The artwork in this book is absolutely beautiful. This book is so fun to read to kids, because as an adult the names the author has given these pigs had me giggling. I love that Half-Pint Porky is all geared up to go to pirate school and whines about how she hates waiting, yet when it is her time to go she would rather stay home because she scared. She soon realizes that school isn’t so bad with friends around. Great children’s book!

This was a great psychological thriller from the start. I do want to say; however, this book is very, very dark and that it may be too much for some people…please know this going in. I really liked how Maynard just threw us into the characters lives…we didn’t get a backstory, we were just submerged into the middle of a violent (but not particularly gruesome) episode between Tony and his father. I will say that in the beginning I felt sorry for Tony, but as the story goes on I really grew to not like him at all (which I think is the point). There are so many twists and turns throughout this book that sometimes you feel like your head is spinning, but Maynard does eventually get everything back on track 🙂 I would recommend this book, but with caution.

Beautifully illustrated. I think young ones will get a hoot out of the pirate language used throughout the story.

After I read Finding Starlight, the first book in the Quimby Grove Series, I couldn’t wait to read Chasing Redemption, the second in the series. This book did not disappoint! Shannon Nikole has once again written a beautiful story. After they have a nameless encounter on the beach, Marley Halligan and Max Quinn seem to have gone on with their lives. Unbeknownst to Marley, Max has always wondered about the one that got away. When fate intervenes, Marley and Max are face to face and the spark is still there; can a surprise from Marley and a string of unusual events in Quimby Grove keep them together or tear them apart. These characters are well written, and the twists and turns keep happening from beginning to the end, making it hard to put down.

This was such a wonderful story. I wanted to read this book in one sitting, but I also didn’t want it to end. Finding Starlight, brings Ellawyn Calloway finds herself in Quimby Grove, Pennsylvania starting a new life after leaving the old one behind. Ellawyn finds solace at Starlight bookstore and café. She befriends Benji the store’s owner; who lets her work on her art. When Benji asks his grandson, Beckett to return to Quimby Grove to help out at Starlight, Ellawyn finds herself befriending Beckett. This was a great gripping crime Thriller. I just couldn’t put it down. It is 3rd book in the Benoit and Dayne Mysteries. It can be read as a standalone however I get the feeling if you read the series you get better understanding of the characters which is what I plan on doing. The author has wrote a story that is full of twists and turns so you never know what’s coming. There are loads of secrets and shady characters to keep you guessing about who is commiting these crimes.
When a young woman is found murdered on Halloween that is bad enough but when the resemblance is uncanny to a murder that happened 25 years ago on that same date things take a sinister turn. Is that killer still active? Is it a copycat? One thing that Deputy Dayne knows is they need to find this person fast. However things aren’t that simple. With it being a small town everyone knows everyone and with the current sherrif and another deputy having links to one of the previous victims it’s hard to find people who can look at this case with unbiased eyes. Add to this the deception and lies being told by people further up the chain of command and it makes this already tricky and dangerous case even harder. Who can Deputy Dayne trust? Who can work on this case that doesn’t have some link to the previous case? Who is involved and how will they react when they realise that Dayne is on their trail?

Another fantastic book from this author! I really love her writing style and have enjoyed many of her books and love how versatile she is when writing. This book was a brilliant read, I really enjoyed it. I love a good dark romance and this one definitely delivered on that front! I absolutely loved Lu and Nikolai! Lu was a wonderful, independent female lead but she also still had that small amount of vulnerability to make her need someone in her life. Nikolai was a strong male lead but again he had this side to him that wasn’t overpowering and he realised that he needed to let Lu have her independence but be there when she needed him. there was so much chemistry between the two of them and the author really made this come alive in the story! Overall a fantastic dark romance and one that I would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book, the story was engaging and I liked reading about the characters. I think I might be a little bit in love with Cutter – he was so dreamy! I loved how he was so fiercely protective of Zarifah. They had such a genuine connection and I loved reading their story. There was a good mix of romance, suspense and acti0on – it’s definitely one of those stories that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. This book is quite short being a novella but I don’t think the story was lacking in anyway – I would have loved a longer read just because I loved the characters so much and would happily have read more about them! Overall a great read with lovely characters! A definite must read!

So this book was a little out of my comfort zone, it contained quite a few tropes I like or love and some I’m not so sure about but the synopsis sounded good so I thought I would give it a go and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I loved Stella! It so refreshing to read about plus size characters and she just oozed sexiness and confidence – I just honestly loved her so much. There was so much chemistry between all of the characters and it felt genuine. I think the author is very upfront about the kind of content in the story so it’s quite clearly this is intended for a mature audience only! Overall this was a great read, full of hot and steamy encounters and wonderful characters! I wouldn’t hesitate to read another book by this author again in the future.

