Buddy is fitting in with his new family and his friendly cat friends. The only hitch in his new life is a mysterious visitor at night getting into the garbage. His family thinks it is him, Buddy comes up with a plan though to catch the culprit but not everything is as it seems.

I thought this was a wonderful story and I think children can learn something with this one. In a time where we often have knee jerk reactions on who, what, when, where, and why it makes you take pause and look at the whole picture. Buddy stories are quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

The story effectively conveys the important message that patience is key to achieving our goals. Through Buddy’s adventures, children are encouraged to embrace the process of waiting for the perfect moment for you. Im was so happy he found his forever home sooo adorable.Looking forward to reading more 🥰

Good Things Take Time is part of the Buddy the Blue Corgi series. My son and I really enjoy these books. The puppy is adorable and his cat brothers are too. Buddy tells us a little about his history growing up on a farm before being adopted. We see several times Buddy not being picked and how sad he gets. There is even a page with his big ol puppy dog eyes! But Momma says it’s just not his time, and the book had a happily ever after.

Decisions Matter is a cute children’s book with a lesson to be learned. The characters and illustrations are so adorable. The struggle surrounding being a “tattletale” is tough for kids of all ages. I love the example presented in this story and how to solve it. The quote at the end is a good lesson, and I was happy the author included some non-bible quotes.

This is the second book I have read to my granddaughter about Buddy the corgi. This little book talks about being adopted and having patience for your time. Such a great message. The illustrations and colors in this book are as fantastic as the 1st book. We can’t wait to read more of these books!

Buddy is a blue corgi who is different because he is blue. He gets upset about being different but is taught by his mother that it’s ok to be different. It is such a great lesson for little ones! Although this book is about Buddy, the lessons can and should be learned by everyone. The illustrations are fantastic. The colors are bright and bold and very eye-catching.

It’s such a great, fast-paced, fantastic short read. This book is short but reads like a full novel. So much is going on with nothing missing. You have pixies, hunters, shifters, witches, and laments. You have mystery, killings, betrayal, magic, and crime.
I loved Belladonna and Rene. I can’t wait to see how this plays out and learn more about the other main characters. Another win!

What a start to this series from author Lee Wood!
James Sheldon had it all. A successful career and a beautiful family. One day his world is shattered. He ends up homeless and living on the streets. His life is changed 18 months later when he wins the lottery. In the blink of an eye he’s thrown into a world of crime bosses and dangerous criminals. Will he be able to survive and follow through with his plans to help hundreds of families?
I enjoyed this first book of the series. I found the first few chapters a bit choppy and it hard to follow how they fit in the book. Once they got to James’ story, it started to fit and make sense. From there it was easy to follow even with all the twists and turns. This book was truly good versus evil! And what I thought was a good dose of karma. I can’t wait to start reading the rest of the series!

Corpse Pixie by Sinister Styx – Review by Jessica Stone

So first off this is the first book that I’ve read from this author. It is a shorter story I believe less than 100 pages, so it is a quick read. Honestly I could’ve easily read 280 more pages so I’m really looking forward to the next books and the series.

I’m pretty impressed with the amount of detail the author was able to squeeze into such a short story you got to know the characters pretty well and she portrayed their emotions (which were pretty high) really well. I really enjoyed the mmc, Rene he had some interesting character development. Right off the bat he’s drowning in his grief so his turn around and “redemption” in this book is very satisfying.
I could use ALOT more back story on Belladonna though or fmc, she is a half pixie half necromancer, and while you do get to know her and her end goals, I would love to find out what her history is.

I feel like this book was a pretty bigger teaser, it was well written, giving enough information about the world and characters to move the story along smoothly but holding back just enough to keep the reader wanting more. I’m ready for a full length novel with more from these characters and the supernaturals in this world, so here’s to hoping this author delivers. Even without getting another longer book I would recommend this quick and fun read for any one in a rut or in need of a pallet cleanser. It’ll get the job done and then some!

