, the story is woven with wonderfully rich historical details, texture, depth, interesting characters, adventure, intrigue, suspense, dramatic developments, emotion, tension, secrets, lies, family dynamics, and danger —-

Hani’s daughter Neferet is caught up in another mystery. But like father like daughter, she can’t always know what she is going to get caught up in a web of lies and deceit.
Web of Evil is another cleverly built story in the Hani’s Daughter Mysteries a historical cosy mystery. It is full of murder, mystery, intrigue, drama, suspense, danger, secrets, lies and a lot more just waiting for you to discover. It is a bumpy ride with twisty turns that makes it hard to put down.
It is set in Ancient Egypt one of the many places I would love to visit. I love the historical details that NL knows so well and masterfully incorporates throughout this mystery. This fictional story is full of rich and vibrant and vivid and easily imagined that it seems so real.
What at first appears to be a simple task leads Nefereti and her friends in the path of a murder and are soon entangled in a nightmare as things become deadly. AS the title suggest it is definitely a web of evil.
I look forward to the next adventure.

Each time I pick up a book from this author, my family and I go on a wonderful adventure! My kids always get super excited when I let them know we’re starting a Lois Wickstrom book. This one is the third book in the Grandma’s Closet series, and I loved it just as much as the others! Carrie has a special relationship with her grandmother, so when she moved, it was a bit difficult for her. Her Grandma left some boxes behind that Carrie explores and finds dowsing rods. You’ll never guess what happens after that, but it’s an amazing tale of finding treasure in the unexpected. I highly recommend sharing this with the young ones in your life as you will enjoy it as much as they do!

This was such a lovely cozy mystery to cuddle up with over the weekend! I hadn’t read the first in the series, but I didn’t feel confused when I read this book which is the second in the series. I did enjoy this one so much that I will be picking up the first now! What else could top a great wedding and reception other than an intense crime investigation? When the list of suspects turns up someone that our main character least suspects, the plot gets even more intense! This author did an amazing job of keeping me on my toes throughout the entire story, and I loved every moment of it! I don’t want to accidentally give away any spoilers, but I will say that this is a must-read if you are looking for a cozy mystery to enjoy while bundled up with your tea!

This is the book I have read by K.G. Fletcher and I must say I am a new fan.
James has sworn off relationships after his last one ended and left a bad taste in his mouth. Sara is a travel nurse who is hired to take care of Jame’s father. Someone James did not anticipate coming into his life and having him rethink his plans for his life. The issues start with the fact Sarah has baggage or should we say secrets on top of being a single parent to a little boy. Can both overcome things to be together?
You are taken on this journey of learning how to love again even when you are scared. Learning the learn to trust one another when trouble arises. This story was a page turner for me and makes me definitely want to read more by this author.

Ruth Hartman is the author of Murder She Meowed and she has started a series of cozy mysteries. Included is your typical, fun, quirky characters that make these cozy mysteries so much fun. Murder, of course, investigations, banter, intrigue, and cats. I mean what more could you want, unless maybe you’re a dog person lol? This is book two and I had no trouble with this novel or feeling like I missed something so I feel like these can be standalone books but could possibly have details from the previous novels I missed. Super cute and definitely enjoyable.
Hay Goes Home by G Pa Rhymes

Hay the Fox is going home for his mother’s birthday. Heading out with this friends Hay finds himself a bit lost. Hay has a hard time remembering the way, but with the help of new friends he is able to get to his mom in time.
I love all the illustrations in this series. They are vibrant and only enhances the book. I thought this was a great story for children, it showcases problem solving and is a fun adventure.

My son and I love all of Lois Wickstrom’s books. This grandma’s closet series is our favorite. It has a special place for us. I think this one was our favorite so far. We loved that Carrie thought grandma was the treasure she was looking for. Her grandma says it is something else. We can’t wait to find out what the treasure really is!

I really enjoy these stories about Cray and his friends. This story about Cray’s friend Hay and the journey both of them took to attend Hay’s mother’s birthday party. The journey involved many adventures that that required Hay and Cray to work with other individuals they met on the way to solve the issues. I enjoy reading this series about Cray and her many friends. Each story has an uplifting message that I feel many children need to hear.

This is the second book of the series. It could be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first one. This book was great! I love a good Roaring 20’s story. This is a story about Suki and Frank. Suki and Frank are in a whirlwind romance. She isn’t sure if the romance is going to work or not. Frank is one of Al Capone’s men. After a shooting at the club Suki works at, Frank takes care of her. Suki isn’t used to being take of the way Frank is. Frank wants Suki as his girl. Will they make their relationship work?

This book is an action packed story that is full of suspense from start to finish. It is an exciting book to read that is fast paced and interesting the whole way through. The book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. However, I would definitely recommend reading them all because they are all great reads.
The characters in the book have a great chemistry. I loved watching their relationship develop as they tried to uncover a mystery. The author has written the book with pace and knows how to keep your attention the whole way through. This is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a refreshing and original story that really caught my attention. It combines so many different elements to create an interesting and engaging story. I was pulled into it from the moment I started reading and I loved watching how the author developed it throughout the book.
My favourite part of the book however was the characters. I thought it was a fantastic combination of characters and it wasn’t just the main characters I enjoyed reading about. Everyone had their role and they intertwined so well. The author has successfully created a brilliant book and I am looking forward to reading more.
Savage Truth by Isla Vaughn

Holy rollercoaster ride! There was SO much packed into this book. I have read all of the previous installments and couldn’t put this one down towards the end. When you learn the history and background of all the characters, and the story all falls into place, you won’t be able to put it down. Every single character in this book has some type of character development and while this is a “high school romance” it doesn’t feel that way. I love Riley. I think she is a great main character. She’s very intuitive and hardly goes against what she is feeling. She has a great head on her shoulder. Cole’s transformation was incredible to see as he started to be honest with himself. While this book does have a little bit of spice to it, the storyline really takes the cake.