This book is book two of the series. This book can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read book one (which I need to rectify very quickly) but didn’t feel lost reading book two.
Max and Marley met by chance. Marley is done. Who in their right mind asks their ex to coordinate their wedding. Marley stumbles upon Max on the beach as she’s trying to escape it all. She didn’t expect the repercussions of her one night stand with Max. She also never expected to run into him again even though Max couldn’t ask for more. Max wants another shot. Max and Marley try finding their spark but is it still there?
This book pulls you in right from the start! I was sucked in. There is a bit of mystery which also keeps you reading. I really enjoyed this book. Marley is a great character. I really enjoyed following her story. Max is great too. Overall, very well written!

First book by this author and holy hell did I love it! I can’t wait to read the next one! Vaughn is a true alpha male and he loves control! And xena loves it! She’s his sisters best friend! Which is a trope I absolutely love. The spice, steam…HOT. The descriptions and the way the author describes every detail is absolutely amazing. I felt so many feelings while reading this book and that’s what I love. If you can make me feel happy, sad, angry, on edge, turned on…that’s a great book in my opinion. The chemistry between Vaughn and Xena is amazing and I’m so glad I read this book! Huge page Turner for me.
If you love murder stories, suspense, mystery…this book is for you! Trying to catch a killer, even YEARS later? Count me in! This book kept me on my toes and I loved the entire read. Kept me interested I didn’t realize how fast I made it through this book. The characters, the plot..all great. And I love a book with tons of dialogue and this book delivered that. Super quick read for me because I couldn’t put it down! I’ll be checking out more of this authors work!

When I started reading this book , I was expecting romance and a fairy tale ending, but humor is something which got me by surprise. 16 year old Rhia is to be married off to the youngest son of the king as her father , the Mayor has trouble managing the territory. The king threatens to wipe off the territory and an alliance is the only thing which can save him from the doom. Rhia and the King’s youngest son Emerys have nothing in common. Rhia likes to get her hands dirty in everything , she is a hard worker with a tough mind where as Emerys is very polished and soft. Will just a “I do” save their marriage? Will they be able to save the land from the King’s clutches? This summarizes the plot of the book. I loved the way it is written, there are a lot of funny expressions, which I really enjoyed. It is a royalty “rom-com”. Sit down, have a drink and enjoy the book.

When Tripp accidently gets a taste of his forbidden fruit, he can’t stay away but doesn’t know how to be with her or how to be without her. Tripp has to battle a few of his own demons before he can slay Soleil’s.
Fan-damn-tastic!! The revelation of secrets and the pace of the book. The characters, the family, the love, the friendships are amazing. I luv that as you get updated on the characters from previous novels, they aren’t all sunshine and roses. Yes, they are still together but they are still facing challenges of everyday life together, like being together and making it work. I really hope the next book is Tillie’s because I have to know if Torin has known about her Mr. X all this time or when he found out. Looking forward to the next one!! Phenomenal series!!

This was my first Fear experience. I was just reading along in a typical romance story when WHAM!! Curve ball out of left field. All of sudden there was all this action and drama. Completely unexpected but amazing. Sure no one wants that to happen to their loved ones but it was necessary to make Kasper realize his love for Krysta and to make it real for Tank. This short, intense story was fantastic. The characters are real and relatable. The steam is steamy. The family is wonderful. I plan to keep Fear in my life and on my TBR list.
Jasmine has a hard life; she hasn’t let that slow her down though. She co-owns and runs ‘Divine Events’ with her best friend Candance. They plan and host events for the social elite. James is a member of one of the most prominent families in New England. His past is scattered with bad decisions and failed ventures. He has cleaned up his act but in order to get the financing for his new venture he has to marry. Candace and him have come to an arrangement, get married and then a quickly divorce. What could go wrong? Jasmine gets kissed by a stranger; the kiss was the best she had experianced and it knocked her for a loop. She is shocked to learn her best friend’s fiance and the man you kissed her are one in the same, What is she going to do, she is to serve as their wedding planner. Will the wedding go through? Who will James pick? Is there a way to find everyone a happily ever after? You’ll have to read to see, but I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This was the first book by Sheats that i have read; I really enjoyed it. I loved the main characters and how they interacted with each other as well as the bit of background given. I actually would have like a bit more background details, not have them does not take from the book. The story was a quick, easy read which flowed well I would reccomand this book to friends.

Eckardt County has had a certain unsolved case for decades now. The current sheriff Elizabeth, has spend a good part of her career trying to lock up those she knows are involved. She lost her best friend and she knows the ex-sheriff is guilty some how. She just doesn’t have the hard evidence to make it stick though! The death of a young girl in similar circumstances, brings back a chilling feeling of deja vu that opens up the old case again 25 years later. With two dead in the cold case and another dead now, the community is in a state of unrest. When a key witness is kidnapped, the bigger picture starts to unfold. But then prominent members of the community start disappearing, including Elizabeth’s sister, and it’s time to put these cases to bed once and for all. Unfortunately for Elizabeth she just had surgery, so stepping back and letting Detective Lila take the lead is needed, but she can’t keep away. She doesn’t want to! Lila is worried about the legal consequences of those to close to the case, but she’s having trouble lining the clues up to a suspect. Trying not to get tunnel vision with the two cases is hard when all fingers are pointing to crooked town officials. This book is backed full of suspense. I didn’t realize when I started this book that it was part of a series, so I read it as a stand alone. The book did reference some stuff that happened in the previous book, but I was able to understand where the characters were coming from in most cases. I am excited to read the other parts to the set though! It will give me a clearer view. But the book was great alone! I wouldn’t recommend reading it alone, but it can be done. I personally want the rest of the stories!!

