This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help with your enjoyment of this author and her characters. One of the things I enjoyed most about this story is how the characters pulled me into their world from the start. They have great growth and chemistry. They are connectable and add so much to the story. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout. This is a story about secrets, romance with a touch of suspense. The secrets that these two have could be the breaking point for them.. I found this story to be well written and hard to put down. A fast paced, engaging story that you don’t want to miss out on. I really enjoyed reading this story and I highly recommend it.

The Alien and the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie Leilphun is on the run. He lands on Earth close to a crime boss. Lucky for him, the crime boss also needs him. What looks like a relationship built on convenience quickly becomes more for the two. This love is action packed with danger. I found it to have an original storyline compared to the other sci fi alien stories I’ve read, and will stand out among others. It took me a little time to like Kasper, but I like Leilphun immediately. While reading this story, I felt the full range of emotions – fear, worry,dread, sadness, happiness, peace with an outcome, and anticipation. Great job with the plot and characters!
Exiled by Aurora Hunter Aztlan and Zaya’s romance was one of my favorites of the sci-fi I’ve read. Maybe it was because she was older or maybe because she was cynical of the whole thing. I liked that the author presented the prejudice she had against aliens as well. I thought that was original. It’s always interesting how the different cultures unfold to me, and this one was great. Aztlan and Zaya have great chemistry, and the plot was set up really well. If you aren’t sure you will like the sci-fi reads, this one is a great one to start with.

A cultural fantasy adventure The third book in the series finds Tally immersed in Japanese history as they navigate the mystery surrounding Yothu and Miyu. Colourful, engaging, suspenseful and entertaining with a touch of paranormal- everything a pre-teen would want in a book. This was a great addition to the series. Recommend.

In this adventure we see Tally as she finds her way into a world of Japanese history. It is the third book in the Tally and the Angel series. The family story is aimed for tweens those between the ages of 9 – 13 years. This book is a paranormal fantasy tale, with plenty of action, mystery, danger, drama, suspense, long-buried curse, challenges, mythical beings and much more. Tally is on to the next adventure and a beautiful backdrop of Japan in a race against time. Where a ghostly queen, a mysterious Japanese Angel, samurai warriors and a cursed drum all play a part in Tally’s new journey. It is a story of bravery, friendship, and travel. Tally, and her offsider Jopheil once again have their work cut out for them. Eleanor makes it easy to read and very easy to imagine the world she has created. I would highly recommend this book, and this series, to anyone who enjoys reading tweens adventure books.

The Promised Plan is a few very short stories and poems by Sharon Hughson. It is an intriguing and heartfelt journey through death and loss, relationships. It’s every mothers wish for all her children to get along but being a realist you know that with very different personalities that it is not always the case. One mother’s dying wish and last-ditch effort to reunite her family doesn’t go ahead as planned when her time comes up. There is heartache and heartbreak, pain and sorrow, angst and hope, guilt and grief, redemption and reconciliation, secrets and lies, forgiveness. Losing a mother will either make or break sibling relationships and often comes with the guilt of things left unsaid, things you wished you had done and the wish for things to be better. Will they follow through and make one woman ’s final wish come together, or will the secrets and guilt keep them from mending boundaries? The story is well written, and Sharon makes the characters feel real. It is easy to get lost in the story and feel their emotions. Travel along with three women who struggle to open themselves up and regain what once was. You won’t be disappointed.

Oh my goodness, this author amazes me with her talent at telling such amazing and fun stories. This retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk has Priscilla and the Giant’s wife trading beans for Golden Eggs. The magic beans turn out to be self-sustaining. I found the characters quite entertaining. I do love how her characters are positive and not horribly scary. There is always a lesson to learn. The pictures are quite beautiful and the story is fun to read. My family votes this as another winner. It will be added to our collection.
Oh, how I enjoyed this story. The mystery of what Miyu and Yoshi were up to. Miyu is a troubled girl. Tally and Jophiel have their hands full. Kumi, the tannen, is a delightful addition. I found the storyline with it’s suspense and mystery to be a treat. I did miss Tally’s dad interactions in the story this time. We got to learn abit about the Japanese culture, which is really neat to learn about. I loved the characters. Tally is sure a pretty strong character. Brace and full of courage for her age. Loved this book.

This book is an inspiration sent to bless lives. It is a book that will have you feeling many emotions. I will tell you to keep tissue nearby. I love good, clean writing that is meant to inspire. This novel brings two sisters together with the help of Marci, the daughter of one of the sisters and the help of their mother. We all have baggage and there is no shortage of it in this book. Issues have happened and feelings have been hurt. It’s time to fix things. I love the premise of the story. I love how it was written in short stories. Marci is a wonderful and strong character trying to make sure her grandmother’s wishes are carried out. I loved this story and it will be going in my personal library. It reminded me of my mom and was a wonderful read for Mother’s Day 2023.