I have never read any of Lee Wood’s books and was quite surprised at this one. I started hesitant because there are several characters introduced at once and you start a little unsure of what is happening. That changes quickly once the pieces of everyone’s lives start to run together. I love how this book is written, it makes you really think while you’re reading about how it is all connected. It’s a sad story that ends in an uplifting way and shows that you truly never know how each our lives can change or connect at any given moment. I highly recommend and I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

This book is such a lovely way to teach kids that “home” does not mean the same thing to everyone, and each one looks different. This is the kind of thing my daughter knows, but probably didn’t have much awareness of and I liked the fact that this book allowed for that discussion to occur naturally.
The illustrations really helped to bring this book to life. They are what really got both my kids interested in the story and kept them invested the whole way through. We have read a few books by this author now but I think, overall, this is one of our favourites. This is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend for young children.

While discovering the truth of their countries past, the cadets soon learn “The Game” played at school could soon turn real, as The Embers emerge to try and change the government and country. The story told in multiple POV’s allows you to get to know each character better, especially as there is a lot of world building.

I grabbed this because the title and the cute cover images drew my interest. Sadly upon opening I felt we were already mid story and I was unsure what was going on. I flipped back and forth thinking I missed the beginning but nope. So I was not a fan of that. The story being told is about being picked on and the aggression towards someone else and seems okay as well.

On the other hand, the images are adorable all throughout. The expressions on the characters faces are a nice addition. That portion was well done.

If you like reading about underground streets, Human vs Non-human, portals, appearance changes, “life energies” this book is for you!

Abby has a secret the whole town is about to find out about. Her ancestor just happens to be the villain in all the stories of the town’s founding. Joe has spent the last several years delving into the history of Herd and feels like he has a good handle on what happened all those years ago, but he is missing something. He does not like Abby from the moment he meets her. There is a vibe that she is not being completely honest about who she is. When Joe is proven right in that Abby was in fact hiding who she truly was, is it too late to get her side of the story? Has his animosity toward her pushed her too far? Will she stick it out in Herd and prove that she is more than her ancestor’s mistakes?

I enjoyed this story. The characters in Herd depict small town living at its best and worst. Everyone knows everyone else’s business and they are loyal to a fault. However, betray that trust and instantly a person can be shut out. I found Abby learning the hard way, because she never stuck around long enough anywhere to have to fight for her right to stay, to be inspiring. I appreciated the way that Joe found his victory to be hollow and needed to reevaluate himself to find that he was at fault and also culpable in how the town responded. Of course, it would have been nice if he had realized it sooner, but then there wouldn’t be this fun book to read! I will miss reading about Herd, Montana and secretly hope that there are more books!!

Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest for Love is a novelette that takes place following the events of Pride and Prejudice. I would say it will be more enjoyable and easier to follow for readers who have read or watched Pride and Prejudice and are already familiar with the characters and their backstories. It’s a charming romance that follows Georgiana’s and her family’s attempts to find her an appropriate suitor.

This is an enjoyable read for fans of Pride and Prejudice who want to imagine what the future could hold for Georgiana. We catch up with many familiar characters and meet new ones as the Darcys host a party to connect with local families.

For me, this is a four star read. It’s a fun, short book that I could see readers adding on to the end of their Pride and Prejudice reread/rewatch.

A slow burn romance, with a country vibe is the treat you’re in for with this book.

Unmasking a Cowgirl is the third book in the Match Made in Montana series by Rachelle Paige Campbell. It is a sweet, clean, cozy, slow-burn, contemporary romance with a small-town ‘western’ element, enemies to lovers, secret identity, angsty drama, emotion, intrigue, and tension.
Abby Whit and Joe Staunch make their dislike of one another pretty clear right from the get-go. There is no love lost between the two, and I really didn’t like Joe much at all to begin with. But thankfully, he did win me over in the end. Abby is no meek little wall flower, so Joe had his work cut out for him. But they eventually find a common ground, and feelings begin to ‘brew’. But what has Abby been hiding? And what happens when secrets are revealed? Add some tension, emotion, and intrigue- and this small-town romance just got a whole lot more interesting.
Even though this is the third instalment in the series, it could be read as a standalone if you wanted, as each instalment focuses on its own couple.