A story about patience for children. What a great story line. My grandchildren loved reading Half-Pint Porky’s story. She was so ready to start school, but when the big day came. Everything changed even though she was excited, she now has reservations about actually going. I love all of the pirate jargon, so fun for the kids, makes for a grand story to read as well. The author opened up the word Patiences. A word for all children to learn and accept. The story is quick and easy to follow. The illustrations were fun and opened the door for making eye patches. I love this story and look forward to reading more from this author.

Well thanks to Ellie, his dream came true. It came with more than he imagined though. This connection they have is just as amazing as Ellie and Beckett. I can’t wait for another book!

I would not recommend jumping into this series without reading the first two books. I struggled keeping my attention on this book and it took way too long for me to read because the backstory of the characters was probably in the other books. This also led me to not liking any of the characters because they all seem very flawed with little explanation. Again, reading the first two books would have probably helped me here.
With this stated and my personal struggle to connect, it was just an okay read for me. I would have liked more details on the investigation and less on the characters feelings about suspects, but I understand small town suspense leads to this mindset. I would have liked to see more linkage between the old and new cases other than a hunch. Overall, good storyline and brought to light the secrets everyone holds but it didn’t have any WOW moments that captured me.

This is not my first book by this author but this is one of my favorites by them. I enjoy their ability to pull me into the story with their creative writing style. I highly suggest reading previous books in this series to help your enjoyment of this author and this series. This is a well written story where a brother’s best friend cannot stand you but he is the only one that can save you. What happens in this story you will want to find out. The characters pulled me into the story from the start. They are connectable and made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. They bring romance and suspense together for a hard to put down story. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. This is a fast paced, engaging story that I highly recommend.

Man, Benoit and Dayne are two badass cops. A murder mystery from 25 years ago pops up. Dayne jumps in to take charge because Benoit just has emergency appendix surgery. Do you thing that keeps Benoit down? Nope. Personalities clash among the townspeople and cops. Secrets are unveiled. I love this series. The ladies are strong-willed, independent and not afraid of much. They’ll step right into the fracas. The other characters fit right into the story. That town is full of characters. The plot is perfect. I loved the little bit of twists thrown in there. It all tied together just dandy. The clashes, the drama, the family hooha, oh my! At times, it felt likes fists were gonna throw. The fact that everyone got to be involved from Young to the victim’s parents. It’s a community mystery. You have to read it can be read as a stand alone. Highly recommend.

This series just gets better and better. Tripp Garza is one hot hunk of man. Soleil has been hot for him ever since she was younger. Coming to LA for a mission to find the truth about her family, Soleil ends up on an adventure that has her life in danger and Red Cage trying to help. Oh, the suspense will have you holding your breath (didn’t even realize I was). You’ll feel all the emotions. Old favorites will make appearances throughout the story. The storyline runs smooth, even with all the drama, adventure, and plot twists. Romance will abound. These two have chemistry. They just need to admit it, will they? A wonderful read that I would give more than 5 stars if I were allowed to. An early winner for this year.

A winning story in this house! The story is bright, colorful. We were all laughing. A story of not wanting to rush but then being scared of new things. I loved the characters names. The story kept my grandchildren engaged. There was lots of interaction by all of them. This story is a must for your book corner. I may be buying one for all my grandchildren.

My Pearl Heart by J.N Sheats 4 out of 5 Stars My Pearl Heart is a fabulous stand alone novel with a STRONG female lead by the name of Jasmine. Jasmine is determined to keep herself busy and prove that she is everything, can do everything, be everything, That is until the next thing to royalty, James, goes and ruins everything. That’s ok though, Jasmine is forging on ahead. After shoving James aside, and rightfully into his place she keeps on trucking, or does she? I adored this book. It was short and very sweet. Less than 150 pages. The perfect romance book to read around the holidays and to cozy up to around the fire. The characters were well built, chapters were the perfect length and the story was robust. Lovers of Holiday and Contemporary Romance will fall in love with this book.

This was a cute children’s book about hating to wait. Half-pint Porky wants to go to big pig school like her big brother and sister. But she has to wait. And she hates to wait! This is a good book for young children to learn about patience. My 4 year old granddaughter thought this was a cute book.

Intriguing and suspenseful This crime thriller had so many twists and turns it had me in a spin. Brilliantly written, with well developed characters, the author dropped crumbs throughout the story and it wasn’t until the end that it all clicked into place. This is the first I have read from this author but the third book in the Benoit and Dayne Mystery series and I loved it. I must go back and read the other books. Highly recommend!