This is a great read! It is entertaining, engrossing and delightful! I absolutely loved the story and the characters. The idea for the story is enticing but the execution of the story is out of the ordinary. The author did an amazing job creating these different planes of existence for the reader to travel to. This is set mainly on earth but with visits to others spaces. Their realms are creatively done. The antique store that Jade moves into was interesting to say the least. I would love to browse upstairs and downstairs for hours. Seeing who or what treasures are around.
The characters are imaginative! I loved Jade! She is smart and snarky. She doesn’t knows everything but is willing to learn. Baal is sneaky and keeps a lot of truth to himself. We meet different shifters, fairies, elves, witches and many others. They all have depth and are wonderfully written.
Overall this is a engaging, entertaining story and I throughly loved! The story is well written and easily kept my interest. The characters are delightful and inviting ( well most of them). I would love more in this realm!

Corpse Pixie is a Dark Paranormal Romance that is a short story that is packed with, magic, drama, murder, greed, and pixie dust. This authors style of writing and her attention to detail along with her creative yet supportive and fully developed characters make for one heck of a ride. From the moment I started reading I knew this was going to be a hell of a ride. I couldn’t stop reading even if I wanted to there was no putting it down. This may be short but holy cow what a punch it throws and the twists and turns had me on edge trying to figure out what was going to happen next. René is suffering from the loss of his twin sister’s murder. He will stop at nothing to find the killer but what will happen when he starts seeing a silhouette in his dreams? Belladonna for years has been trying to keep herself safe by hiding out. But when bodies start showing up in her forrest something has to be done. Can Belladonna and Rene’ find the killer? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

What an interesting take on the story of Adam and Eve. This book grabbed my attention in the first chapter and never let me go until it was over. I usually don’t listen to this genre, but I think I have been missing out. Ms. Darling weaves a brilliant tale of mythical perfection. This is the first time I have listen to a book narrated by John Walker, but definitely won’t be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed his voice and look forward to finding more to listen to this narrator. Definitely looking forward listening to more from both the author and the narrator.

I have loved this entire trilogy! Each story is unique on its own with such brilliant writing. Mitch and Lauren’s story was no exception to that. I spent my school life in a girls’ boarding-school specialising in classical ballet and on leaving I danced professionally, touring Europe, for 4 years. After that, I ran my own ballet school in Athens, Greece for several years and simultaneously volunteered as a veterinary nurse, as my love of animals is the driving force in my life. I returned to England with my horse and my cat, and now live on a smallholding in Shropshire with my husband, various farm animals and a constant stream of pets.
I started writing while in Greece and completed a Creative Writing Course with the Writers’ Bureau. The same year, I won an annual competition in the Writing Magazine for an adult Fairy Story.
On my return to England, I wrote two children’s books, but my new life, caring for Highland Cattle, sheep, hens, and pets, coupled with extensive global travel, meant that writing for publication took a back seat. I continued my love of writing with a daily journal and amusing travel blogs of each trip.
I am now writing full time and THE GRACEFUL GHOST was my first self-published book. It was shortlisted for the UK Selfies 2021 Award and draws on my own experiences in ballet-boarding-school and early teenage life. Book two, Ballet School Boys, introduces boys to the school and book three, Ballet School Rumours continues their adventures with the resident ghosts, Grace and Rodney.
I am also working on a six-book series called TALLY AND THE ANGEL. Tally and her angel’s first adventure takes them to India. In the second book they go to Canada, in North Yukon and the third in Japan. I intend them to have adventures in Greece, Egypt, Peru – anywhere I have been, really. Each book has an extra story woven into it because every chapter starts with a paragraph telling the back story of one of the mystical elements of the story. Book One tells the story of Jophiel, the Angel. Book Two tells the story of Auric, the Spirit of Gold.

First time reader of this talented author, Carol McKibben. This is the 2nd Book The Silver Blood Knight series. I started this series on this book not realizing this was the second one lol. I ran to go get the first book after I finished reading this. It was a quick read but although it was short, man it was amazing. The world the author builds is so fantastic. It really draws you in and makes you believe you’re there. It has almost everything you’d want in a supernatural story. I can’t wait to finish the first book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Cecily in the City. The author wrote a book that pulls at the heartstrings. About a girl’s rise to fame while losing everything she holds dear in her personal life. The growth of her character as a seventeen year old was written beautifully. Cecily wanted to be an actress and would do everything to reach that goal. She started modeling, because she was told that was her step in the door. But she feared that her association with her popstar boyfriend Andrew would be what everyone thought of her. That she didn’t do any of the hardwork on her own. A snow storm in NYC was really what hot her foot in the door to her dreams. But it also lost her Andrew. So what happens next? How does Cecily navigate her new career without her rock, Andrew? I would classify this book as YA, but as an adult I still enjoyed it. So don’t let YA scare you. Take a chance you might be surprised. I haven’t read the first two books, so I might just have to now. However it still works well as a standalone novel.