A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper is a YA story with plenty of teen angst & drama, friendship, family, crushes/clean romance/love triangle-ish, fun, humour, quirky characters, banter, and sweet details.
As I have mentioned many times before, Ms. Cooper is a talented storyteller who has the ability to create wonderfully quirky, relatable characters and interesting plots that usually have some ‘hidden’ layers/messages to them, which never fail to draw me into her ‘worlds’.
As expected, this is a sweet story that mixes teen issues with some fun and a little emotion.
Another enjoyable read from her. Looking forward to more from Ms. Cooper!

Having read a couple of books by this author and loving them, picking this one up was a no brainer. My kiddos and I were particularly excited to see Buddy the Blue Corgi as we have a “different” blue merle corgi of our own! It felt like this book was made just for us, so we dove in straight away.

Buddy learns he is different than the rest of his family and gets upset. Who wants to feel left out? Fortunately, Buddy’s mom helps him understand the beauty of being unique. The lessons taught here are wonderful, and the illustrations are beautiful! I’m excited to continue this series with my kids to see what new conversations it inspires in our home. I highly recommend adding this book to your collection – whether at home, in a school, or at a daycare!

I had previously read one book by this author and loved it so much that I eagerly picked up another. The cover is absolutely charming, and the story is just as delightful. The author held my attention from the very first page to the very last. This clean YA romance features wonderfully developed characters, with Holland standing out as an inspiring female teenage lead. The secondary characters are equally impressive. I also found myself giggling loudly in more than a few places, which is such a pleasant surprise! The narrative flows beautifully, unfolding at a natural pace. If you are searching for a clean YA romance then don’t miss this one. I can’t wait to read more books by this author as their writing style is addictive!

We read this book tonight before bed and we all enjoyed reading it. The book is both engaging and educational, making it an excellent choice for early readers and families. The illustrations are colorful, engaging, helping children visualize the different settings and experiences of the words described. It introduces the notion that home can mean different things to different people, encouraging empathy and understanding because people enjoy different settings at home . The book’s descriptive text and fun font make reading each page enjoyable. Can’t wait for more from author Kim Ann.

Mr Lucky is told from various characters viewpoints and can be confusing at the beginning until you work out who fits where. The threads all come together with a bang and everything makes sense in the end.
It is a fast paced story featuring James Sheldon, a hard working police officer who has a great life with young family and wife he adores. When tragedy strikes he loses everything and finds himself lost in the bottle and homeless. A chance encounter brings salvation and the opportunity to help others, but also brings him into the firing line of Dave Rex.
Dave Rex starts as a small time criminal but transitions into a big player in the London drug supply chain. He has big plans that are thwarted by an accidental encounter with James, leading to retribution plans.
This was a very satisfying thriller and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Unmasking A Cowgirl is Book 3 in the Match Made in Montana series….this is a enemies to lovers, small town slow burn clean romance with secrets, tension, drama. Overall an enjoyable story and while this could be read as a stand-alone, I do recommend reading this series in orders and get to know the characters as they are entwined. One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers and I love that this story of Joe and Abby delivered….although Joe was not my favorite character at first.

Abby is holding a secret and feels once it is know and out she feels like she will have so many people upset with her. Joe is trying to find out whom Abby is all about….and is distant and a bit gruff at times. When secrets are revealed will the attraction between Abby and Joe be able to overcome this obstacle…or will Abby have to leave Herd, Montana…..

This is a very good story and my favorite so far in this series. I am looking forward to the next book!!

A Tale of Two Crushes is a fun clean YA tale with quirky and engaging characters. Holland and her friends are adorable, and the story is filled with the usual emotions, angst, humour, and eye-rolling moments. The story is told from the perspective of a teenage girl who moves to a new town and school, navigating new friendships and catching the eye of two boys. There’s plenty of wit and banter as Holland finds herself enamoured with the two boys, even when they’re acting like two-year-olds. The story also delves into her relationships with her family as she grows into herself. If you’re looking for something light and easy to read, this book is perfect for you.

Rachelle’s Unmasking A Cowgirl is the third book in the Match Made in Montana series. It is a sweet slow-burn romance set in a small town where everyone knows everyone.
Joe was one character that I disliked at first, but he did redeem himself later in the book, but Abby gave him his just deserts and it was unexpected but when she did it I felt vindicated. You go girl. The tension between the two is palpable.