Raising Elle hits a little close to home, on a ptsd front. I liked it but it could be a trigger for anyone who has been through abuse. Though that part was hard it wasn’t the big picture, so I pushed through it. And I’m glad I did. The 2 main characters the author has written are definitely going in the same but different directions. They are both running, but one is running to take her life back. While other is running his life into the ground. Ellie and Blake were best friends growing up. She lifted him up. Gave him confidence. Made him believe he could do anything, but then she left. Ellie tried to get Blake’s attention but he ran from her, so she left. Now she’s back and they are working together. Will this bring them back to each other? Will Blake finally realize he’s better than the life he’s leading? The author wrote a story with some heavy themes. Heavy themes that could set anyone off. However I am one of those people and I made it through and I’m happy I did. I did not let it let me enjoy this story. It’s time for you to enjoy it too!

I thought the romance was realistic and chemistry was off the charts. I could easily see this being a real story the way it unfolded. Ace, who is scarred, has some internal healing to do as well. I thought this character development was great. Loved the story and could not put it down!

At the beginning of this story, we see a girl who is lost and hates the life she is living. I think everyone can relate at needing a change of scenery. I found this to be so relatable. It made me feel for Lily, and I was cheering her on as I read. The romance that blooms between her and Jake takes off, and they have great chemistry. I also love the secondary characters. The characters and the setting really grow on you in this novel and it continues thru series. My only gripe about Lily is that sometimes she acted childish and naïve like when she turned away from Jake’s kisses twice, but was upset when he did the same thing. I just found it unrealistic. Other than that – great plot, great characters, great romance!

What a great novella. Honestly I typically stay away from novellas because we often see them rushed/ lacking info that would benefit the story but this author slays novellas. This story packed a heck of a punch being well rounded, thrilling and mysterious with the supernatural mixed in. I was head over heels for the characters, the ideas and I read it as fast as humanly possible! The story line is brilliant and I know I’m going to have a hard time finding something to read that illicits the same feels for a while!

This was a great 5 star read. I am really enjoying this series. I was pulled in right from the beginning. My emotions were all over the place. We get secrets, lies and so much more in this bully romance. I really liked Riley and Cole, their story kept me on the edge of my seat. I needed to see what was going to happen with them. What would happen when the secrets came out? Would they end up together or be apart? Cole tested my emotions like a typical man. We also get some steamy moments. I really enjoyed their story and I can’t wait to read the others’ stories. The author does a great job with her writing. Bring on the next book, asap. I absolutely loved this book! I do need to read the prequel to get the full story. I could not put this book down. Riley and her mom do not stay in the same place for long. Her dad wants to hurt her mom. They move to a town that they stopped at a year ago. On the first day of school, the high school God named Cole starts pestering Riley. Cole cannot forget about Riley. They shared a kiss at a party a year before. When he sees her after all this time, he starts picking on her . He can’t let anyone know that he has feelings for the new girl right off the bat. I’m ready to read book two.

Corpse Pixie wasn’t what I imagined it would be. It’s definitely original and interesting. There aren’t any heroes in this book (in my opinion) just lesser of a few evils. It’s a short book. You can read it in a few hours. It’s a page turner. I’ve never read a book with so many hybrid supernatural characters. I really hope there will be more like this one. There’s romance but it’s hard to describe what it’s like. It’s not hallmark movie romance and it kinda creeps up on the characters. I think my favorite character is Seraphine. She seems so interesting and I hope we get to learn more about her life.

This book of poetry was a nice change from what I usually read. The author touches on all sorts of issues we see everyday in our lives. The poems painted pictures for me.

Corpse Pixie was a quick rollercoaster of emotions from Sinister Styx! I’m not sure how they fit in so much detail and emotion in such a short read, but they did an amazing job. You’ll find plenty of dark, paranormal romance scenes here with murder, crime-solving, grief, and more! I was surprised by not only being gripped by the very first page but speeding through what felt like a very involved book. I highly recommend picking this up if the darker side of paranormal is your groove. I can’t wait to see what other adventures Sinister Styx has for us!
